Not 5*, but a nice hotel in a great location. Rooms are generally nice, though some are quite small. No carpets, so can feel cold, even with heated toilet seat. £50 for a curry, naan, and glass of wine on room service. Very limited food options otherwise. Ignored emails related to an incorrect invoice so service takes a significant hit. Had to check out and back in to a room due to an extended reservation for work which is hardly what you expect from a hotel at this level.

We stayed last month and it was nothing but first class service and friendliness. All the ladies at the front desk were very helpful. Unfortunately I can't remember their names but they all do a very good job and helped make our stay wonderful. The room and facilities were clean and in top shape as well. We will be back to stay again.

The quality of the service at this hotel is not that of ‘five star hotel.’ What I experienced was 1)over flow of water from shower room immediately after check in, which we informed the front desk and which nobody took care until I visit the front desk in person 2)slow response to the customer’s request such as additional brackets - unless you don’t ask them several times they do not help you. This hotel used to be so nice with good quality of staffs 2 years ago, but I can’t feel so now. Better to chose the other hotel.

Disgusting. The manager is a joke. We make a booking for 730 for birthday dinner. We arrive at 7 for a drink. We were then told that they had no record of our booking but that they would come and speak to us at 8. By 840 the manager decides to come over to tell me he is too busy to listen to my complaint. He then refuses our business. When I tell him that he has left my diabetic partner without food and my friend without a birthday dinner, he gets in my face in a threatening manner asking me if I "want a problem". Classless. Avoid

The location is great but that’s about it. I still cannot believe that the hotel is five stars, while it should be max 3. Here’s why: - Stained sofas, cheap looking furniture and no carpets. Rooms feel cold. (We asked personnel if they could do something with the badly stained couch. Person came, looked and touched and commented “well I guess they couldn’t clean it”. - SPA that is so nicely advertised - not working at all - You have to pay to watch any movie on tv in the room, regular free channels don’t work - Breakfast buffet is very basic with no options for vegans - Indian restaurant serves very average food - Staff speaks English in a way you can’t really understand - no one to help you with your heavy luggage while leaving the hotel (there’s 4 steps to get in - no wheelchair platform - is this even legal? - hairdryer stops working after 1 minute of using Do not recommend this place at all !

Great hotel with a unique feel! Only down side was the reception staff weren’t overly friendly. Definitely worth a visit if you want to stay somewhere unique with it’s own style and history

Indian hospitality at its best by London Bridge ! We had booked few rooms and the team thoroughly enjoyed their stay. Special thanks to Harshith the manger at the restaurant who made us feel special. The restaurant food was awesome. Spoke to the Chef from Udupi which is the mecca of vegetarian delights . Great breakfast/ snacks and dinner experience.

Maybe the label as a 'small luxury hotel of the world' gives a higher expectation, as I didn't find much special about the hotel unfortunately. Pros: - Location is great - Nice building - Heated toilet seats Cons: - Service was mediocre, simple greeting, payment and then pointed to my room - Ground floor room (006) didn't have blackout curtains meaning the streetlight seeped in all night - Beds are hard, but that's personal preference - Rooms are quite sparce for a 5*. Stayed in better 3-4* hotels

Was a nice hotel, staff are friendly, room was very nice and spacious! Tv is a “scam” as it shows a selection on movies but then it makes you pay 5/10 pounds to watch a movie . Also very strange advertising on there Tv NOT Kid friendly

Room did not present the wow factor I was seeking for a 5 star hotel at least. Service was exceptional - very polite and friendly staff. Location - hmm, London Bridge is quite a mundane location, but that is no fault of the hotel itself. Overall, thank you but no thank you.

Everything about the hotel is great, the location, the service and I think the price is amazing for what they offer. The beds also are worth mentioning. I will definitely be using this hotel again when I visit London in the future.

The room was immaculate and the staff looked after our every need. It is located just behind Tower Bridge (2 min walk) which is excellent. Its about 10min from London Bridge underground station. Lost of shops nearby, and the Ivy is just round the corner for breakfast. The spa was closed as was the restaurant for evening and meals which was very disappointing as the food is meant to very good. Communication with Lalit via there contact us option on the website is not very good, they did not receive any of my communication prior to us arriving. However they make up for that later. The toilets are amazing, it's worth booking just to try them. I would book again with out hesitation, it's a 5 star hotel in a listed building on the banks of the river Thames, what's not to like.

