It’s always calming to walk around these woods. It’s easy to wander off the path if you like to or keep to the circuit. Popular with joggers too, if you don’t mind the gradual inclines here and there.

I visited here in April 2022 as part of walking the Capital Ring route around London. This is a nice woodland for walks.

Lovely park, which once your inside makes you feeling like you're not even in the city anymore. You can't hear traffic noise or even see any buildings. Lovely paths to follow through the woods, a nice open field, excellent playgrounds and a great cafe all make it worthwhile coming here. We love in Enfield and we'll definitely be back!

It's a Wooderful (get it) place. Beautiful large nature area, woods, fields, cafe, toilets. It's lovely around 8 at evening in summer as fairly quiet and peaceful. Only thing I don't like is that you get asked to leave at 9pm as they close Nature for the night. Coming from the country I've never heard of such a thing. A whole woods being closed 😂😂

Highgate wood is a beautiful place to go for a relaxing walk, by yourself, with kids or even to exercise your dogs. It's big and well kept considering it is a wood. There is plenty of wildlife to peak at respectfully. We visited yesterday for the first time in a while and the woods look beautiful with the autumn leaves on the ground and falling from the trees. There is a playground for children with public toilets next to it, a big open field and across the other side, you can relax by the little cafe. Looking forward to going back.

Love this place. The forest is just amazing... For a walk/run/jog, just over a mile for 1 lap. Brilliant in the searing heat. Superb cafe in the middle. Don't go on the weekend, it's really busy. Unless of course you like that.

Beautiful green space between Highgate and East Finchley. Nice play area for kids. The woodland is maintained by rangers who are doing a great job at protecting them biodiversity and the thriving vegetation.

If you want to escape from the city noise, highgate being a 25 min from the center it’s a perfect place. And highgate woods it’s the cherry on the cake. A beautiful conserved zone with natural woods and a lot of history. You can have a nice walk in a whimsical land without the noise of the cars on a colorful environment completely out of the London scenery. Tall trees and a lot is crazy squirrels that, if you are lucky, you can see screaming at the dogs, actually part of them can reflect the very spirit of a commuter some times. Here you have a perfect place to walk your dogs, with poo bins across the place, an amazing zone to jog under the shadow of tall trees and the beautiful smell of nature with one or two leg burning hills. If you have kids, the second zone is perfect for you with activity areas and a play ground just next to the cafe (which I have never been). Tree soccer fields maybe more, are up to the ones that are more into the group activities, normally full with kids too and families distributed around. Highgate woods is the perfect place to have a nice menta rest. For a loner of the beautiful benches with memoirs of the old walkers, to the scenery out of a classical painting from a crazy renaissance era.

Lovely woods in the middle of London! I felt like I was out in the countryside. Nice little cafe too serving all you could need and with a dog-friendly seating area, although this space could use some sprucing up

Stunning on a sunny Sunday. Great if you want walk around the woods; plenty of trails and great shaded woodland walk. This is accompanied by a wonderful open field, great for sports, running around or lounging. Thankfully, there are also refreshment spots and lavatories. Will definitely be returning.

Highgate Woods has been my favourite place to walk for 28 years. It has everything... enough wildness to get lost for 20 minutes , a lovely sports field where you can watch the cricket in summer, free outside weight training then to cap it all a lovely cafe taken over by Hoxton Beach, fairly priced and delicious. The cafe is covered in summer by wisteria and is a delightful place to meet friends whilst listening to the woodpeckers.

Very pleasant place to visit, a lovely woodland area and green open space where they play cricket, plus a cafe and takeaway drinks and ice cream stand. There's a nice little children's playground too. Fun for all the family!

Spacious, cool, quiet, and a stone's throw away from Crouch End if you're looking to grab a decent bite to eat. A bit muddy at times so bring a pair of boots if you got them.

We love Highgate Wood, it's a great place to take your dog. We work on lots of different training there like recall, lead waking, engagement and lots of play. We can also work on confidence around other dogs and control as well.

Excellent place to comp for a walk, meet friends, exercise or have an ice-cream 😉 It has a playground for the youngest members of the family, a big flat area perfect for picnics, a coffee shop which sells delicious ice-cream, an area for playing cricket, and a small area for bodyweight exercises.

Nice place to hide from boiling hot sun. Lots of very old trees and interesting paths, with few benches on the way for you to sit and relax.

Beautiful old wood - still quite rusty. The dogs love it - a squirrel emporium! And on the hotter days we have been having the shade is welcome, cooler ground for their paws - a haven when the open spaces feel more like purgatory than pleasure!

I do love a walk around Highgate Wood, as there definitely is a sense of calmness and happiness whilst walking through these peaceful & spectacular woodland surroundings! 🪵🌳 Besides from the trail & large open spaces, the other facilities being available are a cafe and toilets. ☕🚾 Upon my recent visit, I was delighted to have found 1 out of the 25 donated benches from Netflix, in which commemorated Ricky Gervais's 'After Life'. 🖥 Traveling to and from Highgate Wood is very convenient. Especially with Highgate Station (Northern Line, High Barnet branch) being located opposite and there being a variation of bus routes stopping outside the park and in the high street. 🚉🚍

We had a lovely day to see the bluebells. I have never been there before. The bluebells are near Cranley Gate. Turn right at the gate as you enter the wood.
