Honestly I think the reviews here are a little unfair. Is this a luxury hotel? No, of course not. If they were charging hundreds per night I would certainly give it one star. But for the price which is often around 30-50 per night, to stay this centrally in London, it's 4 or 5 stars in my opinion. I live nearby and have recommended this to friends looking for a cheap stay before. The negatives: this specific street can sometimes be dodgy, however it's surrounded by a very nice area. And the street is still safe, it's not like this is an alleyway, so this is still fine in my opinion. I've also seen one time a friend stayed here and the carpet was a bit grubby and gross. So for those reasons I've deducted 1 star. But otherwise every room I've seen has been fine, dated but clean, and staff are all very helpful and polite. So for the price I will certainly keep recommending this to people. I would not say that it's family-friendly or good for working though. Lots of loud stag and hen do type groups seem to book here so it's more of a place to sleep but not hang out.

When you book a Travelodge you know you’re going to get a basic stay. This fell far below expectations. We stayed for 11 nights. If you don’t read the entire review, please book with Premier Inn. They are far superior. Positives: staff are mostly friendly, and the £10 breakfast is great and good value for central London. The location to Kings Cross is great. Rooms are warm. They did supply an extra blanket for me (after two days of asking and 3 visits to the lobby on the second day to remind them when their ‘I’ll be up in 10’ hadn’t passed 45 minutes later. However… there seems to be inconsistencies between staff communication. We were told they don’t have ‘Top Me Up’ hanger and to hang the ‘Do Not Disturb’ hanger if we wanted it cleaned. I questioned this, but they were adamant. So we hung up the ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign. Unsurprisingly our room was not serviced. I went downstairs to get towels, and when the person at reception asked why our room wasn’t cleaned, I told her what had happened and she pulled out the ‘Top Me Up’ hanger. And, serving the room seems to consist of taking most (but not all - never all) of the dirty towels and then giving you 2 towels and that’s it. Our toilet paper was never replaced, the bed was never made and the floor was never vacuumed (and wasn’t particularly clean to begin with. I went over the basic surfaces with an antibacterial wipe and it came away black and brown). Our sheets were also NEVER changed despite multiple requests and reassurances that if we are there longer than a week they’ll be changed (they weren’t). By the time we left, 2 mugs we had used had mould in them and were never cleared away! The clearing of the rubbish was also sporadic. Our room keys also deactivated multiple times throughout our visit, despite being nowhere near a phone. If you’re staying for a night or two, I’m sure it’s serviceable but anything longer isn’t worth the uncleanliness and poor communication and service.

The hotel was cold and dirty. Lots of dust and no soap in the shower. Very small room for the single beds - no room to move, sit, etc. Toilets at the bar were covered in sick on Friday night (not late). Very limited wifi access. Very noisy. Decent location, though.

The staff were friendly and helpful so full marks to them. It was a 7 minute walk from Kings Cross station and there are a few good bars and eating places in the area .However.....The carpet in the room should have been changed a long time ago. The bathroom fan wasn't working and there was mound on the wall and ceiling. The window didn't close properly. The TV. remote was worn and needed replacing. There is no air conditioning so this could be a problem in the summer. There is a big problem with the doors. To close them you have to apply pressure which causes them to bang so don't expect to sleep well. We were woken several times in the night by doors banging. We stayed for one night but it was long enough.

Great location, reception clean. My room seemed good value for the price. There were a few hairs in the bath and the shower wouldn't turn off. When I initially entered the room, it smelled strongly of shake n vac. When I returned in the evening, the fruity smell had gone and my room smelled of feet. As I was only staying for one night and I got back to my room late, I didn't make a fuss and opened the windows. I suppose You get you get what you pay for and will not return here.

Very close to King's Cross Station, approx 12 minutes walk, yet fairly quiet. Only the odd siren to disturb us. Breakfast was reasonable quality for the price, plus it was eat all you want if you like huge portions. Overall very good value and would stay again.

