Hidden gem. The Leake Street Tunnel, London - also known as the "Graffiti Tunnel" - a fun place to explore. Fantastic creativity and art work on display. if you are the sort of person who enjoys the colourful and the unusual, then head over to the Leake Street Tunnel & have your camera ready, and prepare to be pleasantly amazed. So many works of art.

One of the best places in London to visit without being cliche. Every time in London I had to check out this place, because the graffiti is constantly changing. And the graffiti art showcased here is world-class top notch, as shown on photos. Fellow visitors, please respect the artwork, thank you!

A must visit site for graffiti fans visiting London. It is behind Waterloo train station. You have to get to the canal from the street where dozens of taxis are lined up to pick up customers from the big train station. The canal was probably used by buses arriving at the station in the past. Now it is an abandoned canal, discovered by graffiti artists. The place is colorful and amazing, renewing its face every day. On the one hand, it's sad that beautiful paintings don't survive more than a few weeks. Artisans come who paint on the older works. I was there on a normal weekday, a number of artists were painting in the place. 6 worked together on one painting. Only art lovers come to the place. Everything is colorful and fun. You can stand for long minutes and enjoy each painting. All this beauty is displayed for free for all to enjoy.

Chanced upon this place while strolling around. Edgy, potentially not for everyone but if you give it a few minutes and immerse yourself in it you may think this is a hidden gem, full of graphitti artists working on already full walls and ceilings. Experienced a product launch which was a great experience, apparently there are regular photo and video shoots here

Great place for the lovers of graffiti! Not my case although my curiosity took me those steps down to the unknown place in the middle of the afternoon after leaving Waterloo Train Station πŸš‰ Some of the graffiti are really good! Real Artist hands put some brilliant work for the public to see for free. I even saw an artist making his own graffiti, unexplainable how he could do it on the ceiling arch in such a way! Great Job 🀩

Really nice place to visit. Smell of fresh spray paint, vivid colors, and sound of clicking metal ball inside of a shaking spray can… man it was superb. Must see while in London, you need a minimum of 5 minutes to get through; with so much stuff around, you don’t have an excuse.

Although graffiti art is not really my thing there was some really amazing pieces of art and such a really interesting place to visit. You know you found the right place when you walk up to the tunnel entrence and get the strong smell of spray paint. It's a great place to revisit as there is constantly art being done over the top of the previous so it will always be changing. I'm glad I visited and hope to go back again in the future and see all different art that's been done.

It was a super cool place with lots going on. It's a tunnel with graffiti all around and on that Friday night i was there, artists were doing graffiti on different walls. You can see their creations in real life. It's just amazing. Some people were playing live music. Saw food truck there too. And it seems there's some bars around as i saw queues (couldn't confirm as i didn't go close to see). Lots of young people hanging around.

We found it by coincidence but it was totally worth it . So many differents types of graffiti that are pure art . It had such a wonderful vibe to it and we were very lucky to see one of the artist at work . Definitely take the time to have a stop to enjoy the beauty of it .

This is a lovely strip close to Waterloo that’s currently dominated by street art and pop ups, with a couple of galleries even opening in the station itself off the back of it. It’s always dynamic and fluid and pieces don’t last long before another artists is layering on top, so it’s a great place to watch artists work and meet them. In the arches, there’s a nice range of bars, burger joints etc, but you can kill a fun hour just enjoying the incredible pieces from the artists

Fun graffiti tunnel located close to and underneath Waterloo station. Free to enter and the about 150 meters long. As we walked through there were actually a couple of people making new art. So it's always changing.

As a young London tour guide, this was one of the lesser-known places I took my group on our 3-day trip around Westminster, Waterloo, and the general central area. The artwork is fantastic, and the tunnel was one of the most enjoyed places on the tour, the reason this place does not get a 5 star rating from me, is simply because I can imagine it to be fairly dangerous at night, and I would recommend to only visit in full daylight, I will also advise to watch out for cars and motorbikes that may be passing through the tunnel, remember, it's still a road essential to the cities infrastructure.

Great street art, very creative. We watched an artist in action for a few minutes. I was disappointed so many think tagging others' work is art. Perhaps they will step up later on and become the next wave of street artists.

Some of the best graffiti art in London. If you are lucky you will get to experience the luxury of seeing the artists creating the art then and there. Worth going back regularly as it is a street gallery that constantly evolves.

