I loved to find this zoo in the middle of a remote park, next to a marvellous looking church. You pay £4.50 per person and you can go in and out as many times as you want. You have a coffee shop and they serve some food also. And very important that there is a toilet fairly clean. Sadly many animals were missing, perhaps they've been transferred in a warmer place as I've been visiting in winter.. However, the animals present look very well kept and seemed happy. I have to say that I instantly feel in love with the lemurs and alpacas and the gorgeous flamingos.

Considering the price of entrance being so reasonable and the small amount of staff I would say this place is very well maintained. Naturally it would be nice if a lot of these animals were able to be in their natural habitat but most of the captive facilities seem ok. It's not easy to see in some of the enclosures especially if you are short.

This zoo is simple and for children not for heavy zoo goers. The atmosphere is relaxing and easy for all adults and children alike walks are great especially for seniors and children get be with nature without the fast track of life. Staff are friendly better check out the ice cream parlor guy in there from Columbia and is extremely pleasant and good to serve clients front desk lady is just the same this place is about family and nature friendly service not main stream fast track make money quick scams. Don’t believe me check out the pictures and go yourself and enjoy a day out

It's a quiet small zoo, ok for the price (£4.50 adults). They have free parking available a short walk away. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and they are willing to answer questions I had about the animals. There are a small variety of animals, who seem well kept and happy. However, some parts are run down and broken, and it just needs a general uplift.

I took my daughter there to spend a day. A very nice place. It feels that you have come out of the hustle bustle of London. A place very close to nature. You can book the tickets either online or you can buy them from the gift shop there. There is a very good playing area for children which has a couple of activities to do to keep the kids engaged. The zoo is located in the middle of the woods which has a very good walking trail. I didn't go to the trail because didn't have time to do so but will definitely go there some day. While walking towards the zoo we crossed a small part of that trail and there were wild blackberry shrubs in abundance. I even tasted some and they were very tasty. I didn't have a bag otherwise I would have plucked some to take home. There is a kids area outside the zoo as well where they can play and spend time. Overall a day very well spent. Highly recommend place to go if you like nature walks.

Nice little zoo. Easier to see the birds, goats and donkeys than anything else. (Never got to see any lemurs). The reptile house and aquarium are closed because of Covid19 restrictions. Good playground inside. Not busy when I visited as they just reopened in April. The park outside the zoo is very nice, as well as the maze. Great playground and coffee shop too. The riverside walk nearby is also worth it.

Perfect for a morning/afternoon out with family. There’s a Zoo, gift shop, cafe, toilets, playground, maze, walking and picnic areas. Car park is a short walk away (limited space on busy days).

I have to disagree with most of the high ratings on here. This ‘zoo’ is neglected, the animals look depressed, there is over grown shrubs so visibility of the animals is poor, double netting everywhere & just really dirty. I feel sorry for the animals. They don’t have a lot of room, they look bored. The goat was alone & was so sad looking. The flamingos hardly had any water & the little water they did have was dirty. The so called aquarium was one fish tank. There was neglected cages and shrubs all over the place. We hardly saw any animals. This was a bad visit, waste of time and money and a concern for the animals.

We had a great time. We were expecting a small zoo, but it has more animals then we thought. The zoo keeper was feeding the animals at 11am, so some of them just wake up for that.

    1. Very small but nice Zoo in the middle of Brent River parks; also called Church Park since the land originally was used for arlgricultural purposes by the nearby Church before it was handed over for making park in 1902. 2. Brent River aqueducts were built in 1838 and they still ply Elizabeth Tube and fast moving SWR. Engineering marvel with old Brick Work. 3. No tickets required. 4. Last entry to Zoo is at 3PM.

The tickets were not expensive, we ordered them online. The zoo is not so big, but clean and child friendly. You can bring your dog, on leash. The zoo is in the middle of a huge park, and they have got gift shop and coffeeshop too. There is a playground there, but you can find a bigger one, just in front of the entrance.

Such a cute local place for a quick visit. Nice way to use an hour there are a few more interesting animals meercats, monkeys and plenty of birds, chickens etc. Nice place to bring kids there is a small play area. If you combine it with a visit to the maze and a wonder around bunny park it’s a nice day out. Still one family in and out of the aquarium and masks in the shop. No cafe but there is a simple one in the park or bring a picnic

This is a lovely little zoo, my little girl loved going round seeing the animals and saying what each animal was. Unfortunately when we went there wasn't many animals out, too cold and damp for them we think. Would love to go back when the weather is nicer.

Loved taking the grandchildren here. It’s a little scruffy. Lots of staff. The cafe onsite is quite expensive but there are a few seats to eat ans have a picnic.

