I booked there for an easy trip where I didn’t want to spend much. I was in London for a quick task so I picked a cheap option to do so. However, it became expensive because I had to leave the room at 5am and waited until 8am to check out. I booked for 3 nights and I stayed there only for half. I asked for a refund, no way you get a refund from this guys. They are very very polite, but it’s all business, as soon as things become uncomfortable, they become what they really are. They say it’s a new place, but it looks super old and dirty, beds are uncontrollable. It smells bad. One guy did not stop coughing for the whole night, that’s why I asked to me moved somewhere else but they did not accept (because they were fully booked). I checked online and they still had vacancies… anyway, I had to book in a hotel, I did not get refunded so my trip became more expensive than expected. Honestly, avoid this place if you can. It really destroyed my plans in London. And this guys are very good writing answers, as you can see in the bad reviews they have they always find a way to make look the guest guilty. So let’s see what they have to say about me … “you booked a non refundable stay” - I booked a stay where I could not stay so everything is wrong 🙂

Probably the best hostel in a long time!! Super clean, the vibe is great and the people were amazing. Absolutely loved it as a solo traveller. Location is beautiful and safe! The best hostel I have ever stayed at. The staff are so wonderful and accomodating. The building is beautiful, great area, close to everything you need. Leah was amazing! Genuinely never wanted to leave. Also the nightly activities are so great for meeting everyone. I love that there is an age limit because I don’t have to worry about sharing a room with old men. Couldn’t recommend enough!

This hostel has vibrant vibe, very friendly people! The bunkbeds needs uograde, when one person move the top bed move so you can feel all movement. It has a common kitchen to cook. They just accept people of less of 40 years old. Take that in consideration because in my group I am 51 and they canceled our stay. We didn’t know that so when we arrived they allowed us to stay just one night. Them we talked to them and based that the old detail was not warned us we stayed the 2 nights. We were 5 persons in group. So far great vibe

I highly recommend this hostel, all the facilities are impecable and clean. The kitchen is well-equipped. There is a living room with a terrace to read or watch television, and a dining room. All the members of Urbany are very attentive and make you feel part of this beautiful community. In my experience I asked Charlie a couple of questions, he responded very kindly and eager to help, Sacha always with a smile and Rosie trying to integrate everyone into the group and those who also transmit their love by cooking delicious dinners. I love you guys💓

The staff here is great, friendly, welcoming and fun. We really enjoyed the vibe. The hostel is kept clean as well. However the overall facilities could be improved. We’ve stayed in December and the whole place was freezing. The beds are very noisy as well which is disturbing if someone moves in their bed at night.

Stayed here for nottinghill carnival, great location, lovely friendly staff and easy to make friends with other guests. Everyone was lush! The kitchen was clean and had everything you would need. The rooms were fairly spacious (I stayed in a 6 bed dorm) and the beds were comfy enough. Good shower pressure. Everything was kept very clean and it was a very welcoming hostel. I’ll definitely be back.

Is a fabulous hostel. The rooms have a good size and are clean, location is very close to all public transport and you are very quick in town. The hostel staff were friendly, warm, welcoming, and very helpful.

Cute hostel with great vibes for meeting people/making friends. Lots of shared spaces, big industrial kitchen, indoor and outdoor communal spaces, very helpful and friendly reception staff. Beware your room might be 3 floors up! For people with large suitcases.. Showers small but clean and water hot. Unsure if the room had air conditioning.

Stayed with a couple of my friends for a week. Location is pretty amazing, close to the Subway and plenty of Supermarkets and Restaurants as well as Hyde Park. Definitely caters towards young people with lots of organized and fun activities in the evenings. Super friendly staff and Atmosphere. Rooms were okay, lockers didnt work but ingeneral pretty average. Bathrooms were quite cramped and small on our floor.

Friendly staff and a clean hostel. Terrace and lounge are real nice. Take earplugs though, noise could be loud from within the hostel or outside up to around 2am.