One of the best places in London to view graffiti street art. The artwork is painted over constantly so you’ll never see the same paintings twice. Worth a stroll through. Also a great spot for urban photo shoots. Every time I’ve been here there are artists at work and it’s apparently a legal place to do graffiti.

Graffiti art here is lively. It is changing rapidly. When I have been here, there is almost always someone spraying. Some days there are lots of nice murals, other days there is nothing but graffiti scribbles. It is great to have a place where this art style is celebrated.

A not to be missed tunnel of art. Watch graffiti artists at work and grab a shot of what you like because it may not be there tomorrow. Someone on here wrote that it is very run down, well that's part of the charm and what attracted these artists in the first place. Eye candy for the artistic.

I really enjoyed walking through here. Some of the work was really good and creative, some less so. I think you can go back over and over as the works are frequently painted over. Spent some time talking to artists, which was great to hear experiences. One artist there let you do some painting on his work, which was fun.

The graffiti tunnel is a vibrant, constantly changing and amazing stretch of road found near Waterloo, on Leake Street. The walls will never be πŸ’― the same each time you visit. Very easy to reach as but stop is just outside the tunnel and one stop after Waterloo Bridge. Some very nice graffiti , some not so nice and some were ruined by other people. Worth stopping if you are going around the area but definitely not worth going just to see the tunnel. Tunnel is quite instagrammable, if that's what you are looking for. I was not , so I was left a bit disappointed.

Amazing artistic place where to go for a walk whilst in central London. It is quite hidden, the easiest way to find it is by exiting Waterloo station from platform 1-10 and keeping right until you find a small walkway entrance with lights. There is usually someone making up some new wall art during day and night

This graffiti tunnel is a constantly changing piece of art. Every time you visit, there is always something different to admire. The air smell of fresh can-paint and the colours on the wall make this tunnel incredibly magic. Had a 24 hour layover so my girlfriend and I made a point to check this place out. Highly recommend if you enjoy graffiti/street art. Some very awesome pieces, some very recent one about some current affairs. I just love when cities give artists the space to create and show the world their skill. There was a lot to take in, but it can be seen and enjoyed in a 30 minute time frame. We spent about an hour taking lots of pictures and even watched an artist lead a class inside the tunnel.

I read about Leake Street Arches in the guidebook so we visited on our last trip to London. A really worth seeing place with great graffiti artwork. Not far from the London Eye and Waterloo Station, definitely worth a detour. Graffiti artists gather in a long former road tunnel and show off their skills. Omg I love this place! It's amazing to have one space in London where artists can do graffiti and where we can enjoy it! This is the first time I visited but won't be the last as everyday the walls and ceilings change, one graffiti mural replaced by another one. Please, if you want to try using a spray can for the first time do it in areas which won't just ruin some of the professionals work just so that everyone can have a chance to enjoy it. If you have a great project in mind to replace it go for it but unfortunately I saw people who didn't even know how to fit a cap in the can trying to spray on top of a lovely piece or artwork, which ended up spraying himself because he held the can wrong. Also, DON'T spray it everywhere! Someone sprayed it in the air as some people were walking by, that's not cool... And you could hurt someone :/ if it got into their eyes. Visit this place, London doesn't offer enough space for graffiti artists and making it relevant is a way to secure the future of graffiti artists.

LEAK STREET TUNEL is one of my favourite places to see street art in the world. Last time I went, I saw a blek le rat, it has been covered in plasic to protect it, so you should still be able to see it. Fascinating. Like a theme ride for urban art. It does take away a bit of the inherent rebellious nature of graffiti art but it's still edgy art. Plus I'm a big fan of art outside of the confines of a museum.

One of the best places to see street art in London. The tunnel is part of the Leake Street Arches with some truly outstanding artwork on display, every inch is covered with vibrant graffiti and street art. It’s hard to believe that these pieces were created with just spray paint. The best part is, you can keep revisiting and it will always be different because the art is always changing. The tunnel also has a vault theatre, bar and restaurant. A must visit if you're in the area.

Leake Street tunnel is very cool. I recommend visiting at night when the traffic in the tunnel is much lower and allows you to get better pictures. It's within walking distance of plenty of things so you can grab a bite or explore right after l leaving. The artist that contribute are extraordinary and can be found working throughout the day

Well worth the visit weather you are into this art form or not. On show is some bog standard graffiti as well as some truly outstanding artwork. It was also interesting to see a recently painted over section where graffiti artists of all ages were creating their own works. The only downside was it was not well lit and pretty grotty as well, but maybe that is intentional.
