I don’t understand the rave of this restaurant. We joined the virtual queue and waited for about 35 mins. Had very high expectations as it was highly recommended by a friend. Ordered a beef and crayfish pastas that tasted really bland and had no flavour, can barely find traces of lobster in it. Burata was extremely delicious with the olive oil though, but other than that, it was a disappointment and wasn’t worth the £50. However perhaps being Asian, we’re too used to flavourful dishes.

Delicious pasta! Simple dishes that are so tasty. Would definitely recommend to try it. It’s not really a sit down restaurant- more of a eat and go vibe. Worth the hype it gets and reasonably priced as well

Discovered a pasta haven at Padella in Borough Market—hands down, some of the best pasta on this trip! Can't recall where I stumbled upon this gem, but it's a culinary win. Tried a variety of pastas, all impeccably cooked. Personal favorite? The slow-cooked beef ragu pasta! 🍝

I absolutely love this place - it has some of the best pasta dishes in London. Everything we had was excellent - it's the kind of place you want to return to over and over to try multiple things and repeat favorites. The wine selection is great too, it's small but everything is good and pairs well with their dishes. Service was also great - friendly, attentive and helpful. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Highly rated pasta restaurant, the queue can be tricky and can take some time. It was my first time there, felt the few dishes were too salty for us. Not sure if this is their usual or not. Good service and friendly staff.

I came to dine in Padella after hearing all the hype around it , but I would say I had a mediocre experience. We got in the online queue around opening time and had to wait about 15 minutes. The restaurant is very tight fit , with decent amount of seats yet no space for the chairs and tables. We sat downstairs and it was hard to get into the inside table as it’s very cramped. Moving onto the food, we ordered the burrata to which the waitress told us that it only comes as it is, without any breads or anything to go with it. We ended up ordering the bread but personally , my friend and I did think that if you’re paying £9.50 for burrata …. It should at least come with something else , not literally just cheese and oil . The burrata and sourdough bread were nice to be fair. The first pasta dish we tried was the Fettuccine with fennel & chilli sausage ragu and my friend and I didn’t like it all. Firstly, the dish was served to us cold and it was just very flavourless. Then after we had the Fettuccine with Cobble Lane Cured nduja, mascarpone & lemon and the Pici cacio & pepe pasta dish. We both liked the pici cacio & pepe pasta dish , it was very simple yet delicious . It was cheesy, buttery and peppery. With the njuda fettuccine , it was nice , my friend particularly enjoyed that one but I thought it was just okay . Overall, I would say my experience at Padella was very average . Not sure if I’ll be back.

There’s no faulting this bijou Italian bistro just outside borough market. The app enabled waitlist is well worth the time and effort for a superb culinary experience that stretches from appetisers, right through to dessert. The pasta mains we had all looked and tasted amazing and have a homemade/artisan quality. There’s nothing pretentious about them, just simple, good food. The serving sizes are generous and ample for sharing with another diner. Finally, the service is diligent, courteous and friendly.

The famous @padella_pasta offers fresh and delicious pasta at a reasonable price. I went for a weekday lunch and the wait with the digital queue wasn’t bad at all. Very yummy pasta and it’s fun to sit at the bar and watch them make everything. The portion is huge and I left feeling super full!

Is it worth the hype? Possibly not anymore. Virtual queue was seamless. Staff where friendly but always felt rushed. Food came quickly. Wine options are nice. Food was obviously delicious, and left full but probably won’t go back. Worth a try if in the area but wouldn’t travel in for just here. Thankfully the pasta option in London is quite saturated now.

Absolutely beautifully made pasta from scratch and is so so delicious. Loved it, it's authentic food, with quality, dedication and it is not expensive. The restaurant is small, so it is recommended to reserve a table or just queue. The staff were friendly and attentive. Highly recommended.

The pasta at this establishment is truly outstanding. I am particularly fond of their unique flavor profiles; it's a taste unlike any I've experienced before. To ensure a seamless dining experience, I highly recommend arriving at the shop before it officially opens. They offer a convenient QR code system for making reservations. Once you've reserved your spot, the system will notify you when your table is nearly ready. This means you can take a leisurely stroll around the market while you wait, immersing yourself in the vibrant surroundings until the time comes to savor your meal.

