Cool venue and okay sound system but extremely intrusive and aggressive security on the dance floor to the point we were uncomfortable as the guards were getting too close, staring and shining torches into our eyes. This created a really awkward and negative space. Also the crowd were very drunk, talking loudly on the dance floor and just a very annoying party.

This was the first time I visited Village Underground and it definitely won't be the last. I went to see Jake Shears and it honestly couldn't have been a better venue for a show. The space is intimate though not 'small' and the sound is excellent. There was a huge amount of energy on the night and the Village Underground just soaks it all up and delivers on the experience. If you're looking to see your favourite artists up close, or looking for a good club to hit then this place should be firmly on your radar.

Went to this place for my friend's gig the security in this place are extremely aggressive grab my friends throat literally because he walk the wrong route to smoking area which Is in building we expected to be outside because of smoking. Then threatened to chuck us out with he's hands again if we didn't apologise. This happen at around 10 pm on 19.09.21 I ask for manger he's name was ADAM PETERS he did not listen to me I ask for the security's name who was involved he would not tell me. He did not believe a word I was saying. I will be complaining about this matters further and will not be returning to this place again. Extremely disappointed

Great atmosphere and comfortable experience to see a gig here

Excellent gig venue. Sound and lighting first class. Not too large to have a real atmosphere (700 capacity). IDLES (billed as TANGK) were superb in this space

Went here for the first time to see Lucha Britannia. It's a great looking venue, with excellent service at the bar and a decent amount of toilets so the queue was never that huge. There was a fab atmosphere and it's a good size as well.

Cool and intimate venue. Bar has attentive staff and is surprisingly affordable. Acoustics are quite good. Bouncers are very strict and will ID you thoroughly regardless of how old you look, so bring your wallet.

Went here to see Guided By Voices. Great little sweatbox of a venue with a brilliant atmosphere for live music but didn't seem geared up for a sell-out event resulting in very long queues around the block - we arrived a good half-hour before the band were due onstage but only only just made it in before the gig started. Drinks were extortionate but that's just Shoreditch.

Poorly ventilated yet fabulous venue for SaySheShe concert. Top venue staff inside and outside security also very pleasant. Hope to see more live music there someday.

Great vibes, I love this music, so much better than that woke "Taylor swift" and "Beyonce" and "rage against the machines" but the ceilingd be high. If architecture is your passion you will love this place. How they utilise an old station to become a club is inspiring. Due to this I have decided to enroll in a masters in architecture at the university of bath #bunns

The most unpleasant aggressive and rude door staff I have ever experienced. Extremely pushy and impolite they insulted us upon entry and exit, and they decided they only accepted cash for some reason?? They also invented prices at the door. Utterly shocking behaviour for an average club with an average sound system. Go to FOLD instead.

Overall very nice place to party. But there are some points to know before going there. They search all parts of your pocket and wallet! If you use drugs and they see you; you will be expelled. The price of water for small water is 3 pounds and it's better to ask for tap water. I don't complain about drinks prices cause everywhere is the same. The lights and sound were amazing. Very happy about the techno party.

Interesting venue, perfect gig type venue. Was there for a corporate event so was presented well. Imagine the toilet situation can be difficult, long queues. Easy to get to, near stations.

By far my favourite venue in London. Could do with a few more lasers, but the size and sound system are perfect. Security and staff are friendly and polite.

If there was choice for zero stars I would give it zero. Me and my friend two females got kicked out for no reason when we enquired as to why they said ‘suspected drug dealing’ we were two females dancing. When we asked for why they suspected this they had no answer. It was ridiculous and a flat out lie.

In my opinion, one of the finest London nightclubs. The sound system is like nothing else, so loud yet so crisp. Security are friendly and respectful, the toilets are clean, the atmosphere is second to none. What more could you ask for?

We went to a really nice party and had a lot of fun! Good DJ and nice atmosphere. Diverse crowd. Music somewhat too loud for me personally. Would definetly recommend.

