This is a simple and cheap hotel with shared showers and toilets. The staff was helpful and nice, we had no problem communicating with them. The comments saying that the staff was rude are lies in my opinion. The hotel has everything one needs if staying in London for several days. On top of that it is located in the centre of the city. On the other hand, there were some downsides. There was an empty plastic bottle in our room when we arrived. Even if bedsheets and towels were clean, I cant say the same about corners of the room or corners in the shower which contained dust and a bit of mold. The hotel would really need a big cleaning to get more stars from clients. There was also garbage on the reception floor occasionally. The windows are old fashioned which makes the rooms a bit cold at night especially in winter months. Overall the hotel is a good and cheap place to stay for a few days but I think people would appreciate if it was more clean.

Absolutely remarkable. This hotel has got it all. Wildlife flying around in the hallways, antique electronics, windows with safety features... every room even comes with a light that works (most of the time)! And to top it all off, the Sidemen stayed there! If they were willing to stay there, who wouldn’t? 5 out of 5 for me.

So reading some of the reviews I was in complete trepidation about this hotel. But let’s get to the chase; the pandemic seriously impacted on my chosen career and finances. In fact today & tomorrow are my first ‘in person’ meetings since it happened. So I was able to get down from Glasgow & a single room in central London for £60 (coach & The County Hotel). I don’t understand what others think they deserve for £30? But I’m absolutely over the moon with what I got! A comfy single bed check☑️ A clean set of towels ☑️ A warm room ☑️ A kettle & a coffee ☑️ Friendly & Warm Staff☑️ Could it do with a lick of paint? Probably. Could it do with updating design of interiors? Probably. Is it en-suite? No! But you know what? All of that will rocket up the price and financially that would prohibit people affected financially by the pandemic as I have been from being able to use it. I’ll certainly be back! Long after my finances return to pre pandemic levels (🤞for my next two meetings)! Well done County Hall staff, you’ve truly made a stressful time (I need to meet in London in order to work, but can’t afford London prices) a complete worry free experience! Leaving me to concentrate on what I needed to do for my business & family.

A DOG KENNEL IS CLEANER! Disappointed, to say the least! I booked this hotel so I can sleep for 1 night while I came to London for work reasons. Upon entering the Hotel I was greeted by the receptionist 'Wait Let me finish my pizza and I'll check you in' Once she finished eating she checked me in. THE ROOM WAS FILTHY! Dried blood under the radiator - dirt on the walls - headboard was broken - TV was broken - Carpet sticky - bedding dirty and the list goes on. I decided that I would not sleep in that room as it was too dirty. I asked for a different room and I was told that there were no other rooms they could give me so I decided to check out and ask for a refund. I've been told now that the refund was declined by the property management as they say the check out was late (I was at work all day) and for that reason, they could not find me an alternative! Anyway... sleep on a garden bench before you consider this pig style shed! Save your money.

This should have been classified as a hostel rather than hotel but I have stayed in very nice hostels. No frills here. Even the lift is full of graffiti. Area is noisy. Place is dirty, carpets are stained. Windows are dirty. No aircon. No bathrooms that don't leak or have plugs full of hair. Beds are uncomfortable and old. The TV didn't work. Won't go back that's positive.

I feel I paid a bit too much for what our hotel and bathrooms looked like. The bathroom was very dirty and we were able to see people on the toilet on floors below us from our room window. The staff was VERY friendly though. The room was small but was fine for what we needed, which was just a place to sleep. I feel like I would give it a better review if it was better priced for what you get.

Great location and better price than other places in the area. Also was available well after other places were not. Okay if you do not mind sharing bathrooms and shower rooms with others. For the most part this was not a problem since it seemed they tried to put people in their own hallway. Staff was extremely nice and helpful. But the place is a bit rundown. Wifi only available in the check-in area downstairs. Rooms are pretty small. Plumbing seemed messed up. And black mold in the bathrooms...although when I told them about it they cleaned it somewhat. Overall, good place if you don't have much money and want to visit nearby places like the British Museum, British Library, etc.

Lovely staff, very friendly. The hotel is very dated and in serious need of renovation! Room was good enough size however there were gaps in the door frame that meant anyone could look in! On entry to the room we found that only the beds had been changed... there was a sock covering the smoke detector, cigarette papers loose in the draw next to the bed alongside a box of matches and a very old and dry non plain packaged pouch of tobacco that was open. And then in the window we found a half eaten chocolate cake still in its plastic wrapper that looked like someone had just taken bites out of it. And on top of that there was only one single power outlet which is fine, but this was a twin room so even just a heads up would have been OK, we could have brought an extension lead! All that being said the hotel is in a perfect central location and considering we travelled in school holidays, I feel that the full price of £50 for the night was brilliant value all things considered. Please please please improve on your house keeping standards and I'd be more than happy to consider staying here again in the future.

Simple hotel with the minimum one needs to spend a few days i London. The staff was excellent and service-minded. This adds well to the experience. On the negative side, the room wad small with separated beds for my girlfriend and me. The hallway gave the the impression that someone had been smoking in there. Toilet and showers was shared among the other hotel guests, which i a drawback. Also just one available electricity outlet in the room. Lastly the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night, due to other guests smoking in their room. Although this is no fault of the hotel staff. However, keep in mind that this a hotel suitable if you are on a budget. You get what you pay for. That's the main conclusion. All on all, it sort of meets my expectations factoring in the price.

Shared bathrooms and toilet is not what l expected for what is paid for it. Furthermore the bunk beds they gave me was even too low for a child let alone an adult. You can't take the room keys with you, not that l wanted, but found it to be a funny rule. I didn't stay at the hotel and had to book another suitable one. I left disappointed. It is not a place you would want to stay after a tiresome day.