Went early on a weekday lunch. You just scan the qr code in front of the restaurant to start queuing. We were no.10 when I got there 5 minutes after they open. It was totally worth the effort. We ordered 4 pasta and two affogato split between two. We were super full but every dish was just heavenly. They will tasted distinctly different and I loved the variety of pasta served. We cleaned our plats!

A bit of a kerfuffle to get in and very limited space, they did their best and got us a table outside with the heaters on (this was mid December). The beef shin papadelle was superb, crab pasta was ok. Lemon tart was great. Food came fairly quickly despite them being so busy. Service was prompt and attentive. Would definitely return if I can get in again!

One of my favourite places for fresh pasta. Fast and efficient service with amazing quality. It is always extremely busy and it's not possible to book, but you can hoin a virtual queue. If you don't want to be disappoint I'd recommend going at less popular times.

Great, buzzy, authentic Italian restaurant right by Borough Market. No reservations but very easy to use app to join the virtual queue. Really delicious food with lots of great, fresh pasta options. Highly recommended.

I waited 1 hour. The meal was satisfying and the spaghetti noodles were chewy. The male staff member wearing glasses who took my order was really friendly. When I asked about the menu, I was grateful that they kindly explained it with photos from Google reviews.

Best pasta in London. Handmade in the window, so you can watch them make it while queueing for a table. Their signature dish is pici cacio & pepe, which is just divine with the ideal chew and a perfect balance of flavours. We went with a number of other dishes, noticeable is especially the gnocchi, which are so fluffy soft you can squish them with your tongue. Furthermore we had ricotta and sage lemon ravioli, which were divine and also perfectly balanced and finally the fettuccine with Scottish mushrooms, which were so good we ordered another plate. The reason why people queue 1.5 hours to get into this place is because it's worth it.

Great service & food! We wanted to go to Padella for ages and we finally made it. Such a great experience! From the time we got in, the host very friendly took us to the table and from the Ely looked after us in the best way! Very friendly, she made sure everything was alright. Good job Ely and also congratulations to Padella to find such an amazing worker! Also, the food was incredible (congratulations to the chefs) and for reasonable price. I would expect the restaurants around Borough to be more expensive but Padella is an exception. I only have good words to describe this restaurant! I'm definitely coming back as long as the queue is not too long.

Absolutely incredible (and I say that as someone who isn't a big fan of pasta). Bread and saucisson for starters were delicious, then we shared 4 pasta dishes between the two of us. Especially loved the gnocchi with nutmeg butter and the Fettuccine with chicken livers. Highly recommended

Finally we managed to go to the famous and extremely busy Padella. We were served by Emma. Super nice and helpful who helped my wife to choose her main. The quality of the pasta couldn’t be better. Cheaper, for sure but better impossible. £13.5 and £14 for our mains (you can see them in the pics) in my opinion are totally overpriced. (Even with the current inflation). My wife really loved her pistachio pasta…. However, it looks like people doesn’t care about the overpricing because it is always full at anytime with a long queue. Olives (me being Spanish) didn’t impressed me. The bread was brilliant. Same with the burrata. The amount of pasta varies between 100-150grs depending of the main. ( not a great portion for my pappardelle) Founders, Jordan and Tim (British, not Italian) opened the first of 3 Padellas 5 years ago and it looks like it’s going pretty well. I am happy that finally I could manage to try what so many people were talking about. However, £74 for a quick lunch for 2 people, I would definitely will go to another place with a lunch set menu. Go and try by yourself though…

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Padella and I must say, the service I received from Salvatore was absolutely outstanding. From the moment I walked in, he greeted me with a warm smile and made me feel incredibly welcome. His attentiveness and knowledge of the menu were truly impressive. Not only was the service exceptional, but the food at Padella was also truly amazing. Each dish was prepared with such care and attention to detail, resulting in a culinary experience that exceeded my expectations. The flavors were bold and vibrant, and every bite was a delight. I cannot recommend Padella enough, especially with Salvatore providing such exceptional service. It is clear that the staff at this restaurant are passionate about what they do, and it truly shines through in every aspect of the dining experience. If you're looking for a memorable meal with top-notch service, Padella is the place to go.

Absolutely one of the best Italian restaurants in London. Food was incredible and service was fantastic. The wait time went so quick but regardless it was worth any wait, this is my new go to pasta place.

The pasta is great but the desserts are expensive: £4.5 for half the size of what you can get for that price in mid-range restaurants.

