Avoid This "Hotel"! My recent experience at the Palace Court Hotel can only be described as a nightmare. It feels wrong to even call it a hotel. It's a place I wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy, as it left us deeply disappointed. From the moment we checked in, it was a continuous series of unfortunate events. First and foremost, our room had an unwelcome guest: A MOUSE. In the middle of the night, we were woken up by this visitor moving the plastic bag (the footage is attached below). Needless to say, this incident left us sleepless and concerned about the overall hygiene of the accommodation, which is terrible. After a restless night due to the mouse, the following morning, the fire alarm went off, causing distress among all the guests. However, the staff failed to communicate that it was a false alarm, leaving us in a state of panic as we rushed to the lobby in our pyjamas. The mouse was not the only issue as the list of problems with this hotel is endless. The water pressure in the bathroom was so bad, making even the simplest tasks like showering almost impossible. We couldn’t even think about washing our hair with that bad pressure. Additionally, we had to wait for at least five minutes every time we needed warm water in the shower, which is also ridiculous. Countless essential amenities are missing in this “hotel”. There was no lift, which is not good if you have heavy luggage or mobility issues. Furthermore, the absence of Wi-Fi in the rooms was incredibly inconvenient in this day and age. Our towel situation was equally absurd. On the second day, the housekeeping staff removed our used towels, but they didn't provide fresh ones until we specifically requested them. This lack of attention and disregard for basic guest needs was both frustrating and disappointing. Walking around the room was an adventure of its own, as the floor creaked loudly with every step, making it feel like we were staying in a haunted house. Adding to our discomfort, there was no trash can in the room. There was also an issue with the toilet not flushing properly, which made it inoperable and caused a significant inconvenience for basic needs. In summary, I cannot stress enough how much I would discourage anyone from staying at this “hotel”. Every moment spent there felt like a scene from a horror movie. Save yourself the trouble and seek out more suitable accommodation that prioritize your comfort and well-being.

I stayed here for 3 nights during my trip to London. The nearest underground stations where I landed from Heathrow was Bayswater. From there it was 8-10 mins walk through the lovely neighbourhood The hotel does not have a reception and the door pin is messaged around the check in time. I reached about 9 pm and found the door open as their were painting work in progress. The room keys were kept in a small box and the combination was also messaged to me around 3 pm. My room was on the 2nd floor and did not have any elevator. Thus not a place for someone with mobility challenges On entering the room I was more amused than shocked. I have never ever stayed in such a tiny room. Even hostel rooms I have stayed are bigger than this. There were hardly any place to keep our luggage and once we open them on the floor we just had to hop, skip and jump to move from once place to another. In terms of facilities there were a coffee/ tea maker much to my happiness as the chill of London summer caught me unguarded. The bathroom was small while the shower room did not allow any feee movement of hands to apply soap. I had to use all my wits to ensure that my body doesn’t touch the cold tiles on the wall as it sent shock waves through my body. The room heating was optimum and it worked well. I was lucky to have a window in my room and having a morning tea looking outside was a pleasure of a holiday that I appreciated. After getting fresh I checked in about 7-8 pubs and found the kitchen closes between 8-9 pm, while alcohol is served till 1130 pm. Thus picked up food from Burger King near Bayswater station. There is one Indian restaurant down the road called Durbar that serves food late and it allows to carry your own booze. The next day I made use of this innovative combo. In the morning room service does clean the room without being told. I appreciated this as it’s not there in most hotels of this category in London. London is quite expensive to stay and this tiny place did not obviously justify the money I paid. However I loved the neighbourhood, the easy access to Underground, the easy access to bicycle, stores and restaurant around. Thus a good place to reside definitely. Overall I feel it’s expensive and would give it a miss next time.

What I can say is that it was cheap and central. Room was clean, but quality of decor and facilities was very basic and it was tiny. There was hardly enough room to get in with my two bags. Ensuite bathroom with floor tiles broken, there was a free breakfast with a limited selection of foods. Reception staff were not not engaged or engaging. Unfortunately on this experience I won't return.