This is just one the best venues in London. Great sound system, reasonably priced drinks. Always something interesting on the lineup and the staff are phenomenal (unlike a lof of these kinda places). Great if you like your electronic music.

700 capacity venue in Shoreditch, around a ten minute walk away from Old Street station. Excellent sound and lighting. Bar prices are reasonable. Would happily go back to see more bands here.

Love this venue. Saw Fideles here on Saturday night just gone. I’ll definitely be back. The bar staff were friendly, the door staff were pleasant, even when full it was never too hectic or hot - all in all a massive YES

I absolutely love Village Underground, it's perfect when not too busy either. It's a cracking location in Shoreditch so lots of pre-places to go to. It's great for both live and DJ sets and has been such a while since last going, but was worth it totally! Nice staff, a good crowd and overall a lovely time all around. P.S. if a late one make sure to check out the bagel shop in brick lane. Till next time. Solid A***** LDT x

What a great venue. Front door staff were friendly and calm and patient. Good level of music and great sound. Enough toilets for size of venue. Only thing that let them down is that blonde young girl on the bar, she is vile. So rude and impatient. Basically threw our drinks at us and said she wasn't going to serve us any more because we called her out for her attitude. If you don't like your job, get a new one. Don't ruin everyone else's fun

Strong mould smell due to high level of humidity (asthmatics take care). The fog machine has not been used on the latest show, has been abused, I had trouble seeing where I was stepping on my way back from the bar.. that's not OK. Prices on drinks are fine, no problem on that, but I have asked for JD and coke, and I've been served something cheap. One lady from the staff asked at some point the DJ (Olympe) to not smoke at the Dj deck, but she had a vape, plus hundreds of people in the crowd were vaping like old steam train. I could say that the place has pros and cons, but the balance is not there.

An amazing venue that justifies their name with architecture. Loved the in-house audio system.

Came here to see Foushee and it was very spacious yet intimate. Only con was cash payments only in a cashless society🫠 it’s also difficult to find the entrance and took me 5 rounds of walking in circles to realise.

Great venue, good size and sound system/lasers. Has a cloakroom and a bar. Bought tickets on the evening and got in in no time, less than 5 minutes queue

Venue 9/10, Sound 7/10, Vibes 10/10, Security 9/10, one of the best venues for a club night in London. Only complaint would be a slight improvement to the sound system, but it still does the trick!

Not thorough enough with pre-checks. Many people let in without masks and COVID passports/negative tests!

Though a relatively small, it was a great venue and the concert felt intimate

Awesome venue. Quality architecture, great sound, been to two sweet events here now. Highly recommended for promoters running wrestling/boxing events and music events/DJ nights.

First time attending this venue. Saw We Were Promised Jetpacks play and was impressed with what a nice space this is. High, bare brick walls give the venue a bit of personality lacking in quite a few London music venues.

Really cool venue and nice friendly staff!! Great to be out and about again and its places like this that remind us the importance of these venues to come and enjoy ourselves. Thanks to everyone from the doorstaff to the cloakroom, bartenders and the aftershave guys in the bathrooms for making this a really great evening!!

Great intimate concert venue/art space. The staff were all polite and friendly. The acoustics were quite good as well. The washroom was also well maintained.

Awesome intimate music venue. Saw Injury Reserve there and it was great

The party I went to was so packed, there was no room to dance. Everyone in the crowd was just pushing and talking. Cloakroom was also full which is such a disappointment when you arrive at 0045 for a party that ends at 0600. Seems like they are a bit overzealous with their maximum capacity.

Polite and helpful staff: security, bar, cloakroom at this great little venue. No frills but everything that's there is perfect.

Great place for live music and a great place to dance cloakroom available and an allocated smoking area

This is a nice live music venue/nightclub. I bought tickets from their own website but you can use RA Guide as well (Resident Advisor). You might wait a little in the queue if you come later than 23.00. Drink prices are okay and there’s a cloakroom inside. The bus is the closest transportation around that you can use in late hours.

Not thr best venue when the music act is sold out due to its layout. Also drink selection is a bit sad.
