I don’t really know from where to start, should I talk about the flavors, the texture the people the vibes? They are all 5 stars. Let me put it this way. If you ever pass by china town just go to bun house even if you are not hungry, go drink water or get some steam and leave but you must go there and say hi . This is one of the places in London that it can’t get wrong there. Absolutely delightful and delicious 😋.

I can and will rave about these buns all day. They have the cutest most amazing little to go bags with chopsticks !! 3 buns for £11 is very reasonable and the flavours were so so good that we went back for more ! So glad to have found this gem of a place. The buns are so fluffy and perfectly round and squishy. So cute !!

When we arrived there today, there was a queue. Disappointingly slow service as there was only one staff preparing and taking orders both from dine in and take aways. Prices for 4 buns are now at £11 and sadly, the buns were super small. On the other hand, the buns were super soft but not much filling on the inside. Kids approved. Hopefully more staff to serve the extra hungry customers who were in a loooong queue. Bun house accepts card payment which was convenient.

I like the place. Super cute. The buns are good, although the vegetarian one with vegetables being a bit sour and bun being a bit sweet kinda made no sense to me. But the staff were helpful and really quick. Really worth the try. I would defo recommend anything that is a desert because these were 🔝!

The buns were delicious. What a flavour!!! Very friendly staff and such quick service. The food is very delicious. We had two buns, beef and lamb. And decided to try milky ribs. The ribs were a bit sweet and tender. If you love buns, try this place.

Discovered this place while strolling in China Town. We were friendly, greeted on the ground floor, and then seated on the first floor overlooking the street. The menu is short and simple in both English and Chinese. Our waiter was very helpful and answered all of our questions. We ended up ordering 6 bao buns, we chose different fillings - veggies, chicken lamb, and beef. Buns are so fluffy and full of flavour. We also ordered pork dim sum, which was excellent. The shiitake and egg fried rice was so delicious. Beer was good, but they don't have a huge variety of non-alcoholic drinks. The place is a bit pricey, but food is definitely worth a try.

Food was great! Everything was tasty! Servings were quite small. Also, the seating is quite small/tight. Tables were small as well. But - food was definitely great!

It may be called Bun house, but there's so much more on offer than the delicious pillows here. The buns are great though, and there is a few to choose from. Beef, pork, lamb, chicken, vegetable and custard. Of the savoury ones, we preferred the lamb version. The custard ones are a must but beware, the custard is quite runny and an ill judged angle could result in an unwanted dousing of the bright yellow custard. This place is hugely popular at the moment, so expect a queue. We arrived just as it was opening and just bagged a table upstairs. We had beef, lamb and custard buns at this visit (the pork ones we had last time didn't blow us away) and we ordered the milk ribs, which we sounded interesting. They appeared like your standard Chinese ribs but it looked like they had been braised in a sweet milk to finish them. They were delicious and I could have easily eaten a couple more portions. We also ordered the silken egg rice, which roughly translated meant rice with soy with an omelette on top with prawns, chilli and spring onions. This is quite a simple dish but would recommend this to go with the ribs and buns. We also ordered the French toast with jasmine clotted cream. The French toast was quite standard but was lifted by the clotted cream. If you order take away they give you a pretty box with chopstix as a handle. This is a great place for a lunch in china town and we will definitely be back.

I was not very surprised about the milky bones, but the taste was good. The wonton was authentic, I could have another bowl! For people who don’t eat spicy food, I recommend ordering the non spicy one. The omelet rice was very silky and a nice mixture with prawns. The most amazing dish was the bun. We ordered the custard and pork. They were both very delicious and reminded me my childhood after school snack time. Oh, the plum juice amazed me as well. It was so refreshing when I ate the strong flavor food.

Amazing Taste. A simple menu to choose from, like beef, chicken, and lamb. I have tried the chicken and beef and custard one, which had a very sweet flavour. However I believe that it is a little pricey at an offer of 4 buns for £11, which I believe is a little too much. Overall, amazing experience, however, it can get busy at some times.