The neighborhood was tremendously safe and gorgeous with many restaurants of various ethnic cuisines and convenience stores. I felt very safe walking alone at night as a woman. I paid for an 8 person room and it would be what you would expect. The room got rather smelly with so many people and there was only a space heater and a window so I had to air out the smell once. The beds are pretty comfortable! I was pleasantly surprised. I was given a very warm and comfortable comforter (not a blanket) and a full and fluffy pillow which made sleeping very good. The showers and toilets are in different rooms in the hallway of almost every floor and all were kept very clean. My room was on the 3rd floor and it took a lot of huffing and puffing to climb those steep stairs and the bathroom was a flight of stairs below my room. The staff was very kind and helpful. I learned that we had free dinner each night which makes the price worth it. They were able to store my luggage before check in. I would stay here again, but maybe get a smaller room of only 4 to 6 people.

Excellent hostel. It was clean, convenient, and the streets felt safe even at night. Staff were friendly and kind. Each bed was equipped with 2 3-pin plugs along with 2 USB wall ports which was fantastic, and each room came with lockers as well. Towel rental is available for 2£, and you have to place a 10£ deposit for the keys. Showers and bathrooms were also very clean. Communal areas were nice and spacious. I love that they have events every day too, although on my very short stay I did not have the chance to join them. However I'll definitely be back. This is a great hostel with great staff and people :)

No CCTV Doors dont shut fully you have to pull them shut when leaving room. First room had bedbugs so I was transferred to another room. Staff were arrogantly friendly but had hidden agendas of drinking games to make you miss check out so you then had to pay $20 late checkout fee My advise would be to use the hostels around the corner

Difficult to found any problems in this new hostel. They got to TV room for meet and speak with other guests, the dinner is includ with the price ( was really good thx again for the garlic bread !) But like every time I take time to write a review it's not just for the place but for the staff 5 🌟 !

The staff here are amazing! So friendly and outgoing. And they work super hard to maintain the cleanliness of this hostel. I totally recommend this hostel to any young youth who are looking for good vibes and fun times. Jake and Sasha in particular were spectacular at making everyone feel at home 😀

This hostel is amazing. The staff are so friendly and fun and the guests are easy to get to know because the hostel sets a pro social atmosphere. The rooms are clean and they have all the basics covered like towels, a kitchen, a lounge and a dining room and also an awesome backyard. Oh and they host events where like the entire hostel goes out together to a nightclub or something too which is an awesome plus. Thank you to Alex B for taking me to Nandos for a London meal!!!! Definitely recommend if you want to meet people/ have programming everyday including options to go out almost nightly. It was cleaned constantly and vibes were great. Everyone there was pretty social and friendly - if anything I was the recluse since I was half working. Biggest downside was the trek up to the private rooms on the top floor but they warn you in advance.

By far the best hostel we have ever stayed at. The rooms were good size and clean, location was close to all public transport, the hostel was very social and the staff. I can not speak highly of each staff member that was working during our stay. They were friendly, warm, welcoming and so so helpful the entire time. We will definitely be back and we 10/10 recommend staying here.

Love this hostel! Everyone who works here is amazing and a huge shout out to them all. They Organise daily activities, nights out which is loads of fun! the staff maintain the cleanliness really well, you always see someone cleaning and is one of the cleanest hostels i have been too. Urbany London is one of my favorite hostels I’ve ever stayed at! Amazing staff and atmosphere, especially as a solo traveler. Rooms and bathrooms cleaned very frequently. I had an excellent stay here. The staff became a family away from home. They are always there for you when you need help or advice about where to go! Even the guests turned into some great friends and were always keen to do join when I wanted to do something.

Overall a great experience, the staff are nice and the location beautiful. It's prettx much always clean and the facilities are laid out in a way that makes it easy to socialise but also let you keep to yourself, if you want. The only issue for me was that the rooms were, when all the beds are taken, super full and you barely get any privacy - to be expected, you might say, from a hostel, but nonetheless having other people burst in unannounced at 11:45 with loud voices and lights and no regard for people's sleep the day before their planned departure is not a pleasant experience, even if the curfew is technically 12:00

One of the better hostels I've been in this summer. Big and clean kitchen, very nice staff (lent me padlock for free) that took us clubbing. Airy rooms also. Not expensive

I stayed in a 4 bedroom dorm. The beds were comfy and very clean. There was also a tap in the room which was convinient to fill my water bottle. The staff were awesome and super welcoming and the location was great in a very nice part of London. Transport was easy as my reason for the stay was to catch a flight at Heathrow the next day. My flight was late afternoon and there were plenty of restaurants & things to do around the area in the morning which was a great way to kill time before my flight and get a good meal in. It took me 30 minutes to get to the airport via public transport with no issues, would recommend. 👍

can't praise this joint enough. Great facilities, full kitchen with multiple stove tops, clean, lovely staff, lovely guests. We enjoyed the outside courtyard for hanging out with others and smoking, if felt very private. Many people we met there said they had come back to the hostel a few times. I would too!

