Firstly would to thank the staff, including the manager for her assistance and apologising. However there are some major problems, which isn’t just about decor or style etc. The hotel is labelled as 3 stars which is definitely not the case. The cleanliness is not up to standard the room is outdated and grubby. The entire toilet basin is loose and not attached. The shower does not function at all. The mattresses are of poor quality. The electrics looked quite dangerous and there was an extension lead that was definitely older than me. The ceiling fan is also loose and sounded like it was going to fall down at any moment. I’d be very cautious taking children here as the window doesn’t lock, there are no bars. We didn’t stick around for breakfast. Again, the staff were lovely and apologetic however the responsibility for these concerns are with the owner.

We´re a family of five, and we had quite a hard time finding a suitable hotel as we wanted either a family room or interconnected rooms. Most hotels only offer rooms sleeping a maximum of four people, and as for interconnected rooms most hotels won´t guarantee this. At this hotel we could book a family room for five people for a very reasonable price compared to many other hotels. The hotel is old and it would need to have some work done, but the family room was very spacious and it was clean. Clean sheets and towels every day. 2 TVs. Friendly staff, who were extremely helpful sorting out our breakfast situation. The location of the hotel was excellent and the area really nice, which was particularly important travelling with young children. I looked around at lots of other hotels and yes, of course there are better, more modern, cleaner hotels out there, but this hotel didn´t cost a fraction of some of those other hotels. I would be more than happy to stay here again.

the location is good but the rest is a complete disaster. our room (207) had a huge water stain on the ceiling which has grown over the days. It was dripping from the ceiling next to the bed, dirty sheets, stinky/wet carpet, breakfast was a joke, the room smelled musty. The closet was wet and the sheets in the closets moldy. This place is a mess!

The staff were friendly, but the cleanliness of this place was a health hazard. The room we stayed in was damp and mouldy the bed we stayed in was broken as was the lock on our bedroom door. Speaking to some of the other guests it was the same story, you're close to Hyde park which is good but other than that and the staff being friendly I'd give it a miss.

No the best experience. In need of a urgent refurbishment and deep cleaning. I can accept is an old building, but at least a bit of care and basic cleaning. Just arrived going to the room I could see towels thrown on the floor and a bag of rubbish in the middle of the stairs, I though maybe the cleaners are there a d just left them for a moment. But I was wrong, I left the next day and towels and bag of rubbish was still there throwed on the floor in the middle of the stairs,.. the room wall cover of dust and spider webs just over the bed head wall, very old shower, fome holes in the wall, the door lock is a joke.. carpet full of stains, old bed mattress you can feel every metal spring... I was 1 night on business travel booked by my company, not sure how cheap it is, but I hope at least the price is worth it. Something positive, very good area location if you are a tourist.

I love this place. It deserves a high rating. Classical Georgian mansion near Marble Arch with unbeatable location and charming staff. The main clerk, Viki, is a darling man with a sparkling personality. The rooms are breathtakingly beautiful by virtue of architecture however the furniture is worn, dated and mismatched. Hence the bargain price. Really an outstanding deal to stay in a once grand mansion. If it were remodeled the rooms would easily command 2 or 3 times the price. I recommend staying here, just don't expect cosmetic perfection. Instead enjoy the rare combination of elegance and thrift. Our room on the 1st floor was clearly once a grand salon, with gilded plaster work and highly ornamented detail, tall windows and curved mirrored doors all from the 1780s! But was furnished cheaply about 30 years ago. Always clean. Clean beds. Don't be put off by the dark 1970s style lobby it is really a great place run by great people. Perfect for our needs. I would stay here again. I'd even consider buying this hotel as an investment.

Stayed 3 nights during the travel disruption recently. Very basic rooms. Every surface was covered in dust, and not just overnight dust either. The carpets are stained. And the whole building could do with a paint job and some good decent cleaning. The enamel in the bath is stripping off and the shower head...... Breakfast was included, but they only started at 08:00. Have to be at work for 08:30 so wasn't able to try. Therfore can't comment on the food. This place could do with a visit from Alex Polizzi the hotel Inspector. It's situated in Marble Arch, so should be of better appearance. Also all the fire doors are wedged open. I know the weather as been hot over the last few days, but surly they should know health and safety rules.

Just spent two night in this place. Our room was filthy, walls were all stained. Mould in the bath tub; a total health hazard. The hotel is a dump at best. Our shower was not worth having, did not feel my belongings were safe in my room. Worst experience I have had for a long time. Why they have not been closed down is beyond me. Don't go ever.

