I went there on the 23rd of December 2022 for a good night out So let's start with the good points 1. My date looked super hot 🔥 🥰 2. The music was banging 🎶 3. There was a 24-hour McDonald's next door, and you will see why important later Now for the bad points 1. On flyer it said 10pm to 4am and as I was working on Saturday I wanted to get in early as was not planning on staying until 4am, now it wasn't open at 10pm OK I have been to enough clubs to know most don't open on time. So off to McDonald's to sit in the warm to wait for club to open, club was not open at 10:30 😱 or 11pm come on now someone is taking the P, the club opened at 11:30pm now normally I would be gone but we had got tickets in advance so pretty much had to wait. Also no one said sorry for the late opening. 2. Cost of putting in your coat is different from cash to card, now come on who carry cash now days 3. On the flyer there was a dress code smart casual 😂🤣😂 there was no point so many people were wearing trainers I thought I was at the gym, as well as hats, tracksuits, hoodie etc. Now I don't mind what people wear but don't put one thing on the flyer and do another on the night. 4. £10 minimum at the bar for paying with cards, yet again I say who carrys cash now days So my final words on the night out are it was a good night out(thanks to my date and the music), and I'm not saying I will never go there again but definitely will not get there early 🤣

A joke - I wanted to give 0 stars I was hired to Perform last night at a show at this venue. My boss rented out the venue and paid to have it to ourselves, including the cost of the venue and security. The way we where treated was shocking and disgusting form the minuet we entered. (Even before as we where refused entry multiple times) In 10 years I have never been ID Checked, bag searched, and refused a jacket to my own job. I was not there as a customer but as a trained professional performer. We had to fight to have a female search our work bags full of lingerie and then had a fight to take our jackets in. (I’m not going in wearing lingerie without a coat for safety and any security guard caring about my safety would understand this). After being surrounded by 5 male members of staff I then had a bar staff member in my face constantly flash a torch in my eyes when I HAVE SEIZURES. She was repeatedly asked to stop and didn’t. I then had another member of staff man handle my friend who was also performing while they checked her bag. The women who was running the night had sent a list of what was expected from the venue and gave them a chance to read and respond or add to it. They did not. So any “enforcements” could have been told to our company before hand! I have managed a RNB night club myself, worked and visited many in and around london and never ever have I seen or even herd of a jacket rule being enforced EVER. And if you are forced to do something like that by the council you should not be charging for it. You don’t have a sex licence to have strippers in the past on your Instagram yet have had them so why In force a coat rule so much. Pick and choose I say. Considering we where paying to be there and paying people’s wages for the night. We would think we could of gotten better reception. Never using this venue again and will be telling other companies I know who wish to book.

Absolutely terrible. Bar service is extremely slow with no sense of urgency from staff. The security are awful and extremely rude I’ve never experienced such rude staff at a venue. I literally did not even want to enter the building due to the behaviour of security but had no choice as it was my friends birthday. You are forced to put your jacket in the cloakroom I have never experienced this ever! This is clearly a scam to pull in more money. Such a shame because I’d love to support this black run business but they never receive another penny from me. The worst hospitality I have ever experienced. Surprised these guys are still in business.

My ticket stated that event started at 10 and I arrived roughly at 11:20pm and the security guards kept on saying 5 minutes like wth. It started pouring with rain and random people got to go in it was ridiculous. For some reason they connected 2 events together but yet kept people separate so it’s either you go to one or the other but you don’t get to choose. We came in and there was no cloakroom like are you joking? The djs kept on changing every 30 min and there was really long silent periods where the was no music so it was awkward

Nice vibe in here everyone having a good time, staff on the door pretty friendly. Played afrobeats n bashment, no guys harassed me either which was nice. Would come again :)

Honestly, I don't understand why we had to pay 20 pounds to get in? The DJ talked WAY too much, we couldn't even enjoy the music. At face value it appeared the dress code was strict, but it wasn't. Guys were wearing durags, women wearing shoes... It's more for the 18-24 year old crowd in my humble opinion. Not worth 20 pounds.

Main concern: Lacks security. Other issues: DJ talks too much (tried to be an MC) and entry fee is way too high for what the place is. No sense of security: Security generally lackadaisical and no visible presence inside the venue or in the smoking area - this place really does need good security considering some of the questionable clientele. On entry, they carried out a frisk search which was so incomplete they might as well not have bothered. On the night I went, present was a large group of young men with a number of them wearing full face balaclavas and at one point entered the DJ booth to intimidate the DJ into playing 'drill' music - which noone wants to hear on a night out (apart from that group of course). It appeared as if the group were looking for trouble and there was no security intervention, are your security colleagues afraid to do their job or are they just not paid enough? Minor issues: DJ plays good music but cuts in way too much over the music to speak, almost trying to be an MC which he's not actually great at. Also, £20 entry fee for this type of venue on Old Kent Road - really?