Wouldn't even recommend this place to my worst enemy. Looked nothing like the pictures, lots of people constantly sat on the front doorstep, felt very uneasy walking into the building. Here's a short list of everything terrible about this place: - Plaster was crumbling off the walls everywhere - No toilet paper in the rooms, or toilet paper holders - Shower water pressure was awful - Only one pillow and it might as well have been a wet napkin (We literally went and bought our own pillows) - Our window only had one curtain, which wasn't even long enough to cover the full window, there was about a 6 inch gap at the bottom, couldn't get changed without feeling watched. - Strange marks on the walls, fingerprints and scuff marks - The floor creaked with every single step - The room is basically student accommodation but worse. - Extractor fan didn't work - Shower was mouldy - No one on reception, ever. You get your own key from a lockbox (Which is advertised I guess) - No WiFi in the rooms, but in the lobby (Great!) - The kettle and tea and coffee is kept in the wardrobe??? (With plastic spoons, not even metal) - Bed was literally on a slant, and was so springy it was basically a bouncy castle. - Window that wouldn't stay open (With loose nails and screws on the windowsill for entertainment) - No actual bin in the room, only a tiny sanitary bin in the bathroom. - Weird stains on the towels, including blood and something that looked like earwax. - No hairdryer in our room (but one in my friends room) - Walls are paper thin, which is expected in a hotel, but I could fully hear our neighbours conversations word for word And that is the short list. 100% do not recommend, if I was staying here by myself I would've turned a run away, it felt super unsafe and very uncomfortable.

Great basic hotel if you just need somewhere to sleep. Room very basic: bed wardrobe tv and kettle. Nowhere to put anything, needs a chair. Very clean :) No reception staff. Felt a little unsafe as main door left unlocked and room just had a basic yale lock and window was a sash window that didnt lock, Slept very well, very quiet Lovely location, would stay again

sooo many things to say about this place. the receptionist wasn’t helpful at all & was barely there. we witnessed multiple guests try to find the receptionist to get help for different things & the receptionist was nowhere to be found. a guest asked for more toilet paper, a pillow, & blanket & the receptionist said they didn’t have any…uh hello you’re a hotel?? also witnessed guests come to the receptionist saying they found a mice & all the receptionist said was “what’s your room #” then proceeding to going back to doing nothing. they had to literally beg the receptionist multiple times to do something. the wifi only works in the lobby which made no sense. the hallways smelled like piss. on our last night, we also witnessed a mice in our room ourselves & realized we couldn’t stay there anymore so we scrambled to find another place to stay. we tried to contact & ask for some sort of compensation & they haven’t responded. that’s probably why they don’t allow you to cancel or offer a refund option once you’ve booked. the only thing positive about this place is the location. it’s in a posh neighborhood & about a 10min walk to the queensway underground & hyde park. there’s a bunch of a lot of good & affordable eateries. that’s it. will never book here again & i recommend others to do the same.

Everything was awesome. Best hotel i have stayed in in london. The spot is perfect for a lot of reasons. Firstly the underground is easily accesible and you can go everywhere fast and easy. The place there is alive. Many people , many families and many but many restaurants of all kinds. The view was also very interesting. I highly recommend

Clean, nice area. They cleaned the room every day of my stay. there is self check-in and check-out. Just read the instructions they give via email and it's super simple to deal with it. If you are not pretentious people I would recommend it! 😍Enjoy

