If I could give it 0 starts I would, Been waiting here for 8 hours and other people are being seen who came in a long time after me. I kept asking them how long and they kept saying to me you have 2 people in-front of you. They have been saying that for the past 7 hours. The will sit in there rooms for half hour before calling a patient. If I patient doesn’t turn up they will still waiting half hour to call for another one. There is no needed for this. They know I was in so much pain and they kept longing it out. Very long waiting time and very short staffed.

Plenty of parking but always busy. Doctors and staff are always good. It's never nice to find yourself in any hospital but we have to be realistic and respect what the staff have to deal with on a daily basis. Patience is a virtue

ZERO EMPATHY A&E NURSES these nurses will have zero empathy towards me, I fainted they told me to wait until I’ll being seen. There were male nurses was trying to get female nurses to attend to me. One was a tall Indian crossed eyed ladies saw me and choosing to Ignore me. I strongly believe these nurses don’t want to be nurses, these people just don’t care. Until you die! These happen before and the waiting list is crazy. I had to wait many many hours. When I got seen by doctor I got judge by him. Overall please anything dealing with emergencies do not go to North Middlesex Hospital. These people including security guards don’t care about you. U can tell them 100x they you desperately want to be seen. They will give you attitude and they you to seat right back down I was going up and down to desperately to be seen and close to faint. These nurses saw me and blanked(ignored) me right in front of me and pretending they didn’t see anything. Wow this nurses are not good nurses very rude and show zero empathy

Can't really recommend this place. Cannot register disabled badge because that's done at the main entrance but the main extreme is closed. I am lucky I am on a motorcycle I park here free anyway but what are others supposed to do? Wait until 8am for the main entrance to open? This place is less organised than me and that's saying something. Reception was polite but clearly under huge amounts of stress.. Druggies hanging around the car park like its a social even. Can't recommend this place at all.

North Mid Hospital A and E is brilliant! The doctors, nurses, and other health staff are thorough and knowledgeable. Their bedside manners are caring and efficient. Please be patient. Obviously, doctors, nurses, and all health care extremely busy. Every nation was thrown into chaos due to the pandemic of Covid. All health care staff are overwhelmed and they're doing everything they can and much more. They have gone above and beyond in their duties. They unselfishly did NOT take the vaccine in order for there to be more available for the patients and the public as well. They have worked long, hard hours. Many health care staff made the ultimate sacrifice as a result of their dedication to their medical and nursing profession of helping people. If you have to wait to se the doctor, do NOT complain because you have been fortunate to be sitting there and waiting for medical care.

Absolutely the worst “A&E” one could imagine. Been there twice and will never go there again! Rude staff, carpark where companions are supposed to wait because they’re not allowed in the building, full of crackheads and mentally disabled and dangerous individuals - I had one pull a knife on me while security was watching from the doorway! I decided to uber myself home and leave my partner with his chest pains in their hands, only 4 hours later, I was trying to call so see if there was any update on him and 1 + hours of persevering no one would pick up the phone! I kept getting through to switchboard and security, but noone I needed to speak to would pick up!!! Absolute shambles and I still don’t know if my partner is alive or not. Avoid at all costs - horrible horribly managed waste of space! Great for the junkies though.

God forbid do not attend. Better to die in piece at home. Second visit last 12 months. Waited 7 hours. Now second visit initially was told its not busy u will be seen fast. After asking for more information on how long been told 6 hours. I would have went another place if they honestly told me 6 hours I'm in agony and I feel like no one cares about me.. I could go on and tell more but what's the point

Children's a&e: great, kind doctors once you actually get to see them, but you have to wait 5+ hours in a waiting room, and they are inhumanely inflexible about the 1 parent rule, even when it's not at all crowded. My wife was in their for 9 hours, since 11pm, hadnt slept in 24 hours, with our sick 1 year old, and the security guard came in at 8am to kick me out after I stayed for a bit longer than planned to make sure my wife had something to eat and a bit of time to rest. No one else seemed to care that I was there but the security guard did for some reason. There was plenty of space there at 8am in the morning. No idea why the 1 parent rule is even there, no explanation provided. Like the review below I suspect it was instituted during COVID and they never bothered to take the signs down or update procedures. We were asked to go to the a&E by an out of hours GP, who emailed ahead to explain why we were coming, but the receptionist said they had no way of knowing which email address he had sent it to. Ridiculous.

You can see the staff are working hard but it appears they are burnt out or unhappy to be there. There is alot of attitude from some of nursing staff. One elderly lady was being treated unfairly . She wanted to understand why she had to stay. They said she couldn't leave because there was no transport. It was 0130, were they expecting her to wait for the first bus? The main waiting room smells of stale urine. The floor appears to be swept and clean-ish. But there are spills of various drinks all around the waiting room. The toilets smell awful. I dread having to use the toilets, so avoid drinking water anytime i go. The smaller waiting room is cleaner . Toilets still smell of urine. Though I preferred to stay in the smaller waiting room due to the cleanliness, we were told to return to the main waiting room. This is fair enough, but main area just feels incredibly unclean and ghetto .