The hostel was great. The showers were clean, had a good water pressure and were hot. Everyone working there was extremely hospitable, nice and accommodating ( especially luan :)). Even though London financially ruined me in the course of a short party weekend. If I were to ever return, it 100% would be in this hostel.

I have stayed in hostels all over the world and can easily say that Urbany Hostel in London is without a doubt my favorite London hostel. Not only was it located in a great area right by Notting Hill, but the hostel itself was awesome. From friendly staff, to great and clean facilities, other awesome and young likeminded travelers, to its central location there is no doubt that I would stay here again. Plus, the staff was amazing. Nina and Jake were not only extremely helpful in giving me great recommendations of things to do in the area, but were extremely friendly and fun to chat with. I will definitely be staying here again!

The location is great, right near Hyde Park and some metro stations. A simple space, yet a comfortable one. (The stairs make for a great work out!) Guests were respectful. Staff was nice and helpful ✨ Would stay again.

Really liked this hostel and would 100% be back, the location is convenient especially if you are using Paddington station or wanting to get to/from Heathrow. Just a few minutes walk from the tube station. The staff were fab and super friendly, everything was very clean and the facilities that I used were good. Only stayed one night but would 100% come back if I was staying in London again.

This place was my first experience at a hostel and it did not disappoint. All the staff are amazing, welcoming, and friendly. Shout out to Jake for making the stay a memorable one. The hostel is situated in a prime area that is safe, close to public transport, and near grocery shops. Everyone I bumped into was kind, friendly and welcoming. This place is that good that i’ve rebooked it again next month!

Great hostel close to metro station to easily get around. If you come I hope you get to try Jacintas amazing cooking and get to share a laugh with her. All the employees here are amazing and really put effort for the hostel to run smoothly. Highly recommend!

Great experience! As a young traveler I met plenty of others and made many new friends in my short stay there. The only complaint I have is they should have more secure storage for luggage. There are small lockers but nothing to put a whole suitcase in like in other hostels I've stayed at. Other than that one small complaint I highly recommend anyone stay here when visiting London!

Very nice place for (solo-) travelers. A big plus is the relatively small size of the hostel which allows for a trust based kitchen (with free essentials like toast, pasta, coffee etc) and also keeps the terrace and lobby room from overcrowding. They also have some sort of events (almost?) every day to keep you entertained and gives you the chance to meet others. Rooms are nothing special, but definitely do their job. UK plugs and usb ports.

Friendly and helpful staff, comfortable beds and clean facilities

We stayed for one night and ended up with the four-bed dorm to ourselves. The receptionist who welcomed us was warm and inviting, the hostel is pretty clean overall, it offers all services that you need; however, the kitchen was a bit messy. The surrounding area offers many places to eat and nightlife, as well as groceries and very close to transit. The bed was comfortable, but they're quite close together. It wouldn't have been as a nice experience had we been in a full dorm.

What a warm and welcoming hostel!! Staff are lovely and give you a tour on arrival making a real effort to make you feel comfortable and at home. Free dinners are always delicious and a real bonus for travellers on a budget 😊 couldn’t recommend staying here highly enough!!

This is a great hostel with a massive kitchen two separate common areas. The beads are comfortable and the hostel is always clean. The staff are friendly and easy to get along with and there's a free vegetarian dinner every night at 8pm

This is the best hostel I've ever stayed out. Super chill atmosphere, the staff are wonderful! Leah, Raf, Alin, Una, and the cute girl with the glasses, McKenzie! She's so CUTE! The hostel has a huge big kitchen with everything you'll ever need. 2 super chilled lounge rooms that both have Netflix and Amazon prime! The beds are comfy and at 8pm every night they have FREE vegetarian meals that are cooked by the staff which are always delicious! The hostel is just a short 5min walk to the baywaters station and Queensway station. Also a short walk to Hyde Park and Portobello Markets Defiantly recommend this hostel for anyone wanting to stay in London

Great hostel! As other reviewers have said, the staff are SUPER nice and helpful. Location is also very convenient and safe.

