This park was remarkable, while not huge, walking around the lake taking photos of the ducks, geese and birds was good fun for photography enthusiasts. I've provided some pictures taken with my Nikon during my venture through the park. Highly recommend for someone looking to unwind and relax. Fantastic.

Situated next to Beckenham cemetery it is a large area with plenty to explore. There are paths throughout which bring you to a lake rich with bird life, child's play areas and small streams. Popular with walkers, runners, cyclists and a great place for nature photography.

When I first moved to the area a few people warned me agains the country park but I absolutely love it and have never seen any trouble or anything that would make me nervous. Big shout to the volunteers who help maintain it whilst ensuring it is still wild enough for nature to thrive. A great place for a walk.

This is an absolutely fabulous park in Norwood. There are beautiful open spaces to walk your dog and lovely paths under trees. There is a huge lake which is home to many birds and wildlife. Very relaxing part of London. Can’t recommend enough to spend some time walking here and it is surprisingly quiet.

A really lovely large park. Children's playground, a massive lake with 3 different piers which overlook it, a viewing mount you can see all around from, and a massive field. Really good for children to run freely, or cycle in.

This park is a proper wild oasis in South Norwood, with paths for walking/cycling and a large pond with viewing platforms. Also includes a visitors' centre, a children's adventure playground and a pitch & putt. The paths can get very muddy after bad weather so wellies essential in the winter, but lots of different wild birds to see - waterfowl and song birds/birds of prey. Look out for the ring-necked parakeets as they squawk across the sky! Wildlife Watch, a club for young environmentalists aged 6 - 12, meets monthly. Open all year round, is a bit hidden away but can be reached from various tram stops including Beckenham Road and Arena. Open from dawn to dusk

South Norwood Country Park has nice trails and it generally feels like you could be somewhere out of London. A nice place to go for a walk. It can get very muddy during wet weather.

Fun park with great paths for cycling around. Fairly flat so not strenuous and very quiet considering it's just off of a main road - great little escape after work. Not usually too busy.

An easily overlooked gem of a park. An excellent place to jog or walk. Plenty of alternative routes to keep visits interesting. The large lake tucked in one corner is rapidly maturing and beginning to attract an ever widening variety of bird life. To sit on the viewing platforms, to ponder, to relax and just watch the birds is ......need I say more.

It's a lovely place to visit especially with kids, there's a small playground which is decent. The picnic area is nice with quite a few tables about 4 or 5. There's a pond and a lake which are very pretty, would definitely recommend it to anyone, a great place to visit.

Fantastic country park to walk around, very quiet and peaceful. Lots of local wildlife and an excellent lake with view points and decking. A well run parkrun is hosted here every Saturday.

Dog walkers multiple times a day (yet pretty poo free). Children’s play areas, one for bigger (or braver) kids, the other for younger. Random groups of people seem to be ‘Doing Things’. Lots of bikes. One lake, one stream, one pond (or huge puddle). One very random collection of shopping trolleys behind barbed wire. Having been round here with a running group I can say that all the small bumps add up to make A Huge Mound. It is unbelievably easy to get lost in this small area due to the bumps and hills and fences and streams. It’s actually a labyrinth. It is however, not the countryside. It has tram stops at three corners and a main road on the other side. There are newsagents, a leisure centre and a train station. And it has all the problems of an unlit area in South East London, with hillocks and hedges and dark paths. But hey. You won’t go 2 minutes without seeing a dog walker. If you want to go at night, let us know what it’s like.

A good wild park. Don't expect green fields with trees and benches, this is a wet land. There are a couple of fields, but the rest is wild with good tracks and paths throughout. Great for cycling, fine for buggies, lovely for dog waking. Access is easy via car park, foot or tram stops. There is a children's play area which caters for tots up to teens. Alongside a simple cafe for tea and coffee and toilets, which aren't open all year around, so don't count on being able to pop in! In autumn/ winter the whole park and play area are quiet.

