A lovely oasis set back from a busy London street. You could easily walk past the venue. Open Tuesday to Fridays. I suggest a double shot Cortado or double shot piccolo to ensure you get the full flavour of the coffee extraction. The Barista is knowledgeable and super friendly. You can tell by how he interacted with us and other visitors that he loves what he does. Sourcing great coffee beans and giving great service. If you enjoy a good natural coffee without sugar or syrup this is a venue for you. You can also buy coffee related accessories and snacks etc

What else can I really add to previous reviews, other than confirm this is a great little coffee escape. The location is brilliant, situated in the garden of an old church. There is plenty of character in the surroundings and on top of that the coffee is will made and tastes perfect. There's little reason to go elsewhere.

A gem , hidden in plain sight. Wow. What a find. If you don't walk past or already know about it, well that's your downfall. We were so lucky and just walk past. I am so jealous of the people here in the office's and can come almost every day. Not far from British Museum. If you are in the area and need the "perfect" coffee then make a small effort you won't be disappointed.

Fantastic customer service and the most amazing taste of coffee. Not exaggerating; the coffee was creamy and delicious! We had an espresso (to mention my boyfriend always drinks coffee with sugar: but not this time! - and I am a cappuccino lover, the milk was so perfectly foamed I’ve never tasted something like that before! A sweet spot in the heart of the city.

Man. I'm in two minds about this review. Such a tucked away hidden gem of place. Want to keep it all for myself..but they're so good that it's only right to share the goodness. Visit this place! Oh and they're jamming to Miles Davis. #DoesItAll

After years of enjoying coffee brewed by the magnificent Mr.Genaro here at EspressoBase, i am late to write this review… i have to assure you that this is the spot to invite any coffee aficionado or lover and it is a place to impress for sure. Undisputed best espresso based coffee and an amazing cup of batch brew filter. Always looking forward to the limited days this venue is open during the week.

The best coffee I’ve had is at a little coffee cart in a garden called ExpressoBase Speciality Coffee in the heart of London. It’s open from Tuesday to Friday. With choices like piccolo and cortada alongside the traditional expresso, macchiato, latte and cappuccino, all of which are made with freshly roasted, organic coffee bean and served without sugar (you don’t need it), it caters to true coffee aficionados. We paired our coffee with some delicious Italian Cantucci and Amaretti biscuits and even took a second cup (it’s that good!) With a friendly and knowledgeable barista (owner) who gave us some great recommendations, ExpressoBase is a hidden gem for genuine coffee enthusiasts (not people who like the syrupy sweet concoctions) and those seeking a genuine Italian experience.

The best espresso I’ve found in London! I stumbled across this place after a visit to the British Museum and it was such a delight. Had a fantastic cortado in a lovely little garden. Will definitely stop here every time I come to London!

Can really recommend if you want to have good coffee (that doesn't need sugar!) The drinks can be had with ice or oat milk which is greatly appreciated :D the amaretti are also delicious

This used to be my daily go-to for coffee. Came back for a visit after many years and was really happy to see it’s just as amazing as it always has been. The coffee is fantastic and the owner is extremely kind. It’s a little hidden oasis in the middle of London… can’t be recommended enough :)

The coffee is just perfect and the place is magnificent, a garden full of plants, nice relaxing jazz, the owner is so nice, the perfect cozy place to enjoy your coffee far away from the loud. You should check it out!

A fabulous find. Proper coffee, sourced, roasted and brewed with love. And set in a delightful little oasis just off the mayhem of touristville.

We discovered Gennaro's coffee oasis on our way to the British Museum. On a typical rainy London morning and enjoying a beautifully brewed flat white made our visit great ! An unpretentious green pocket to rejuvenate from all the touristy fatigue. Pop by when you can.

Casually found this place on my way to the museum. I'm glad I trusted the "Italian style coffee" sign because it was beyond delicious. The garden is very nice too. Totally raccomend it, even in Italy is rare to find a coffee this good👍

superb coffee in a lovely garden setting. I spotted it by chance one day when traveling on the upper deck of a bus (you could easily walk past it every day without noticing it exists). i finally went today, and am really glad I did. simply excellent quality coffee.

Fantastic coffee, unusually for London served at the correct temperature. The little garden it is set in is also lovely

A tiny oasis of tranquility in a busy part of London. We came across this place by accident and found the best coffee in London! Find a space amongst the planters which provide privacy and a shield from the noise of the road, and enjoy a perfect cup of coffee and lovely homemade cantucci. Worth a detour!

Once upon a time, a work colleague of mine suggested he and I go grab a coffee. My colleague was Turkish. I figured he probably had high standards for coffee, so I'd let him decide where we go. A short walk out the office led us into a small churchyard, where, on a small cart, under a tent, Gennaro does nothing but perform magic. Each coffee is an artwork. Each sip a delight. Truly, I don't believe I've had a better coffee in London. 5 stars.

Amazing coffee, the best I've had in a really long time. This place serves coffee in a very opinionated way, which I think is perfect to really appreciate it. And the wonderful, peaceful garden provided a much-needed break from London's hectic rhythm.

Forget the place, it is a simply perfect coffee - and I drink a lot of coffee. It is difficult to describe in words, so I’ll just say the very kind gentleman barista asked me to consider trying my flat white without the one sugar I always ask for. I drink espresso like that, but a flat white, I said, deserves a bit of sugar. Nevertheless I gave it a shot - he said it was all in the milk whether it was a little bitter, and I only disagree that it must surely be in both the milk and espresso. Long story short, it was delicious, and I never did add a sugar. I would come back any time I am nearby, absolutely wonderful. The garden is lovely too!

COFFEE OASIS. Gennaro set up his cafe in the courtyard of a grand church, with plants and teak seating. Like Nature’s coffee oasis in the middle of Central London. Changes his coffees regularly—always exploring. Prefers single origins to blends so he can uncover the beauty of the bean. Definitely my favorite space in good weather...feels like an escape.

It is a very lovely place hiding in busy central London. I ordered espresso, bitter but not too bitter, sour but not too sour. Just about perfect to me. Will definitely come again!

If you want to take a rest and have a peaceful time, this is the most perfect place. But be notice that it is hard to sit on table when it is rain. Of course coffee and food are delicious enough. And for Barista papa, I wish I could visit once again before I came back to Korea. I really miss this place.

This quaint little coffee shop made me feel like humanity was still beautiful. The Italian man making me a cappuccino was so genuine and kind. The plants everywhere on a dreary london day transported me to the Amazon rainforest. The coffee was delightful amidst it all. I have nothing poor to say! :)
