I can very simply sum up my experience here as a disgrace and a scam. We arrived and weren't greeted in any kind and welcoming way but simply asked "cash or card" before we ordered anything. We realised over the course of the meal that cash was preferable to the owner for two reasons - 1: I am guessing the obvious tax issues, 2: it made it easier to try and short change us at the end of the meal. The meal was good enough on first tasting however both my wife and myself suffered the effects of food poisoning that night and this was the only meal we ate so you do the maths as they say. The bill part of the meal was a fiasco. The owner, after having promised a 10% discount for paying cash added a 10% service cost for non-existent service. After having removed the service the owner after carefully calculating the revised cost of the meal succeeded in short changing us £5 which I quickly demanded back (and as an aside this seems to be a habit he has got into doing). I would avoid this place at all costs - cash or credit card! As I said at the top of this review - an absolute disgrace.

A small restaurant and weird service. The outside of the restaurant is beautiful but when you enter the restaurant you are welcomed with poor service ( a man with a white beard has the worst manners). The food is ok, but if you go near the end of the buffet they will not bring out my food. This is very poor from the restaurant. The staff will just stand and watch you eat but not offer any water or service during the buffet. One of the worst buffets.

I visited hoping for something quick and good. Service was pretty bad. On the positive they got my order right. However in a restaurant only half full, I was put at a table right at the back with view of the drinks fridge, dustpan and brush and cardboard boxes etc. The waiter must have been an owner or manager. He was dismissive, and wasn't even looking at me - glued to whatever was out the window - when taking my order. The food could have been a bad order, or just bad food. Dosa (reason why I went in) was huge but wasn't great and was filled with lumpy mashed potato and a tiny tin of "special sauce" for tipping on it. I didn't enjoy it, but wouldn't go back to find out if it was my menu choice or not. The atmosphere was dead. With the wait staff as they were, there was no bustle or welcome. I really didn't have a great time and probably wouldn't go back. There are other places on Drummond Street I will try.

Must know for every vegetarian/vegan in London. Amazing food, huge choice during Sunday's buffet. Edit: went back after 4 years. They didn't have buffet at Sunday 7:45pm; It felt forced as the waiter sit us down, because we only asked a question, didn't leave us space to decide/discuss if we wanted to stay, but we were hungry and went along. Overall the waiters felt a bit rude. We had 5 dishes, which we couldn't finish. Exotic Karahi Mix (mostly orange colored curry): nice flavours, lots of carrots. Muttor/mutter paneer (light orange dish with 🥄 in it): it had very few peas in it, but the curry was flavoursome and the paneer was really good, it wasn't squeaking like every else. Vegetable rice: yellow rice with vegetables and spices, not hot. Aloo methi paratha (pencake-like bread): very thinly stuffed with some potato puree and spinach. Spinach and paneer dosa: 3 stuffed dosa slices, plenty of cottage cheese/spinach filling. Very nice side curries: sambar has an unusual sour flavour for Indian, the coconut is very strong with flavour, the red one we had no clue what it is. In the end we asked to take the remaining 2 dosas and a curry away, and they gave us 2 small metal boxes and we had to fill it. Unusual, but ok for the price range.

I had an absolutely fantastic meal here tonight, my first visit in probably more than a decade. Reading some of the negative reviews, I really thought we were taking a risk by returning. But the service was excellent, the food was fabulous, there was no weirdness about whether we were paying by cash or card (some common gripes), and overall it was as good as I always remember it being. We loitered for an hour or so after we had finished our food, and were never pressurised to move on. Of course we would have been happy to if there had been people waiting, but I think many of those complaining must have gone to a different restaurant than the place I greatly enjoyed this evening. Admittedly prices are higher than my last visit, but two of us had a three course meal, with three large beers between us (the alcohol licence is relatively new, I think!), and with service it came to £57.

