Supermarket

👍👍 Large supermarket close to the city. Excellent transport links but most importantly a large car park for shoppers, 90min free parking. The front of the store has been redesigned and the car park is now on one level in the front of the store. The store is good size with all the usual products, lots... People often mention store, people, staff, shop, park, parking, good, customers, time, products,

Large supermarket close to the city. Excellent transport links but most importantly a large car park for shoppers, 90min free parking. The front of the store has been redesigned and the car park is now on one level in the front of the store. The store is good size with all the usual products, lots of self checkouts but the end of the queue is awkwardly positioned and you can't always tell when a checkout is empty. There is an Argos collection point insid. There are toilets for customers.

Was disappointed because prices are too high. Ironically, a man walked past me and complained that before he went on holiday, custard was £1.00, when he returned from holiday, it was £1.90. Sainsbury's need to reduce their prices to allow poor people to purchase more items for less money. 🤔

Had met with a bad situation . A lady who was standing on the self payment area was so harrasing. She was very rude to us who were ready to pay for the alcohol and other stuffs. Please give them a good training about how to behave towards the customers. So ashamed of this type of person!

The best supermarket in London, in my opinion. Spacious and clean. You can find literally anything here.

A lot of variety & fairly good prices on certain items. Halal section is a decent size & had a lot of options. I must say the staff seem frustrated with their jobs as you can sense it when trying to communicate.

I previously gave it a 5 star review however, after yesterday's visit i wish i could give it a zero. The washroom facility was the utter most nastiest place I've ever been, it was so disgusting that i almost threw up, smelled like urine all over, toilets (all of them were clogged) filled with tissues, sinks were stinking, no toilet paper nothing at all. There was piss all over the floor. Absolutely pathetic environment. Shame on the management for not being able to keep their facilities clean, whats the point of having so many employees of you can't keep things clean. Absolutely disappointing experience. Hideous

What a fantastic improvement on the Dalston store. Loads of trolleys, lots of friendly helpful staff INCLUDING ACTUAL HUMANS ON TILLS! Great range of stock (including clothing and home), Argos collection point. I'm happy to travel 2 miles to this store in future.

Not one employee here is happy, all depressed because the security guards are perverxs. Be very careful of the security guards. Workers stay away from wandering hands of the security guards, I will add photos soon

This is Sainsbury Whitechapel London. One of the best locations. I learnt that they may be going down because of the new Train station coming there.

Rubbish strewn, broken trolleys and badly planned car park. Cramped aisles and dozens of self service tills where you have to be released like a common criminal. Shortages are common here as the rotten smell of the toilets wafts onto the shop floor. This place used to be decent but has really gone down hill. Avoid!

Staff are great it's just a shame if you go any time after 5/6pm you will not find any fruit or vegetables on the weekend. Consistently I have found that this place does not restock their shelves until they close. Feels like terrible management.

What's not to love about Sainsbury's?! Well stocked shelves, friendly staff who knew where items were when we asked. The store was quiet so this made this visit more pleasurable. There is a clothing section and unfortunately for my purse there was a half price sale on!!! Parking reminded me of the airport - plenty of spaces available. Would love to shop here regularly but it's a little out of my way.

This store toilet out of 10 times you would get 5 times either very dirty or not working. They don’t bother about customers specially elderly. I hope whoever manages it come to sense!

The only Sainsbury's in my area that also carries clothing. Quite spacious and clean. If you go there late be aware that you might not get what you came for, at least in the baked goods section. Location seems sketchy but the sorroundigs are quite safe and I never felt scared walking home at night.

The store itself was adequate, much like any supermarket. However, the toilets were disgusting. Tried to take my young nephew and not one cubicle was clean. I thought he was going to vomit.

Its a good store however most of the halal meat is finished quite often, theyre renovating the place right now and only one car park is opened temporarily. Maximum stay is only 1 hour

This is one of the biggest shop around Whitechapel area. It has Argos and Tu inside. Though Argos doesn’t have any items on display but you can order in their tab and get the item on the go. They have men, women and children fashion section when you enter. Gift section as well. Also it has washroom inside on the right near the till section.

The store itself is great with a huge selection but too bad if you need to use the toilet since most of the time the doors are taped closed and the disabled one has 'out of order' on a sign on the door. When they are accessible, they are absolutely stinking and filthy. Why?

First couple of grocery shopping home delivery's from anyone. Friends recommended sainsburys and quality and prices are good. Issue with one item and customer services sorted it quickly. Delivery drivers on time and professional. With nectar prices and points plus prices generally good quality good too even on budget and own brands. Would recommend

Big store, they sell a large selection of clothes, newspapers and magazines. Nice selection of Christmas gifts and food this year 2023. Always good for shopping as I always come out with more than I intended.

Big one, you can find everything in one place. Food, clothes for men, women and kids. As well there is an argos inside the store. In the past they have a cafe next to the entrance of the shop, was very lovely to relax after or before shopping. But it closed at the beginning of the pandemic. Wish to open again.

