The room was small and there is no where to put luggage except the floor but we made it work for a two night stay. The location is really good and very convenient but overall the hotel was a big disappointment for the high price we paid. It was far too warm and the temperature control did not work. The bathroom was the worst - tub dripping hot water constantly, handle falling off shower door and the shower itself was horrible. The lighting in the bathroom is dim which makes it really difficult to shave or apply makeup easily. Everything was already shut down for the night before 10pm on a Saturday.

Fantastic hotel in a lovely neighbourhood and centrally located (700m from the Victoria station). Great breakfast (pastries, fruit, salmon, boiled eggs each morning and even oats with chia). We stayed in room 5 and it surpassed our expectations in terms of size etc. Recently renovated. (Only thing is the need for a mirror above the desk to dry your hair sitting down.)

Lovely boutique hotel in a lovely neighborhood, with an easy to walk to many London tourist spots. We did have a small room but didn’t matter because it was clean, functional, and we weren’t there much anyway! The bar area has great ambiance and we enjoyed drinks at several different times of the day. If the majority of the staff was friendly, would consider five stars, but sadly only 2 staff members during our stay where the least bit hospitable.

Badly Liked the location of the hotel, good beds and comfortable pillows Dislike · Do you know the origin of the English word mews? MEWS in the time of Henry VIII denoted the cages in which King Henry's birds of prey were placed during the molt. Since then, the word MEWS has been preserved mainly only in the fashionable areas of Belgravia and Mayfair and has come to mean office rooms, as well as rooms for attendants and servants. So, we lived in the basement in MEWS 1 (photo attached). I must say that the room was spacious, the bath too. But... This is MEWS, so the window of the room looked out into a tiny space (photo attached). Probably for the same reason, the cleaning of the room was done very casually. The cups were not washed, sugar, soap, shampoo were not added. The bathroom is a different story. The shower cubicle is equipped with a fixed arm towards the shower door, with only the top hot water faucet working. That is, if you entered the booth, you will be doused with boiling water, if you opened the tap without entering the booth, you will be doused with water, but in addition, the floor outside the booth will also be flooded with water. Bath: comfortable with a flexible shower, all the taps are in working order, but ... there is no curtain ... so you need to wash very carefully, again, so as not to flood the entire room with water. But that's not all. The refrigerator in the room is inserted into the closet and, probably, therefore, it made a thin, buzzing sound that did not stop for a minute. In general, friends, think for yourself, decide for yourself ... We ordered an IMPROVED DOUBLE ROOM, you can easily find beautiful photos of the hall and rooms of this hotel on the website. I am attaching photos that are unlikely to appear in advertising. By the way, I was not too lazy to go up to the second floor of the hotel and take pictures of the signs with the directions of the rooms (rooms)

We stayed here for one night in late December. The hotel is incredibly decorated and very clean. Room was good size and everything we need. Staff super nice. It’s in a perfect location for sightseeing either by walking or the underground. Ignore the Google star rating, the bad reviews were done when the hotel was in previous ownership

I really cant understand all of these bad reviews. This hotel is a lovely boutique hotel with beautiful interior, located very centrally in Victoria, only a 5 mins walk to victoria station (must visit the food hall there - amazing food & drink spots as well as a rooftop bar!), a 15 min walk to Buckingham Palace and a lot of cute cafés and restaurants all around. The rooms are very clean and light, the bathroom really big (shower and bathtub) and the service very friendly. Yes, the walls are REALLY thin and you can hear your neighbours talking and walking. But at night time, it was quite and we were able to sleep and rest very well. Our room had a tv, king size bed, AC and was cleaned properly every day. I would recommend this hotel to anybody who wants a short stay in London, with lots of sight seeing to do during the day and is looking for a clean and central hotel to sleep.

We stayed for 3 night in this Hotel, the room was quite small, but nice, but when putting clothes away we discovered a big black bra in the wardrobe, which I then doubted how well the place had been cleaned. I took this to the receptionist and the thanked me, and wasn't very apologetic. The room was tidied while we went out, but the coffee sticks and biscuits weren't replaced, so overall, not the best experience here.

Best place to dine while in London. Mouth watering chicken and lamb. Excellent customer service. The Manager Libya and the waiter were very good to us. The rooms very clean and presentable. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful night in The Tophans hotel. Will definitely be back.

The one star that I put is for their location, but other than that this place deserves 0 star. There is nothing boutique about this place other than the lobby. The room is SUPER small, you can't even open your luggage on the floor, everything is freaking old, the faucets are rusty and dirty, the bath tub faucet is leaking all the time. So please don't trust the pictures as we did, because the room that you get is far from what you see in those beautiful pictures.

Great for location rooms nicely decorated would have been better with a sign near the door we walked past it in the dark and the guy who let us in when we rang the bell wasn't very friendly

Our stay was based on the location of Victoria Station I apparently did not do my homework as there were several other places in the same price range. I would not return

The room was a bit outdated. The bathroom sink would randomly spew more water long after using it. The bed was also too hard for my frail body. I asked for an extra duvet, and after some misunderstandings I got it and it helped. The man working the night-shift was an absolute godsend! Give that man a raise! He absolutely made our stay memorable. He went above and beyond to make sure we were as happy as possible.

Great boutique hotel in a nice and quiet neighbourhood. We could easily find something to eat nearby and walk almost everywhere from this point. Room was good for size and comfy bed. It was on the 4th floor and elevator only goes to the 3d floor. So we had to do a bit of steps with our suitcase. Room also had a bath which was super nice. Hotel now has a new restaurant, uni for lovers of japanese cuisine. The breakfast you get is continental. Pay extra for english breakfast.

We loved this sweet little hotel! What a pleasant surprise. Perfect for our family (2 kids/2 adults). Walking distance to good food, reasonably cool on a hot day, and very attentive staff. We loved the little upstairs loft for our kids, and the delicious fresh pastries in the complimentary breakfast! We would definitely stay here again.

I stayed there for 3 nights, its like a boutique hotel, rooms are bit small but the service was really good and everyone was really helpful. The Location is perfect, 5 mins away from Victoria station. 10-12 mins walk to Buckingham palace and Hyde park and around 20 mins walk from London Eye.

Very nice place. Receptionist went above and beyond. But the bartender had never poured a whiskey before. Walked away with a single and paid for a triple... but the place is nice, the bar area is super cozy and the beds are comfortable. The general area around the hotel is grand. Perfect place to start any exploration of London.

The staff were highly attentive and really positive the entirety of our stay. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is newly renovated and refurbished (over the course of the pandemic) and underwent a change in management in 2018, so a lot of the previous negative reviews are likely outdated.

My family had a great stay here! Everything is newly redecorated, new bathrooms, carpeting. Great location. Stellar staff! We are especially indebted to the very helpful, friendly front desk manager who shared the best tips for making the most of a short visit to London. I have already referred friends to Tophams Hotel, and we will stay again in the future if visiting London again. Beware if you are a large/tall couple. The double bed is more like a full bed by American standards.

I stayed in Tophams Hotel recently. The location of this hotel is too good. Big Ben, Buckingham Palace are less than a mile walking distance and so is Victoria station which is half a mile. Though currently the buffet breakfast area is not in service due to refurbishment work however the hotel rooms are decent in size and also hygiene is well maintained. The reception is always manned and whenever you call from your room someone is available to assist. There are many restaurant and eating joints in an around including laundry shops. Overall I was very happy with my stay.