I love that I can go somewhere and not have to worry about cross contamination. My son and I visited here after a day of theatre and visiting Regent’s Park. The staff gave us a table without booking as we got there early when there was only one other occupied table. It gradually filed up during the two hours we were there. The only server genuinely friendly was the gentleman who spoke with my son a few times. The others barely acknowledged me when I was ordering or checking on our meal. The poppadoms were lovely. The onion bhajia’s were phenomenal. I didn’t really care for my saag aloo as it was too oily but the mushroom rice was absolutely delicious. The roti was tasty. My son had two mango lassis and he loved them. Normally I’d enjoy having that much time in a restaurant but it was very quiet yet it took too long to get our food. I did explain that we didn’t want to wait long between courses and the waiter said okay…okay apparently doesn’t mean this will be passed on to the kitchen. They automatically include a service charge then ask you if you’d like to add a tip. I understand there’s a cost of living crisis & I understand London is expensive but their prices aren’t cheap as it is! Adding a service charge then expecting a bigger tip isn't playing fair. Overall I did enjoy the food and would go again.

This is unfortunate because most Bangladeshi food is great, sorry to say but it was NOTHING SPECIAL or the least very average. I did like to coconut chutney though. Price was silly and portions are even silly. This is not a place to eat even when you are drunk. Im so sorry but the tables are greasy, decor is dull, food is very average, portions are ok but not worth my money, mango lassi 3.50 ! I get a jug for 7 or 8 pounds man, come on stop ripping us off. Head waiter is disrespectful and rude.

The Buffet provides a few more options at £12.95 compared to Chutneys which is along the same street. However, besides that as a positive for me I found the place to have an amazing external appearance but limited optimistic vibes from the inside. The staff are the least hospitable amongst the many Indian cuisine restaurants I have visited in London. For Indians - like myself - it is subconsciously inculcated that Atithi Devo Bhava the Sanskrit verse, translated literally it means “The guest is equivalent to God”, this place harness the very least of it. As I did read the reviews for this place I did plan to visit it myself and I did find that the restaurant has still kept the bearded waiter who has a rude tone towards Indians and a non-welcoming tone to others (please address this as a priority). There is no guidance on the nature of the buffet or any comments or communication one sets with the whole meal experience due to the negative vibe and redundancy shown by the staff. THIS WAS A BIG BIG PUT OFF FOR ME. In terms of the food, even though the options were good and more than Chutneys I would still recommend the Chutneys buffet as the quality is much better there. Being an Indian myself I felt that the true spice, flavour and authenticity of the food was lost. Likewise, I did get tummy upset from eating the food here which is very uncommon as people love to have Indian Vegetarian food for better diet, health and fitness. I am most certainly disappointed in this place not only to this occasion but also to my previous take away experience with a parcel on Indian Chaat foods. The portions sizes were really small, of subpar quality and a very small cost to quality ratio. I am not even comparing it with the plethora of Indian options available in places like Wembley Hounslow or Harrow. But in comparison to the ones available in central London, this is one of the least valued places for me. I would any day recommend chutney for vegetarian and taste of India for non-veg foods around Euston (or Euston Square) Station. P.S.: sorry I do not have much pictures except for the few taken with my buffet

Wanted to give 0 rating, worst service. Went for some starters as name suggests its a bhelpuri House but they denied to give as we don’t wanted to order main course. When we said we can take main course parcel they said should have to buy main course per person. If thats the case then they should change there name first and add this clause - Starter only if you order main course with larger fonts. Then no one will come to your restaurant to waste their time😡

This Bangladeshi restaurant does not serve authentic indian food. Avoid this restaurant for indian food. Tried bhel puri which did not taste good at all and chana bhatura was tasteless. Bhatura was not fresh and was reheated bhatura which came folded like chapati, which was disastrous. How can you serve reheated and folded bhatura in a restaurant?? It is equivalent to serving wine with ice! Blunder. Overall food was appalling which left a bad after taste of food. Non-Indians may like the food because most of them have little idea how Indian food should taste and look like. This restaurant serves failed imitation of indian food. They have some weird rule that you have to place order for starter and main course in one go only. Probably if I had just ordered starters, and after tasting them I would not have ordered a main course. And this is Bangladeshi restaurant, not Indian restaurant.