I have given a 2 star rating. 1 star for staff, 1 star for location. Sadly I can’t give anymore stars. The bed wasn’t cleaned when we arrived - multiple stains, marks and hair all over the bed. The bathroom wasn’t cleaned either (I think) as there was urine marks on the toilet. The hot water in the tap was also scolding hot water and extremely dangerous. The staff did partially fix the room - even though I stated it hadn’t been cleaned, I was just given new sheets for the bed. I’m not sure this is the correct response however the staff were all friendly. I just felt awkward asking for a new, cleaned room. Overall sadly I wouldn’t stay in this hotel again.

Awful hotel for the price. Despite the smart foyer , the long corridors to the rooms looked like a boarding school- dark, drab and very dated wood. The rooms looked tired. It only had one hand towel and one bath towel each. There was no soap by the wash basin. We had to ask for this. There were no glasses in the room. Facilities very basic and a long dark hair straggled across the bath. It took over 30 minutes to get our pizza in the ‘restaurant’. I would not use this hotel again. Poor value.

Upon arrival, we asked if we could just leave the bags until our check-in time at 3pm and the woman at the desk said the storage room was full. Made us pay £10 to check in early, even though the room was ready. Never experienced this at any hotel before. You also have to pay to access the wifi. What’s next, charging to use the towels? Check-in wasn’t very friendly. The cleaning and bar staff are lovely, though, and rooms were clean. Overall for the price and location in London, not bad for a quick stay.

Booked room for 1 night following a long haul flight. Didn't even stay an hour!!!! Was disappointed from moment we stepped out of lift. Corridor carpets worn and dirty. Room dated, looked shabby and smelt of smoke (even though it was a non smoking room). Didn't use bathroom as odour too offensive. Stains on bath and toilet. Would not recommend. 1 star is even too high.

The hotel is quite old and run down but it was clean and a nice sized room. Staff were lovely to deal with and super helpful. They let us drop our bags off early and kept them locked in a separate room only staff has access to. It's not a bad location, it's about a 10 minutes walk to king's cross station which has all the tubes, it has a bus stop almost right outside the hotel, as well as the Santander bicycles. It's close to a whole bunch of food places as well

People who run this place don't seem to believe in floor hygiene. The carpet looked like it hadn't been vacuumed forever. There was broken pieces of zippers , hair and a green candy left on the floor near my bed. The vanity in the bathroom had hairs left on it and my bedsheet had black fuzz on it. I don't know what's going on with the hygiene situation here but this is the second dirtiest places I have stayed. I hope it can be improved soon. The front desk was polite and helpful. The breakfast was good. Location was good too.. Just too dirty..

Booked a twin room for a Thursday night stay. The desk staff were excellent, very informative and helpful. The location, a few minutes walk from Kings Cross station, was good especially given the room was only £45 when I booked whereas comparable hotels were double that. The room itself - and particularly the bathroom - was small and felt like it could use some updating, but it was clean and the beds were comfortable which is the main thing for me. For the price, I would use again.

I had some drinks with others at the Travelodge in King's Cross tonight. The majority of the staff were excellent, these were the young ladies behind the bar. I went into the bar with others who are regulars and it was quite clear that we weren't guests. We met lovely customers staying there. I didn't drink that much but inadvertently missed my train to my town outside London due to network problems. Therefore I thought it would be a good idea to drink at the hotel bar. I had quite clearly told everyone my situation. The staff stated that the bar was open until late which I was happy with. We put a lot of money behind the bar. I would also like to include that I have a disability. Everything was fine until a tall young 'manager' in a dark blue shirt started being Overbearing. I politely asked to use the toilets and was told by him that as I was not a paying guest I was not able to do so. I didn't make a fuss and talked to and drank with a lovely Welsh couple and a Northern Irish lady whom I had made friends with. Nothing more was said. However about 30 minutes later before the closing time the same inexperienced manager started to shout quite publicly that as I was not a guest I would have to leave. Then unusually he had some work to do processing late arrivals so he then left me alone. I stayed without making a fuss but later he was again extremely Overbearing and in my opinion took a bullying tone (abuse of power) and said you will have to take a paper cup in spite of me spending a lot of money and leave otherwise he would call security. This was however was at 10 to 4 so why did he let me spend all that money and not get rid of me earlier??? I left without any fuss. I think this hotel and bar has the potential to be very good but you need to look at your manager's behaviour, he is clearly inexperienced, has been promoted beyond his ability and exhibits a bullying attitude. The guy looks about 16. He needs to graduate from school first before he thinks he can manage a hotel and leave the job for the adults to do.