Absolutely excellent. Security was great, stopped a few individuals who were suspicious. The dress code WAS followed, unlike other reviewers say. The business seems as if its run by honest people as everything seems pretty up to scratch and no corners were cut overall. Music was great, and if your single and looking for something I highly recommend 😉. Met a beautiful girl there who was willing to book a hotel for the night. If anyone has any dinner recommendations let me know 😂😉. Overall a great place, great music, great people, great staff. 5 stars.

THE OWNER IS NUTS!! I was trying to park and wasn't sure what way was best, he came over and told me where to park but after that he gave me a face of disgust, like I am the reason for whatever issue he has in life. I asked if he was ok and that was that . Mins after, I was walking to the gate to go up to the restaurant and he met me at the gate. He stated that people must be careful with how they speak to people and I said "Exactly'. He got upset again and said that he can tell me something that I would not like, I asked him and what would that be... He replied, I am the owner and you are not allowed to enter. I simply responded "Do you feel better now?". What's weird is that he obviously had a problem and wanted to use someone as an outlet but I wasn't giving him that. I left and went and spent my miner somewhere else. It's crazy how some people try to show dominance by the material possessions they have. What's weird is that I actually don't care. As a business owner myself all I can say is, I'm surprised he still have a license, if that is the way he deals with people

The albino guy guarding the cloakroom for the never leave sober event was being aggressive and charging everyone different prices, felt attacked just because I was different skin colour from everyone else there, ruined my night so thanks for that

Rude security staff, overpriced and the event was very boring. Visited with friends from abroad and one of the staff were getting rude, not helpful.

I love this club. Been coming here for the past couple of years . The atmosphere is great. Everyone enjoying themselves and the DJs are great. I come here for the dancehall music and u never been let down. Security is strict but polite. I Iove the airy smoking area. I am from West London and feel very safe at this South London club. I definitely recommend you come here if you like your bashment/dancehall music. I am heading there now 😃!

Your door staff - security are so rude and somewhat bullying - frisking ladies like we’re criminals and forcing to hand over out coats for a charge of 2.00. The group of them need to be on video to show how unprofessional they behave. I was freezing and it’s my choice whether to give my coat in or not. I felt very uncomfortable from the poor door reception. The drinks are extremely overpriced. 60.00 for a bottle of Prosecco and they don’t sell by the glass. Daylight robbery. I’d never return nor recommend to anyone. It was like the bronx…. Never had such an awful experience

Staff is VERY rude! Starting at the door, the bouncers were VERY rude and literally pushing us to go inside even tho there was NOBODY behind us waiting to get in. Then they have a no coats policy inside so you have to hand your jacket to the cloak room and they charge you 2 £ if you pay by cash and 3 £ if you pay by card ????????? Please can someone explain what the reason for that is. I even asked them if we all pay together ( 4 coats, which would be 8£) if they would still charge us 3£ per coat if we pay by card and they said yes? THEN I had the maddest altercation with one lady at the bar. I ordered 2 drinks ( 1 double rum with coke and 1 double rum with lemonade) she poured me 2 rum with coke. I told her that I wanted 1 with coke and 1 with lemonade. SHE GOT SOOOO UPSET WITH ME AND SAID SHE ASKED ME TWICE BLABLABLA and then wanted be to pay for the drinks still!!!!! I told her I was not going to pay for it I want her to pour me a new drink cause I do not like coke !!! I even apologized and told her that there surely was a misunderstanding as the music is loud and maybe I did not hear everything she said.. BUT STILL SHE WANTED ME TO PAY FOR A DRINK THAT I DID NOT WANT 😂😂. I went over to another bar tender who then went to talk to her and then she had the audacity to come back to me and tell me well she asked me twice. AT THIS POINT I ALMOST LOST IT. I told her that I was not going to pay for that. I want another drink and that this is REALLYYYY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. She then apologized and poured me another drink. NEVER HAVE I EVER HAD TO HAVE A FULL ON DISCUSSION OVER A WRONG DRINK. I won’t be going back there, these guys clearly don’t want my money !!

Wouldn't recommend. Unorganized and rude staff. So fussy about coats and jackets. Minimum payment for card for drinks is £10 which is odd, I had to get a few drinks (1, alcohol and two non alcoholic) make the £10 to use card as I don't carry cash.

This place should be closed down nothing but violent trouble every weekend !!!

Staff were really nice however. The djs were not good I recommended top songs to get people dancing they only played 1 of them like 3 hours later and only then people started dancing. I would of just gone somewhere else if I knew the music was gonna be this dry. Sometimes it wasn’t bad but gurantee even I would of gotten people dancing.

Celebrated my 25th birthday, I had such an amazing time that I lost my jacket and phone in the club but when I called the next day I was told to come and pick it up. Birthday experience was great birthday shoutout, que jumps. its my brothers birthday next month and we already know what we're doing.

Where do I star club701 trash and crowded imagine they said they postponed my event and then charged 20 pound on entry. Asked for a refund because of the harassment I got from one of the uncles in the club. Hardly any security. Within 5 seconds of turning up to the door there was arguing and people waiting an hour to get into the club. TRASH do not go here. EDIT: No I was not informed that it was postponed, so let’s not lie to ourselves now.
