One of the most beautiful places I have ever been. The food was great, very well seasoned and you get plenty of delicious options. Even better were the decorations on the walls. It’s an amazing welcoming and heartwarming place. We went out there with the biggest smiles!! They also give free food to homeless people which was so nice!! Also your allowed to bring your own booze which I think is really cool.

Great value veggie Indian buffet. Lovely fresh salads and mixed dishes. Recommend the Aloo Paneer and Dall. Quirky posters promoting healthy style eating. Be kind and stay well

The hotel is though compact but interior arranged smartly. The hotel offers all you can eat for the price of 12GBP. Also they offers takeaway for 5 and 7GBP. The staffs are polite and helpful. This hotel when you enter all you can see an information about vegetables and their advantages on the walls. It is full of Tips for good health, facts, quotes and photographs of great leaders. The dishes are pretty decent and tasty with many options of curries mostly like Dhal, Potato or Paneer. There are about 5 types of salad available which are very tasty and healthy. Potato fries, onion pakora and cabbage pakora are delicious as a side. Pooris are available, 2 types of pilao rice available and plain white rice too. Good thing is you can take your alcohol beverage from outside and have there with food, they won't charge for that. All over a decent and nice vegetarian dishes to have in London.

This place is fantastic! Cheap buffet consisting of very decent quality produce and you can bring your own drinks at no extra cost. Lots of medical information on the walls but it’s mainly pretty harmless. Friendly staff and they occasionally give food to the homeless so it’s an already ethical place. I’ve been many times and will continue to come back.

This is likely the best Indian food I have had in a restaurant, or that wasn't catered or home cooked. Everything tastes wonderful! The briyani is great, the vegetable curry is delicious, the fried options are crunchy even in the trays, and the mint infused items are vibrant. I'd happily return for their buffet, especially for the price. The only gripes I have are that the fried options are fairly oily. They taste great, but you can feel the oil taste inside them. The restaurant is also absolutely covered in wall paper listing all the benefits of vegetables and a vegetarian diet. Not a bad thing, probably not even wrong, but it felt like I was eating surrounded by diatery propaganda. Still, as I said before, the buffet was fantastic and I'd happily return. Can't beat it for the price!

This is one of those places you either love or hate. Personally love it, buffet all you can eat, relaxed, calming and staff that are happy to engage and be friendly or just leave you to it. Decent location too that suits the type of place it is, set back from the main streets etc. Food is always good, if you a big eater this is def worth the money! I've even taken my 4 yo daughter here and she loved it. Long live the buffet!

My favourite Indian restaurant! Been eating here since they opened in the 80s. Buffet is a range of very tasty vegetarian/vegan food - eat as much as you like. Free food generously provided to the homeless too. Unfortunately, I'm only awarding 4 stars due to price rise, now £14.95, making it expensive now and not such great value.

Indian Veg Restaurant has buffet only in their menu on very nominal rates. In buffet snacks , Indian dishes, poori are served on self service basis. They don’t serve Tandoori roti , Naan in the buffet. The Retaurant allows to bring your own bottles to drink. The Retaurant promoters not only serves vegetarian dishes but also promote vegetarianism through inspirational quotes, statements displayed in every possible corner of the restaurant.Last but not the least they also provide with free food to every home less , regardless to any caste, creed , colour, size etc. This special quality also inspired me to write a review for them & applaud 👏 on their efforts to eradicate hunger. On enquiry the promoters informed me that 20 to 40 people roughly come for the free packed boxes every day. 👏👏. A big round of applaus for them. 👏🙏

You can’t fault it - it’s tasty, it’s affordable and it’s an institution! I had a great time on a recent visit - a wide range of tasty curries and salads, and you can really fill your boots. Great selection of soft drinks. Friendly and helpful staff. Iconic decorations and motivational posters.

Great food and worth every £ you paid! We have ordered a couple of things, but we have finished too quickly, so there are no photos for the first set we have eaten. Staff is friendly, food very delicious, especially the NAN bread! I have been so many Indian restaurants and I really really love the nan bread here! So soft , warm, fresh! Highly recommended 👌

Incredibly cheap vegetarian / vegan all you can eat, but nevertheless, the food is good, if a bit oily. Stuff is friendly and they do social services for the homeless too. Very informal environment. The posters on the walls are a bit ludicrous but they're part on the ambience, wouldn't change then.