The hotel location was the best part of our stay, very close to tower Bridge, London Bridge area and close to tubes, buses and the Thames boats. I found the hotel to be good but value for money was lacking, small room with only a shower. Service was good although we did have a charge of £9 for some oat milk for coffee, though was removed. We also had some communication issues before arriving and on turn charged a lot more than when the booking was confirmed so this was already off-putting before arriving. To make up for it we were promised a room with a view of the shard...it was a little laughable as the view was a bit rubbish and literally just the tip you could see.

Unique hotel with history to it. Great service from the staff and gorgeous large rooms. With a pricey deposit of £50 per night, we were excepting the deposit to be returned to us within a reasonable time. However it’s been 10 working days and still haven’t received it back unfortunately. Make sure to note that getting your deposit will take awhile… [edit: it has been 15 working days and they told it would take 10 working day to get our deposit of £250 yet we have not recieved it. We will be calling and hence why my rating has gone down a star...]

This is not a 5 star hotel. I would be generous with 4 -. Pro: Location, Service (everyone is very accommodating), breakfast ( I LOVED the Indian breakfast), room very quiet. Cons: Room is old. WiFi was not working in my room (I flagged this several times to the reception with no success), cabinet broken, toilet paper not new when I arrived, holes in the bathrobe and once the room was cleaned my pijamas was thrown on the sofa, without even folding it. I am still expecting an email from the management, but 2 weeks after my stay nobody has contact me. I will be looking for a different accommodation on my next travels to London. If I book (and paying) a 5 star hotel I am expecting to be one. Big potential, but lots to do.

Had a great stay here for valentines weekend. The rooms were clean, bed was really big and spacious, room had a complimentary minibar too which was good. The hotel itself is lovely decorated and is close to amenities. The only thing is the restaurant and spa is closed which I wasn’t aware of when booking.

Very good indeed. Lovely building, excellent location (Thames, London Bridge and Tower of London literally behind hotel) and the rooms and facilities modern and well proportioned. Great selection of soaps, shampoos and toiletries. Towel robe and slippers for two were well received too. Great service and pleasant staff. Recommended stay.

We had a fantastic time at the Lalit during our stay in this hotel. If you're looking for a break from the standard modern chain hotels, Lalit is you answer. Nested in a remodeled grammar school it retains some of the old charm while blending it with modern chic. We also loved that the breakfast had delicious options- both western-style and Indian. The staff was very attentive and courteous. We booked the senior classroom type room, which was quite spacious. The room had a free minibar which was a nice touch with munchies and soft drinks. Location is a convenient 2 min walk to tower Bridge and couple of bus stops. The only issue we faced was with the stairs at the entrance and in the hotel alleys- because we had a baby in a stroller.

Loved my stay here. So much more character than the standard cookie cutter chain. Very helpful and engaging staff. And naturally very convenient for all London Bridge / Shard / South Bank activities.

Lovely hotel. Rooms are clean, quiet, comfortable and spacious. Pillows have a label on them identifying if they are firm or soft. Complementary drinks and snacks impressive. En suite has heated loo seat, plenty of toiletries and is roomy. Staff are friendly and helpful. Service discrete and unobtrusive. Didn't eat here so cannot comment. Location is 5 minutes walk from London Bridge underground and a short 8 minutes stroll to restaurants, shops and cafes. Great position.

We had lunch here during our London stay and really enjoyed the food, ambience and service. The veg appetizer paneer tikka and main course kadi pakoda were one of the best we have had. And the setting with blue background and chandeliers add to the experience. Overall a great experience!

Stayed in a senior classroom which was big but also a little stark - white walls and not much in the way of furnishings. A nice vanity unit and the sofa positioned differently would really lift the rooms as it felt some of the furniture was past its best. Aside from that we had a lovely stay with great service and lovely food for both dinner and breakfast. Not quite sure why the menu isn’t published anywhere (the website to the restaurant doesn’t exist) as this was one of the best Indians we have had in a long time. If the bedrooms had a little more spent on them this would be a very high standard hotel.