I am already 6 hours in A&E and the staff in reception informed me that maybe the waiting time is 12 hours. Also the doctor call someone every hour. Is unacceptable and inappropriate to treat people like that. The staff seems to doesn’t care and just say we are not a good hospital

Yesterday my daughter got sick vomiting and fever and had to go to the emergency room at 2am in the emergency there are people who are waiting for more than 7 hours 🥹and they are babies or children who are enduring the pain and there are not enough doctors and we have been like more than 3 hours with no case and in the end as La Niña improved a bit (to be expected a lot) with the grace of paracetamol I let him that I have to wait longer and he replied that there is an average wait of 7 hours that if my daughter is It's better that I go home and go somewhere better. I just have a question that is happening in the United Kingdom that is really happening I don't like being in a country and not feeling safe, imagine if it is something dangerous I hope not an answer I hope reactions that are babies children men ladies grandmothers and grandfathers and we are 🫡

Awful! I have spleen pain and after waiting 4 hours I was gaslighted by the doctor that it was rib pain and that I was fine?? Didn’t do any tests, just prescribed pain killers. He said that under my left rib that’s not where the spleen is, instead he pointed lower in the stomach. I googled this later and he was wrong!! I wish I had internet inside to proof him wrong right then. He basically told me to exercise and that I will have no pain in two months. Why on earth would I take time off work to go to a&e just to be told to exercise! I’m left with no option but to go private again as my normal GP won’t see me in person until July 10th! This is a joke! People can die. I’m so upset and I’m still in pain!

I am really happy with their service. I didn’t wait long at all. Staff well behaved. I went through X-ray and emergency checkup because of bad face infection. Thank you for all the attention provided.

Told them I was bleeding for three weeks straight since my period started and they let me go with nothing. They treated others infront of me with total disrespect and couldn't stop moaning or boasting about how busy they are. Do not waste your time.

Spent 4 hours including everything here on a Saturday morning with a very bad cold. All in all the experience was fine, staff was friendly and everything was kind of smooth. If you are prepared to wait for long, for example the given expected waiting hours was >8 hours according to their website and we finished in 4, you may feel much better and treat that as a bonus.

Found very good medical assistance being not even a uk resident. The wait wasn’t short but I was visited by a great and empathetic doctor and got all the tests and drugs I needed. Nurse staff wasn’t professional.

the doctor's attitude is unqualified. After 6 hours of waiting, he didn't even look at me, he just asked why I was there? I can't find words to describe this service.:/

Wait for 4 hours to see a doctor then prescribe paracetamol. This is on children section on North Mid. This is the worst place to go. If you’re planning to come get everything with you and prepare to stay more than 10 hours to be seen

  • 1/5 Rolandas S. 1 year ago on Google
Sadly can't give 0 star... There's no system of priorities in place regardless of what their posters say. People with no visible emergency been called much sooner, while others with open wounds and strong bleeding are waiting over 4 hours (still waiting)...

  • 1/5 Michael P. 1 year ago on Google
I actually think this is the worst hospital I've ever been to. I've been here a few times now and the experience I'm getting and seeing others get is worrying. No one seems to be in a hurry to get anything done, people are left in waiting rooms for hours upon hours without anything being said except there's someone in the queue Infront of you. There's just a massive vibe of not caring here, some staff are polite and it's outweighed by the overall lack of care in this place.

We have been sent there by the gp,who said we have to be seen straight away,as my daughter my have some serious illness. After arriving,it took one hour to be seen by a nurse, even if we specified from the beginning we have to be seen asap. This nurse took my daughter temperature wrong, saying she only has 37,when she was literally boiling hot,and I knew we left home with 39.4. I insisted that she has to check again and after she checked she said it was 38,and nothing else seems to be wrong with my daughter so we don’t have to be seen straight away,we ithave to wait minimum 2 hours. I insisted again that I am very worried and she sent some other nurse to check some other symptoms. They gave us some nurofen and said they will come in about 40 minutes to check her again..that didnt happen,of course. Meanwhile we had a thermometer and checked for ourselves, but to make sure we had to find someone to help us checking again as they said..and this someone was extremely rude, showing zero interest in our problem, taking the piss. We asked again how long is going to take to be seen by a doctor,as we were there for about 4 hours already, and of course she said she doesnt know, very easily and very indifferent. Because my daughter’s temp was going down,we decided to leave and see the gp the next morning, and we wanted to let them know that we are going,we went to the reception desk to tell them and the answer was: ‘very good idea’ ! With this answer you can all understand how the situation is there.

My 17 years old daughter had to be seen today in A&E. Even though we had to wait for a while, from the moment they called her in, until we left, the emergency nurse that was in charge of her care was flawless. He was talking nicely to her, showing empathy and being patient, answering to all questions, trying to distract her when the consultant was checking her wound and she was very distressed. Hats off to you, Mr Giancarlo Biason. Health system needs more people like you!
