I
booked
this
room
for
the
evening
before
a
matinee
at
the
Barbican
Theatre,
which
was
minutes
away
on
foot
and
seemed
perfectly
located
(it
was
-
it
only
took
longer
to
get
there
due
to
poor
map
reading).
The
foyer
was
bright
and
welcoming,
and
everything
seemed
well,
especially
given
the
accessibility
needs
of
my
partner.
As
such,
we
required
a
room
with
further
accessibility,
which
was
available.
When
we
got
in
to
the
room,
it
was
another
story.
We
had
no
illusions
that
it
would
be
luxury,
and
were
expecting
a
fairly
unfurnished,
box
room
with
a
uncomfortable
bed
for
the
night,
so
that
wasn't
an
issue.
However,
it
seemed
that
it
being
a
room
with
an
accessibility
function,
its
design
and
the
cleanliness
seemed
like
an
after
thought.
The
bathroom
furniture
(wall
bars
and
shower
seat),
was
rusted,
not
mechanically
sound
and
in
terrible
repair.
The
sink
leaked
on
to
the
bathroom
floor
and
the
handle
for
the
toilet
was
hanging
by
a
thread
and
actually
needed
multiple
rotations
to
catch
in
the
mechanism.
As
such,
my
partner
required
my
assistance
to
use
the
bathroom
and
to
use
the
shower
as
the
furniture
was
not
fit
for
purpose.
My
partner
also
has
a
'normal'
sized
wheelchair,
and
the
space
between
the
bed
and
the
wall
meant
that
the
bathroom
was
not
accessible
without
my
assistance.
In
addition
to
this,
the
floor
did
not
appear
to
have
been
swept
and
as
such,
my
partner
got
a
tiny
piece
of
glass
in
her
foot.
Looking
at
the
photos
that
have
been
posted,
if
you
don't
need
an
accessible
room,
you'll
be
fine.
Those
who
do,
beware.
This
is
a
long
shot
from
the
excellent
service
you
receive
from
the
more
well
known
Easy
brand.