Chose the Royal Scot as it was near to St. Pancras / Kings Cross station. First impressions as l booked in, how friendly the staff were l felt welcome. My room was clean, tidy, bright all really that l needed for my short break. I got there late so made a cuppa had a shower and got into bed. Six hours later l was awake and refreshed. l made a note to find out where they sourced their pillows, best kip in ages. I booked the full English and wasn't disappointed good grub, self service and plenty of it. Sadly the Capital is looking rather run down at present trash everywhere outside the Royal Scot was no exception. Inside the Royal Scot a little oasis of calm exists. Well recommended.

The hotel itself was very clean. The check-in was not particularly warm but it was efficient. The lobby and bar/restaurant looked lovely but we didn't stick around long enough to find out. We ended up booking elsewhere and checked out immediately due to the room being overly hot. We had been issued a street-facing room with a large window where the curtains had been left open, allowing the sun to beat in all day ahead of our arrival. Because there is no air conditioning, the windows were left (understandably) open. However, this hotel is located on a busy street. We could have closed the windows to mitigate the noise but would have lost all air circulation in a stifling hot room. Or, we could have left the windows open, blasted the table-top fan and not been able to sleep due to the street noise. Reception staff were very professional upon check-out.

Good location but this hotel is very dated. Had to keep the window propped open with the bathroom bin just to get fresh air. No Aircon and the TV remote didn't work. If you're looking for a budget room just to crash for the night near kings cross, this is for you. Otherwise spend a little bit more and go elsewhere.

Overall, I had a wonderful stay - the room was comfortable, the staff were friendly and accommodating (most especially Dianne Sale & Mr. Bartender, sorry forgot your name). I particularly enjoyed the breakfast - there was a great selection of food, and everything was fresh and tasty. It was a great way to start each day of my stay. The only thing I would suggest improving is the toilet in my room. While it was functional, it seemed a bit outdated and could benefit from an upgrade. Despite this minor issue, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at your hotel and would definitely recommend it to others. Thank you for providing such a pleasant and comfortable experience.

Quaint, clean room at a reasonable price and got a decent two nights sleep. Staff were very friendly. Booked a late checkout but after midday the card deactivated (they said it was normal procedure), so I went to reception to get it fixed, so something to be mindful of if you book a late checkout. Apart from that, it did the job and I had nothing really to complain about.

Strange room. Window very high up. Curtain broken, we had to climb on the desk to close it. Foaming handwash in the shower instead of shower gel. Curtain hung over edge of shower base so bathroom got very wet. Bathroom needed a really good clean. Really not worth what we paid. Reception staff nice when we checked in.

We stayed a couple nights this weekend to be near everything. The hotel is conveniently located to the tube and all the hot spots. Walking distance to lots of fun places and things to do. The hotel needs some definite renovation. Especially AC.The breakfast was nice. They had cold water with lemon and mint every day available which was nice since it's been hot. Doris was amazing. She welcomed us day one and helped us store our luggage. On our last day, she called a cab for us and even helped us get our things in the taxi. Good place for the money.

I have just returned from one night stay at this hotel. Stupidly I did not read the reviews before I booked. But I was higher stayed in many travel lodges across the country I didn’t think there would be an issue. We booked a double room for my self my partner and we have a young child. They did upgrade us to a family room at no extra charge when we got to the hotel and the staff did seem very accommodating and friendly. There is parking on site with plenty of spaces and it is very reasonably priced. But the downside is far outweighed the good. The hotel is very rundown and in need of repair. Walking through the corridors all the doors and woodwork is scratched and marked and the carpets are worn and threadbare so it doesn’t give a very inviting impression of what your room is going to be like. The rooms were very basic that is not a problem you get what you pay for however the rooms were dirty and scruffy, carpets were worn stained and marked, the bathroom was tiny and still has a shower curtain which is extremely unhygienic. The mirrors in class were all marked and dirty, there are two windows in our room both side of use of brick walls. The location isn’t even that great to be fair to central London as it’s right on a one-way system, plenty of better places to stay closer to the centre

We arrived having travel Nealy 24 hours, so just needed to sleep. The room was grubby as was the bathroom, the room and bathroom need a serious make over. Worn and shabby, taps in the bathroom were faulty and were difficult to turn off. The room was very warm and check out was 12 o'clock, the room cleaners were knocking on our door at 11am even though we had the do not disturb sign hanging on the door outside. Not what you need after a long haul trip. The location was good and for London the price we paid was good. On a plus note the reception staff were very nice and the bed was excellent.

