Well… Being American, we assume we have the best tacos, because of course America is intertwined beautifully with its Mexican and Hispanic neighbors and their contributions as Americans themselves to a thriving food culture… I was surprised to find the tacos at Wahaca to be so darn good!!! It’s definitely not “traditional” and that’s fine, it’s the modern age; it ought not to be. The melody of flavours in the tacos here are gorgeous! The decor and aesthetic of the space, it’s all charming enough and gritty enough. Maybe a bit too “hip” for its own good, but tame enough to not feel out of place amongst the air of cool vibes… I went to better restaurants while visiting London but tacos are hardly a five star 3 course. This is mostly as good as it gets without being a taco truck on the side of the road in the Yucatán… Drinks are watered down, totally needs to be more generous for the price, it’s quite obviously a money maker for them, and that’s a shame. Don’t believe me drink a few and walk a straight line outside. I’ve been 3 times to substantiate this! Cheers…

Wahaca Covent Garden is an excellent restaurant just off of the Main Street. The paper menus double as placemats, it’s helpful to keep them around as you’ll likely order more than one round of food. The blackberry margarita is sweet with a nice sour element which I found really tasty. The guacamole is simple and delicious - just avocado salt and lime. The pork is the best meat we had, both in the tacos and the burrito. The rainbow is also filling and tasty. Our favorite thing we had was a holiday special of potato esquites. The second time we went on our week-long trip they didn’t have them - what a shame!! We got the sweet potato bravas as. Side dish instead and they were also excellent! The smoky hibiscus dip reminds me of a more flavorful barbecue sauce! This place takes precautions for gluten free/celiac. They change their gloves and put allergy flags so you know what food is safe for you. A manager is also required to take your order to make sure that they’re serious about the allergy. Overall one of the best places we ate at in London!

How to best put it... it's a British version of Mexican food. Not bad and not great. Service is slow but when it finally comes, it's good. Mostly. Payment can work or system can fail multiple times in a row when you lose patience trying to get it to approve your card. Overall it's a pretty balanced experience, if you don't mind the bad stuff 😉😅

Luckily we booked as it was busier than expected. We arrived earlier than expected and only had to wait about 5 mins before getting a table. We were welcomed on entrance and Ricardo, who served us was very professional and polite. We decided to go for the ‘Favourites’ set menu, which we found underwhelming to be honest. This is more so due to the flavours of the food. We are glad we tried it for the first time.

Delicious food, great service and friendly staff. They served a group of 8 very well. Loads of seating available. Everyone loved the food - menu caters very well for a vegetarian audience. Food was amazing - I’d highly recommend the plaintain taco - their best. Drinks were also good. The staff showed loads of energy and were very helpful. Impressed with everything about this place. Easily accessible as well - quite central. reasonably quick service as well, they made a nice thing about the birthday too which felt good

Food was good but the service was a tragedy. Despite a calm and quiet restaurant visit, we struggled to get the attention of passing staff and waiters. Not cool. Time wasted.

Food taste good, not enough options for vegetarians or muslims, wish there was more on offer. Prices are high compared to some places. Atmosphere and service are always great, they do sell alcohol on these premises.

Wahaca is still by far one of my favourite restaurants. The food, cocktails and atmosphere is great and we always enjoy our experience here. This past time, although the service wasn't as good as it always is, the drinks and food thankfully made up for it. They still have the best sweet potato and feta taquito and the margaritas are to die for!

Food and service was decent. I really liked the chicken enchilada. It was full of flavour. Guacamole was excellent. Grilled chicken tacos was okay. I had to wait for about 15 minutes for the table. If you like mexican food it's worth a visit.

Nice and fast service. Food is good, nothing extraordinary in terms of taste. Nice variety of dishes. Price-performance ratio is good.

We popped into Wahaca Covent Garden at the last minute without a plan or reservation. They were super welcoming and the venue is pretty huge (for that central location). Nonetheless, the atmosphere was great due to the way the table are structured; even though their were only a few customers. Staff were attentive and helpful asking about allergies which was appreciated. They have dedicated Vegan and gluten free menus, but with ample options. No need to educate the Wahaca team; what a joy. Overall this was a fantastic experience with food quality, price, staff and atmosphere all workings towards an enjoyable dining experience. I had Plantain as well as the Ancho Mushroom Tacos from the street food options. But these were no basic street offerings, beautifully plated and a wonderfully sophisticated range of flavours. Mexican is not within my usual scope so there were a few unfamiliar tastes. But I truly loved eating every mouthful and will definitely return to make my way through the relatively substantial vegan set of possibilities. For dessert, they provided a choice between chocolate ice cream or Churros. I received 6 warm churros with heated rich chocolate to dip. They were tasty and tender; well worth the kcal. The menu is well marked with helpful information like calories, veganisable possibilities and key allergy notifications.

The service was super fast and we got our food within 30 minutes of being there. The food was super tasty too - I would recommend the cauliflower, vegan chicken tacos and nachos! We weren't super fans of the mushroom enchiladas but it was still nice.

Great Mexican street food with lovely staff. We hadnt booked a table just walked right in on a saturday afternoon. Got a table right away in a nice spot. Aide was amazing, very friendly, she walked us through the menu and ensured all allergies were considered. Food came out very quickly and it was amazing. All in all we all had an amazing time. Definitely recommend it

Regular visitor to Wahaca whenever I come to London either by myself or with others. This trip was myself, my wife and 2 children. As always the service was fantastic, our waitress went from quite an empty area to cover, to jam packed in the time we were eating and she still continued to make sure we were okay and the that the food came out in good time. The food was delicious, we had a good spread across the small plates section and couldn't fault anything. The one key thing I would want to call out was that we were offered to try some cricket salsa (pictured) for free... I am so glad we did. Normally I wouldn't try something like this but it was genuinely delicious and I can only hope they bring it onto the menu fully in the future.