Absolutely wonderful, charismatic restaurant that does a properly tasty vegetarian buffet for less than a tenner per head. The commitment to being an ethical business is lovely, and the fact they give homeless people free meals whatever time a day should be reason enough to give them your business. It's a happy coincidence that the food is delicious and gives you so much variety at a price you don't get in this part of London much.

Without a doubt, London’s best Indian buffet. Not only was the food delicious and full of variety, Mr. Safa (pictured) was a wonderful host and took time to speak to us in detail about his story, the early days of the restaurant and more. He even kindly gifted me one of their famous novelty mugs (as a birthday present)! The interior is a delight, filled to the brim with all sorts of vege/vegan paraphernalia, jokes & anecdotes. It really is one of London’s hidden gems - I just hope more people discover it! 🥦🥬🌽🥕🫒🫑🧅🧄🥑🍆🍅

One of my all-time favourites. Traditional and authentic veggie and vegan Indian dishes, packed full of flavour. The only reason this place has lost a star is due to rising prices, but it’s still value for money regardless. Will always come back! 👍🏽

This place right here, Indian Veg is the hidden gem of authentic Indian cuisine. For a meat lover like me who went in with an open heart to not expect much from a vegetarian diet, I was so so wrong. Ideally located only 3mins walk from Angel Train Station with lots of buses and along the White Chapel Market, you gotta eat here 💯 First impression... Warm, clean and friendly. Wide variety of meal options, all vegetarian with lots of healthy facts plastered all over the wall. I was amazed by some of them actually and after speaking with the owner who clearly runs the place with lots of love and passion before profits, feeding 100 homeless people daily which amounts to 700 weekly, I'm in awe. Not only do I have lots of undying respect for the owner, every single dish were mouthwatering and free from any nasties like msg. I swear down, I never ever thought I'd like vegetarian food but I'm definitely half converted after visiting Indian Veg. Put it this way, I won't be buying meat in a hurry after I use up current stack in freezer. For a foodie like me, I couldn't manage more than 2 plates and there was no corkage fee to Bring Your Own Wine/Beer. Glasses were supplied too freely and the food supplies kept coming. Though you serve yourself but please, take small portions at a time so as to avoid wastage. Oh did I mention too that the All You Can Eat buffet is a tenner? Yep, very cheap and cheerful with quality homemade vegetarian, healthy meals. Every single person that were eating there were all friendly as we all spoke about how amazing the place was and for so little price, it should be put on the very top of The Best Places To Eat In London, England, UK.

A bit pricey, I definitely think they can reduce their prices which is why I gave it four stars but I can’t deny that the food is delicious. Every selection I got was a party in my mouth. This place is a real champion and honorarium to vegetarian food. Drinks have to be purchased separately.

I used to go here back in the 80’s when I lived nearby in Hackney. Happy to see it’s still thriving. Met the owner and reunited myself with the joy of all you can eat and eternal curry . The writing is on the wall , we are all steeped in existential pakora .

We booked a table for a small 50th birthday party and had an excellent time. The food was delicious and great value for money. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. The restaurant was busy, but not full. We arrived at 7:30pm and we were put under no pressure to leave before we were ready to go, which was fairly close to closing time. Well done Indian Veg we all look forward to seeing you again soon.

This resurant is simply amazing. The food is very tasty at a really great price, especially for London prices. It's a proper quirky little place with the most insane amount of information about healthy living and vegetarian/vegan life style benefits plastered all over the walls. It's quite intense all the info but brilliant. Real Character. More places like this in the world please

Not to bad , price increase as you can see , everything is up on cost so it's no surprise it's the new normal sadly, still fairly decent food tho. They prefer cash here also .