Really good for the money, the building itself isn't fancy but the room was very clean, the beds were comfortable and pillows unusually awesome for a hotel. We paid a ridiculously low rate for a Saturday night stay in London and I really couldn't be happier with the service provided. The lady who checked us in was also very friendly and informative.

I have now been here for 2 different business trips. This hotel would basically only get 1 star from me. It deserves the second thanks to its friendly staff at breakfast. Why 1 star? The furnishings of the hotel and the rooms are probably from the 1980s. Cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired (stains on the bedding, hair (plural) in the shower and dust is also part of the room. If the room faces the inner courtyard, you will be bombarded with noise 24 hours a day - presumably from the air conditioning or the laundry. What no one cares about during the day robs you of sleep at night. The room itself is at a "pleasant" 17-18°C. The electric heating is set to a maximum of 18°C at the beginning of February. Quote from the staff "Unfortunately we can't change that. For the good of the environment.". In addition, the part beeps so unbearably loud.... Wonderful. So let's summarize: Not exactly clean + very poor sleep due to noise + freezing cold = 1 star. P.s.: The walls are made of paper and you can hear the neighbor's electric toothbrush 2 rooms away.....

From the warm welcome to the impeccably clean room and excellent service, my stay at the hotel was outstanding. Convenient location, delicious dining, and top-notch amenities. A perfect weekend getaway! Highly recommended! I honestly don't understand the bad reviews regarding the place, everything looks quite new

Location Amazing only a 10 minute walk to kings cross. Clean room. Although window did let through cold a bit but okay in general. Most of staff was polite however some where more concerned about some lipstick and others just didn't care. Could do with more gluten free options for breakfast that aren't plane and dry corn flakes. If you stay in room 522 look out for some Easter chickens we did to celebrate Easter!

The only negative thing to say is our room was not very clean, apart from this we enjoyed our stay very much! The staff have been brilliant, polite, friendly and efficient. Breakfast with MYLES was lovely, good selection of foods and staff were very attentive. Thank you all for hard work 😊 have a blessed 2024!

This hotel is good. My room was clean, great shower etc. The only downfall was that the service was not as polished as it could be. Lovely staff but the receptionist could have retained her composure when she had a challenging customer. But it was good. I’ll be back!

Second time staying here on my trip to London and both times been 5 star. The location is a ten minute walk from Kings Cross station which is very handy. The rooms are clean, beds comfy, room nice and warm, bathroom clean, and shower powerful and hot. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Perfect stay, would recommend.

I've only ever stayed at a premier inn and I'm glad I have. This is amazing for a cheap, short stay though. Don't get me wrong, this is not a bad place just it was questionable. Firstly, upon arrival, the staff members allowed a huge crowd of people to stand in the middle of the check-in area (they weren't checking in, they were just standing there chatting) without even telling people to come to them because they were open. Once we went around them as some other *customers* mentioned it to us, we were questioned about our booking. We showed and told necessary info and the lady didn't even welcome us or anything. (no hello even) My brother recently turned 18 and she asked to call our bloody mother! We agreed and she spoke to the mum with a big smile on her face and bubbly attitude (she had a nice attitude don't worry just more if yk what I mean) asking if she was and I quote "aware that he was staying at a hotel" and that it was with me. I understand it might've been protocol and she was just doing her job but he's 18 so he can do whatever the hell he likes booking hotels and it's none of your business to question why. Other than that strange thing, she was nice. (As nice as someone who didn't really talk to you much, say hello/bye or left the room at one point because of another staff member mentioning something when all was left was our key card.) I don't blame her for anything because she was a good person, you just can't really say much nice things over bad when they didn't show it enough! When we got to the room, it was a bit small and the carpet looked dirty but it was nice. There was a kettle, tea and coffee sachets, milk and sugar left for us, towels (one had a bit of a yellowed colour to it, which was meant to be white but the others looked really clean and were folded beautifully) and amazingly made beds. I'm a bit confused on why they made the wall lamps attached to the bed's wall behind the pillows because it's a pain on the eyes and sleeping position as it's limited or hurts! Above the window-side bed was so many leak-patch bubbles in the ceiling paint that had been there prior and one was slightly slit and opened, ew! The bathroom was tiny but nice. The bath was a decent size but there was black spots in the corner, the drain had black stuff too, the toilet flushing button pushes in too far and the edges are sharp so it hurts you, the soap is advertised as foam soap yet it's watery and shoots onto the tabletop or in the sink and the vent ducts on the door are dusty. (Single wipe would clean) The hotel is good other than those few problems so don't think it's all bad because it was a short stay so you focus on those bad parts but it is really amazing for the price and result.

