We saw a very good Sunday afternoon jam session. Good mix of accomplished musicians. Comfortable lounge, very nice MC / door person (I think the sessions are run by a jazz club rather than the bar). Recommended.

The perfect place for delicious food, an excellent range of drinks and speedy, courteous service. We’ve eaten here a number of times at different times and days of the week. The food and drink is consistently good. The pub is ideally located for pre-theatre food and drinks, especially if you’re a fan of Harry Potter. Highly recommended. We suggest you book a table at busy times and days of the week to avoid disappointment.

A delightful experience, I will definitely come again when I visit London. I came here because I read about a comedy night at this place, it exceeded my expectations, the comedians were top notch, the beers were good, and the venue (at the basement) was small but cozy. The comedians had fun, and the audience too, there was a lot of interaction between everyone there. I forgot to mention, entrance was free for comedy night, at the end of the show you'd pay whatever you feel like. To summarize, I came for comedy night (alone) and had an amazing time, can definitely recommend.

A London institution, we keep returning during every trip to London to have a pint and dine at this wonderful pub. The Aspall on draught is superb! If you're lucky enough to visit on a Sunday, try their Roasts! We especially enjoy the Nut Roast. Some evenings get crazy busy, but this pub is worth the journey.

Nice pub/bar, in soho 🇬🇧 They have a great variety of drinks, the bar itself is nice and has a good vibe sometimes with live music + there are tables to sit outside.

I used to come here when I lived in London about 15-17 years ago. Was lovely to be back in the country and able to return. Still has a wonder atmosphere, and my drink was delicious.

Came here with my wife and a friend on Sunday recently. Haven't been here for years (played here at a wake if I remember correctly). Beer in excellent condition. Great live music on Sunday afternoon with guests playing with the house band over the course of the afternoon. Might take a guitar along and join in next time!😁

The Spice of Life is one of my go to pubs in Soho. I meet friends there for an excellent pub lunch and a pint and drop in in the evening when en route elsewhere, perhaps a gig or the theatre. It can be noisy in the evening but a good atmosphere. It's reasonably priced, too. There's a basement venue for live music which I go to once or twice a month. All in all The Spice is a nice, convenient and safe Soho pub.

Nice vibes and very comfy pub right next to the Harry Potter theatre! Went on a Wednesday evening so it was quiet, which was nice as we just wanted to have some food. We enjoyed a burger offer with chips and a drink for 12.95 (or something similar). Everything was very good :)

Attended the pub quiz recently which was fun. Didn't order any food and just got drinks as you do. Drinks were a reasonable price and there's a really good vibe. I imagine it's even better on the weekend. Although there were a lot of people, there were plenty of bar staff and I didn't have to wait long to get a drink. Had a comedy night as well which was enjoyable.

We went with my wife on Monday evening, there was live music and we had a great time. This is our new favorite place. The only problem is that it is very small inside and I could not find a table to eat, but I do not recommend it to everyone because if you come too, there will be no room for us😁🥳

We ordered a pint and whisky and coke. One sip to the pint, back on the table and a few seconds later the whole glasses shattered! The whole pint spilled on the table, on my trousers and shirt. We asked to speak to the manager and a guy came, apologised and didn't do anything else. He said that we should contact the manager by email!! Didn't even offer a complimentary drink or a towel. Service 0!

We came here on a Saturday afternoon to listen to some big band music. 'Laughter with a Swing' featuring Aiden Kent was very good. Small intimate venue with a small bar. Starts 1:30 p.m once a month.

Really liked this good old pub! Very comfortable atmosphere for 2 middle-agers! We had some decent food for a decent price. The downstairs bar was great - upstairs busier and more noisy. Live music was scheduled downstairs at 7pm so we needed to leave after eating (we'd been told this when we arrived and still had plenty of time to relax and eat - going to theatre in any case) Recommend

Stopped for a few beers before a dinner. Must be a busy place for locals as it was packed with people with English accent. Very affordable despite its location.

Popped in before the theatre. No table booked & boy was it busy! The waitress very kindly offered us a table that was reserved from 6.30 but we had to leave for the show by then at the latest. Food promptly served. Very fresh & tasty. Reasonable prices. Great wine.

Good place and the drink prices were reasonable. I had a frozen margarita which was yummy. I loved the artists at the open mic night. Only issue is you need to go downstairs to the toilets and the ladies one is just passed the stage where the performing acts are so isn’t really a good place for it to be situated.

Love this pub, perfect location and great parties. Only reason is not a 5 Stars is that they should promote more that is also a live venue and there's live music downstairs. It's a shame finding people drinking upstairs, super crowded, that they are not even aware there's live bands playing downstairs and banda playing for small audience. Support live music and local bands! If you come, check if there's a live show, cause they are extremely fun!

Very fun place to hang out before our show. We took our kids in for a meal and were able to find a table. All the staff were super friendly to us tourists and answered all our questions. My steak and ale pie was delicious. My wife had the salmon which was also very good! Small location with limited seating and very boisterous (it is a pub) but had a great time here.

I can't even count how many times I've walked by this place and brushed it off as touristy. It couldn't be more centrally located in a spot that screams rip me off. I'm happy to say that after being taken here by colleagues (out of sheer laziness), I couldn't be more wrong. Prices are standard for the area, and while that isn't cheap they certainly weren't expensive. I had a fairly typical pub meal that I found tasty and worth decent value. Overall, as a spot that's on one of the main roads of London's West End, it could've been way worse in quality and price. I may even go again!

A drink and a meal before a show, enjoyed a steak pie, it was deeeep and packed with tender steak!

I went there with my workmates at lunchtime. We were in 14 people. The music was very loud and one of my colleagues ask politely if they could turn it down a little bit, they refuse saying they hadn't control of each speaker. But because it was so disturbing to talk for all of us, and I had already a headache I tried again explaining the situation. The manager was very rude saying even I could go to the outside tables and that the music was for the other tables as well (there were 4 tables more max).. It is incredible that when a customer asks something like that, so easy to get, they don't do anything to help even make it worse with their rudeness.

A firm favourite in this part of town, in the thick of it. Beer and burger a great deal, quality is not compromised for the price. Friendly service. House white recommended. Clean loos, very important.

Great venue with live music and amazing atmosphere. Been here a few times and it's such a great vibe downstairs where the live music is that keeps me coming back. The band is very talented and makes you feel you are at a concert. Me and my friends had a great time on Monday evening and we will definitely come back to start the week like this.
