I found @hostcoffee on the maps and was determined to visit during my London trip! I love the church setting and the tranquility. Most people were working, studying, or reading. Some business people were getting their morning coffee and chat in but not disturbing at all. It was such a pleasant meal I would go there all the time if I’m located in London!

Wonderful cafe! Friendly and fast service! Huge delicious lates and cakes, one of the best carrots cake i have ever tried! Great to work for 1.5h, you will need to book for more time. Also only open on weekdays:) a must if you are in the area

Neat place, though service is a bit unprofessional. Average coffee and bits to eat. Could be atmospheric, since it's inside a picturesque church, but when we were there it was actually crowded, and too many kids working from their laptops locked in their private bubbles took not only space but made the vibe kind of zombiesque. Maybe its vocation is more of a coworking space than a café.

Beautifully unique cafe, located within a church. Sip your coffee or tea in awe of the wonderful surrounds. Very nice and friendly staff, offered us a bowl of soup for free as they were closing soon.

The hidden gem cafe in London. The experience of having a cup of coffee inside the holy and peaceful church was very special.

It is an incredibly beautiful church and a lovely setting for the cafe. Very reasonably priced compared to other city places and it was easy to find a seat. But warning the foccacia sandwiches are huge!! We got 2 but should have shared 1. A nice pot of tea for me and a cold drink for my daughter. Maybe a couple more non meat items pls, maybe tuna or salmon. And it's order at the counter. Take time to look around the church, which was rebuilt after the great fire of london. The plasterwork on the ceiling is amazing.

Great coffee in unique atmosphere right in the heart of London. Great place to catch a breath while exploring this beautiful city, or to grab a sandwich and have a lunch break.

Today, I was on the lookout for a place where I could have a coffee and work on my laptop, and I found Host Café, located within the charming church, offers a truly distinctive experience. The historical backdrop adds an enchanting touch to your visit. However, during my visit, the cold was nearly unbearable. The constant draft caused by multiple open doors made it difficult to enjoy my time there comfortably. Regarding the pricing, the policy of charging £10 beyond 1.50 minutes may not suit all budgets. In all, Host Café is an exceptional spot that's well worth a visit. Just be sure to dress in your warmest layers for a truly enjoyable experience!

Cafe in a beautiful church with gorgeous ceilings and colorful glass. A warm spot in a cloudy chilly late spring day ☁️ With the options to pay and stay longer, this might be a good space for working/studying in a tranquil environment. Cortado is on the stronger side, with notes of fruity dark chocolate. Focaccia looks good too.

Ordered a V60 coffee and brownie. The coffee was very good, full of flavour and the acidity in the coffee came through. Reasonably priced at £3.80. The brownie was delicious and super rich (a serious sugar rush too). A bit expensive at £4.20. Service was fast and very friendly. Surroundings are unique! Well worth a visit.

This is the best filter coffee (not pictured)I have had in a London. The setting is also pretty nice with it being within a church. If you like filter coffee then I highly recommend you try it if you are the area.

Found out about this place on a London Walks. A little gem in St Mary aldermery. Open Mon to Fri generally. But open today as The Lord Major show. Simple selection of food . Sit in the alecated area of the church

Need to have a dee chat in peace about something that is important to you? There is no better place than the pews of this church. Food is good, there are even 3 choices of hot chocolate. The church shows the deplorable German influence on London's ecclesiastical architecture, there are clear signs that it was bombed.

A cafe set inside a church, offering a peaceful atmosphere to enjoy some quiet time. I visited around 10am and most of the seats were already taken, however there are options to sit in the pew. Most people were working by themselves with a laptop, some were chatting with friends or colleges. It’s a very easy, quiet and comfortable vibe that invites to sit down and enjoy peace. I had an americano (£3) and a chocolate croissant (£2,90), which both were decent. The chocolate croissant was however a bit too sweet for me.

Coffee was excellent and the setting is just unbeatable. The church is wonderful inside and there's plenty of space to sit and soak in the decor. Tables available but mostly pew seating. Service was friendly and the cakes looked tasty. I recommend getting the V60 if you're there to sample the coffee.

Good value for money, good sized coffees in a great setting. Found the coffee and service to be good. Lots of tables to sit and have a nice view, coffee, and pastry. They also have Wi-Fi. The site is really well situated for relaxing and enjoying a break or start to your day. There are also a few food vendors outside so you can grab something to eat inside and get a coffee.

This is a fabulous place to stop for a coffee in the City. I run tours round the city and it's hard to find places for my groups to stop off that aren't very generic chains. But the atmosphere of this cafe is really special. Plus the coffee is delicious. Thanks Karolina and team for keeping us fuelled up for our walk!

First came here nearly a decade ago, revisited recently. Still an amazing sanctuary amidst the bustle. Truly great coffee in a serene setting - what's not to love?

Love the idea of having your morning tea/coffee in a 17th century gothic church rebuilt by Christopher Wren.

Unique remote working venue. You can book a 4 hour slot for £10 which includes 2 free drinks. The wifi is good enough for video calls, there’s tasty food (baguettes, soup and cake), the toilets are clean and the staff are very nice. It’s a 3min walk from Bank station. Only thing is that they close at 4pm and if you’re prone to feeling cold then bring an extra layer, it is a church after all :)