Vibrant Mexican Street Food in London🇲🇽🌯🌮 I love street food and usually skip mains. Why? Coz’ I can eat more different dishes 😂😋 @wahaca has a range of nibbles & small plates and it’s defo for me😍😍 WHAT I GOT Mexico City Nachos Set Menu ‘FAVOURITES’ for 2 - Pork pibil tacos - Buttermilk chicken tacos - Treatly farm chorizo - Halloumi Al Pastor tacos - Organic squash & feta tostadas - Cauliflower bites - Tenderstem broccoli For meat lover, highly recommend the Pork Pibil which consisted soft, tender and juicy pulled pork. For vegetarian, I loved Halloumi Al Paster beautifully combined tomatillo and pineapple salsa. As they were very busy during lunch time, 3 of us were squeezed in a table for 2. Too many dishes too little space. As all the dishes came in one go, we had to stack the plates😂 Follow me on Instagram @ccgyozalover for more delicious food😋

This is a great Mexican restaurant with super friendly staff and fabulous food! There is a lift down to the basement level where the main restaurant is, which is a great addition for accessibility, however the doors downstairs don't open automatically and as there is no space to turn around in the lift, it was very awkward for me to get into the main restaurant in my wheelchair. Other than that though, we had a great experience. The staff were lovely, helpfully showing me to the accessible bathroom and discussing the vegan menu with us. The drinks were also amazing! 🍹

This place is amazing. We went there to celebrate my friend's birthday 🥳we had the nachos as a starter. It would be better if it was heated. I had enchiladas with chicken, it was tasty. I tried their Wahaca colada, the alcohol was there but it was weak on other ingredients. The staff is very friendly. They didn't pressure us to leave after 1,5 max stay rule. They charge a service charge😅 I paid £123 pounds for 4 people dining. their churros are phenomenal 😍 Worth going there, in a very good location, in Covent Garden😇💙💙💙💎

Great atmosphere you walk in from the ground floor and walk downstairs to a very Mexican themed restaurant. Staff were friendly and helpful and helped explain the different dishes and drinks. We ordered the favourites set menu and everything was great besides the seasonal veg which was undercooked and bit bland. But overall really good and would visit again. Thanks to Andre our waiter👏

For our last dinner in London we visited Wahaca in Covet Garden and was pleasantly surprised with the quality and reasonable prices. We had a late lunch so we just had drinks , nachos and taco and loved everything!! Highly recommended

Really nice place for good tacos and quesadillas, the margaritas (regular and picante) are good. The porc tacos (spicy and juicy) and chicken (perfectly cooked and grilled for a nice charred taste) are awesome. Special mention for the newly added roasted pineapple (spicy and sweet)

Attentive service, delicious and flavorful dishes loaded with fresh ingredients. Just what we were craving. We split the classic sampler plates and it was more than enough for 2. Also the caramel brownie was delicious. Cool ice cream with the rich warm brownie and caramel and nuts.

I wandered past here and smelled something wonderful! I looked at the menu and got very excited as I LOVE Mexican food and bemoan the fact that I cannot get any good and authentic Mexican food anywhere near where I live in Canada. Not only did the food taste fantastic, fresh and authentic, the price was realistic and as I spoke to the staff I found out how important it was to them to train their staff in proper Mexican techniques but also in sustainable processes. The beverages were also to die for; fruity and chilled! As a traveller I usually try to keep to local cuisine, but Wahaca is absolutely worth a visit for locals and visitors alike!

Great food, always an amazing experience! Definitely a treat. Try the plantain and feta tacos and the black beans and three cheese quesadilla, they're both a staple we get every time we visit. The corn ribs special and the croquettes were also amazing.

Great Mexican in London. Not as good as USA but great none the less. We did not make a booking yet they still got us in. Wife says best margarita she had ever had. Migel was a great server! Would eat here again

We had a hard time getting seat in a restaurant during the weekend in the Covenant Garden area... but surprisingly we got one at Wahaca with minimum waiting time and to more suprises the food and the service turned out to be awesome!!! Good food, cozy and warm with friendly staff. Do try the rainbow platter and the cocktails. If you are looking for bright and sumptuous dinner...I do recommend this place.

Incredible place! The only Mexican restaurant that I found Micheladas in London. The food is delicious and tastes like Mexican food (believe me, I am Mexican). Enchiladas have an exciting combination with rice and beans, and the flavour is exceptional. Definitely, I'll be back soon.

The service was amazing, attentive and very kind but the food was nothing special, kind of felt like a fast food even though the atmosphere is really nice. I can recommend the slow cooked brisket burrito which was really flavourful but the side of chips could also be more than 5 chips. The chicken bowl had 2 small pieces of chicken as the size of 2 fingers. The flavours were great but the portion size is ridiculous. It is kind of cheap for London prices but I think you can eat better at that price. Keep in mind they also charge you a service fee which you can remove if you ask for it.

Incredible dining!! Service was speedy (we told our servers that we had a show to get to soon), food was DELICIOUS, and generous portions. We recommend the set sharing menus, especially if you struggle to choose from an incredibly menu. Thank you for the strong vegetarian options too 👌

Wonderful. Vibrant colours and tastes. Tried the cricket (the insect not the sport) salsa - a first but not unpleasant experience.

The five of us had a lovely late lunch here on Sunday with a great service from all the staff, mainly by Andre who was amazing. One of us has a food intolerance and that was handled with care and respect. The food was yummy too, we had a lovely time!

Everything was almost good. The cocktails barely had alcohol in them. The food was okay but doesn't justify the cost.