We’re staying in room G04 and were awoken at 5AM by the sound of rustling through a plastic bag and as if a rat were running around the floor. This, in addition to the fact that the day before we found our bag CHEWED through. There were two holes in my bag and a ziplock airtight bag with cookies had been chewed through in over five spots. Not to mention that, since I hadn’t yet understood what had happened, I ATE a few of those cookies which, as it turns out, had been contaminated by a rat the night before. This leaves to question my potential health and if any disease had been spread over this food (that was in an isolated bag). As a response to this, the hotel has appeared to be completely negligent towards us. At 5AM we called the line and were lucky to have someone at the reception, who came to “inspect” the room but did not seem to be surprised by the occurrences (there have been 4 rat complaints on Booking regarding this hotel in the last month). He said that there was nothing he could do about the rat and was unable to even change our room as he didn’t have any spare keys… Besides the fact that our night of sleep was now ruined, we were stressed the whole time waiting for it to be 12 o’clock: the only time at which it was convenient for the “manager” to show up. In the time being we have made multiple calls to different numbers provided, and none of them are willing to do anything. The maximum they have offered is to transfer us from rooms but that’s not at all reassuring given the amount of rat complaints coming from different rooms. The guy we had on the phone even had the AUDACITY to justify this occurrence as something completely normal in London— washing away all accountability. Additionally, a maintenance guy came to the room with a glue gun after hearing what had happened, and, without asking any questions, approached specific parts of the room with a glue gun to fix the carpet— as if he knew exactly where the problems were. These people are not interested in the wellbeing of their customers or even making amends for the physical damages that have been caused or even compensate us for the previous nights. This hotel is not equipped with the facilities to be operated without a reception due to the fact that they can’t even handle a crisis from a distance. Furthermore, the questionable hygiene conditions leave a lot to say. The four people we talked to couldn’t care less and were apparently very accustomed to this type of issue yet had no plan in place to respond to it. We cannot be more exhaustive than to say that this hotel is in deplorable conditions with unequipped and careless staff that are only concerned about getting their customers out of the way without repairing damage or giving adequate compensation for their own mistakes.

Thinking what you pay for staying here, the hotel is very good. Yes, the rooms were small and the decorations old, but it was clean enough, you had breakfast included and it has a great location. I was scared that it would be cold in the rooms after reading the reviews, but it was hot enough for us to stay inside with only a short sleeve t-shirt. The bed was not large, but big enough to accommodate my, my husband and our 22 months old baby. I am very happy with what I got for the money I paid.

Stayed 2 nights to take my 11 year old daughter to Winter wonderland for her birthday. Lovely helpful welcome, really great room for a family of 5. Free continental breakfast was a great start to the day.

I have mixed feelings about the Palace Court Hotel. Pluses go to: +Location (approx. 7 min walking distance to Bayswater Underground Station); plenty of supermarkets and restaurants around, Hyde Park just around the corner) +Staff: super friendly Minuses go to: - Cleanliness: a bit dusty and I doubt that the carpet floors (that are basically everywhere) get regular hygienic inspection. - Single room size: maybe it was just tough luck but the room I had was tiny. And I mean "How on earth am I supposed to move"-tiny (mind you, I am 1.59 in height and 58kg) Breakfast was alright. I can, nevertheless, recommend the hotel as I understand the general circumstances of accommodation are pretty much the same no matter where you stay in London (based on average travel budget).

For the price we paid we were impressed by the location, central and convenient. As you would expect it was very no thrills, but clean enough, and a good place to crash for the night after exploring London. The rooms have no tea and coffee making facilities but we were very surprised by the free continental breakfast, which wasn't the best quality food but had a good selection and extremely generous considering the cost of the room.

I stayed for 1 night on my own while I was in the city for a conference. The room was tiny, but very clean. Same with the on suite. Breakfast was included in the price and was basic but good enough (options were toast with various condiments, cereals, cheese and tomato, yogurt and canned fruit, boiled egg). There was a lot of banging around at about 9.30pm which lasted about 20 mins, and it sounded like people were running up and down stairs a lot/past my door (which had a staircase each side) through the evening, but it quietened down when I went to sleep. TV was included in the room too. I would user or again for a one night stop over but not a longer stay.

The description of “basic hotel with unfussy modern decor” says most of what you need to know about the Palace Court Hotel. Slightly cramped, and odd smells as you move through the hotel were low points. The breakfast was a little strange - a bowl of boiled eggs, cucumber, uncooked tomato, some sliced cheese, tinned fruit, toast, and cereal... Can’t complain too much though, as it was a free breakfast! However, it is very cheap for its location, the building itself is nice and clean, and their use of the space in the original high-ceilinged rooms is fairly impressive! Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a cheap hotel in the city centre.

You get what u pay for. Unfriendly staff not one said morning I got a few smiles off the younger guys on reception. When I checked in it was a older man not friendly at all. Was put in a room next to the boiler room which sounded like a washing machine on spin at 7am and again til around 12. 30am AVOIDED BASEMENT ROOMS. Good breakfasts. And great shower very small. . Nice pub just over the road. With bikes and tube all with in 6 min walk. But would stay again ? No
