It's amazing to think that some 40 years ago, Canary Wharf was just a barren docklands area. However, by 1987, the whole area had been transformed into the glass towered financial district, created because there was a lack of space in the City of London. Canary Wharf is now more than a financial business area. In addition to the high rises that dominate its Skyline, there are many bars, resteraunts, gardens, and shops. Every December, Canary Wharf plays host to the Winter Lights festival, an exhibition of art using lights to give a full sensory experience.

The Thames look elegant the buildings have a really nice touch and the shopping centre is packed with many shops that you can shop till you drop! If you love London and you love shopping then this is the place you would want to be! 5 stars!

I absolutely love Canary wharf....been coming here since it was literally just one Skyscraper, Canada Square....now, its a huge vibrant district of apartments, offices, bars, shops, venues, Caffè and parks....architecturally as vibrant an area as possible for me, everytime you come another floor has been added to the latest new build Skyscraper....

Amazing buildings. Its like new manhattan. However, it's a bit too far from central London. Also could not find a lot of restaurants as one would expect to as it is the financial district.

The best place to visit in a London where lots of shops, park and excitement. It's a very busy place but clean and most or professional people. It's not really big but there fee top brands and it's kind of hidden place in London.

Top class and elaborate centre . Highly suggest going just for the tourism. It's surrounded by elegant water gardens. Skyscrapers fill the air. Truly a remarkable sight. Atmospheric lighting adds the final touchπŸ™†β€β™‚οΈπŸ€©πŸ‘

Beautiful mall. A lot of upmarket shops but a good mix, especially H&B, Boots, M&S and a big Waitrose, also Snappy Snaps (though Boots photo is cheaper, and do it online, is more efficient). Also a Tesco metro at the top. Also the online Babylon GP has a clinic there. Dyson's - very useful! Lots of places for food and drink and ice cream. And excellent public toilets. And be prepared to get lost!

Canary Wharf is made up of two plush, marble floored, glass shop fronted shopping centres, Cabot Place on the DLR (which has a Waitrose and John Lewis) and Jubilee Place on the Jubilee line (which has an M&S Food). They are linked by a labyrinth of corridors so you don't have to go outside if you don't want to, although in the summer the outdoor spaces around the Wharf are so lovely, with places to eat and drink and entertainment a-plenty. It's a true destination for a family day out, and for serious shoppers with top brands such as Kiehl's, Penhaligon's, The Kooples, Peloton and so many more. Only loses one star for being quite hard to navigate, could do with improved signage and more touchscreen centre maps, but generally it's clean, secure, and you'll find all you'll need for a quality shopping and more.

This is a really cool area with lot of shops and restaurants. We went to Five guys that is open till midnight on weekend which was such a save. Also, there are many supermarkets and boutiques. It's really accessible and connects to Jubilee line too. I have to say very clean and well managed shopping mall.

Very modern shopping area located underneath Canary Wharf. There’s both cheaper fashion stores and the most exquisite designer retail stores. Loved the cleanliness and water refilling stations and it’s nice to go and hide away from the heat above for a couple hours.

What a great shopping centre. It's well maintained and clean. There is a big range of stores throughout the shopping centre. It's a massive place and whilst there are maps available to take with you it's so easy to get lost it all looks the same it didn't really bother me as I was just walking around exploring London I just went wear I ended up.

Overall pretty good. Living in Greenwich I treat this as my main shopping centre. It's indoors, which is a bonus in the Autumn and Winter. Also has a wider range of cheaper priced outlets than you'd imagine, e.g Gregg's as an alternative to the higher end coffee places.

The square is a vibrant hub, home to numerous companies, restaurants, and pubs, framed by towering skyscrapers. It's a sight to behold in the morning, with professionals in sharp blazers bustling about. The waterside stroll is delightful, making it an ideal location for both personal and professional meetings.

I was delivering a leadership and management course for a client at Canary Wharf yesterday. I just love the vibe of the place and all there is to do there. It's well worth a visit for retail therapy, eating places, bars, and entertainment.

It is one of my first favourite places to visit and explore. It reminds me of when I peeked at the lovely views of Canary Wharf by chilling out, meeting new friends and doing shopping at the shopping centre< There is also Waitrose as well on 16-19 Canada Square.

Excellent location! Nice view. One Canada Square dominates the scene, which is surrounded by smaller buildings. It is visible in many places around London that a flashing red light warns aircraft at the building highest point, the pyramid, on top of the building.