I tried the veg buns and they were delicious! Totally recommended. The prices have increased so now the 4 buns deal is £11 I also tried their new vegan plate “whipped tofu with vegetables”. It was okay, a bit pricey and it wasn’t mentioned that it’s spicy. The hoisin sesame rice noodles were very good. The place in general is very nice and food was brought very quickly.

The buns are really delicious. I tried the four meat varieties and all of them are great. I liked the pork bun most of all. The dessert bun with custard is also very nice to finish off. I ordered the buns take away and they prepared the order immediately which was a pleasant surprise. The dumplings were not available unfortunately though. Definitely recommend this spot to taste the buns. Update: on a second visit they had pork dumplings but not the shrimp dumplings. The taste of pork dumplings was good but what you get for the money is just three small dumplings so I am not sure it’s worth it really

I've visited a few times now and always been incredibly happy with the food and service! Everything I've had here has been so good, and I'm sure to come back in future. Just great overall!

This place is so hyped up and people are queuing to try the buns - so I finally managed to try them. The queue was not too long (15 mins or so). Overall the buns are too thick and too hard/dense and missing the softness that you’d want from the buns. Because of that, the fillings did not taste as powerful as they probably intended when ate together. All of the fillings taste great on their own and flavourings were nice. The egg sweet bun was interesting and definitely had the visual impact but didn’t have the flavour or the texture to match.

I am not even exaggerating when I say that I booked a train ticket to London while visiting Paris in order to get the buns from Bun House. The regular menu is pretty good, but the real reason to visit is the buns. One of my friends swears by the pork bun, but I think the must-get bun is the lamb bun. There is usually a line outside, but it moves quick and ensures that you are getting a hot fresh steamed bun. Also, if you get the custard bun, be careful because it will squirt you.

Although a place with very few seats it has its own atmosphere. I tried the chicken beef and pork signature buns and I was satisfied. It's filled with tasty filling and soft, moist bun. Overall I recommend it

A cute restaurant in the heart of china town. The buns are their best thing to try in my opinion, so flavorful and tender. Try for sure the 3 mix and get a pork, chicken and custard one as a dessert. They recommended us the milk ribs but was for me nothing special. The staff very friendly and the prices very normal.

The best custard buns! The filling just oozed out and the bun was freshly steamed, soft and fluffy! Very very tasty. Card payments only. There was a but of a queue but this moved quickly and there is some outdoor seating. Definitely will be coming back for more custard buns!

An amazing hidden spot in the busy China town! The shop has two separate sections - takeaway and dining in. The dining area is upstairs and booking is highly recommended, especially for a busy weekend. We ran quite a bit late (30min+), but the staff were very friendly and still kept our table. The menu was simple - a total of 10 dishes. We ordered 3 to start with. It was right amount for two people, but we could happily take another dish. The surprise was really the bun that comes with the pork belly - it worked so well with the meat and sauce. We ordered an extra and recommend to add that on at the beginning to avoid extra waiting time. The dessert and drinks were amazing! The price was on the slightly expensive side - 3 dishes to share, 1 drink each and 1 dessert each, it came out as £36 per person.

Overhyped and the custard buns we got were very lumpy. We queued for a long time only to find out inside the brown sugar one was sold out - why not write it outside? This was so different to my previous visit. I wonder if chef or management has changed. Also they didn’t have their normal boxes.

Very good buns and Food in General. Staff was very friendly and is located in a nice cosy building. Can recommend the milk ribs!?

A great option for lunch or dinner. We had dinner here £88 for four of us. We had 6 buns, one portion of har gau (prawn dim sum), fried chicken curry, cucumber and soy salad, milk fried ribs and French toast. Every single thing was amazing, so tasty and authentic and there is the option to eat in or grab your bun on the go. There isn't a huge deal of space upstairs but we didn't have any issue getting a table. My first portion of chicken curry was undercooked but it was changed quickly with no problem and the staff were incredibly polite and friendly. All in all a great choice.

