Vegan menu nowhere near up to standard. I'm sure a great restaurant for non vegans. I (vegan) went for my birthday with my boyfriend (vegan), mum and grandma (both non vegan). The service and general interactions with the staff were very good, the only Michelin star part of the restaurant really. We had the lunch menu, which had one option on for each course. We weren't offered the menu, just told that's what we were having. Having checked afterwards, the tasting menus were available but we weren't offered these. Other Michelin star restaurants have extensive options for vegans such as Pollen Street social. The vegan food was just nowhere near up to the same standard as the rest of the menu, clearly an afterthought. The first dish, the soup with melon spheres was seriously bland and very watery in taste and texture. The main was a risotto which was quite nice although nothing especially memorable, The desert was a roasted hunk of pineapple with coconut ice cream, marshmallow and a fantastically generic "happy birthday" chocolate. I'm a professional pastry (7 years in industry) and can say that this dessert was not only underwhelming in terms of the technical level you expect from a Michelin restaurant but also quite poorly executed.

From start to end everything was perfect, the welcome, the food, the waiters and atmosphere. For a 5 course meal, we felt the dessert to be the least favourite. Perhaps it was the richness of it, which felt overbearing. The one thing that truly was a let down, and for a Michelin experience not quite acceptable - were the toilets. There was a terrible terrible rank smell in the toilets which was just awful. They were clean but smelled. So for this reason I'm marking it down and giving it a 4 star.

For a 7 course tasting menu I thought the portions were incredibly small literally 1 spoonful. The flavours were nice but as a first tasting menu I won't be doing one again. Service was rubbish as we had a gift voucher it's one of those restaurants where you are ignored if you have a voucher and don't want the wine list. I had 1 drink and wasn't asked again if I'd like another. The only person that was good at serving was the guy doing the rounds with the bread. It was too dark and very hot. Would not visit again.

An absolutely stunning restaurant, which lived up to all expectations. Food was delicious and presented in a stunning way. Service and staff was truly exceptional, and made our experience special. Highly recommend this place.

Make sure you look for the entrance with the flowers surrounding the doorstep. After we stepped in, we were promptly greeted and taken to our table. Our server was polite, funny and professional. The food was amazing, and their house champagne was even better! They hit all the marks, and service was prompt.

We were using a gift voucher, and I was worried that this might mean we received less good service, but I was delighted to find I was wrong. Although reserving a table had been difficult/a hassle, when we eventually went, it was lovely. The staff were attentive and friendly, and the voucher had been logged on their system, so they knew which menu to offer us. Our meal was delicious, and the ambiance was perfect: comfy seats, pretty table decorations, cool air (it was a very hot day!) The washrooms were clean. We were offered still/sparkling water, which was an additional cost to the voucher, but I assume we could have asked for tap water. My only criticism is that my meal included what was described as ‘caramelised potato.’ It was a chewy dried out vegetable of indiscernible type. Definitely did not resemble potato. It was difficult to cut, and strange to eat, a little like eating a courgette which has been dehydrated. The chef might like to rethink that one. The dessert was delicious, a combination of apricot, almond and white chocolate. It also had blobs of white bread—which seemed to serve no purpose. The portions were small, this wouldn’t fill up a hungry diner (though plenty of bread was offered). This is somewhere to savour food and enjoy the experience. Definitely worth a visit.

Took my boyfriend for the Menu Gourmand 7-course tasting menu lunch and had a lovely time. Impeccable service, friendly staff, delicious food. I appreciated that there was a full vegan menu and we enjoyed the experience immensely.

An amazing and delicious culinary experience. The restaurant is stunning and the service is as good as it can get. They accommodated to all of our dietary requirements and went above and beyond. The Gnocchi to start was well balanced, hints of sweet and savoury flavours, great acidity and a perfect crunch. The Beef Fillet Rossini was cooked to perfection, the oyster emulsion elevated the dish and the gratin was just perfect. I opted for the Truffle Creme Brûlée for dessert, however it wasn’t to my taste as it was too savoury. However the consistency of the custard, and the caramel crunch was textbook. Kindly without request they removed the creme brûlée from the bill as the staff noticed that I didn’t finish my dessert. Overall it was a true moment to remember from the drinks to the amuse-bouche, the food and whole experience was faultless.

We got the 7 course tasting menu, was a gift from my boyfriend - my first time trying a Michelin star restaurant and I had the best experience. Everything on the menu was lovely but the red mullet was just out of the world - I checked with the waiter and apparently clams, wine and nori oil had gone into the sauce. Boyfriend liked the duck the most. We had tea and coffee afterwards, it came with small bites, for 7£ each it was very worth it. Ambience was also lovely, it felt cosy and thoughtful without being overtly swanky. Great service as well. 10/10 would definitely visit again.