My stay at the Travelodge Hotel was a complete disaster, and I strongly advise against staying there. Not only were my personal items stolen from the room, but the hotel staff and customer service team have done nothing to address the issue or offer compensation. It’s an appalling lack of accountability and customer care. Save yourself the trouble and choose a different hotel that values guest security and satisfaction.

reasonable to the price, Didn’t set high expectations. Good room size, no daily cleaning or changing for bed sheets. No landline in the room. General good ventilation, heating system. More importantly very good location

We booked two rooms twice at either end of a trip to France. Great service, good sized well equipped rooms and good food. We left a very much loved cuddly toy behind and this was returned, special delivery, free of charge by a great man named Simon. Highly recommended

Staff were nice enough at check-in. The reception and restaurant/bar seemed well decorated. The rooms, however, needed some serious TLC. Not awful, but just tired, peeling paint, faded carpet, clear signs of previous electrical fittings and redundant switches etc. The bathroom was clean enough, though the shower didn't work properly. It would cycle repeatedly between hot and lukewarm every couple of seconds. Useable, but not fantastic as someone who enjoys a hot shower. Room facilities were largely sufficient, though more tea would've been appreciated. The TV didn't work however. No matter what channel we tried, there was no picture and intermittent sound. The TV was displaying a UI however, so this was a problem with the receiving infrastructure not the TV itself. Traffic noise was somewhat loud outside, but we both slept fine. Fortunately it was a cool night, as I'd imagine having the windows open would make it significantly worse. Breakfast was okay. The selection was reasonable, but the quality could be improved. The bacon for example was overcooked and rather dry, and the juice was strange. Other guests had trouble with the toasters burning croissants, which irritated the staff who got upset with them. Probably not worth the cost though, better to walk the 10 minutes to McDonald's. On the subject of walking, the location was convenient for Kings Cross. In summary, the hotel is a convenient location with mostly friendly staff, but needs a fair bit of maintenance and a better food offering.

I stayed here earlier this month. The only positive point I can make is that the location is fantastic and that is its only redeeming factor. Once we arrived we saw how filthy it was. There was dirt on the bathtub and bathroom door. The wi fi is only free for 30mins!!! In this day and age how is this allowed? The mugs and spoon they provide in the room was filthy also! In the week that we stayed there the room was not cleaned once! We had to empty the bins and place them outside the door for it to be removed. We were given clean towels once during the week along stay and it was only 2 out of the 4 towels that was replaced! The hired the cleaners for decoration I guess. A keycard is needed to go to the elevators and that only worked the first night. We always had to go the reception for them to “fix” it only for the issue to happen again the next evening. No explanation and certainly no apologies. It’s the Travel Lodge so we were not expecting magical and simply the basic functions to work would have made us happy and I guess that was too much to ask at this branch.

I have been to the hotel before covid. Now after renovation it looks in excellent shape. Especially the bar and dining area looks so warm and well decorated. Rooms are better as well with new furniture included. I recommend this hotel as it is near kings cross and st pancras stations and with a short walk you can be in oxford street.