Not worth queuing. Ate in the restaurant years ago but didn’t like it. As such a good reviews so I wanted to try again and it’s still not worth it. Just ok but not worth getting it.

Absolutely brilliant place. Hight quality homemade Pasta, incredibly tasty. It gets very busy, so you need to be aware that it could be 1h - 1.5h to get in, you need to scan a QR code on your arrival and they will let you know the waiting time. Good selection of wine and great service!

  • 5/5 Ann 1 year ago on Google
Food was delicious and really good price point for it. Will go back again and try their other pastas. Long wait times though as I couldn't book in advance for a Friday night - just have to plan ahead. We went at 5:15pm and joined the virtual queue and were seated about an hour later. We just had drinks closeby in the meantime. I suggest joining the queue even earlier if you don't have time to wait, as I imagine it can be a 1-2 hour wait on a Friday.

  • 5/5 Andres S. 1 year ago on Google
Absolutely worth the wait! You can reserve your spot online so when you wait you don’t actually have to be there waiting in a line. You can download the app Dojo ahead of time and do some sightseeing in the area and they’ll shoot you a text when your table is ready. I had the burrata and the beef pasta and it was delicious. I could’ve had three more of those pasta dishes and I’ll definitely be coming back here. The service was exquisite and everyone was very friendly.

  • 5/5 Michael C. 1 year ago on Google
Extremely good pasta. Fast efficient service that was friendly. The atmosphere is very loud but otherwise comfortable. I do wish they had some better protein options on the menu. Highly recommended.

  • 5/5 Marco Roy L. 6 months ago on Google
Cozy restaurant with friendly staff. The food was excellent, especially the various pastas we ordered. the table (for 3 people) could have been slightly larger. The price for the food you get is very good.

  • 5/5 Sharon C. 7 months ago on Google
A QR code to scan at the front door for queue up and you will receive a text message when the table is ready. I got a seat at the counter table right in front of the open kitchen. It’s a good experience to see how they prepare your food. Fettuccine is one of my favorite pastas, so I order this with Scottish girolles and tiramisu as dessert. Food served fast and hot, the texture and the cooking time of home-made fettuccine is absolutely great. They cut the girolles into little pieces but I would prefer to keep the original shape of the girolles in order to enjoy mixture flavors of the pasta and mushroom altogether.

  • 5/5 Sruthi 6 months ago on Google
I had the tagliarini with Dorset crab, it’s nice but I think I was expecting more with flavour because of how hyped Padella is. It’s slightly bland but I thought the portion size was a good amount overall and it did definitely fill me up. I’m happy with the customer service they were polite and friendly.

  • 3/5 Svitlana Sera K. 6 months ago on Google
I’d sum up my impression in two words- Overrated and overpriced. Staff is welcoming, they do make pasta on site but it’s more like a pasta bar - stop eat go - with an atmosphere of a fast food place . However the prices are high for the portion you get and the quality (my pasta was way too al dente than it should and you can feel all that wheat being not the highest quality). For the same money you have a choice of Italian places which offer much better quality - look around guys.

  • 5/5 Edvin G. 5 months ago on Google
65minutes of wait.. quality of pasta is outstanding 🌟🌟🌟 We had anchovies as starter and went for 3 dishes of pasta (2ppl) - wow wow wow. Dylan was serving us and was great throughout, thank you 👍🏼 👍🏼 Reserve a table/join virtual queue via app “Dojo” , go grab a drink nearby (I.e. across the street try this Inn that offers beer/wine garden with restaurant and more, which is great choice 👌🏼👌🏼🍹🍸 ”The George” Est. 1676

We were a group of 3 and got here around 12 lunch time on a Saturday and we were offered a table immediately. Food was delicious and service is quick. Would be even better if on the menu, it states what food is Vegetarian friendly. Nevertheless when we asked our waitress she was informative and offered with suggestions. I would come here again.

One of the best pasta restaurants in London!! I tried their ravioli and Cacio de pepe (their staple), and I preferred the ravioli more. Great service but the line is long. If you don’t want to wait, you can order take out and eat around Tate modern since there are a lot of benches.

What a shame that the two portion of pasta we ordered on the go from Borough Market was half empty, if not less. I have seen pictures online and the quantity should have been bigger. I've tried pasta take away in other places and this was the smallest portion ever, definitely not for a main. The price a rip off for the tiny portion we got.

