Absolutely sensational walk Feels like you’re far away from London in the best way. Plenty of spots to stop along the way and you can finish up in Finsbury Park

I visited here in April 2022 as part of walking the Capital Ring route around London. This is a peaceful walking route along a former railway line - it even includes some former platforms.

Beautiful place, great for a walk or cycling. I would not recommend it for road bikes as there are a lot of gravels...and sometimes broken glass. There are a few pathways with concrete but those are very narrow and pedestrians are all over the place. I found the path to be pretty flat in general so it was not very difficult to cycle all the way. Though, I came from the Camden area and the roads / surroundings are very hilly so it was quite an adventure to reach this place! If you have a car to tow your bikes to this place, it might be a more enjoyable experience! I encountered mostly families and dog owners in this park and everyone was very friendly.

A interesting & scenic walk along the old raised railway line. Fantastic graffiti. We started at Finsbury station.

I do enjoy walking the Parkland Walk when it's not rammed with runners or it's a mud pit. Graffiti art is always great to see as well, but its become more tagging. Hopefully this will improve as restrictions lift. @stokeywalkinggroup

5k of flat, disused railway line from Finsbury Park to Highbury. Lots of runners, walkers and dogs. Nice way to spend a Sunday and there’s a real cute coffee shop called Merro around half way.

A very pleasant walk along the path of an old railway line. Picked it up near Highgate Station and walked to Finsbury Park where it ends. I believe it starts a little further North but check that if you go! Many dog walkers, a few runners and a few cyclists. Quite a bit of street art and some old platforms still in place. Good way to pass time on a pleasant day.

Wonderful! I picked the perfect day as well to go out in the sunshine. I did a 10-minute meditation session sitting there about a quarter of the way through the walk. It's my second time I've been to Parkland Walk and it's worth the visit if you're a fan of nature. I'm certainly adding it to my regular lifestyle. There are two sections of Parkland Walk which I found out on my latest walk today. The South side stretches from Finsbury Park railway station to Crouch End (the photos from that I've already uploaded). The North side of Parkland is the Muswell Hill section which stretches to Alexandra Palace and I have some cracking pictures of that section for you!

An awesome walk through an abandoned railway line, a great spot for dog walkers or runners. Some great graffiti on the walk, definitely worth the walk just to see the old platforms. An interesting lost part of London’s metro.

Lovely walk along the disused railway line from Finsbury Park to Highbury. You would not know you were in a very busy part of London. Small nature garden also to stop off and walk around.

Great place for walking, especially during quiet times. Can get a bit busy during weekends. Otherwise peaceful walking path. Also during quiet times a great place to cycle with wide paths. The cycle is bumpy and gravelly so not boring. Best part is from Highgate to Stapleton hall. Full of wildlife also a small wildlife park at the Highgate end.

I’ve lived near the Parkland Walk for over a decade, and love having it nearby, as it functions as a good way to get away from the noise and the concrete of the urban sprawl, spend time amongst trees, and get some fresh air. There are multiple entrances, allowing you to join and leave the walk quite freely, and the path is dotted with things to discover, from the “Spriggen” sculpture to the varied graffiti, the “holloways” of trees and the various nature preserves, such as the alkali grasses and the garden at the Highgate end. Many people use it, so you will often find people waking their dog, out for a stroll, or getting exercise. Parkland Walk is one of London’s hidden gems, and well worth a visit.

This walk, an old railway conversion, is not fancy in any way, but it's perfect for runners and dog walkers. Its informal feel and graffiti that adorn the sides of the walk give it very Berlin-like atmosphere.

This is a very pleasurable walk alongside a disused railway line that runs between Highgate and Finsbury Park, as you step on to the pathway which is also included in a section of the London Chain, you will notice behind you the now extinct tunnel entrances. Along the walk you will find remnants of its transport links with platforms station walls now adorned with artistic features. A hidden extra on this walk because of its elevation is the views of the London skyline on your right hand side.

Great trail for a run, walk, dog walking or bike ride. ( not suitable for a road bike). An enclosed way to access north London using a disused railway. You can enter via finsbury park

We went in February when it was very muddy and no vegetation cover it was essentially just a path and on either side you could see Victorian terrace housing gardens on both sides of us. Lots of runners caked in mud weaving in and out of walkers and lots of big puddles and mud patches to avoid. It wasn’t a particularly interesting, beautiful or challenging walk. It was just a path. Hard to get excited about and hard to recommend. If going this time of year it is very advisable to wear proper walking shoes appropriate for the conditions. This is not a well kept pathway.

Absolutely stunning walk. We caught the Muswell Hill and walked down to Finsbury Park. Would absolutely do it again, and this time visit Queen's Wood Cafe too!

A good spot for a walk/jog which is typically far enough away from traffic etc that you won't hear it. The ground is quite uneven/covered in pebbles and prone to muddiness in poor weather, so bear that in mind. It's very popular, so it's highly unlikely that you'll have the place to yourself.

A challenging walk stretching from Highgate to Finsbury Park and a shade under 2 miles. Great for joggers, cyclists and dog walkers. It has several Tunnels along the way which is very popular with graffiti artists. Easy to get to as Highgate station is just 5 minutes walk away.

Great place to feel you are in the countryside when you're in the city of London, Walking, jogging, cycling, dog walking, sitting listening to the birds, admiring the wall art brightening the old railway embankment and tunnels. The trees, bushes and plants are as nature makes the the landscape, fallen trees are allowed to rot and make a home for all wildlife creature's, squirrels, Foxes thrive. No visit to North London is complete without enjoying a couple of hours in Parkland Walk.

Excellent place for a walk or cycle, out of the way of busy roads. Can be busy, but it's nice and wide as it was originally a railway line. You can still see some of the stops and platforms. It's like time forgot, and you have no notion that you are still in London, unless you glimpse some traffic, from some of the viaducts or bridges across the walk.

Very nice walk. You can walk on to the parkland walk north. We did not have enough energy. Good for a walk with or with out the dog.

We had never been here before and decided to come for a walk to get out of the house. It had rained a bit and some areas were muddy and puddly, but for the most part walkable. It was a peaceful getaway from London’s traffic noises. It was also interesting to see how nature had taken over the old railway platform.

The parkland walk is the remaining route of an abandoned Victorian railway line, and part of the abandoned northern heights project. Today, it is the longest linear park in London and a great way to journey between Finsbury park and Highgate. End to end is roughly 3km so makes a good track for a 5km run, and the details along the way such as the abandoned station at crouch end and fun interest points for kids. It can get a little busy and crowded by the nature of being a narrow linear park, but if you're looking for a dog walk, slow cycle, or place to run, few places compare to the flat and accessible secret hidden in North London