We spent 4 days in London as my 81-year-old mother wanted to go back to London once more attractive (Brexit, COVID, time to get a passeport postponed it). The hotel we used to go was closed due to refurbished works. Her requirements were a hotel with ensuite facilities, a kettle, full english breakfast and close to St Pancras International (bus stations nearby too). We had a pleasant time there. We were able to check-in earlier/out later for a small costume (cheaper than leaving our suitcases at luggage storage). Breakfast is good (eat as much as you can), we once had dinner (chicken tikka massala + cider) and we were happy with our dish. People working there are very pleasant, smiling (special mention to Jacquie who also speaks French). If you want to have your room refreshed (towels, bins, tea/coffee), it is necessary to do it before 11am at the reception desk. The only inconvenient was the noise from outside (no double-glazing for our room). Anyway many thanks for our enjoyable stay.

I stayed for 4 nights in the hotel. The room was nice until there was a LEAK in the room at midnight ! Water was dripping on the heater. I went to the reception and they told me I had to change rooms. I was moved to a smaller room with no soap in it. No apologies or commercial gesture was offered. In the hurry of packing, I left a pair of trousers. The trousers were stolen and when I asked the day after the staff about it, they did not find any explanation. Some members of the staff were nice but not helpful when really needed. Another problem we had was that our card was not working. We had to go to the reception every day to change cards.

  • 1/5 Manuela R. 2 months ago on Google New
We had to ask to get the room cleaned and they never changed the sheets despite 6 days having passed (they change them after 6 days). The key cards stopped working every day even when stored in a separate pocket away from other cards and electronics. When the room was finally cleaned, they did not replace the trash bin. Staff was friendly, though.

    1. Paid for early check in. Room was delayed an hour. Once given key, someone was in our room. Beds had wet brown stains and hairballs and used towels in the room. Front desk agreed to change our room and provided one free breakfast. 2. Had dinner in the hotel restaurant, not realizing we would be served overpriced frozen microwave dinners. Couldn't have more than 2 bites. 3. The next day after being out we came back to find a pipe had burst, flooding our room and destroying all of our personal belongings, luggage, clothes and electronics.  Ignored for an hour until we started begging for answers on our next move, at which point the manager said his first words to me which were "calm down". No help offered to remove or dry our belongings, no remorse or compensation provided. Offered a free microwaved dinner or another dirty room (told there was no housekeeping in) but since all of our clothes and belongings were soaked in sewage water, we had no choice but to leave. NO REFUND PROVIDED. Told we had to call central customer service ourselves, but they were closed for the holiday weekend. Holiday ruined and now out money on the room, plus extra costs to replace our belongings and to get a taxi to find some place to do laundry and stay. 4. Need to pay for wifi. Rooms only cleaned every 6 days. Garbages not changed, no fresh towels or linens. Carpets maybe never vacuumed. 5. The only positive was an AMAZING front desk woman named Vickie who was the ONLY person who showed any remorse and offer to help, while her manager ignored us. She is an angel and deserves a raise and promotion!

Stayed in room 693. It was very, very, very noisy. There's no way you can get a decent night's sleep. The furnishings in the room are so old it looks dirty. There's no way it's had a deep clean through covid. The bathroom looked so old and tired I felt like I came out dirtier than I went in. The water didn't flow out of the sink properly and you need to flush the toilet around 5 times before it works. This room is not fit for paying guests.

It was disappointing staying at Travelodge London Kings Cross Royal Scot. I was expecting a fresh, practical, CLEAN and reasonable decorated room. Nothing like that. A good point of the room was a good size place in general. Apart of that the rest was scoring low. Smelly bathroom, dirty bed line, deteriorating furniture, badly finished, dusty number 346 room indeed. The staff as lovely people but who run the business should consider start investing in the place.

Stayed here this weekend with my family for our well deserved holiday... wish we stayed somewhere else. Dirty rooms, beds had hairs in them, bath was dirty, the shower was either hot or freezing. We had brick walls as our view of London. Beds were awful. Windows didn't open, carpet was growing new life. Tiles in bathroom broken and badly fixed with poly filler. Pillows we're wet... Not a nice experience at all, it looks like the place had been given up on and the staff don't have love or pride in the place anymore. Paid for breakfast for each day, it was only recorded as one day. Will not be recommending to any one sorry.

