A long standing Belgian style cafe in central London, I'm really glad it's still here. As it was my birthday yesterday we wanted to come here and celebrate with some special beers. They offer an extensive list of Belgian beers alongside a range of classic food. All the beers are served in their appropriate glasses which makes for a great presentation. We tried four beers and enjoyed everyone of them. Skip the pub and come here for a change you won't regret it

Just stopped by for a nightcap before heading in for the night. They have a great selection of brews, and prices were not bad at all. There server was friendly and prompt as well. I saw a lot of people eating, and everything looked first class. I am a bit sad we ate just beforehand, or we could have eaten here as well. Maybe next trip.

Visited Lowlander by accident. Saw the place near the theatre and decided to have a little snack before the show. We had some delicious Belgian croquets and BEER. The best selection I have seen so far! I am a huge fan of Belgian beer and the collection was mind blowing. The interior strongly resembles the traditional Belgian pubs and the vibe is really relaxing and unique. The place was really busy but the service was absolutely great and they managed to squeeze us in. Staff was super friendly and our waiters Ed and Rich were so funny! Price of beer was excellent even though they were super strong. We even came back after the show, had the best mussels and stayed until closing. One of the best nights of my life. Def coming back again.

Like Belgian beers? You’ll love this place. Enjoyed a few beers and food here and looking to return again. Stew and mussels were delicious and great beer selection. Was nice to find a place the sells one of my favourites on the menu - La Chouffe 🍻 Staff was very kind when we saw the bitterballen and asked for a change from croquettes. Something I’ve always enjoyed when going Holland.

Lil hidden gem I’ve never heard of - really fun and entertaining staff who had a good knowledge of the wide range of beers on offer. Was very impressed by the amount on offer. Stumbled across it on the hunt for beer and was then spoilt for choice. Want to come back with the boys. Many tourists seemed to be there and were eating full meals. We got some chips which were good.

Very friendly and accommodating team. Facilities are all good and most importantly they serve great food. Our party of ten tried a wide range of the menu without a single issue, every plate was empty. An interesting range of beverages too. Recommended!

We planned to come for a meal on Saturday evening (11.02.24) and as a group of 6 we tried to book the day before for a table. Initially we were told that bookings could not be taken over the phone and to book online. We attempted to do so but the email confirmation that was meant to have a payment link did not actually include a link to pay a deposit. We then called again on the day we were planning to come to be told that a booking could in fact be made over the phone. We were alerted to the fact there were no mussels but not that any other items were out of stock. When we arrived we were then told there were a 3 of the 5 starter items out of stock, which I know can happen, but meant that there were no vegan starter options. There were starters ordered to share with the rest of the table (non vegans) and no side plates were given even though we mentioned that they were for sharing. Whilst the server was pleasant enough we were not tended to regularly and honestly felt like we were more of a bother rather than being made to feel welcome. The food itself was OK, not terrible, but honestly the service was what let down our experience. At no point did anyone check if our food was OK or if we needed anything else throughout our meal. When we were paying for our bill we were then asked how our meal was and when we said it was average the reply was "that's heartbreaking" rather than asking what the problem was or how it could have been made better. Based on our experience I would not recommend any friends to come for a meal.

Super cosy and characterful Belgian cafe/bar in the heart of the west end. The friendly staff were super helpful with advice on the beers, the food was tasty and good portions. Great value for dinner - two courses and two beers came in under £30 per head. We will definitely be back. This is a superb find.

Great food, great atmosphere, service lacked a little but it was a busy so I'm sure it would be better on a quieter day. The beer selection is incredible, and the old Orval is actually cheaper than a lot of bars in Belgium. Mussels were very tasty, fish cooked perfectly. The triple cooked chips were a bit undercooked tbh.. I'd be surprised if they really were triple cooked, again I'll give them some slack as it was very busy.

Went in to get a quick pint while waiting to go to the theatre. Limited space to stand at the bar to order (I wanted to sit outside where there were free seats). Was in between a group of people who were quite intoxicated so moved up the bar to get served. A waiter told me to move even though I explained why I was standing there. Just went across the way to another pub and got served without issue. Reply to the response: Nowhere did I complain in my review about being served immediately? Happy to wait and I did ask your staff member who was greeting people at the door whether I could order at the bar. I simply made the point there is limited space to order at the bar (most bars will have a sign to say no ordering from this area), and on one side of the bar a group was drinking, taking over an area from which to order. Hence I moved up the bar to be then be told by one of your staff members to move back to where the group was. I'm not someone who would regularly leave a negative review unless I've had a genuine interaction. Maybe take it on board that your staff member made a paying customer feel like they need to leave. Maybe best to be table service only if you cannot have space to order directly at the bar.