A lovely convenient family friendly zoo went there on a day out with my boyfriend yesterday. The animals that they had to show where is surprising. I absolutely loved it. Next time. I will explore a bit more. Didn’t need to buy tickets in advance. It was about £4.90 something around that price is very reasonable, A small but a good zoo

It was a big park with lots of children's area around and to walk. Has a mini zoo in the park which you pay online. They also had a mini cafe to buy some food items, ice cream and drinks. This park has lots of space and a cool maze!

Visited on a hot afternoon but at the zoo due to its environment it was nice and pleasant . Great place to see the birds, reptiles, butterflies and other animals. Although there is not much to see. Worth the price. Can buy food and ice cream as well. Will definitely visit again.

It was ok, be warned though, their toilets are closed and you have 1 hour in the zoo, not quite long enough when you have a toddler. I use to love this place before lockdown. Quite disappointing, the guy ushering you out comes across a bit rude too

Mmm, was a little disappointed, a few things were closed like the aquarium and the reptile center and a few things were ' coming soon', I'm sure because of covid and restrictions so didn't really get to enjoy ourselves , my 2 year old im sure loved it as its very spacious so he could run around and they had a play area just outside and a sand pit play area inside. Was expecting to see more and more variety of animals.

Very cute place, I’d imagine lovely for family outing. It was a nice visit - Capybaras were here which is why we came. Wish the margay wasn’t in hiding but still - worthwhile and not expensive at all. Adult entry is only £4.50

Visited a few times. A small zoo but with plenty of animals, seemingly kept very well, friendly staff and volunteers. Look out for the margay, lemurs, turtles, flamingos, meerkats, capybaras and donkeys. Baby changing facilities available, and if early enough free parking in the nearby car park. There is also a san remo cafe nearby, the station is a short walk away, as is hanwell itself. Large playground just outside (with a small one inside the zoo) and a yew tree maze so it's possible to spend a few hours combining the zoo with other activities in the area for young children. The park in which the zoo is situated is well kept, with lots of short, litter-free grass for picnics etc. Zoo entry is just £4.50 for adults at the time of writing and under 3s go free. Surprisingly well stocked and good value gift shop too.

Cool penguin exhibit, no pun intended. Awesome view of the penguins and large enough where they seem to enjoy themselves. Recommend this over the aquarium, no fish but no hassle and a ton to see.

Old family regular get away, which has changed over the years. Still has the same layout such has, carpark (approx 40 cars), maze, playground and animal park. Prices have jumped up massively since being re-branded Hanwell Zoo as well as having fewer animals than what i recall. Still a nice day out if your looking for a half day activity.

Our recent visit to Hanwell Zoo with our family and kids was a mixed experience. On the positive side, the ticket prices were impressively affordable, making it an accessible option for families. It's always a relief to find an enjoyable outing that doesn't break the bank. However, the only disappointing aspect of our visit was the size of the zoo. It felt rather small, and we found ourselves moving through the exhibits quite quickly. While the animals were captivating and well-cared for, we wished there were more to see and explore. The visit seemed to be over in a flash, leaving us wanting more. Despite the limited size, Hanwell Zoo still provided an enjoyable outing for our family, and we appreciate the effort put into maintaining the exhibits and providing an affordable family-friendly experience. It's a great option for a short, budget-friendly excursion with the kids, but if you're looking for a larger and more extensive zoo experience, you might want to consider other options in the area.

Good value for an hour's entertainment. Some of the enclosures could do with a bit of work and I'm not sure how happy some of the birds are. However, the meerkats are a highlight and there is a fairly decent variety of animals for l a small zoo.

  • 4/5 Paul N. 3 years ago on Google
At only £4.50 per adult, you go in with low expectations but come out pleasantly surprised. There's some quite interesting animals and some less-so, but for the price it makes for a very fun and worthwhile outing without needing much time at all.

A nice little zoo with pretty good variety. Social distancing is awful. The signposts are poor and the 'one way' system is generally ignored or unclear for visitors. Hand gel dispensers in every section of the park were empty. In the current situation we all find ourselves in, this is not good enough.

Sweet little zoo tucked in Hanwell, Ealing, West of London. Lemurs, Meerkats, Flamingoes. fish and insects are few of the attractions. Good outside playing areas for the kids and one covered with sand. It has a little cafe that serves hot food such as fish and chips, omelettes, ice-cream and beverages. Very pleasant to visit and to enjoy a day out with the little ones.

I went to Hanwell Zoo last year taking a 2 and 4 year old and we loved it! As it's quite small we could go around it without rushing to try to see everything like you would try in a big zoo not missing out on anything so you can spend a very relaxing time knowing you'll have time for everything :) Staff are very friendly, the biggest hit was the pink flamingos and wathcing the red ants going around the room in a see through tunnel so you could fallow them. It has a playground and picnic area and also just outside of the zoo an other playground with a park and in the summer when we went they even had a huge bouncy castle plus an even bigger blown up slide with really fun blown up steps to go up on(most kids just coudln't stop going up and down untill they were exhausted :) ). We can't wait to go back again!