The hotel was very disgusting, the bathroom was filthy and it smelled horrible. There was mold on some of the walls and some on the bathtub. The shower didn’t even work. The water didn’t come out from the shower head, instead it came from the connecting pipe. I would not recommend this and if you decide to stay here then I have something to say, good luck surviving 🤯

This hotel was filthy. The furnishings were broken and dirty and the room was falling apart around us. They use pictures on booking websites that do not match what you get when you arrive. I did not feel safe at this hotel whatsoever as the only thing keeping your door shut was a flimsy little night latch that would open with a strong enough breeze. This was by far the worst hotel experience of my life. We had booked for two nights but this hotel was such a a dump we cut our trip early and left after 1 night. You would have a more pleasurable experience taking your hard earned money throwing it into the bin lighting a match and watching it burn.

This was the first hotel I stayed at after flying from Detroit to Frankfurt, Frankfurt to London. We got soaked on the way to the hotel, I was exhausted, couldn't hear from my ears popping so badly on the plane, and I was so excited to just get in a nice, warm hotel room and relax on a nice, comfy bed. My actual experience was anything but warm, comfortable, or nice. First, the room was absolutely freezing. It was 53F in our room. It felt damp, musty, dingy, and dirty. I tried getting under the covers, with my coat on, trying to warm up while 2 of my roommates tried sorting out the temperature issue with the front desk, and to my absolute HORROR, there was a MASSIVE stain on the center of the bed that looked like someone either had given birth there or was a victim of homicide. It looked like a giant roughly circular blood stain, over a foot in diameter, in the center of the bed. I swear ro you I am NOT being sarcastic or exaggerative in the slightest. There was no other room large enough to accommodate all of us available, nothing was done about the bed, and the room temperature got to maybe 60F at best. The shower and bathroom were grimey. We were with a tour company and couldn't just leave and get our own hotel room somewhere else as we were all 16. It was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at.

For 1 night it was adequate. Price was good for centre of London, but room was scruffy, and the toiletries hadn't been re-stocked.

The location is good, but it is the worst hotel I never see in my life. The room is not cleaned, the bath towels are not changed and we need to ask the man to have news bath towels, the bed are not changed too. We have the breakfast in our formule but the man says no when we ask him. He is not friendly and he is not doing effort to understand what I say. In the shower, it is boiling hot or freezing cold and the power is to strong. The window is broken and we hear everything from the outside and inside of the hotel.

Stayed at end of June. Staff were fabulous, excellent service and hospitality, especially the chambermaid, Rubina. So helpful everyone. However, the hotel is very tired looking, the room was as clean as the staff could keep it but facilities were very poor. We were reluctant to use the shower due its poor quality. Hotel definitely needs a revamp as the staff were so willing so that let it down.

I had one night on my own. . Good location. Hotel had a lift as o was on 3td floor. Nice room. Bed with 3 pillows, tea, coffee, in room, tv , hair dryer , shower hot , toilet had a step so had yo be careful. Wash basin had soap which was empty., hand rail in bathroom was not good. Invent a hand towel and the rail fell down. 4 towels in the room.heater . I enjoyed my stay. Didvnot have breakfast went out instead very good value for money.

The place is a disaster! Dirty, smelly! The pictures do not cover the reality! We didn't have a minute left! Our money was not returned even after several requests! I do not recommend it to anyone!

Had to leave after first night and get a actually hotel for the rest of the week. Rooms and hotel are shocking. The smell was so bad you can't sleep. Years worth of dust and mildew. Dangerous sparking electrics, blew the fuse in my plug, and ceiling fan duck taped on. Very thin walls Bath only as showers do not work here Breakfast food was out of date and stale Pros Staff nice enough Location is good. Maybe worth it for lads night out if it's 50 quid a night. Never pay more Other find elsewhere

You get exactly what you pay for. A hotel at Marble Arch that cost nothing? Take a wild stab in the dark guess. It ain't great. Worth booking if only to see the growth on the man on receptions head, from nothing to 8 cm in 2 months. It needs looking at if you're a dr

Very old hotel, in need of urgent refurbishment. Lift to basement room can only take one person at a time and gets stuck between floors. Good part was the hot water and clean bathroom.

Location is great but that’s about it. This hotel probably hasn’t been freshened up since 1982, the bathroom is tiny and doesn’t feel clean, there’s for unexplained reasons no wifi or continental breakfast as their site says, the tv didn’t work either, and there’s no proper lighting in the room. Terrible value for money, I think you’re only paying for the location.

  • 2/5 Michael U. 2 years ago on Google
Locations good, a short walk from Hyde Park. I don't normally leave negative reviews..but. When we arrived the chap on the desk insisted we pay again for out room even after seeing our booking & payment confirmation and himself confirming hr had our booking but that we must pay again. After 15mins of saying no all of a sudden it was fine and we got our room key. I wonder how often this has been tried before with less savvy visitors. Room was basic but we understood that as it was a cheaper room, no issues there. Oh and when I was brushing my teeth in morning a Cockroach ran from under the sink to the bath... yeh