Had the best grilled ham and cheese sandwich ever in this restaurant. They were out of fish and mussels. They informed us of that as we entered

If you like Belgian beer, you need to visit this place. They have a great selection and give you great advice on what to try. Only had drinks, so I can't say anything about the food more than it smelled good😄. A nice place.

Captures the essence of the Belgian cafe perfectly. Had a fantastic lunch here with great beers and friendly service. This would be a regular spot if I lived here.

What an amazing find in London! We stumbled on it before a show. Comprehensive range of excellent Belgian beers and many draught for 1/2 pint or 1 pint. Seriously recommend booking in advance as it gets busy, unsurprisingly. Excellent service and they have an app. We will be back very soon! .

I went in for a drink before going to another venue. Good selection of beer. Moule mariniere and burgers look delicious. I asked for a Diet Coke but got a normal coke instead. I had a few sips before realising the mistake. They changed for me without a problem. Venue looks cool. I would go again!

Just enjoyed a great evening here and upgraded my rating to 5*. Amazing selection of Belgian beers, and their 'Black & Blue' burger was so much better than then average burger you tend to get in other London pubs. Really friendly service, prices for premium Belgian beers as expected but not over the top.

Lovely pub, serving a large selection of Belgian beers (including gluten free & alcohol free) & excellent food. Highly recommend the Moules 😋 - mine are dairy & gluten free 🙂

Impeccable food and service. The lady who served our table was amazing and you could see that she enjoyed her job. She consistently recommended our colleague great beers.

Loved my visit, such a great choice of beers and had my favourite beer on tap (Kasteel Rouge). Food was lovely, staff were so attentive. Will definitely be coming back and recommending to friends.

Lowlander is always a delight to visit! The staff are friendly and efficient, and the food and drink superb! A great selection of beers - so many that there is a separate beer menu, which can make choosing rather difficult! Food is excellent - I've enjoyed the cheeseburger, the hot dog and the schnitzel so far, and have heard great things about the fish and chips, too. Food prices are very reasonable, with the main courses all coming in at under £20 (unless you opt for a sharing platter, but you would expect that). Last time we were in, we were lucky enough to be served by Joanna, who was an exceptional host, looking after us well. Totally recommend this place for a good meal and some great beers!

Good range of beers and nicely centrally located. Didn’t try the food but it did smell great.

Great Belgian restaurant just a few hundred meters from Covent Garden tube station. We had two different kind of mussels and they could not have been any better. The same can be said about the beers. Their vast collection of Belgian beers and delicious food is not to be missed. This goes on our list of must-visit restaurants in our future London visits.

Amazing atmosphere, large selection of beverages(alcohol free, soda’s and alcoholic drinks) and delicious food. There are also vegetarian options on the menu for non meat eaters. Staff are friendly and engaging. Plenty of seating; upstairs and downstairs options. I personally enjoy every time that I come in to the café.

We found this gem by accident & were very pleased we did. An amazing selection of beers, we tried quite a few. Food was good & both gentlemen were lovely. It was really good to see regulars turning up with their orders already known. Definitely will be back & ordering the cherry beer

Stopped in for the Belgian beer & food and wasn't disappointed. The beer menu is extensive; the food authentic. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Hope to return before the end of this trip.

Huuuge choice of all kind of beers. Even for me (not a beer lover), I could find the one I liked a lot from a diverse choice of fruity tastes. Would recommend this place to any beer lover!

I've been there with my family and huge group of friends. I have to state that I was amazed with speed and top quality of service provided. Standard of their food was absolutely fantastic and it looks that the kitchen Staff really know their job. Burger I had was absolutely perfect made from scratch. Also the choice of the beers was stunning and advice given to me by a bartender was irreplaceable. You could see that he had massive knowledge. If you go there for a beer only I would recommend to get one of their famous The Taster Beer-Stick.

Who said England food is boring? To be honest, didn’t expect much from this place due to several factors especially after the horrible customer experience we had earlier. We quickly found this place and good thing we did since this place is amazing. Great food and great customer service. What more do you need? As for the food, we ordered fish and chips and moules. I enjoyed the moules more due to its flavors but my wife gave them a massive compliment that it was the best fish and chips she had. Just a quick note: fries aren’t the best. Even the sweet potatoes so if you can, order a different side dish. If you are still contemplating on where to go, this is the place. If I am ever in London again, I will visit them again. Shoutout to the owner for his professionalism as he worked nonstop from cleaning tables, greeting customers and taking orders. Thank you for the great experience. Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Atmosphere 5/5 Cost: Great

Went in on a Friday night, lovely staff and the manager was the nicest! Fantastic food, especially the mussels. The mains were also really good, both the schnitzel and risotto. Will definitely go again, incredible service!
