I was disappointed with this exhibition. We paid £5 to have a look around it but, really! If you go there to have a look just go to the cafe and walk past this. If you do pay the £5, you can look around and then sit in the sort of comfortable seats and contemplate if it was money well spent. I tried very hard but could not, had a good rest though 😁

Normal entry fee is £3, but I visited on a Tuesday, which was free. I have only given 3 stars because there wasn't much exhibition space when I went; just one exhibit on the ground floor and two exhibits in two rooms on the second floor. At 12.30 however there was an interesting creation in the cinema near the entrance; a film posing a series of questions with various people expressing their views on the subject. If there was more to see here I would have rated higher.

Great gallery with cinemas, a book shop and cafe. A real broad breadth of things on show and it’s located in a very easily accessible part of town by st James. Good vibes

Personally I spend way too much time here.... In terms of Art, Cinema, and Theatre, you cant find a better place in London. I personally do not work in the creative industry so shut out from most non public events but this is a great place to see some amazing work. In terms of film - they have a great slate and show alot of work that I cant find anywhere else around London. Ofcourse they show the odd mainstream hit, but if you are looking to find indie international cinema, heres your place. I have also been to quite a few of their art exhibitions+installations and again been super impressed. The crowd is not is stuffy at all, the staff are super sweet and theres a great little bar area where everyone is super social and friendly. i have actually been to the bar before on a friday before heading out without even seeing an event on.

Awesome space that gives step to developing artists as well as established ones. I have been moved by the exhibitions and events more than I'd expected, as the exhibitions tend to be quite socially aware. I have always felt welcome in ICA as the people that are involved are friendly and polite.

Lovely venue with a variety of art and cultural events and exhibitions. Special highlight is the bookstore which curates a lot of progressive / transgressive reads. Will open your mind.

The Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) is located on the Mall a few minutes walk from Trafalgar Square. It is one of London’s leading spaces for contemporary culture. It commissions, produces and presents new work in film, music, performance and the visual arts. by today’s most progressive artists. The ICA is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. Our most recent visit was to view the exhibition of work by the artist Gray Wielebinski entitled The Red Sun is High, the Blue Low. The exhibition itself was somewhat underwhelming. But we had a nice cup of tea and a cake in the cafe.

Last visit to the ICA was 4 years ago, glad to see the center still open and thriving. Gallery, reading, performing and cafe space. Nice to sit and have a coffee, wine or snacks. Accessible restrooms.

Finally, I think my worries are put to sleep. Leave my art trajectory in the hands of The Institute. Nice cozy house for great films. Friendly faces all around, no pretentious knowing all and decor to the minimum; I do really appreciate it. Great location. Very much recommend.

They were screening for LFF2023. Non-allocated seating. Film was due to start at 20:30 but we were still in a huge queue, which looped around the bar (so people kept trying to move around or through us in order to purchase drinks) at 20:28: Film started late. Staff in the screen were friendly, but the person on reception/round desk in the doorway by the bookshop was very rude. A few people asked to make sure they were joining the correct queue (rather than collecting tickets or trying for returns) and she was very condescending and abrupt with us. Screen 1 itself was comfortable, clean, screen was high enough that there was a good view from where I sat half way back. Likely won't bother visiting again though.

My favourite gallery in London! The exhibition is great as well as a restaurant, book shop and cinema! Also, I was impressed with their toilet too! Most importantly interior and exterior are gorgeous!!!!!

Interesting, fairly hidden little gem on the Mall. Nice book shop and modern avant-garde art exhibitions, definitely worth a visit when walking by. Free to go in and there’s a cafe and toilet inside. Exhibits change from time to time but is always interesting if you’re into art and design…

ICA used to be a great place to go to especially when they put on live concerts in the 2000's! It now feels quite neglected, perhaps lack of funding, covid etc? The bar is understocked, with very little choice. The cinema (Screen One) was freezing with a bad smell. Only 12 people seeing a newly released film on a Saturday evening. Seems to be a general lack of awareness of it's programming, A shame but hopefully it will come back to life some day soon.

