One of my favourite places in SW London. Absolutely amazing, strong coffee, huge selection of cakes with vegan options. Pastry, sandwiches etc. moat of the time I have to wait for the coffee longer time as place is busy but it does worth it

Great coffee and food. Gluten free cakes are delicious (the photo is of GF chocolate orange cake). Dairy free options for coffee are also available. It's normally quiet inside so you don't have to shout to have a conversation!

Clapham is a risky place for a coffee house. Every few weeks witnesses the opening of a new third wave coffee shop. But Black Lab had been around for sometime. It is still my favourite coffee house in Clapham, possibly one of the best in London. The coffees are always excellent and the baristas are fantastic. They deserve a special praise here. The cafe is very cosy too. The only drawback recently has been the quality of the Pain Au Chocolat. It's very dry and not particularly french or tasty. But I love their coffee so I will still be here everyday.

A popular 'go to' for many living in the locale. I, quite shamefully, have a latte every single time because theirs is the perfect balance of high quality coffee, which is not too bitter, and that creamy milky taste. There are many great options in the Clapham Common area but The Black Lab is my place is choice for a caffeine hit! The smoothies and oversized pastries look super appealing when at the counter, and having tried a few of them, they are also well worth a try. Unfortunately, due to its success, at peak times it can be very busy and space is limited, so we usually just grab a coffee to go!

This is one of my favourite coffee spots in Clapham Common! I've not had a chance to eat inside yet but this weekend I had lunch in their small area outside the front. I had the vegan toastie (hummus, avocado, sun blushed tomatoes and basil) which was so good! The sourdough was lovely and crunchy, and the flavours worked really well together, especially the tomato. But unfortunately it was the only vegan thing on their lunch menu. I was really happy to see that inside they had a good selection of vegan cakes and doughnuts (i think there were 4 to choose from), but I would really like to see another vegan lunch dish. That's why the review is 4 stars, rather than 5.

Popped in for a cheeky post brunch coffee and had a lovely little chat with the Barista. The decor and desserts looked amazing, and genuinely the coffee was delicious. (Yummy fruity notes). Can’t wait to stop back to have brunch here.

Fantastic coffee, indie owned with a lovely staff; we stayed till close and they really looked after us and made us feel welcome (even though they were closing up!). Great location by the tube on Clapham High Street too. Definitely worth a visit, take out or not!

I can’t deny that this is the best coffee in Clapham. I love the shop, food options and the fact that it’s dog friendly! However, I’m always super wary when the coffee shop looks busy as often the service can be very slow. Often waiting so long for a single coffee, I leave feeling frustrated. Would highly recommend for your caffeine fix, give it a try.

Stayed a few hours here. Brilliant coffee, awesome baristas, had my good fix of wifi here and just loved the general feeling. Bought one bag of coffee here for at home and the barista really talked me through to be able to get a good one for what I needed.

I popped in today for some lunch. I only chose it as it was next to my bus stop and there was a long wait for my bus. Alex and his colleague were both very nice and welcoming. I had the Spanish Expat which was the tastiest sandwich I’ve had in some time. The cakes all looked delicious and I’m definitely going back to try them out.

Best hot chocolate and coffee in Clapham Common. Always wonderful and kindest staff, you decide your own salad, free wifi, good music, dogs are always welcome - the name is Black Lab (labrador).

Honestly really like this coffee shop. Coffee is strong and yummy and the cakes are standard but the staff are just so lovely. Sat in for a while today and we all had a laugh together. Wish I'd got their names but it was a New Zealander with blue hair and a (manager?) with orange hair who was talking about drag. Both super lovely. Will come again. β˜ΊοΈπŸ’–

Really nice cafe, lovely atmosphere/great music, and the sandwich I had [CaliClub?] was delicious. Only four stars because I didn't love the iced latte I had, it was very foamy on top and tasted a bit weak- I still drank it though!

I was treated awfully from the moment I came in from the white owner of this business. After only been there for 10min and having bought an item I sat down and was told you only have 1 hour then either buy or leave may I add I was the only person of colour he approached I've never experienced such blatant racism everyone else was white in the restaurant he said nothing to them. I will never come to this horrid establishment again why would you treat a paying customer like that am so disgusted by him I will report this