Great paper dosas here, thin crispy fresh made & accompanied with sambhar, chutney, savory soup & potato masala. Tastiest dosas we've tried this side of the world. They also offer All You Can Eat Buffet for L12.95 on Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays. Great place, awesome food!

Before the lockdowns, this place had the best quality vegetarian buffet in London. Used to go regularly but notice that they no longer do a lunch buffet which is a great shame. Now have to make do with Chutneys who still offer an all you can eat option for £9.95 which is good value.

A pleasant restaurant, tasty food. Delicious. Price are reasonable. Staff... A waiter has pushed for a tip. I felt confused. Also, we cannot calmly pack our stuff because waiter came and started to clean the table. Confused again. Will I visit this place again? I don’t know. I’m confused

One of the last few 'All you can eat' Indian buffets in London! For 12.95, they provide a decent variety of food. The quality is good but not great, but the food is fresh and tastes authentic. One thing they can work on is their cutlery, they could provide proper plates for their buffet.

Ravi Shankar restaurant is a pure veg restaurant. We went to this restaurant for our lunch. I tried thali, it comes with a lot of items like rajma, kadhi, gulab jamun etc. It’s enough for a person to finish. Apart from that, we ordered Nan, Paneer curry and mixed vegetable curry. It did not taste authentic but it was okay. I would recommend anyone trying Kashmiri Falooda.

Really nice tadkha daal to which I chopped up the chappati and mixed it in and it went down very well. The service was good and the restaurant looks and feels great.

Ridiculously good Indian food! It's all vegetarian but it's so good you would never know. Prompt service. There's a 10% service charge but it's London - that's pretty much standard these days. It's good value for money too, you can easily get a meal and a drink for £20.

The reason for 2 star is because of the nice two gentleman bald man who does a good customer service. They lost 3 star since there is this tall guy with glasses with horrible attitude . Just a stingy man. He is tall has hair and wear glasses. Don't make it prepare your food. He made my chaat and it was horrible and he wouldn't modify or would give extra green chutney since it was so blank. Arrogant and doesn't care for customers . Food is quite blank not authentic Indian food in any means

Great food. Nice place. With the bill a servicecharge of 10% was suddenly added (mentioned nowhere on the menu). I would have loved to tip, but greedy behavior like this left a bad taste in the mouth. Foreigners make easy pickings, right?

Rudest group of waiters I've ever encountered. We were the only three people in the restaurant. I asked for a second glass of wine since we had just gotten our food and my companions had full glasses of beer. The waiter said no, they are closed. I thought he was joking and looked at another waiting standing nearby and said, "Am I really not allowed a glass of wine?" He also said no and repeated that they were closed. Very puzzling since we were sitting there with large quantities of food to eat. Luckily a young guy came in who seemed to be the manager and I told him what was going on. He schooled the waiters on the proper way of treating a paying guest and I was served my wine. I have a feeling that if I were male it wouldn't have been an issue. The food was okay, but you better believe I will never be back.

Not very pleased with the service and neither with the taste. The waiter didn't looked even slightest interested in serving. When we asked for the menu after settling in, before getting the menu he said "it is cash only, no cards", we (my wife and I) quickly checked with eachother and said yes, it was ok as we had some cash. Looked like that the waiter wasn't quite impressed with us staying back despite what he thought was a warning. We ordered 2 items and here he comes back asking us, "it will be £11.15, is that ok? This was the most unpleasant conversation, why on earth a waiter would ask his customers whether they were happy paying £11, we both checked our dressing and didn't find us dressed like homeless. Anyways, he brought 2 dishes, Bhel and Special Platter. Bhel was nowhere near what anyone would call a Bhel, just random things mixed and tamarind sauce added, no taste.... and the Special Platter was 6 Dahi-Puris, which we only learnt after paying that he had served us Special Poori instead of Special Platter. I will never step in this place again. And yes, they even didn't produce bill, which seemed very dodgy. In nutshell, an eatery to be avoided in any case.