For the price I paid, I was absolutely not expecting what I got. I knew the reviews were overwhelmingly positive, but I was still a bit nervous about it all. When I got to the hostel, I was immediately blown away by the hospitality, Margarita made me feel right at home, she's a very genuine and nice person. And atop it all, FREE dinner? I was very surprised! All the meals I had were very good as well, even if the bowls weren't that big. Some days I left early and got back late, but the days that I did spend at the hostel I met great people and had amazing conversations. The common areas were also very tasteful and a pleasure to be in, bathrooms were clean. The people who do cleaning here are also very nice, definitely have a chat with them when you can! One thing I will say is that staying on the ground floor was a bit noisy and I needed earplugs to block out the noise from both the outside and through the door most days. But hostels are noisy, that's nothing new! The door to my room also didn't properly lock so I did feel compelled to lock any important stuff away in my locker (by the way, bring your own padlock, you can buy one at reception and it's no issue, but it'll be easier if you bring your own). However, I never felt unsafe here and didn't for a moment think anyone would steal my things, just a "better safe than sorry" measure. The staff are all so down to earth, friendly and helpful. Antonella (yes I remembered to mention you especially) but also Leah, Steph, Jon, Alex, Sadie - apologies if I forgot any others or spelt your names wrong - thank you for a super fun last night. And yes I'll make sure to come back!

Urbany, I love you so much! Thank you for an amazing time in London. I stayed at the hostel for 6 nights and thoroughly enjoyed my entire stay. The staff at Urbany is definitely a key piece of why I enjoyed my stay so much. From the inviting check-in to the fun nights in and out, they are all great people and I instantly made connections with many of them because they were so welcoming. The hostel itself is maintained really well. My bed was really comfortable and the volunteers are also constantly cleaning the kitchen surfaces, bathrooms, and common area floors. The hostel itself is a 20-minute walk from Notting Hill and a short walk from the Kensington Gardens. It’s a beautiful area and is close to multiple tube stations if you want to visit further tourist spots. With facilities, they had a great kitchen and lounge space and I had no troubles with internet connection. Thanks again Urbany, I’ll see you soon!

The only place in London to stay if your hunting for a Hostel. Very friendly staff, spotlessly clean and great facilities at a great rate and to top it of it's in one of the best locations in Lindon.

Hands down the best hostel I stayed in London. Staff is extremely nice and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and have big windows with loads of natural light coming in. The location is great, very close to the tube and shops. I’d recommend this place to anyone visiting London

Overall I enjoyed my stay here and would stay again, though hoping for some improvements. Positives: the location is incredibly safe and easily accessible to public transports, with a lot of shops and restaurants in the area. The volunteer staff are super friendly and helpful, willing to give tips and knowledge for your travels. The common area is excellent for meeting people, the free dinner each night at 8pm is awesome, and the overall atmosphere is super hospitable. The facilities are well maintained and relatively clean. Security is reliable. Negatives: the shower stalls are quite cramped, as well as the hallways. The bunks themselves seem a bit dated and squeak. The lockers inside the room were quite small and old. The laundry staff lost something I had cleaned, and the same thing happened to a roommate. My towel was also taken from my room by cleaning staff and was never found, though I was given one from the hostel as replacement. Cleanliness could be improved upon.

The amenities such as towels and bedding could use a bit of work and although the building itself is old and beautiful, the grey bunkbeds and bedding kinda took away from the charm. The neighborhood was quiet and the window in our room looked out on greenery. The hostel is close to Kensington Gardens and many public transport services. Highly recommend for anyone traveling on a budget and doesn't demand luxury. P.S. Zoe was super sweet and stylish. 😺

Best Hostel Experience! My second time staying at Urbany and it is the only hostel I will stay at in London! The location is great & there is so much to do within walking distance. There are also several tube stations & bus stops nearby. The beds are comfy & rooms are spacious. Plenty of common areas to get to know other travelers. The staff serves delicious, free vegetarian dinners every couple days. Very Clean! The staff is incredible. Zoe + Alex were very helpful with check-in. Adrian, Kale, Max + Brea were all excellent party leaders! Josh made the check-out process very easy!