The must place to go on the Finchley road I know it from when I worked up here with my friend from the suburbs, it is a small but well laid out mall, alas half the shops have gone due to COVID which is a great pity because this is a great place to visit, what remains shows the resilience of the shop owners and how good a place this, I was happy to see the ice cream bar come coffee shop has survived on the ground floor, that nandos and wagamama are doing a brisk trade again helped along by the reopening of the Vue cinema, ( a chain not to taken lightly, they have their finger on the pulse on films being released ), and this is one of the best malls i know of, as they say small but perfectly formed, I would suggest before you venture home, you take the escalator down to the the lowest level and make a visit to Sainsbury's, I shopped here for several years when I worked here, a quick shop before I headed home to the city of London, big store, plenty on offer and in season has amazing fresh produce, it is the most pleasant Sainsbury's supermarket's I have shopped in, well laid out, never too busy at the cheçkouts unless it is a Friday night when everyone wants to get home, places like the O2 centre at Finchley road are worth our time to visit and helps support the shops struggling to survive, also it will give you an excuse to to visit somewhere different and enjoy the many different parts of London that you might know, or just head off somewhere on a whim within this great city, because it is there and you haven't been there before, what better reason to visit somewhere like the O2 centre at Finchley road ?

This is an amazing shopping centre! So many shops, places to get coffee, food markets, clothing, luxury and much more... The only issue we had was when we actually nearly missed it while being a guest at one of the hotels of the Canary Wharf - we did not imagine such a city underground existed and we only got there by chance coming back from a trip with the tube (subway). Perfect shopping centre for anything we could imagine - enormous in size and vast offering of so many brands and shops....

On our recent trip to london we decided to visit Canary Wharf. We went to see Canary wharf winter lights in particular. We are so glad we did that. It is one of the most unexpected places in London. It's a business district with world famous companies and a cluster of tallest commercial complexes and residential high-rise buildings, but it's way more than that. There are parks, gardens, shopping centres, cafes and restaurants, gyms, activities and places for kids. For winter lights, there are lots of beautiful light installations and art exhibits scattered through the complex. It's a huge place, and navigating through it is not an easy task. Even with a map, we struggle to locate a few places, but there are lots of staff members around to help you. Also, finding a car park is a nightmare. Very confusing. If it it is your first time going there by car, be aware of that and plan ahead. There is also a West india quay car park just across the road from Canary Wharf. We couldn't see all of the light installations and fixtures, but the one's we saw they were amazing and interesting. We'll definitely be going back there. If you're in London and looking for things to do, Canary Wharf is a must-see.

Has a decent amount of shops in the shopping centre, the car park price was reasonable. The security staff was extremely helpful. The toilet is clean despite being busy. Outside the shopping centre you can go for a beautiful walk with spectacular views.

London's answer to Manhattan and Central/Admiralty, Hong Kong. They have the Jubilee Park on top of the Jubilee Line underground station, which is also a good place to relax. There is also Crossrail/Elizabeth Line to central London and all the way to Heathrow, which makes this location very convenient to live in even thought it's not a zone 1 location. There are 2 Chinese supermarkets (both Tian Tian) and you can find Ippudo Ramen here too.

I really enjoy the atmosphere here at christmas the decorations here make it feel like a high end type of place to be. Walking distance is not too far to many shops unfortunately the retailers are quite small so you wouldn't really compare it to somewhere like Westfield. The place is so conveniently in the train station for DLR and Tube so getting around and across the river is super easy.

The shopping centre is a busy area to shop sometimes when it busier in midweeks and weekends. I buy newspaper at newsagent in the centre all the time when l'm on my way to work. I haven't bought something at other shops, some cheap and some expensive really to be honest with. One day l buy something at one of the shops if l can afford it really. But l stick with cheaper prices instead of expensive price. At least save up your money of what you want to get and what you like.

Was a nice pleasant experience even though there were some people who were unable to follow the simple one way #COVID19 system which is clearly marked. The stores are not the flagship stores you find on #OxfordStreet but most of the higher end stores are able to #order and #deliver any items they don't have to your home address.

It's a nice shopping centre with good food and relatively fancy shops, not much else to say about it. It should be pretty easy to get to as well once the Elizabeth Line direct link opens up. Canary Wharf is best known forΒ its tallest building, the 235-metre One Canada Square. The tower held the record for being the tallest structure in the United Kingdom from 1990 (when it overtook Tower 42 in the City of London) until 2010 (when it was surpassed by The Shard in south London).