Good for walkers dog friendly. The small lake has interesting birds ducks geese even Swans.Magnet fishing has uncovered old safes and other metal objects.Summer changes brings more people and changes for birdwatching and better wheather. Restrooms not open in some of the winter months As is the swing park. Still a good place often see foces in daylight. Also tried to get a photo of an egret that was fishing in the stream but it flew off.

Lovely nature big park! Everything is untouched and wild. There is a beautiful lake where you can sit on a bench in front of it and enjoy the view and the silence disturbed only by the sounds of the birds. There is a great playground as well!

South Norwood Country park feels like you're in the countryside. Plenty of pathways if you're going for a run or long walk. Look out points around the lake where you can admire the wild life. If walking in the winter wear wellies as there are some soggy areas.

Great park for an explore around. My two children love it and we have been visiting since they were babies. The play area and cafe are also excellent! It's such a fun park to explore! The Crepes from Queen of Crepes are amazing, I can't wait to try more!!

Love the place and so do our dogs. You'd never know your in South London, well until you hear police sirens and see the police helicopter above you 😉

Great place to get away from the speed of the surrounding area. Great runs and dog walks. It could do with having a cafe on-site

Great park for walking cycling etc. Or take your binoculars and see what you can spot in the trees, wetlands, hedges or the pond/lake. Went to the opening of the park been going there ever since good wild(ish) spot in suburban southeast London. Can get busy but good path network ☺️

Great place for a walk. You can just walk around and explore, take your kids to the playground, go to the lake and watch the ducks, and more. Just generally a great place to go to if you are going out for a walk.

Used to be a stunning area. Lived right next to the park entrance and used to go there everyday. I Moved away and revisited recently and in the 4 years since I left it’s become awful! Croydon council have completely neglected it. It’s Full of dog poo and litter, everything is dying. Obviously been some fires there too. They have chopped loads of trees down but then not planted or done anything else to it so now it’s just a boring overgrown wasteland. Full of shady characters. The skyline from the hill is ruined with new buildings that have popped up recently. Very sad

It is a small natural haven. But the closeness to open tram lines and open exits onto busy roads is not child friendly. Visitor Centre closed but fortunately playground well organised into age areas & well maintained. Not suitable for long walks.

Was very wet and muddy after heavy rain. Good fun for a walk or run. Can be busy. I wouldn't want to cycle in the park as the paths are narrow.

  • 4/5 Kercia F. 3 years ago on Google
A large park with a countryside vibe to it. It has a large lake and some streams running through it here and there. Paths along the designated cycle route nice and wide to cycle. Others not on the cycle route not so wide. It can get very muddy during Winter, so bring your wellies! I’ve never seen the information centre or the Pitch & Putt open, so I’d like to see that open. Excellent to sit next to the stream to relax. You can hear the variety of birds tweeting and the occasional rumble of a tram. I would 5 stars, but there is a bit of litter such as cans and plastic bags towards the sides of the paths, ditches and bushes. Overall, a great park.

A wonderful semi-wild space a short walk from Norwood Junction. Dirt paths form a variety of walking/running/biking circuits, there's a duck pond, a large-ish playground and a huge mown area for a kick about.there is a regular Park Run here too.

Wintry and muddy but a wonderful place to forget you are in London and enjoy nature.

  • 4/5 Nick W. 3 years ago on Google
Not manicured, this is as close as you'll get to a countryside experience in this part of London, it's quite atmospheric. That's in a slightly unkempt way, but I mean that as a compliment. Served by National Rail at Birkbeck and Norwood Junction, and the Tramlink.

  • 4/5 Erika F. 3 years ago on Google
Great little park for a stroll with the dogs and kids! I've come here recently to avoid the masses at Crystal Palace Park. When you're away from the roads and trams you forget you're in London ☺️ Paths can get a bit muddy in the winter though so wear wellies!
