I’ll be honest I only visited because of the cat. It looked lovely with all the Christmas decor. And Hodge is super cute. Oh yeah and there was some wonderful organ music too. I enjoyed it a lot

Candlelight Coldplay classical concert in such a magical setting. It was breathtaking in sound quality and majesty of such an intimate Cathedral. Tucked behind Borough Market and looking out on the Thames it cannot fail to impress any age-group (even my 13 yr old). A wonderful building and magical experience.

There is so much history to see within the cathedral's environs accompanied by fascinating stories of events and characters that have passed through its thousand years of existence. It is also a quiet sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of London and a place for spiritual contemplation or personal prayer. The herb garden and pretty court churchyard are lovely places to meditate or just daydream. We'll worth a couple of hours of your time.

We went there to see the museum of the moon. I would recommend booking online, tickets are £3. But I think you can book upon arrival. The moon looks very pretty and it’s definitely worth a visit! The shop has ‘space’ food like freeze dried ice cream and alot of souvenirs.

Nice cathedral on the southern side of Thames. Would be top 1 in London except for St. Paul. Free entrance, worth to visit every time going to London. You can sometimes find the chorus practising which is a unique experience. There is a small garden in the back with a Shakespeare statue. Gothic style, very nice as not so many places still preserved in London as this cathedral.

Saw Vivaldi by Candlelight and it was mesmerising. The string quartet (especially the lead violinist) were just brilliant. The Cathedral itself was a remarkable piece of architecture and had an atmosphere of calmness and peace.

Great spot to visit. You have free entry to the cathedral but you should give a donation. There is a lovely gift shop with great gifts. The cafe is also great the home-made soup was excellent. Visited on a Sunday and the choir singing was lovely.

Very nice cathedral hidden next to boroughs market. free entry, lovely gift shop, friendly staff. Nice cafe to relax and chill next to the hectic market. Entrance can be found near the bridge. You should visit when in the area.

One of the most accessible and manageable cathedrals - beautiful and perfectly sized. It’s well worth half an hour to an hour as a space to enjoy and reflect. Right next to London Bridge, travel is easy and you’re next to Borough market too - though they’ve got a nice cafe on-site. The Cathedral has a tastefully separate modern addition (cafe, conference space, etc) which actually highlights the outside by getting you next to it in a light-bathed glass corridor. Services are, as you’d expect, open but also accessible. You’re far less likely to need a ticket and can just turn up in the main. The choir are a personal favourite, but I may be a little biased. The smaller space makes it easier to hear their voices without amplification. Perhaps the most delightful thing is the resident cat, who has its own significant social media following. And yes, you likely will see it during services.

We were here today and were able to listen to a choir from USA performing their gospel hymns. All solemn hymns performed in such a antiquated cathedral. Just like we listened to songs from heaven. The cathedral is open for walking around. There is a small garden where you can sit to enjoy. A nice place for time out

A splendid piece of architecture steeped in history, this impressive building offers a peaceful sanctuary nestled in the heart of bustling city life. The stained glass, carved stone, and pointed arches evoke a bygone era. Make sure to visit the gardens. They're a secret gem, a tranquil spot for a pause and reflection. A must visit if you have a penchant for remarkable heritage sites.

Visited Southwark Cathedral for the first time recently for the final day of the Museum of the Moon exhibition. Have walked past the cathedral many times when visiting Borough Market and always enjoyed the exterior view. Inside is wonderful too. Lots to see around the church, including the resident cat. Nice atmosphere inside. Recommended (especially when visiting Borough market for some tasty food too)!

I visited during my churches day, although am not at all a religious guy i became gladly surprised and shocked by the architecture and style regarding churches and abbeys, and honestly loved the Gothic style about it, the surrounding area makes it look even darker and once inside believe me the feeling remains.Dont rush it and Take your time it is totally worthwhile. Hope you enjoy it as much as i did.

Really gorgeous cathedral right next door to Borough Market. Well worth popping in for a bit of peace and quiet, as well as time to reflect. The architecture is incredible and a couple of nods to Shakespeare - a great place to go after a trip to The Globe. Entry is free so in my opinion this is a better visit than costly St Paul's over the river.

Absolutely gorgeous. Attended Sunday mass. The choir is just amazing! So worth the visit to listen to the music. There are various Sunday services with at least four options not to miss it. The area outside the church has so much life and vibrancy.

Stumbled across this hidden gem after visiting the view from the shard. Free entry with disabled access and toilet facilities. Coffee shop with sandwiches and cake offerings next door. Absolutely stunning Cathedral with strong links to Shakespeare. Beautiful stained glass and a lovely quiet outside courtyard with views of Borough Market and the shard. Would thoroughly recommend. We even heard the organist practising which was amazing!

Family day out to see the moon show at Southwark Cathedral. It was stunning to experience the surreal ‘moon’ in such a sacred atmosphere. It was comforting to have such a quiet place to relax and enjoy a peaceful moment in the middle of central London and surrounds by the Borough Market. Has rich history and memories of London. Will definitely visit again.

AKA Museum of the Moon - "Beauty" I believe there is a time when they portray Earth and Mars as well. I was fortunate enough to see the Moon inside the Cathedral. Kindly check online for the availability of the Monuments.

Great place to visit, lovely church in the middle of hustle and bustle of the city. Place was the venue for the moon museum and tickets were required, quite a long queue due to the event taking place. Can donate using card

Fantastic architecture and wonderful atmosphere at the Queen Tribute by Candlelight Concerts. The music could have been a bit louder for a deeper sensorial experience. Our seats were not great. Even though we were on the front row, the artists were not facing us. But it was beautiful to be there. It lasted an hour. There's something magical about this cathedral. I couldn't stop smiling. There was a little explanation of the pieces in between. Overall, it was a nice experience.

The string quartet were so beautiful, could listen to them all night long. The cathedral was a stunning venue with good seating. I liked how they allowed only so many to enter at one time. Guides were polite and helpful. The host, Sophie, was charming and delightful.

Attended a candlelight concert in the cathedral and was so impressed. The venue was well maintained and immaculately clean with breathtaking gothic architectures. Staff were polite and helpful. Cathedral was accessible and easy to find with great cafes and restaurants sprawled around the venue.

Nice mid sized cathedral, worth a visit. You only pay 2 pounds to take photos but for a fiver you can get a nice booklet. Staff very nice.

Beautiful church. They have a colour glass which was painted from one of the scene from Shakespeare plays. They do the graduation ceremony for King college University nearby

Southwark Cathedral is an Anglican Cathedral with one of the oldest Gothic Architecture in London. It has been a place of Christian worship for over 1,000 years. If you want to explore the cathedral, it is better not visit during service time as parts of the cathedral are closed to visitors. It is located close to the Borough Market in London and has good access to public transportation.

Beautiful cathedral. Went here for a candle light concert. It was very good. Do visit if you are around London Bridge area. Visit the old Thames side pub after this.

A brilliant and much passed by venue. However please be aware that if you have limited mobility, then the cathedral staff ha e deactivated the lift access to the cathedral. I m not sure why. However it is a marvellous place , with the tomb of William Shakespeare. Cafe is brilliant too. Highly likely.