  • 5/5 B. A. 1 year ago on Google
#1 Canary Wharf was one of the world’s busiest docks between the 19th and early 20th centuries. Popular products including sugar and rum were shipped to and from the docks during this period. You can see sugar warehouses dating back to 1802 when standing upon the floating pontoon bridge of Wren Landing. #2 Canadian property tycoon Paul Reichmann provided much of the funding for the development of Canary Wharf. He conducted talks with various members of London’s business community in 1987; establishing the widespread desire for the change of premises. Construction began the following year. #3 Designed by Caesar Pelli and completed in 1991; One Canada Square stood as the tallest building in London (244m) until the construction of the Shard in 2012. With its matte stainless steel structure, this awe-inspiring building is a symbol of Central London’s economic regeneration. #4 The Canary Wharf Group (CWG) have taken the lead in creating an action plan for the encouragement of local biodiversity. They have installed a range of ecological features including bird boxes, bee-hives, and insect hotels in the newest residential developments. #5 There has been significant investment and development along the eastern waters of the West India docks and stretching to Wood Wharf. A complex of residential, entertainment, and commercial buildings has been built in this affluent area. #6 The Jubilee Park garden sits atop the roof of the Jubilee Line Station. With its mature Metasequoia trees and channelled water features, this garden is a popular lunch-time resting spot. #7 The quadrangle Cannon Workshops are just a short walk away from the main dock area. Previously used for the storage of traditional work tools, these units feature distinctive red doors, which can’t be painted over due to the Grade II listing. #8 The magnificent skyscrapers of Canary Wharf are home to some of the world’s best-known financial institutions. Employees of HSBC, Citigroup, and other major banks make their way to the wharf each working day. #9 There are an estimated 100,000 employees working for the businesses of Canary Wharf. Further growth is expected following recovery from the pandemic. #10 A new Crossrail station is set to be opened by the close of 2022. This will connect Canary Wharf to Heathrow Airport; with an estimated travelling time of 40 minutes. The Crossrail station has an underground tunnel, with a multi-coloured mural painted by contemporary artist Camille Walala.

Not so over crowded, clean and spacious. The arty crosshill was exciting to walk along and the rooftop garden was a surprise- beautiful plants and a lovely walk.

Perfect location to eat, work, meet friends and go shopping. The water around the Canary Wharf creates a specific climate that can be enjoyed through various pedestrian lines with limited traffic, but crowded. Former dockland place for ships from Canary Islands 🌴 Was surprised today to see people swimming πŸŠβ€β™€οΈπŸ€”

You could spend a day here and in the surrounding area. Plenty of retail outlets and restaurants. The harbour side is a good spot to stop for a sandwich.

My review is mostly for parking: "Canada place" shopping centre's parking is one of the worst shopping centre parkings I saw 1. There are no machines to pay for parking at the exit - basically you need to go/drive to different place just to park + it's not properly signed - never saw anything like that 2. It's quite expensive comparing to other places like e.g. Westfield + there is no option to validate the parking e.g. if you spend over some amount of money - I'd be e.g. coming to do shopping in Waitrose much more often if expensive parking wasn't the case

Free 3h parking on weekends and bank holidays with Β£10 spend (which isn't hard). Great place to meet friends and family for a meal or just a spot of shopping.

I always like visiting this area when working around here. I don’t do it just because there are so many delicious food and drinks with cuisines from across the world. πŸ—Ί 🀩 If you slow down your pace and have a look into the buildings 🏘, the walls 🧱, the roads πŸ›£, the trees 🌳, the leaves ☘️, the fruits πŸ’, and ... the Ship πŸ›₯ and the Duck πŸ¦†swimming in the water πŸ’¦ , you will sense a dynamic and lively mixture of colors, cultures, and tastes. πŸ™Œ Take some time to explore the area, and I am sure you will find something amazing. Enjoy! πŸ₯°

Used to be Canary Wharf was quiet on a weekend, not any more. There is a buzz in the area now; with some great venues to hangout, shop, or eat and drink. I also enjoyed watching the tennis on the big screen.

Met friends at Fairgame before going to Market Hall for bite to eat. Didn't have time to explore but there's lots around - cinema, food shops.... Worth a visit.

We had a great evening walking around, taking in the sights and sounds. We found a lovely South Korean restaurant and had a delicious dinner. The gardens scattered around were lovely to stroll through.

Can't really rate it as a shopping centre because Marks & Spencer and Caffe Nero are the only shops there but both are very clean and nicely laid out. The whole place in general is spotless and nice and bright. When this place is full and all retail spaces filled it's going to be a winner.

Interesting area in and around Canary Wharf how the shopping centre is very fragmented and intertwined within lower levels of the buildings. Not your conventional shopping mall. The areas are separate but connected and the store list and locators few and far between only showing that one vertical area. If that’s your thing it’s great, honestly though for me, it was just too much work to walk from section to another then up and down.