I stayed here recently and for what I paid it was good value for money, my own room in central London for a fraction of the price of most places. It was clean and comfortable and I found the staff friendly and helpful. It's not the Ritz but if you are just looking for a good place to crash it's fine. Its fine for a single traveller who will be out most of the day.

The only good thing about this place is it's location. Even the (quite friendly) staff at check-in seemed to know about how questionable this place is for 80 GBP/night. They asked carefully if I have been there already and if I am aware about the shared bathrooms. The room was moldy, filthy and the beds terrible. I could feel every spring of the mattress. There were 4 plastic cups and some instant coffee for free though. Water boiler seemed however too filthy to use it. Adding to all this, a person knocked at every room in the hallway at 5:00 AM to beg people for money. I didn't open the door due to security concerns, but I heard how others opened and how the person asked for money. Door by door...

Even if it is in the center of London and it is cheap, this place should be illegal... incredibly incredibly dirty

Cheap and cheerful. No frills and simple settings in a central London location, so you're only a stone's throw away from most things. Staff are generally quite friendly and eager to help. The major downside was that the room was unbelievably hot and the radiator could not be turned off. I had to open the window, but being in central London and near several important hospitals, the noise can be unbearable for even the heaviest sleeper. The hotel also provides guests with very small towels, so nearly everything is on show if you're using the showers.

The only good thing at this place is clean beds. The rooms have no toilets or showers, those are shared facilities but still some are out of order. Two lifts but only one working some of the time and used by staff to move stuff forcing you to use the stairs. Only wifi is in the lobby. The general state of the hotel is run down, I would never stay there again. In fact only stayed one night when two were booked.

Simple hotel with basic features. Rooms are old but do just the job. Giving a low rating because of the cleanliness of the place. During my visit, there were relatively fresh blood stains on multiple bathroom walls and they were like that for days, same for my room. Location-wise, and facilities are alright and the staff are really friendly and helpful, but a little more cleaning would make the place a lot better. An extra note - wifi is only available in the reception area, but not in rooms.

Look I definitely got what I paid for. Was it nice...not particularly. But would I stay here again? For the price and location I probably would. The bed was comfortable and it was warm I didn't use the shower and there was a sink in the room so that did the job. Also I the WiFi is only available in the reception. Book here if you just want somewhere to sleep and nothing else. There was no hit water in the shower but there has been for the sink, soap for sink and towels provided

The location is good but the beds and services are not so good, at least the ones I've seen.

Location was nice. In the middle of London, but that's about it. They rooms were so dirty. Everything smelled and was dirty with mold and leaking taps. NEVER AGAIN!!

Love this groovy old place, I've used for years, at Upper Woburn Place, Euston. Fantastic for local great London pubs and all connecting Tube, and trains, well done all, love my groovy Ancient Capital London 😀👍

It's cheap and in the centre of London. The receptionist was very helpful and made the place feel welcoming. Otherwise, there's not much positive to say really.

Standard low budget hotel based near Central connections in London. Amenities are decent and the hotel is reasonably clean - staff also friendly. We enjoyed our stay but we are left with one question.... Where's Ray? (And his pizza)

Very friendly staff and that is about it. They haven't been vacuuming the halls for about 10 years, toilet was dirty and almost unusable but the worst was the horrible smell in my room. I couldn't fully open the window to get some fresh air and just wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. It is a budget hotel and it is in center of London, but still.. I didn't expect luxury, but I also didn't expect that I will hasitate to take off my clothes and lay in that bed.

Staff very friendly and helpful but the building needs a refurbishment. Was inexpensive but I was a little shocked at the state of my room, was clean enough but curtains, carpet and fittings in dire need of a makeover. Bedding and towels all pristine apart from the blanket which was almost threadbare and there was a smell in the room that I couldn't get rid of. Won't stay again despite low rates, shame because it has potential as a budget hotel.

The County Hotel is well situated by Euston Station and overall it is good value for money. The room was a good size and adequately furnished, with the twin beds well separated. The TV was working, but limited to the main 5 channels + ITV 2 and two news channels. However there was no kettle, despite tea making facilities being advertised. The toilets were not ensuite, but there were adequate toilet and bathroom facilities for the number of guests and there was never a queue for these facilities. The reception staff were friendly and ensured that keys were only handed out to genuine guests. However the hotel is a bit rundown and would need plenty of money spent to upgrade it. Due to Covid the restaurant was closed so did not serve breakfast. Also cleaners were not allowed in occupied rooms, due to the pandemic. A couple of improvements which can easily be achieved are: 1) The standard of cleaning between guests could be higher 2) A bin could be left outside the room, to prevent accumulation of rubbish, as there was no bin in the room, even though we stayed there for a week.

It's really a "get what you pay for" kind of place. Only giving the second star due to how close it is to the train station and that there's 2 McDonald's within walking distance.

I don’t know where to start. I think this was the worst place I have ever stayed, and I did not expect much for a budget hotel. There was a mouse in my room, and of the shared toilets for the hotel floor, only one was working, and there was next to no toilet paper. They were in horrible dirty condition. The single pane windows meant that you can hear all the traffic of the main road, all night. I asked to be moved because unfortunately my immediate neighbour was unwell, and so had a routine of opening his door, turning the light on, slamming the door, standing outside the door, jangling the keys…no lie, every 25 mins until 5am. I politely asked to move rooms due to my mouse guest and for the nightly disturbance and was told that no rooms were available, which is of course not the fault of the staff, but it did mean I was effectively stuck in the room for the rest of my grim stay here. The room smelled awful. There was a very strange musty smell. On a good note, the staff were pleasant. I don’t usually leave reviews, but in this instance I did feel it was warranted. This is a great place to stay if you had absolutely nowhere else to go. Stay was back in May 2022.