Nice restaurant, buffet is a bargain and you should definitely go on an empty stomach! Great selection of vegetarian food - it is exclusively vegetarian. Other menu items fantastic too, I recommend the Dosa's! On the downside, they like you to pay in cash only, unless your table pays together in one single card transaction. Waiters friendly too, although sometimes a little pushy to sell you extras. They like to be tipped too! Overall, very tasty food and good quality. I visit regularly.

visited recently in 2022 April during lunch time, 1-the food is not good - tons of sugar/sweetness in everything.- not authentic Indian at all. 2-the staff is RUDEST ! literally dictating us what to do, and what to order. 3-one of my friends wanted to have just a snack, staff made a comment saying - "oh you will eat only starters no food. why ?" 4-plates were not changed after requesting 4 times, we got an answer - "just eat in the same plate." 5-Buffet was not available despite the sign being put for buffet. 6-10% extra service charge added to total amount without mentioning on the bill, be alert, add up your totals and match it with the bill ! 7-cutlery/plates were not clean. overall - Not recommended, Avoid.

Havent been to RS for many years and was worried because of some of the reviews. Food was great, tasty and how I remember it. We had bhelpoori and dhosas. Quick service. It was more expensive than I remember but then cost of everything in UK has risen so sort of understand. The only negative aspect was that we felt a bit rushed at the end. One of the waiters was eager to get us to leave once we finished. It would have been understandable if there was a queue of people waiting for tables but there wasnt. In fact there were empty tables so wasnt sure what the rush was. If they had left us for a bit, we might have ordered dessert and/or more drinks. Instead, we went next door to the pub and had 3 more rounds of drinks there. So perhaps a lost opportunity.

The food is delicious but the staff is rather rude. We went there for the buffet and they had a sign that said buffet 7.95, however, there was no buffet “because of covid” but the sign was still there… when we were having dinner, a man who came to the restaurant got mad when he saw the sign advertising the buffet and kicked it down. The staff from the restaurant put it up again… So it’s clearly to attract customers to the restaurant.

Delicious authentic vegetarian/vegan Indian food. So nice and refreshing to have so many choices! Fantastic friendly service and down-to-earth relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend - I pop here for food most times I am getting a train through Euston.

Quick service Neutral ambience Upfront staff Cash only Nice food Inspite of food being good overall experience of my visit was average. It was lunch time, 50% place was empty still I didn't get to choose table of my choice. Good place if you want a quick bite. Time spent to get in, order and to eat lunch was 17 minutes.

One of the best vegetarian restaurants in Euston area. I've visited the restaurant for lunch buffet on many occasions and was never disappointed once. The selection of items from starters to sweets/desserts is good. It gets very busy at lunch and getting seats for a small group is difficult. Very good value for money.

  • 5/5 Mark L. 1 year ago on Google
I've been coming here for years, and am never disappointed. The menu features dishes that you won't find in standard Indian restaurants - try a dosa, which is like a huge stuffed pancake. Staff are friendly and it's reasonably priced. It's my go-to choice whenever I'm in the area.

Lovely rich saag panir. Washed down with a salty lasi. All vegetarian menu means they are the best place for meat eaters who want to see how nice veggie Indian food is. Some dishes are really very spicy...nice!

Finally an authentic Indian restaurant and the only one in Euston that serves real South Indian dishes. The dosas are really good and made in the traditional styles. The chaat options are also good, though heavy on the yoghurt. I am taking 1 star off for the coconut chutney which is too sweet.

I ate there last night and had a great meal. Very good food for what you pay. It would be easy to pay double at somewhere that's a bit more fashionable but this great value.

My parents used to come here over 30 years ago and it's still a great place to enjoy really good quality authentic food, portions aren't too big or expensive so you can order a proper spread between two and not come away overly full. Hidden gem that relies on its reputation and people who come back over generations.