We ordered takeout and went back again the next day for some more! We tried the veggie, pork, curry chicken, and egg custard bun. Some siu mai and cucumber salad. Highly recommend the buns. Each one of them was so good.

We went as a group of 4. The place is small and can often have a queue. We tried each of the meat buns and the pork was excellent. The wontons in clear broth was good too. The french toast was so good. Service was friendly and accommodating.

Good place for a quick bite to eat. Had a decent selection of buns and other dishes. I had 3 steamed buns and plum iced tea. The food is nicely presented and quick to be served but didn't exceed any expectations. Waiters were very nice and quick too. The shop is quite small so gets busy

Great bao - we had the “pig bun” and the veg bun. The pork was the best bun I’ve ever had. A great snack on the go. If you’re out for a drink in Soho, swap one round for a round of buns here. A very worth trade.

The best custard bun ever according to my better half, and I can't argue with that. Just excellent. The beef was somewhat disappointing but still good. The texture of their buns is amazing.

I went at 11:55 so I had to wait 5 minutes since they open at 12. I’m glad I went early because I didn’t need to wait in line. This place usually gets busy. I got the custard bun and the mushroom bun. I was amazed by how good it was. They were hot and soft. I’d 100% go again

Tasty buns and aesthetic clean feel. We had a variety of buns. It was a very long line and wait but worth it! When you come in, you can see the process of buns coming from the steamers. A small space but quick service. The server could have been more attentive.

Easy for take out, comes in cool little box, tastes reasonable, and the stamps on top look aesthetic. Fillings range from pork, beef, lamb, chicken, veg and a sweet option of custard.

A MUST WHEN YOU ARE IN CHINATOWN! Where do I start? The restaurant is so simple and unique, I love the colours! BUT the food!!! If you just want a snack or sit down - it's flawless. The buns are so fluffy and I love the varied flavours. The dumplings are just perfect!

  • 5/5 Kristiyan P. 1 year ago on Google
The buns are very tasty. Quite interesting. We tried the beef, chicken and custard ones. And I could say the beef one is my favorite. I am not from London, and for the past 6 months I have visited at least 6 times. And in which I have eaten at this place every time. If you want to eat inside there is a small service fee, if you want the food you can get it to go in sweet boxes. Every bun has a writing in Chinese saying what is inside of it. The whole district offers some amazing food choices.

Lovely setting but restaurant needs fans/AC. Dumplings and buns were delicious but we had to pay extra for soy sauce as they came without any sauce. Fried chicken was dried yet very fatty at the same time, some kind of dip would have been welcomed, watermelon was a nice touch but again a few more slices would have been appreciated. Short ribs were disappointing, overcooked and dry.

The Bun House had some absolute yummy and unique offerings. We got the pork, lamb, beef steamed buns— beef was our favourite. Also all the dim sum on their small menu was excellent. I would recommend the cucumber salad!! Great small place. We arrived just before the super long line up that extended outside their establishment. £50 for 6 steamed buns, 3 servings of dim sum, cucumber salad and 2 jasmine tea

We went here mainly for custard buns. They were nice and runny (my family enjoyed it); i am not a big fan of egg yolks so not too thrilled. I will go back for other things on the menu, which was looking extremely nice. The waiters there were nice and friendly. Really wanted to provide good service.

  • 4/5 Adam T. 1 year ago on Google
I ordered the pig bun and the custard bun. The pig bun was really nice but the only thing that let it down was the pork was a bit chewy. The custard bun flavours again were very nice but it was a bit floury. There was a line to order as expected however once inside the service was really nice and they were very helpful. There is a guide on the box to help you determine which bun is which if you have ordered more than one. A good afternoon snack for a very reasonable price

The best bao buns I’ve ever tried!! Such a gem to be found in London. There’s a high chance of you passing by unless you know how delicious the food is in this place. Highly recommended. Especially, veggie and custard buns. The restaurant is super cosy and it has two floors. Plus the Bun House team is very friendly and attentive to guests. Wonderful experience ✨