Where do I begin? Indian Veg is a heavenly place. Perfectly situated in Angel, with the owner, who actually feels like a real-life angel, opening the restaurant day and night and giving any homeless person food and water seven days of the week. He also sends the majority of his profits to schools and disability services in India. A selfless, giving and humble man. The restaurant is covered with interesting factual posters that are written by his daughter, who is a doctor, and her friends who also work for NHS, and designed by him. There are so many inspirational and thought-provoking messages that make you feel so much gratitude and appreciation for life. And I haven't even started writing about the food yet! Delicious home-cooked fresh authentic Indian food (all fairly mild). It's so yummy and the best thing is you can have as much as you desire! I love Indian Veg and will be supporting it as much as I can. Definitely recommend!!!

Cafe style Buffet restaurant offering a straightforward dining option at a very reasonable price. £15 a head currently and looks like this has only gone up recently which makes sense given COVID and current inflation situation. Food is all vegetarian which is great, overall I'd describe the food as basic, hearty and delicious. Basic isn't a bad thing when everything is done well. Good selection of salads, bhaji, curries and rice. Both the gentlemen working there were friendly and welcoming. Great option for a quick lunch or dinner. Makes complete sense why this place seems to be a long term fixture, 38 years and counting!

I visited this Indian buffet eatery during the lunch hour with high expectations but unfortunately that’s all that it was. The starters were definitely from the night before and the majority of the dishes were luke warm and so lacked oomph. At £12.95 per head a tad pricey for mediocre tasting food. One to avoid!

  • 5/5 Tina S. 3 months ago on Google • 9 reviews New
I have been coming here for many years. Always good food, polite staff and friendly atmosphere. I'm not strictly vegetarian but I am always satisfied with the tasty food here. I highly recommend even to carnivores. I love reading all the posters too!

  • 2/5 I 1 month ago on Google • 7 reviews New
FALSE ADVERTISING. Their website says the price is £7.95 not £13.95. The food wasn’t hot and was barely warm. This isn’t really good value unless you’re a big person with a huge appetite. Very disappointing. I was surprised that it was so quiet on a Saturday evening but I expect other people feel the same way.

I'm not a vegetarian, but this is one of my favourite places to eat in London. One of my favourite in the country, in fact. I'm not a food expert or anything, so I probably can't effectively describe their food. Just go there one day, grab a plate, and take whatever you think looks good. You'll love it.

  • 5/5 Megan D. 7 months ago on Google
Simple, effective and delicious. £12.95 for a buffet cannot be complained about, especially when the food is so tasty. Service is practical, its byob at no extra cost, and its just such a pleasure to go somewhere as a vegetarian and be able to eat EVERYTHING. Will return again, this is a new fav.

Been coming here since 1990 so i know what to expect. Its still great value and bring your own botrle, great place whether you are alone or in a crowd rhe staff are friendly but leave you alone, unlike some other establishments nearby. May you continue to thrive

  • 1/5 Elenor H. 8 months ago on Google
Although the general taste of the food is good and the vegetarian propaganda posters add charm… my food was Luke warm there was flooding coming from the ceiling - the food was repeating on me right after eating and felt sick not sure because of temperature and it was left out too long or the cooking oils used? But would have appreciated a discount as 15 per head very steep as it’s quite carb heavy most wouldn’t eat more than plateful anyway I think if you halved the price or at least reduced to 10£ would be more reasonable

  • 5/5 Lewis B. 4 months ago on Google
Come on down and get your taste buds sorted out in the best way. It's all veggie, you can eat as much as you like and its a set price (12.50 when i went). There's a range of food for eveey palate, some old favourites and stuff i hadn't tried before as well. Very popular at dinner time.

  • 3/5 S S. 1 year ago on Google
It looks like a mini Indian vegetarian mess (small hotel). There are a lot of items but as an Indian I could say the taste is not completely authentic. The rice is a bit different from the normal Indian rice and the curries also vary little in taste. Bhajjies (Onion, Potato etc) are very good, but are oily and they get cold. They give unlimited food for just £13. That's good thing. And they paste about the greatness, descriptions and health benefits of the Indian Spices all over the hotel. Those attracted me.

  • 5/5 Laura A. 9 months ago on Google
The most delicious food for such a reasonable price. The posters around the place are just brilliant and create an amazing food. The staff are always super accommodating and have great advice. One of the first places I reach to recommend!