Great experience! Service is good, the waiter is very friendly and explained on any ingredients of the dishes. They are also very attended to detail that they noticed and cleaned the bread crumbs I spreaded over the table. Food is also great. I like the Christmas pudding dessert the most. It has great texture with mascarpone and coffee ice-cream. The restaurant is not too noisy even it is full and there is adequate space between each tables. I definitely will visit again with my family next time!

The restaurant is in an impressive building and the interior is very pretty. The staff was immaculate and very attentive. I really recommend the tasting menu. Everything was explained clearly and the wine pairing was fantastic.

Delicious, beautifully presented food with incredible wine pairing. The somelier was so warm and welcoming and answered my questions on the wine without feeling rushed. The waiter was prompt and professional but delivered the dish a little brusquely and mumbled the description of the dishes which I it felt was unpolished and perfunctory considering how well tables in other areas were being waited on. My only negative comment would be that the bread provided was cold, which considering that it was being served with delicious butter would have been nicer to be served with warm bread, however when I asked the bread was warmed. I would eagerly recommend to my friends and family, but would suggest going a la carte, if within your budget, as the tasting menu portions were on the small side.

Gorgeous evening at Galvin La Chapelle for the tasting menu. Staff made it a wonderful experience, some of the best service I’ve ever experienced. Food was gorgeous, every dish was intriguing. Cocktails were also very good, better than some of the very expensive cocktail bars in London. We really enjoyed our experience and will be recommending this place to everyone!

We went here for our wedding anniversary and it was an extraordinary experience. Great ambience. They had a seven/five courses vegetarian menu. We went for seven courses and thoroughly enjoyed each and every course that was served. We did the wine pairing as well. The guy was quite knowledgable and knew his wines very well. The desert we thought was okayish and could have been better. Overall we really enjoyed the experience.

Fine dining is not something I'm particularly accustomed to but I've been lucky enough to eat at Galvin La Chapelle twice now. Both experiences have been a real treat. The building is stunning and steeped in history. The staff are professional, friendly and attentive. The food is amazing. I was advised, by a member of our group who had dined here before, to not focus too much on individual ingredients that I might tend to avoid (due to not liking them) and trust that everything on the menu tastes great. They were not wrong. The depth and flavour of all of the dishes was so stimulating. An absolute treat to dine here and an experience to remember.

Good food with nice atmosphere. Everything was 👌. The staff was very friendly and they explain to you everything you need to know and the most impressive was the somelier guy who know a lot of thinks about wines . The manager of the place was around there and he was coming to all the table to see if everything is ok and this is very rare nowadays.

Good food and service. Got there early and they endeavoured to get our table ready quickly so we didn't wait too long even though it was busy. Food arrived in a timely manner also.

Everything was amazing, the building is stunning with high ceilings. The staff is kind and very attentive and the food was delicious. The menu is quite expensive but I totally recommend it as an experience not for a basic lunch/dinner.

The staff were extremely welcoming and polite. It was my girlfriends birthday and they all wished her a happy birthday, which was lovely. Impeccable service and exquisite food. We loved it, a very special night.

Good pub food Firstly, the service was quite strange throughout - we were offered no description of any of the dishes served. We were kindly offered an explanation of the menu which went like “there is a tasting menu on the left and a a la carte on the right”, well… cheers for that. We had four different waiters and none of them made much effort to explain the food or to engage in any conversation (other than “are you enjoying the food?” which became a bit awkward after the third time of admitting that we weren’t…) The food was very mediocre. We returned the first house bread as it was stale and were immediately told it was baked fresh - well I’m sorry but I eat kilos of sourdough each month and it was not fresh - after much drama we got a “hot loaf” and that was actually great. The smoked fish starter and foie gras were very much in a pub food territory - underseasoned and forgettable. The risotto was undercoooked. The beef was passable. The crab lasagne was the only Michelin star worthy dish. Zero amuse-bouche or petit fours - very disappointing from a £150+ a head. The building is amazing but the decor and music resemble a pub. Having been to most Michelin starred restaurants in London, unfortunately we really don’t understand how this restaurant has retained their Star - it really should be a Michelin plate at most.

Excellent service and loved the interior. We were greeted by very friendly receptionists who took our coats and sat us down at our table. All evening, our sommelier was giving us great wine recommendations and our waitress was making sure we had everything we needed. The 3 course meal was delicious, and just enough so that you’re not too full or still hungry afterwards.