Adequate, served our requirements. Mattress quite soft but slept ok. Breakfast also adequate but missed having a fried egg option. Will rebook when staying on London in the future

One night stay, receptionist on check in yesterday was more interested in her phone than the guests, just threw me my key card with room number after confirming my name, no welcome or direction at all, Rooms are poorly maintained, shower curtain rail more rust than rail, so much so the curtain and bathtub had rust stains on them, dirty spare pillow and McDonald’s wrappers on the cupboard, stayed in room 448 -avoid at all costs!!! Worst Travelodge I’ve stayed in so far, couldn’t sleep as the head of the bed is against the wall of the room door which meant I could hear everything from the other side, door did not fit to the frame which meant my room was lit up all evening

Staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast is good value for money. The hotel is a few mins walk from King's Cross Station. The lifts may be new and shiny, but the rooms are getting tired and shabby. We had mismatched wall lights, only 2 of which had working bulbs, and there are no charging sockets on the same wall as the bed. The bathroom had peeling paint, and big patches of lumpy sealant covering previous leaks. The sink drained really slowly, and the toilet roll holder was loose. The windows only open a couple of inches, and the room was boiling. Reception had plenty of fans for rooms, but it was still hot and stuffy and difficult to sleep at night. There was a do not disturb hanger for the door - which we didn't use, and our rooms were not touched during our stay. There was no door hanger to request that the room be cleaned. We could have done with our bin emptying, and clean cups. The bed was comfy, and the room was clean and tidy when we first arrived. It's not a bad hotel, but they could make it better.

Great position (just about 7 minutes walking to the subway). The room was small but clean, nice and illuminated (it’s perfect if your project is visiting London and go back to the hotel just to have a shower and get some rest). We had breakfast just once, but it was really good 👍🏻 The staff is really kind and they try to fulfill your requests. If I have to find a flaw, you have to ask for clean towels everyday, if you need them. Overall, my stay here met my needs.

3 night stay here was ok id love to give more stars but the room really needed some updating. We only used the hotel for sleeping and shower. Bed was nice but room was dusty. Breakfast had great choice and adequate taste but the staff were lovely here. All communal areas were spotless

I traveled here with work the room was very over priced. The windows of the room was so dirty and looked like they had never been cleaned. There was hair on the floor and walls of my bathroom. The door to the room was so ill fitted at night when my lights was turned off. You could be mistaken that a spaceship had landed in the corridor as that much light came through the gaps. Discounted drinks between 5 -7 nearly made up for it. All in all the hotel needs a total revamp. It is not somewhere I'd stay again.

Other than the location (which is good) everything about the place is average. Great location is balanced out my a massive maze of coridoors and very old and tired rooms with peeling paint and funky carpets. Beds are new so I guess that's what's important. Despite me giving this a 3 star review I keep coming back because it's literally what I want in London. It is a bang average hotel that you don't really want to spend much time in, for a decent price and good location.

I stayed for a couple of nights with my wife for her birthday The staff are fantastic really helpful and happy. The down side was the first night I hardly slept to some motor running all night, shouting in the car park and a lot of banging around. The following day we got moved to a quieter part of the hotel then had good sleep rooms a bit worn and out of date and breakfast was not great for the price not worth it go to cafe down road

Stayed for one night. Obviously aware this is a budget hotel and rated accordingly. Location convenient and close to King's Cross station. Check in fine and reception staff were friendly and efficient. Room was very tired with carpet faded and appeared light damaged. No desk or chair, just bed and small unit near TV. Bathroom equally aged and shower gel dispenser near shower not working. Breakfast was basic and bland. Stayed in several Travel Lodges before and never had a problem and enjoyed stays. However, will not revisit this location.

I have to say the staff were really very good. Including when getting abused by a very drunken and aggressive woman. The location is fine, part of the reason I picked it. The room let's it down though, it was fairly low price but I would still expect better especially from a chain. Bathroom had a dirty feel I don't think it was, it was just very poorly maintained. The carpet was threadbare and looked dirty. Layout is also odd, the switch for the lamp was unusable whilst lying in bed!

