A good hotel for its price. The location is within a few minutes of the Gloucester Underground station. The staff can be bit distand and disinterested. Our twin bedroom did have a few small problems: I can't put my legs in front of me on the toilet because of the shower placed to close. You can't really walk between the beds and the wall, so you'll probably need to jump over the bed to get to the window or other bed. The breakfast was quite good, with white and brown bread with possibility to roast, one type of cheese and meat, bananas, apples and also some types of cereals. In conclusion, it is a good hotel for its price, but don't expect too much.

Room was not what was reflected on bookings. It didn't include air conditioning and beds were using cheap springy mattresses. Staff were not able to make decisions and mostly pass on the responsibility to the staff coming in the next day. The baggage storing room was 100x nicer than the guest staying room. Only redeemable fact is that it is near the tube (about 10 mins walk), otherwise please do not stay at this place. You have been warned.

Very good location, close to metro station. Old hotel, with small rooms, some with no natural light or very small windows, good standard breakfast but no variety. But all the young people at the reception were smiling and very polite and tried to make our stay wonderful.

The best is its location, the worst is the breakfast and the worst of all is the mattress... horrible to the point of noticing ALL the springs.

Sure a nice place to stay! Close to many things (tube, fastfoods, pubs, museums) and the breakfast is good enough. Nevertheless, our room wasn't as clean as we could have expected... anyway, I'm sure that this happens sometimes! So no offense and all that remains is a great THANK YOU to all the crew for making our stay so pleasant!

Not recommended, room is very small and everything smells very musty, bathroom is also very small and not very clean. We are disappointed and expected something better. Because the pictures of the room in the travel agency looked very good, it was also much larger. We will report this to our travel agency and take photos.

Quiet and small hotel located on a fairly quiet street but close to Gloucester road tube station and 20-30 min walk to major attractions. It is a "no frills" very basic hotel, but was clean and served its purpose for sleeping and showering. Their european continental breakfast was adequate.

Booked for a single night for the 2 of us while catching a show in the area. upon arriving where told we had been upgraded from a standard double to superior triple. Fantastic we thought, although we where not expecting the Ritz we where disappointed with the room, the skirting where dusty, there was water staining from a leak in the bathroom, there where poorly filler holes in the walls and the room so small that the bathroom door hit the side of the bed and you had to squeeze through the gap left. The hotels own website describes the room as newly refurbished which it is not, air con, which unless you count the draft single glazed window is not present and basically furnished which was very much true as it was literally a double and single bed with no headboards, a small table and chair with a kettle and a tv on the wall. no side tables, no lamps, no other furnishing at all, so the only light switch you had was by the room door. This Hotel needs to be a bit more honest with its descriptions and although i can not speak for the rest of its rooms our room certainly did not match the description on the site. On the plus side the reception staff where very polite but that is the only positive i can think of.

Don't expect too much. The small hotel in heart of Kensington looks better from outside than an inside. And from the pictures. They are so much different than what you get in reality. I got a room in a basement, begging to be refurbish, with the old window (below the ground level) with large spaces between the glass, so the wind was easily going inside. It is easy to get tricked with the promo prices when you see different pics. The bathroom was tiny and dark, but clean. The receptionists very nice and helpful. The location was good, walking distance from the museums, close to the metro station.

The location was amazing, really close to the tube and the area was stunning to walk around. The rooms... Another story. They were dingy and small and looked somewhat dirty. They got the job done if you just wanted to sleep there and leave right away. Pricey for what it is. Would not recommend, there were other hotels along the street that looked more promising.

I booked Monday to Friday to attend a training week. Such a horrible experience. Smelly room in basement floor, sold as a better double when in reality I booked a single. On the 3rd day for my surprise and asked the key at the reception they didn't had it. I was informed that something was being restaured on my room. I had to pick documents for a meeting so I said I had to access my room. For my surprise when I got there everything my personal belongings have been moved. They were changing the carpet on the room. I had my clothes hanging covered in dust. The fruit I left on the room was all exposed for the thousand of bugs that was put on the air by the removal of the old carpet. I couldn't miss my meeting so I had to leave. His was unacceptable. No manager available during the rest of my stay. That night I had to stay on the room and I had cough throughout the night. Just what an invasion of privacy. Lack of respect. The only thing I was asked was "has anyone spoken with you" and "this was a miss communication". There was NO COMMUNICATION. Very disappointed want to do a formal complaint this is unacceptable. I would happily moved room even to a smaller one. No option was given this is very bad!!!

I stayed there the first week of Aug 2014. The room had no air as most of the hotel also. If you ask for a room with air, it will cost you 50 pounds more. The people were not helpful at all. Small bathrooms. They will give you a small fan if you yell enough. I would never stay there again... You might want to think about it also... The dining area was overcrowded, and the food was not what you would think. Oh, did I mention it was HOT really really HOT. It also had consturction going on. Forget trying to take a nap unless you are ok with hammer drills... If you have booked a double bed, forget it, you get two twins. Do not believe what the website or priceline says. Stay at the Holiday Inn right around the corner. It's worth the extra money, and they have air... Look at the photos of the front of the hotel, and notice the ones at the top. The windows are open for a reason...

From the warm welcome to the attentive staff to the clean room, I was very pleased with the hotel & my stay. The bed was comfortable, housecleaning every day. I was even a little late to check out as my flight from Paris that morning got in late, hotel staff did not charge me anything additional & were very accommodating. Several times I asked for directions at the front desk & was always given correct information. Great location in quite area, close to the underground and plenty of places to eat. I would definitely stay here again & would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice comfortable stay.

Comfortable smallish room with the hotel in a great area. Very pleasant staff. Wide choice of eateries within easy walking distance. Only concern, we couldn't get the cold water in the shower to work.

Stayed at this hotel 21st Jan 2014. Although only listed as a 3 star, it is certainly one of the better ones. I have stayed at much more expensive and much worse hotels. The room we booked was described as a Superior double room, but in fact had a double bed and a single bed. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the room and the general decor, fresh and clean. The staff were very helpful and courteous, although there did not seem to be many of them. The room itself was very clean and the sheets pristine and of good quality. The bed about average but certainly above the normal standard for this grade of hotel. The bathroom also was very clean and fittings of a high standard. It is too much to ask for a bidet at this price, indeed, many so called upper class hotels fall woefully short in this respect. A pity in my view as I consider this to be an essential part of any bathroom, sadly almost always lacking in this country. The only one point that detracted from a top score, is the fact that the blankets were a little grubby in places and smelled as if a good washing and airing would have made a world of difference.. I strongly suggest that the management sort this problem out. Otherwise a good score from me and as a bonus, the breakfast, although described as a Continental type, was in all respects excellent and provided a wide range of choices in Fruit , cereals , also cold ham and various cheeses and tomatoes and cucumber. Good hot coffee and tea, with both hot and cold milk. A really good combination for this type of breakfast and certainly plenty to eat.. Apart from the matter of the blankets then, an excellent choice of a hotel in a very pleasant and quiet part of London. Another bonus is that it is within easy reach of the Museums., and tube stations. I do not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone requiring a good quiet hotel in a good area. Cost ?? From £60 per night per room. EXCELLENT VALUE.

Bedsheets smelled like urine, asked for a clean set, but it turned out it was coming from the bed itself... Disgusting, so I slept on the floor instead. Compared to this the fact that the Wifi is so week, doesn't reach certain rooms and keeps dropping off, is a small thing. I would have never chosen this hotel myself, and can only advise to stay somewhere else, and pay that extra.
