I attended the language courses for 6 weeks and my mom also attended the beginner English courses at St. Giles. I would like to share some of our experience for anyone needed as a reference. My level is B2 and joined IELTS courses, the pace is very intense and focus on the exam, so that it’s really boring honestly speaking. But they use relatively new material to teach and teacher is qualified. My mom is a totally new language learner and the class she had joined in was definitely not a true beginner class as they had described or had promised. With the fast-paced teaching and no effective reviewing, I would say if you are a totally new language learner here, it’s not for you. It’s a waste of money and time .They don’t teach you as a beginner English learner. Although the school is a family business; however, I think they are too modest to call themselves a family business. Because in my view, they run the schools in a very commercial way and do put a lot of emphasis on marketing. And you can see some young teachers not very sophisticated and experienced. If you already have a good basis of English, you can have a try here. (In London, everything is expensive but not very worthy) If you are a beginner, either you decide to spend a large amount of money for individual tutors here or somewhere else.

Hopefully I will get the score I need this time! Thanks especially to Barry for all his patience and support throughout my time in the school. Update: I've got 7.5 on IELTS (overall) so I'm more happy with my time spent on the school now :)

I had the chance to be educated in several language schools while I was at UK. Certainly St.Giles was the best among all of them I took CAE and Advanced general English in St Giles and it was pleasantly good. Teachers were masters of their trade, Students in Advanced class were almost proficient. If I were to come back and study English ,which is unlikely for now, my choice would be definitely St.Giles again.

I had a good time at St. Giles English School. The teachers are very friendly and I met a lot of people from over the whole world. The school nice located and you have different shops and pubs around the school. After school, they have a interesting social program. The classrooms were a bit small but okay.

I booked and paid for 1 week of language school in Brighton with the guesthouse. Of course I then booked a flight. A day later I receive an email from the St.Giles language school telling me that they don't have a room available. I should either book a room myself (very expensive at the moment), or they would give me the money back. I then called them and the lady on the phone apologized but said the room hadn't been confirmed yet and that wasn't their fault. If I can book and pay for the entire arrangement, that is an automatic confirmation. Actually, the school should now offer me a replacement. They didn't do this. I even had to pay the cost of the refund via Flywire (30 CHF) myself in addition to the flight cancellation costs. A total impudence. Additionally, they haven't changed anything on the website, you can still book a guesthouse room, even though the lady on the phone said they were fully booked for weeks. You can reserve and pay for a second language school in Brighton with the guesthouse. Ensuite, bien sûr, j'ai réservé un vol. A day later, I received an e-mail from the St. Giles School, my informant that the room was available. I want to reserve a room in my room (for the moment), so I remember it. Alors je les ai appealés et la lady au téléphone s'est excusée mais m' a dit que la chambre n'avait pas encore été confirmedée, donc ce n'était pas de leur faute. If you reserve and pay for the integration of the arrangement, this is an automatic confirmation. En fait, l'école devrait maintenant me proposer un remplaçant. Ils n'ont pas fait ça. You can pay for a refund via Flywire (CHF 30) and plus the cancellation fee for the volume. A total joe. Plus, if you don't change the main web site, you can reserve a hot room so that the lady can use the phone to complete the two-week period. Might be just our situation, and apparently we did oversee something in the trove of provided guidelines that needed to be provided. But, if the embassy inquires about something directly with the school, the institution should have the decency to let us know that such has occurred and we needed to act. Without consulting, they gave an answer that let to our son not getting his visa. In hindsight, it was for the best as we've moved our business to a school on the shores of the Bodensee between Germany and Switzerland. My personal advice based on the bespoke experience, to my friends and general public, if you're in the situation that you need a visa for you offspring, don't expect these guys to be of any assistance or clear communicators, read all the documents they send you several times and in great detail. Do rather more than less as they will not tell you that something is missing, they'll just assume something...

I clearly remember the best unforgettable 8 months there, even though it was nearly a decade ago. Honestly it was hard to move up to next level. But because of the dedicated teachers and patient classmates who came from all over the world, I managed to overcome that. Even some friends are still in touch with me. I can’t thank enough for the school and those days inspire me all the time to keep studying English. If you want to commit yourself on learning the language harder than ever, I highly recommend you this school for your life changing opportunity.

Nice and kind staff, structure in need of some more maintenance. The canteen/lunch area is nice and welcoming, with many amenities and venue nearby being available as alternatives.

I studied at St. Giles London. Best experience in my life so far. St. Giles is an amazing school. Every Friday teachers would take us to a Pub to socialize and practice our skills. While most of my teachers where professional and caring, you are always bound to find one or two that you just don't work well with... it is human nature and it will happen until you die. That said, I don't know if it was London or the teachers or both, but everything in my year living there was... perfect. I was miserably poor but honest to god that was no issue, I have some many fond memories studying or just exploring London with classmates that it brings a good chunk of nostalgia.

I have been at St. Gyles International for just one week, attending the free lessons and it has been a good experience. The teachers have been very friendly and the atmosphere is very good. Good classes, good teachers and good center. Highly, highly recommended.

Studying at St Giles was one of the most wonderful experiences of my life. Although it had been for a short time (two weeks only), I learned a lot and was able to make many friends from several countries. I definitely developed my listening and speaking abilities throughout this period. I'm looking forward to coming back next year.

I was planning to come to St. Giles last summer, my uncle paid all of the fees. I was enrolled to St. Giles and I have applied to visa, but unfortunatelly my application was rejected. I have told to St. Giles my application was rejected hence I wasnt able to come, but they told me that they couldn’t able to refund us?? I paid to St. Giles for absolutely nothing. This is not fair and its unacceptable St. Giles has to give my money back.

I enrolled my nephews Reyyan and Omer Berat Toprak on this school in the summer. I paid their fees and then they made visa applications, unfortunately, their UK visa application was rejected, and I declared to the school that the visa applications were rejected and asked for a refund from St. Giles. I do not understand why St. Giles is not giving me a full refund due to a visa rejection which was not in my hands. It is disheartening to see St. Giles International unwilling to provide a full refund under such exceptional circumstances. The rejection of the visa was beyond our control, and we expected more understanding and support from a reputable institution like St. Giles. This school is getting your money and not giving back. My nephews Reyyan and Omer Berat Toprak would come to St. Giles if they were granted UK Visa, but they were not. My nephews Reyyan and Omer Berat couldn't come and I lost my money because of St. Giles. Please give my money back.

They don't care about anything. You are talking about a problem, they do not return. I have sent e-mails many times and I have not received a response even once. Awful. Even though I was in B2 class, I received B1 certificate. Even though I was in the Ielts class, I took B1 class and many other courses. You don’t try!