Make sure to use HotelTully.ᴄᴏm when booking a stay. This web site will compare countless booking websites and normally will have prices much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This hotel is one of the most well known in this area. I have been coming here for a very long time. If you decide to stay here you will love it I'm sure! This hotel has a great location, close to Kings Cross. I have stayed here many times now, when I come to London for a few days and always find it warm, clean and comfortable. I especially like the fact that the bathrooms have a bath, as well as a shower, which is a bonus in a hotel these days. Reception staff are always helpful and the breakfast is good. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Staff were not trained adequately. It took 15 minutes to get a refund on some pink chicken wings.between 3 of them they couldn’t figure out how to work the till. The food is substandard and over priced. They struggled with taking simple orders. The rooms are as you can expect cheap and nasty. Stayed a few nights and my room was never cleaned. It’s not my responsibility to ensure the staff do their job. Zero parking within 10 minutes walk. Pretty abysmal review what a shame. I was in London for work and it was a really bad experience noisy, smelly, unpleasant and unprofessional staff on the desk.on my initial arrival the lady young lady behind the reception had a bad attitude and seemed upset she was working on a weekend. Cleanliness 4/10 Professionalism 0/10 Food 0/10 Location 6/10 Bathrooms Are tiny. Showers don’t have adequate pressure or are even set at a decent heat, the bedrooms are just standard mine stank and was very noisy plus you need prescription glasses to see the tiny tv that only works with two channels.

For £123/night this standard is a completely rip off. Its the worst travel lodge ever. Rooms were so dirty like never been cleaned. Shower dispenser broken. Windows broken. When I took a shower the shower itself broke and had to change room. The new room carpet was even in worse condition, the window didn't shut properly and the bathroom door was broken from the bottom part. If I could I would give negative star. The front picture is deceiving it's an extremely run down building I've uploaded pictures. Absolute disgrace

The location is fantastic. Breakfast is really good. The staff is ok. I had forgotten how extremely tiny the beds are. I almost fell during my sleep. The towels smell weird. The toilet is tiny as well, very uncomfortable. Of course it's very cheap so... It'd stay there again, it's London!

Stayed for two nights 30th June and 1st July. Lovely helpful reception staff, our room was large, nice clean bedding and towels. Breakfast was a little disappointing for £11.50, I like a continental breakfast, was disapointed that there weren't any bowls of fresh fruit, so rather expensive for a bowl of cereal, a yoghurt and two rounds of toast. The bar staff were lovely, and the cafe style eating area was fine. There was a group of young people sat in the bar/cafe area on the Saturday afternoon, the language was terrible, the Manager didn't tell them to calm down and mind their language, that was rather off putting... The snack menu was adequate. All in all a good stay.

Total dump! It’s mid-renovation and stinks of paint. The building is tired, shabby and run down with hideous old dark wood furniture and fittings, all desperately in need of replacement. The carpets etc are worn out and stained, it’s generally filthy. The walls are paper thin so impossible to sleep with the noise coming from adjacent room. Complained to receptionist who did speak to neighbours but it made no difference and I wasn’t offered an alternative room, despite asking for one. Windows overlook other rooms, no privacy glass so curtains need to be closed at all times. Pillows are hard and lumpy and the duvet is thin and ineffective. The location isn’t that close to King’s Cross, a good 10+ minute walk. Overall, very expensive and not worth the money, especially if you get zero sleep!

The room is smaller compared to other places. Apart from it, The location is perfect, just walking distance to Kings Cross station, lots of restaurants of all kinds and grocery stores nearby. Service is above my expectation. We arrived early around 10:45 and we were served by Jacquie who was so lovely, treated us professionally and addressed all our concerns kindly and patiently. Hence overall, we had a great stay here.

The rooms are very clean and what you would expect to find in a Travelodge. Air conditioning would be helpful as the rooms get rather hot. The service from reception and especially the bar staff is excellent 👌 you are really made welcome and people are very friendly. Plus they make a fabulous espresso martini 🍸

My husband and I stayed here for 3 days. We booked a king room, unfortunately they had us in a double bed. It happens, especially in the busy season. I tried to get an extra pillow for my back, it was very difficult to get one due to the cleaning room being locked whenever we came back from our adventures. Just keep that in mind. We didn't add breakfast on, but it did look delicious! We always just decided to go out for breakfast. The staff was mostly friendly. They always did what they could to accommodate us, and also we are able to check our bags if needed.