  • 1/5 Andrea C. 3 years ago on Google
I wanted to try this place for over 4 years, and when I finally did, I could not be more disappointed. My girlfriend and I got two different types of pasta: "stracci" and "pici cacio e pepe". The first disappointment was in the quantity, as the two portion put together weight less than 80g. The second disappointment was in the taste, as the cacio e pepe tasted like lemon and the stracci had almost no taste at all. 14£ for this is a disgrace and a rip off. If you want to taste actual Italian food (which consists also in great quantities, by tradition) try "Pasta is Ready".

(Translated by Google) In 2017, I had a local friend take me. When I visited for the first time, there was a long line, so I was able to enter the store in line about 15 minutes before the second opening. I think it was worth the line because you can eat delicious pasta in London for less than £ 10. (In the sense of a general traveler who is not luxury-oriented) You can also walk from TATE modern.

I always enjoy a trip to Padella, and the food is absolutely gorgeous. The only reason that I can't give it 5 stars is because the price is just slightly above what I think it's worth. However, if you love pasta, this place is among the best to head down to if you're around London Bridge.

Here at Padella, we can expect to have comforting and familiar great handmade pasta. Today I had a plate of pici cacio e pepe (£6.5). How can something with few ingredients be so delicious? I can still remember the taste and texture of this wonderful dense pasta.

Padella located in Borough market has a walk up App system for booking tables which we made use of. The app gives an approximate waiting time for a table along with the days menu. We were fortunate in that the original 110 - 120 minutes wait was reduced by 30 minutes. We were contacted by text to inform us that our table was ready. The system allows you to respond and you have 10 minutes to take your seats. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the menu was quite limited which made choosing your meal very easy. We enjoyed some antipasti, a main and dessert. The wine list is also limited. The food was served hot although the portions are quite small. The food was good but not outstanding. We enjoyed a leisurely two hours seated outside. The restaurant is very busy and quite popular. So it is probably best to pre-book and reserve a table. We will probably revisit but at a less busy time.

As I was reminiscing my visit to Padella last year, it reminded me to leave a review. Definitely a must do spot if you’re around Tower Bridge or Borough market. Hands down one of the best pasta in the area, which stands out in it’s simplicity and quality. We had 3 pasta split between the two of us, we leftovers for later. The gnocchi is a must do.

  • 5/5 Cyril S. 3 years ago on Google
Terrific food is to be had here! Reserving your table early is essential though as it is usually packed and books out fast. If you go for lunch, you'll get pretty much the same but for a very reasonable price, too!

  • 5/5 Shaz e. 3 years ago on Google
Ordered a kit from the online shop and was looking forward to it so much but it was inedible/ salty. Padella sorted this straight away and we made it again today and it was just as it use to be in the restaurant. Personally, I would recommend adding 1 not 2 ladles of salted water to the sauce and maybe add according to taste. But thoroughly enjoyable and good portion size too.

I've heard good things about this place but was disappointed. Maybe it's because they're only doing takeaway during covid. I got 3 pastas for 20 pounds which we shared between 2 people. None of them were particularly special but tasted decent, for the price I expect better.

I understand they only make one type of vegan pasta but that doesn't stop them making a few different vegan sauces. Mushrooms, tomatoes, olive oil, truffles, garlic etc are all vegan, have a go, sure you can make something delicious like the rest of your beautiful food! Great value for money if you are passing by and willing to queue!

Very small in size so seating is limited but don't let size fool you. While in season the Butternut Squash Ravioli with sage is a personal favorite. I suggest you order a drink and watch the pasta be hand rolled while you await your order.

We stopped for a quick lunch on a Saturday, I had never been here before and I was really pleasantly surprised. The idea is excellent, small range of great ingredients and fresh pasta rather than a big potentially mediocre menu. Low prices and fast service, clearly it cannot be compared to Italy but it's probably the closest you can get to in London.

Managed to dine in before London went to lockdown. Ordered the pici cacio and pappardelle pastas and I found the pici pasta quite unique and tasted great. The pappardelle sauce was alright but wasn’t as tasty as what I thought. Overall it’s a nice Italian restaurant, there seems to be long queue or waiting list so do come here early to get a spot. You can also do pasta takeaways too.