Chai afternoon tea was amazing. Food and service was impeccable. The hotel is a old school building beautifully restored and original. Dining is in the old school hall. The food was a real treat, flavourful, great variety and tasty. I highly recommend. We had a Groupon voucher and so even better value. Will go again for an evening meal and a walk along the Thames.

exceeded all expectations. Impeccable service, luxurious accommodations, and a prime location. The attention to detail, from the elegant decor to the outstanding amenities, made my stay truly memorable. The staff's hospitality was unparalleled, ensuring a seamless and delightful experience. I highly recommend The Lalit for a sophisticated and indulgent stay in London.

Beautiful hotel, service was amazing, concierge was the most friendly and helpful person ever. Housekeeping and check in lovely. Breakfast was filling and impressive. Room was a senior classroom and the views were amazing! Highly recommend a stay in this awesome London Bridge hotel.

This is a lovely boutique hotel with adequate, not good, service. It’s not a 5-star hotel as advertised, and doesn’t have the amenities and service you’d expect from a 5-star hotel. I have stayed in many 5-star hotels in London, and this was the least posh. For instance, although there are many steps to get to the entrance, there is no doorman to help with luggage. To get a cab is not easy, as there are not many front desk staff. When I arrived early, instead of offering to store my bags and contacting me when my room was ready, the attitude was I was inconsiderate for showing up early and bothering them. There are no slippers even though the rooms have wooden floors with no rugs. These floors also make for loud rooms if you have someone above or next to you. There are no sheer drapes so you have to have the curtains drawn or be seen by the nearby neighbors or outside passers by (I was in a senior classroom on the 1st floor - 2nd floor to Americans- facing east). Housekeeping is inconsistent, didn’t fill creams or Diet Coke, for instance (but the complimentary snacks and a couple of drinks is nice). The breakfast is quite good, with inconsistent service. Overall a lovely place, a 4-star hotel for sure, but missing the excellent service and extra touches you would expect in a 5-star hotel.

Boutique hotel. Old schoolhouse conversion. Really nice. A wow factor in various rooms. Stay here if you’re looking for elegance, quiet and out of the ordinary. Prices are reasonable for what you get.

Fabulous hotel with lovely staff who can’t do enough for you. Food and cocktails are brilliant. Gorgeous building sympathetically refurbished with a colonial feel. We will definitely be back!

A beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of Tower Bridge and Tower of London area. The Queens walk is just a stone throw away as well many shops and restaurants. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The rooms are very nice and clean! The in house restaurant was very nice and convient for breakfast. The only thing keeping this from 5 stars in my review is the view from our window was directly inside other peoples apartments (so they had a view right into our room).

I stayed here for 3 weeks. Overall the experience was amazing. The hotel was an old boarding school before .. so you feel when you enter in its like an old European movie 🤩.. the rooms are large comparing to Europe rooms and clear ..its having free mini bar and they refill it daily ( biscuits, chips, soft drinks, water coffe and tea) whaich I didn't see it in any other hotel in Europe. the bathroom is luxury having toilet with warm seat and automatic cleaning. They clean the room twice everyday. The hotel was few meters from tower bridge and lots of near resturant. London bridge Station around 7 minutes walking distance. I didn't try the breakfast or the resturant but they have a fine dining Indian cuisine. I definitely recommend it for any one who want to stay near London tower/bridge area.

I attended a 3 day workshop at the Lalit Hotel. It's about 7 mins walk from London Bridge station and close to all the major attractions in that area. Its a well know and famous Indian hotel rich in culture and filled with history. The food was amazing and the staff were very friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend a stay or visit if you're in that part of the city.

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The building itself is a beauty but all the Indian decoration make it even more special. Rooms with good size, complementary minibar. I loved the option to order an Indian breakfast with a Dosa (Indian pancake) and Idli. Also booked the Indian Afternoon tea which was very nice. The team is beyond friendly and I truly felt at home at the LaLit. Can't wait to book another stay with them

Breakfast is amazing. Dosai and all the trimmings. Delicious and satisfying. I love this hotel. Minor issue, it's possible to get stuck if you forget your key card. Service is outstanding.