When I worked at First Sport many many years ago me and a friend used to come here for lunch. We are meat eaters but the food tasted so good that we could go without and enjoy the spices with the veg. So on returning to the area with mum I thought I'd see if she would fancy eating there as she's a west indian mum, she is fussy about where she eats and the food. We chose our seats as it wasnt busy, got two all you can eat plates and had a little of everything on out plates. The food was still just as good if not better than all those years ago. Mum only managed one plate but I tasted the dhal and that was it! I had two more plates full mainly of dhal and rice tasted just the way Indian West Indians make it those from Trinidad and Guyana. We also sampled a dink from their vast selection I had never seen before, Extra Malty Supermalt! Mum enjoyed it so much she took two bottles home. The restaurant/cafe is pleasant, clean and simple, it's self-serve (hence the service rating) but the cashier is accommodating and helpful. The toilets are very clean, it's easy to imagine a market eatery to be run down and dirty inside but this place is a pleasant surprise, if there is a mess anywhere its customer created (like mum dropping her fork) rather than sloppy staff and lack of cleanliness. I highly highly recommend a visit and sure you will be hooked, healthy, spicy, tasty food at a low cost you simply cannot go wrong.

I love Indian veg! Come here all the time for affordable delicious vegetarian Indian food. The staff are lovely and welcoming and to top it all off it’s bring your own booze! Perfect for a cheap night out in London!

I’ve been coming to this peaceful and welcoming vegetarian restaurant for over 20 years now and believe me I certainly wouldn’t keep coming back if the food wasn’t out of this world. I went last week for the first time since before the pandemic and I must say I was not disappointed at all and it was as gorgeous tasting as ever. All I can say is the food and variety have just got better and better over the years and the fact that this is an (eat as much as you want restaurant) just makes the experience even more worth the money. Plus they have the option to bring your own beer or wine if you choose. Although not that I ever have as the selection of cold beverages are a perfect choice anyway.

  • 5/5 Nilesh P. 1 year ago on Google
Excellent value for money, all you can eat vegetarian and vegan buffet. Very much cooked at home style, which is why I enjoy it. Plenty to choose from and most of the options are vegan. You can even bring your own drinks. It's nothing flash, very relaxed, cafe style, but if you want a quiet meal with no fuss, it's perfect.

If you're looking for brilliant vegan food, this is average. Vegan Fusion is only a little further up the road on Chapel Market and is EXCELLENT. Seriously tasty and great service. Unfortunately when you Google them, this restaurant comes up!

Hands down the best vegan Indian I've ever had. Such a beautiful wholesome place, I felt so welcomed and looked after. The food is unbelievably good, so fresh and so much flavour. The lovely gentleman who owns the restaurant is such a delight, one of the good ones. Will be visiting again very very soon! Think it's going to be a weekly visit! Luckily it's only £9 for a buffet!!!

What a lovely place. Great food, byob (we brought our own beers), and a great mission. They serve homeless folks a takeaway box and water bottle upon request. All vegetarian, but I didn't miss the meat at all. This is a sweet, peaceful, tasty, buzzy little restaurant. We'll be back!

  • 5/5 VASEY V. 2 years ago on Google
Honestly this is hands down one of the nicest places i've eaten. Forget fine dining, this is outstanding, authentic home cooking at its finest! But what really sets this place apart is its hospitality, this establishment really could not do enough to make us feel welcome and to ensure our experience was the best it could be. Free education all over the walls, BYOB is a lovely touch, and we even got a indian veg mug on the house!!! Definitely going to be coming back and bringing our friends and family whenever they visit. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!

This is really really tasty Indian Veg buffet with more meals than you usually get to choose from in places of this sort. People who work here are so nice and in good mood. Place is spacious and peaceful and just pleasant place to be in. As I said, food is amazing and has fresh taste. Price Is also fair I guess, its still below tenner. Hope it stays same cause I plan to eat here more often.

Fabulous food (…I forgot to photograph it and, three plates into the all-you-can-eat challenge I can’t move my belly back to the buffet bar…) the walls also feed your mind. Quirky, cheap, accommodating, this restaurant – which incidentally also feeds the homeless – needs to be on the want-to-go list of any aspiring vegan/vegetarian visiting London.