Delicious menu, sumptuous surroundings, fantastic service. I was taken here for a birthday treat, and what a treat it was! We thought about the a la carte menu, but the gourmand menu was too much to pass on. As you would expect at this level of dining, reach fish was perfectly balanced and wonderfully tasty. There is a vegetarian version, but only a few courses were different, and the veggie option was equally delicious. Overall a truly unique experience, and quite reasonable on the wallet for the quality.

A little bit overpriced, but it’s a star Michelin restaurant in London so it was expected. We had the 7 dishes menu, which was very good! Specially the fish, the mushrooms and the chocolate dessert with an original spicy touch. I didn’t enjoy that much the boudin, but it’s very personal. 😊😊😊

The best restaurant we’ve been to in terms of service and food! I’ve never met such attentive, professional and kind staff. The staff couldn’t do enough for you. We’ve highly recommended to friends and family. The food was delicious and such a lovely treat celebrating my partner’s birthday. We will be back.

We went for the Sunday roast lunch and everything was on point! Roast was delicious, the potatoes were done to perfection and the starters, duck 'cuba libre' was an absolute delight! We pair our wine with a carafe of red recommended with the roast and ended the meal with an almond based dessert. Vibe was 💯. Saw a lot of old money, so do come in your Ralph Laurens & Sunday dresses to be part of the aesthetics. We love the whole experience and will definitely come back to try out the dinner course.

This place is incredible. It's absolutely stunning and beautiful, every little detail is perfect. I would like to start my review thanking the waiters that took care of us tonight, the best and most elegant service we ever received. Every single waiter / waitress has been polite, they explained every dish to us, every single glass of wine has been explained properly. The food is on another level. This restaurant deserves more than 1 Michelin star. The best dish we tried was the artichoke soup. Guys, I usually don't like soups but if I could eat only one meal for the rest of my life, it would be exactly that soup. Also desserts were amazing, and the wine was spectacular. I strongly recommend this restaurant if you want to surprise someone you love, for very special occasions. I really don't understand negative reviews: if I could give them 10 stars, I would do it. I look forward to come back to this wonderful little gem in London and to try more dishes.

Service was very good. As with a lot of these reviews we had a voucher which was for Sunday lunch 3 course. Very different starters and mains to what I’d usually have but all very tasty. Servers all helpful and attentive

Everything was good but the portion was too small for the price that was £100 pp. The foods were excellent and staffs were professional and kind. The restaurant interior is a bit old though it has its own vibe.

We had the most brilliant welcoming experience here at GLC . The staff were helpful lovely and genuinely pleased to be hosting us . The food was stunning and the whole visit felt WOW ! I would recommend as a treat as we were not disappointed! Franco the Maitre 'De was a gentleman and his staff followed suit ! We really felt spoilt !

We discovered the Galvin La Chapelle via a Red Letter Day experience I won through my work. The experience from the very start was amazing, the service was sublime and whereas It was a busy, bustling London lunchtime it was very calm with plenty to admire about the restaurant as well. We had three courses from the experience and by the time dessert came around we didn’t even take a picture before tucking into it… the whole three courses was some of the best food myself and my partner have ever had. Fine dining at its finest. Please if you want a Michelin star experience in London then I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Delicious and fresh starter; the lasagne is very creamy and the scallop mousse is an interesting and special texture; the truffle stuffed chicken is very soft with well seasoned; last but not least the cheese plate and the dessert is fabulous. This restaurant deserves five star not only the amazing food, but the professional and very friendly staff. There was an issue with our payment but they dealt with it very well and value their customers. Thank you so much and will be back soon.

Beautiful restaurant based in an old Chapel. Worthy of the Michelin star. Menu Gourmand provided seven courses of perfectly paired food with enough quantity.

Honestly a great experience. Came for the 7 course menu and had a great time, our server Cain (Kane/Kayn?) was brilliant and hilarious. The 38 Day Aged sirloin was particularly 10/10.

Great atmosphere, food and service. Tried tasting menu with wine matching. Every dish was tasty and uniquely garnished with the chef's choice of ingredients. Wine matching was alright, wished the sommelier gave us more insights of wine he was serving. Overall Really enjoyed dining here.

Lovely friendly waitress, however the food was of a quality you'd expect at a good wedding rather than Michelin restaurant. Given the pricing, I'd hope for more. Beautiful building, though decor is the type of thing could my 10 year old would have chosen (he loves a large cuddly sheep!)