It was always my go to place for the last 15-20 years as it previously had the best deals for average/low income people. Unique among local shops for having a working toilet. However recently staff have been removing own brands leaving only the expensive options. The last 3-4 months the toilet has been broken and you can see a stream of disappointment mums and old people who had planned their shopping around being able to access the toilet and effectively being caught short. The staff seem increasingly indifferent to the customers, which is presumably the reason they haven't got the toilet fixed. They can just pop out the back and use the staff loo but the shoppers are stranded. I know they can't help the area being gentrified and people losing interest in the cheaper products but they can definitely sort out a plumber to fix the loo but it's obviously just not important enough for them. Either that or they are deliberatly keeping the toilets taped off.

This Sainsbury's is conveniently located however getting a parking is a pain. The car parking is not great for inexperienced drivers as it's tricky getting in and out. Also didn't like the whole up and down floors to get the shopping. If you do a weekly shop getting trolly around will be difficult.

The perfect place to get all kind of items from different parts of the world. Myself being an Indian got all spices (in an affordable price). And not to forget to mention the liquor section,it is awesome ☺️

It’s clear that the self-checkout area was designed and is now managed by people who have never actually used self-checkout machines. The layout is dire. There are insufficient staff meaning they’re overwhelmed and customers kept waiting. The whole setup - physical layout and staffing - needs an overhaul.

The Sainsburys local is a great place to grab daily necessities. The choices aren't as huge as the Sainsburys super stores but has enough. I usually go for the meal deals and small desserts and dimple necessities

Not worth it anymore. Such a huge shop that years ago had a lot of range of products and made me so happy, and right now has a limited range but in more stalls because that is the only way they can increase benefits. More expensive than similar supermarkets with a quality that never matches other supermarkets in any of the fresh products, with no fresh counters anymore and a general feeling that it is a miserable and lifeless experience. Avoid.

  • 2/5 Rupert D. 1 year ago on Google
Big selection of goods but it really is a mess of building work and one tiny entrance. Never enough staff on tills. You also need your receipt to get out of the self service area which isn’t made very clear.

Self service is always understaffed, theres always a large queue but checkouts empty because customers dont know whether to step forward or continue waiting. Car park has no pedestrian access from Cambridge heath road so pedestrians are dangerously walking through the car park tarmac to gain access to the shop. Also no pedestrian access or trolley access to the parking near Cambridge heath road where the old petrol station was many years ago. Did you expect pedestrians and cars to jointly use the tarmac area, its meant for cars only.

Around 3:37 or 2:37 pm 5th Tuesday . All 3 people on self checkout . Literally all three don’t have a clue about the place they work on . I didn’t bother with taking their name . But had to give this review Bcz I work on Sainsburys I know how other customers feels when shopping there . I took 2 meal deal . First of all it wasn’t coming as meal deal when I took the meal deal products . This people on checkout not only lazy and unprofessional Bcz they don’t bother checking my products if I made a mistake or the system not picking up . But they told me , u need to go and get meal deal products lol . I’m like “ I did ! “ and Second thing I asked literally 5 people . 2 from shop floor and those 3 people in self checkouts if they provide ketchup and mayo or not Bcz in my store we do . These people lol these people told me to go and check and said Whatver is in there is there . They knew nothing ! And again they didn’t even bother helping me to check if they do or not . If u don’t help customers then why bother working . And if u don’t know about a product then f… go and ask who knows . Find a way to delivery the information a customer is asking for . I don’t know what kind of people they hired this is store but telling u I was so disappointed and so grateful and I don’t work here . And there was This one time I bought whole box of time out chocolate and There was this guy , short , bole and aged guy to just count them manually so I don’t have to scan one by one . I told him the quality it had in the box . By the way it was a open box so he can see how many . This guy told me the quantity I didn’t have . I had about 23 or something . And this guy was literally telling me “ madam look it’s not 23 it’s 24 “ in a very annoying and rude voice . I’m like bro I’m literally counting Infront of u can u not see . Literally started arguing with me . So I just let him do the quantity he counted . Thn literally after paying I went to get refund . I told the refund lady to count and guess what she counted exact quantity Thn I told her ur colleague just charged me more extra why ? She did nothing . Acted busy and just laughed as if this is normal . If it was my store , I would tell my colleague and say sorry to the customer Bcz it was the customer fault . This store is a mess .

In-store you get almost everything that you expect from a bigger sainsbury, in addition they have added Argos inside recently plus the cafe makes it perfect for buying everything at once. Only downside I would say the parking arrangements, 2/3 row of normal parking as oppose to 4/5 including disabled and electric vehicles parking.

First time at this super Sainsbury store in Whitechapel. Store was clean and tidy. There were many different departments in the store. Disappointed w/housewares dept. Much smaller than expected. Food and drink aisles were great! Lots of variety. Prices were decent. I didn't like the neighborhood tho. I went to Whitechapel primarily to see an optometrist and didn't realize the neighborhood looked so bad and unsafe.

This place has potential to be a full and complete supermarket. But every time I go in it is messy and the layout is not quite right. I’ve been disappointed a few times. The queues are always incredibly long as well.

😠 As an elderly gentleman it took a great effort to bring myself to use Smart Shop but of late whenever I use this store the Smart Shop checkout is unavailable. Staff tell me to use other checkout facilities but that is not the point. I am a vulnerable person and need to avoid queues where possible...