Lovely bookstore, cafe and theater. I'd wager the cinema is top notch too. 10/10 would go back.

War Inna Babylon was an amazingly detailed and powerful account of recent Black British History. A must for all Black Londerners.

The best bookshop in London regarding selection of titles. Art exhibitions. Cafe. Cinema showing independent/ art House films. Talks. An exceptional cultural offering, the ICA is the best place in London that promotes contemporary thinking and critical thought (in a society that is all about mainstream consumption of homogeneous culture ).

I have somehow managed to miss this wonderful place, not sure why. Great selection of films you will not find at Vue or CineWorld...excellent books, exhibitions and of course staff.

A good and lesser-known place to watch an art film and have a drink. For an Institute of Contemporary Arts, the bookshop is perhaps over-stacked with radical leftist literature and little else.

Great Films, Art events and a chilled vibe. that isn't too expensive. The cinemas aren't massive, but comfy and intimate. Intellectual and underground, this place hS always been Essential

Always something on that fills your heart or mind. Good vibes. Has a cafe with fair prices, art & theory bookshop and a small cinema.

Went to 'Inna Babylon' exhibit. It was very good - eye opening. Will try and go again before exhibit ends in September. Worth a visit.

I went to see Summer of Soul in the Cinema here, it's a cool place to visit with a bar and shop and exhibitions. The cinema was a decent size and good screen, however the sound system was awful, I payed a fair price of 12 pound for a ticket but was extremely disappointed with the audio quality. The film was a music documentary and it was a tinny and harsh sound with zero bass, me and my girlfriend left with ringing aching ears and made the whole two hours pretty unenjoyable, hopefully this gets sorted in the future.

Went to see the War Inna Babylon exhibition, as reviewed on BBC news. I found it thought provoking and we'll documented as I am old enough to have lived in these times and remember many of the events . The staff were very helpful and the facilities were good.

Good Cinema and nice people working here at the front desk and at the cafe. Really good films are on. Would recommend!

Criminally underrated (and likely underfunded), the ICA boasts an eclectic showing of Cinema, both past and present, with exhibitions and live performances to join it. If you’re gonna be visiting more than once a month, best to snag a Red Membership. Seems pricey until you remember that once bought all films are free, along with the performances, exhibitions etc.

Awful post modern building site. The worst bar I have ever been in and the service was even worse than that. Really sad as it used to be nice

It is fantastic to see Herbert's legacy thriving. The ICA is a fabulous institute of which I am a member. The bookshop has an interesting and unique range of books and the exhibitions/films are always incredibly enlightening. I would say that membership is good value for money, and there is a student discount.

I went to see a phenomenal and eye opening exhibition here last week. I learnt so much and I spent two hours taking everything in but could have easily stayed for much longer! The staff were super nice and welcoming. Free entry for students makes it more accessible and they also offer student discounts on books and other items for sale! It was a wonderful experience and I can't wait to visit again

Not a great venue for watching films. Visited twice for BFI London Film Festival and had major visual obstructions but times. Can't see the bottom of the screen over other people's heads. Terrible if watching a movie with subtitles.

I used to come here many years ago. I was glad to see it has only changed a little bit and only for the better. The exhibits (exploring sound interactively ) was interesting and I enjoyed the cafe. Will definitely go back soon.

In Pall Mall near Buckingham Palace this Gallery has a small entrance door close to Trafalgar Square end of the Mall and spacious once inside and has lots of large rooms to display the Artwork.

Thank you for the opportunity to watch documentary "20 Days in Mariupol." However, I find it inappropriate to say "enjoy" as it was a heavy and breath-taking experience. Unfortunately, there were not many mentions about the film being broadcast, so there were few viewers (considering the number of Russians in London, they all should see it, and the halls should be full... should be sold out). It's essential not to close our eyes while enjoying the autumn sun and carefree walks with squirrels in the park. With respect.