Love this place. If your little one is between 2-4 this is a goldmine. Full of fun things for them to do and dead cheap to book into. It’s not massive, but it doesn’t need to be when they’re that age. There’s a free car park there too - maybe just be careful if the schools are on holiday for parking. I’ll easily go back.

  • 1/5 Szonja H. 2 years ago on Google
I am dissapointed. people therefore still have to pay ?? the whole place is small, there are very few animals, and if there are even animals they are rarely seeable. if you want to go to a zoo look for another place a bigger. And besides, a lot of everything is closed or there are no animals and very crowded can barely be seen, plus it’s harder for kids to see them like that, I hope there will be more animals in the future.

First of all I didn't received ticket and I asked PayPal for refund but owner replied that I can bring my payment status and email to the entry. Staff are accepted my photos about payment. When visiting were so windy and poor animals hiding in their houses. Expected better. Difficult find them from station Hanwell by walking around 15 min, difficult road through the park up and down.Any instructions from station to the Zoo. £4,50 from adult.Close to the zoo small cafe where you can sit and taste ice cream or sandwich, drink cup of 🍵 ☕️ 🫖. Also close tho the zoo very nice playground which my 2,5 years boy liked so much better than zoo🤗. By the way not far zoo is a beautiful live green labyrinth and you can do great pictures. Good luck everyone!!!💙💛☺️

Amazing place... hidden within busy Londoners.. its a classic example of local community work and support for this zoo.. it is not a big zoo as you know... but its perfect for smaller kids under or up to 5 yrs. And peace lover... It also have a small sand pit, playing area and working watering Handpump (pump the water from earth itself) which is a really creative. my son spent whole day and still didnt want to leave it at the end.. the zoo keeper kicked us out.. 🤣🤣🤣😆😆😆... Price is soooo cheap just £4.50 for adult and 3.50 for kids over 3 yrs . Under 3 goes free and carer also go free. Its got free parking at the mmt but may change so keep an eye on board. I urge londoners to visit this hidden local zoo and support the zoo and its keepers. You will truly love it.. and worth spending time.

Great place for younger families especially if you want to experience a quieter take on the usual busy zoo. Hanwell Zoo has a collection of animals with a particular focus on birds. The flamingos are stunning as are the collection of peacocks. There’s a small gift shop but not much else, so would advise you bring your own snacks.

Nice little zoo. I lived in London for years but didn’t know about this place. It is larger than I expected. And for £4.50 per person, it was nice to walk around for 30 mins. Meerkats are extremely cute and the flamingoes are vibrant. They have a little “aquarium” room, toilet, gift shop, play area and a cafe. It is nothing like the London zoo but with a fraction of the price, it was lovely to combine a walk at Brent Lodge park.

Visited today (15th June 2023). With the weather being a bit warm these days, most of the animals were sleeping in the shade, but I'm not taking points away for that. Animals have to do what they can against the heat. For the low admission fee, it's not too bad a place, but to be honest I could see more potential than anything else. It's in such a nice location but inside the actual zoo the plants and grasses are too overgrown to really say it's a must-see experience. I liked what I did see, and the animals do seem pretty well-cared for, but there was always the sense of... more could be done in terms of the beautification. In short, I did enjoy my time here, no doubt. Will I recommend it? I think it's worth a visit once at least, especially as getting there via the meadows was a bit of an adventure for me. I think having the grounds trimmed more often will easily bump this little zoo up to 4 or even 5 stars. Note - I did not visit the cafe, but the gift shop was pretty nice. Second note - there were a few families around and the kids did seem to enjoy the experience so I'll bump up my rating to 3.5 stars. EDIT - If you do have young kids, it's a very nice place. For adults without kids, it's not a bad place but it's not stunning either. Except the meerkats and miniature donkeys. They are very cool.

It is a lovely little zoo but needs so much love, care and support to keep it going its good for kiddies under the age of 4 older ones will definitely get bored. Thats a massive field area for picnics dog walking, there's a maze and a park too.

Hanwell Zoo is a fantastic destination for animal lovers of all ages. Located in the heart of Hanwell, this charming zoo offers a unique and interactive experience that will leave you captivated. One of the standout features of Hanwell Zoo is its diverse collection of wildlife. From exotic birds to fascinating reptiles and mammals, the zoo showcases a wide variety of species from around the world. It's a great opportunity to get up close and personal with animals you may have only seen in books or on TV.

Nice small zoo with affordable tickets. Few interesting animals, no rabbits though. Great playground which unfortunately is falling apart. Uneven paths, not good for wheelchairs.