Lovely hotel, great location. One star removed because the hotel bar closes at 11pm on a Saturday, I mean come on, in London and closed at 11pm for residents, very disappointed with that as we wanted a nice cocktail nightcap. Really put a dampener on the experience. Luckily pub over the road is one till 1pm.

Stayed in one of the suites which was beautiful, comfortable and very spacious, and had a lovely bathtub. Top marks for the toto toilet also. Fantastic preservation of the old school features. Great location. However, service although amiable is not very effective (for instance my TV wasn't fully working and they were unable to fix). Also, disappointed with the breakfast - very average English breakfast (and poor coffee), not as promised on the website, because the restaurant is currently shut, which isn't clear on booking.

Absolutely not worth the 5 star rating this hotel has. Poor service/communication- staff ignore personal requests. No room service. No restaurant. No housekeeping. Staff discard (or steal??) lost and found items. Saving grace is nice decor and comfy beds. I booked this hotel for two nights for my wedding night, hoping to have a relaxing and beautiful stay. Ahead of our check in we called the hotel to let them know our booking is for our wedding night and maybe they could do something special for us in the room for when we arrive. When we arrived, the room was clean but nothing special had been done for us, despite having checked in after 6pm. It was the first red flag but we brushed it off not wanting to make a fuss. My husband requested that housekeeping leave a nice surprise for us for when we got back after our wedding. Maybe some towel swans or something. We came back from the wedding, exhausted, only to find that our room had not been serviced AT ALL. All the mess from getting ready earlier in the day was still there. They couldn’t service the room at the usual time as we were getting ready for the wedding, however we were out of the room for at least 8+ hours from 3pm onwards which would have been plenty of time to fulfil our request or even just clean. We were basically the only guests at the hotel as well and they were quite clearly not busy. They knew our situation. They were aware of our request and AGREED to it but yet again, failed to follow through, which was just incredibly disappointing and frustrating. After a long day, my husband and I tried to order room service, only to be told there is no room service. We went downstairs hoping to go to the restaurant, only to find out that was also not functioning. We were told to just order takeaway. None of this was not mentioned on their website or during check in. (We did end up ordering takeaway and even that we had to go downstairs to collect ourselves, it would have been a nice gesture of the staff to at least bring it to our room) Breakfast was very sub par. Akin to something from holiday inn- stale and dry English breakfast buffet. They had none of the food options that were advertised on their website either- no breakfast menu, no Indian breakfast, nothing. At least the decor of the eating area was nice. Multiple times housekeeping was impossible to reach as no one answered the phone. Even when we managed to get through to request an ironing board, we had to do it twice as they forgot the first time. Last but not least, amongst all the chaos of packing up to check out, I ended up forgetting my wedding lingerie in the room. I called the hotel the next day and even told them exactly where I had left it (a very obvious and visible place). They passed me on to the lost and found department who told me someone would call me back but no one ever did (common trend with this place it seems.) I called again the following day and was told that nothing had been found and there were new people in the room now. So the hotel staff must have either thrown away my brand new silk and lace lingerie or someone pocketed it for themselves, OR they do such a poor job at cleaning that they do not notice personal clothing hanging up in the bathroom. In either case, it is extremely unprofessional. In summary, I had high expectations of this place and they managed to spectacularly fail at every turn, failing to meet even basic expectations let alone high ones. I will never stay here again and I would not recommend that anyone else does unless things drastically change.

Wouldn’t recommend. We stayed here for our wedding night, we had the cleaner walk in on us and multiple calls asking is when we were leaving despite paying for late checkout. Many of the room facilities did not work and breakfast was very limited for vegetarians. I would definitely expect more from a hotel like this. What was sad was that when we politely told the staff our experience they had no interest in rectifying or apologising at all. I emailed the hotel after our stay too and we were also ignored

Wow .. wow .. wow .. what a beautiful hotel in a perfect location. We stayed two nights and the room was amazing (Classroom 310) Staff were very friendly and the finishing touches were perfect. Very clean .. a big pay on the back to the cleaning team. Only small complaint is the lighting is very difficult to be able to see to do make up especially in the bathroom. Loved the toilet seat. Having said that it will not put us off returning or recommending to friends
