Fantastic place to visit if your into aviation. Many exhibits of full size aircraft through the ages. Very clean and well laid out with toilets and lifts. Good well stocked shop selling books, toys, flying garments, etc. Could keep you busy for a few hours. Free entry just pay for the car park. Booking essential. Would definitely return when I have more time.

This is a really good museum to visit. We went on a Saturday afternoon. We booked a slot using the museum website; entry to the museum is free. I also purchased tickets for the Red Arrows 4D show (£16 for a family of 4, and the last show is at 3.30pm). The 4D show was worth it.. the staff here are super friendly and will happily spend time with you explaining the history behind the exhibit you're in. For the museum itself, it's got multiple hangars housing various aircraft. H1 is the first building and houses a Red Arrow, F35 Lightning and so on.. H2 is more focused on early age aircraft. H3, H4 & H5 are the best ones.. housing the majority of the jet aircraft. Its a really good experience as the aircraft on display are in amazing condition, unlike those on the Intrepid in NYC where the cockpits have been painted over. That said, you get to actually peer into the cockpits of multiple aircraft, the F4 being my favourite. All in all this is an amazing day out with the family, allow yourself at least 2-3 hours to see everything. Parking is reasonable (£7-10) also, and you have to pay this before you leave H1. Simply put, I'd go back again.

Great day out for the family. Lots to see and do for all ages, plus great playground for children to explore. Toilet facilities were adequately maintained. Parking costs were reasonable (for London) and the venue is outside the Ulez zone. Bad points were that several displays weren't working or had no sound and that the cafe was extortionate. £6.50 for a basic cheese sandwich! The gift shop had a good range of products at a varying price range. If you bring a packed lunch then this is a great day out.

My group and I had a fantastic experience here yesterday, largely due to the fact that the staff were incredible. They were friendly and accommodating, going above and beyond. Our experience felt like we were VIPs - special thanks to Russell for his hospitality. After the museum closed, our group attended the after Hours Battle of Britain Tour. Then at 7-8pm we attended the candlelight concert under the plane in hanger 1 which was a great end to the visit. Lovely venue, experience and staff

Wow! This is so much more than I thought I will find visiting Royal Air Force Museum. The volume of collected exhibits is simply put, impressive. Kids will find so much to see and to learn about, that one visit may not be enough! It is certainly worth considering donation to places like these, as learning about past would be so much harder without it, that I can not even imagine. Obligatory point on your itinerary map when visiting London and have some craving for learning history.

Probably one of the best free entry museums in London. Extremely well run, clean and a fantastic display of aircraft! The restaurant outside is spacious and reasonably priced compared to other centrally located museums. 100% recommend this for a day out with the kids, or if you’re an aviation fan, it is a must-see.

If you're an aviation enthusiast in London, this is the the only RAF museum in the city where you can not only get close to the real thing but sit in one too. The best thing about London museums is that like most of them, its totally free. You only have to pay for the parking which is very minimal. Your only job is to enjoy the vast collection and figure out that how the hell did they manage to cram the mighty Vulcan bomber in that place?

Excellent place, great for kids. Even the food in the cafe was quite alright. Lots and lots of gift ideas on the air force theme. We tried the 4D experience of flying with Red Arrows and the flight simulator. Both were fun, really good for kids. My only gripe would be that the displays are not set up for photography, the lighting and setup is only good viewing. You can see what I mean in my photographs. it's a nice fun day out if you want to go out with family. Children will learn a lot and enjoy the place. About 4 hours is a good time for a visit, including a break in the cafeteria. They have a big parking but it's paid so keep that in mind. You will need to book the parking in advance from their website. The museum itself is free to visit.

It's free to visit! Staff are very friendly and helpful. Book slot online during busy periods, but I noticed some did just turn up during term time. Highly recommend a donation to help keep this place going. Great for toddlers, there is an outdoor playground to run around in. Some height/age restrictions for the paid simulation for example. Free stationary rides to engage the imagination of little ones and photo opportunities for parents. We walked round it all with our 2 & half toddler and 6month baby in tow, so I would say very baby friendly. Clean toilets and baby change. Pram friendly. Wonderful restaurant, with lots of options for even the fussy eater, like pizza etc. but a bit pricey, but I guess that's London prices. Parking is not free, but plenty of transport options if you want to avoid driving there, met a mum of two who came from Brent Cross. Great day out for schools as well, saw a couple of classes visit while we were there. Just FYI check Blippis video of his visit as my son recognised everything he covered in video. Half day is enough to walk around all the hangers and give the small ones a good run around the wonderfully themed playground. Just wish we lived round the corner to visit more often as he slept like a log on the way home.

Had a great time at the museum. If you like military airplanes and history it’s a must visit. We got a tour about the place with a gentleman called Stephen. He was very knowledgeable and passionate and we got to see a lot of things we would have missed if we went just by ourselves. There was no cues for tickets or in the guest shop and we bought our tickets at the gate. I would suggest you need the whole day to look around if your very interested in the finer details of the displays.

What a stunning museum. Cannot fault it in the slightest. All the planes that I had read about from a small kid to now being a big kid where here!! The quality of the exhibits were fantastic, nothing looking or feeling tired or decrepit. Even the shop was good with quality items instead of rubbishy tat (spent £50+ in there🙄). Absolutely going to be visiting again soon, Battle of Britain exhibit opening mid September. Thank you RAF👏👏👏.

A great museum and well worth a visit for anyone into flight or military history. It's probably not the best place for younger kids, they've made a huge effort to make everything interactive but it's harder for little ones to appreciate everything without the context (and you kinda don't want to give them the context yet). I loved it myself though and it's amazing to see all of the aircraft and really get a sense of size and scale of them.

Lovely museum and wonderful to see so many historical aircraft on display. Staff friendly throughout. Despite free entry, no queues to get into the various hangers etc. Great history behind each aircraft. Very educational for children as well. Plenty of car park spaces. Cafe and gift shop a little see on the expensive side.

Absolutely amazing place!! I've been to quite a few aircraft museums, but this is my best yet! And it's free!! Car park is fairly reasonable for London too. Spent pretty much the whole day there, wondering around and could have taken longer if I really wanted to. I'd suggest booking tickets ahead as it's way easier and won't have a chance of missing out. Also, plan ahead with the timings as they have some talks about some planes at certain times. Huge selection of planes from all over the world and eras. One of the best parts is that a number of them you can go in and have a look around and get a real feel of them. I payed extra for the spitfire experience and was best thing I have done, £25 is expensive to some people but it's a real once in a life time opportunity to sit in a real ww2 fighter that not everyone gets to do.

Great visit. Had a wonderful time exploring the Hangars. H3-H5 is a must visit. H6 also has on display of some of the fighter jets used during WWII and will make you go aww. I would also recommend booking the tickets in advance to check in peacefully. They also have a restaurant serving pizzas. Slightly expensive though. Overall a memorable one.

Excellent place to visit with kids. It is a great display of iconic warplanes, and a lot to do. Well run and organised. Free entry, however, the car park charges £7.50 for 3 hours, which is reasonable. The restaurant and the cafe are also well-priced. I highly recommend visiting.

Great collection of aircrafts / bombs / missile spread across six hangers, and it's free to enter. Great place for a day out, you can easily spend 4-5 hrs here. In case you want to drive there, they have massive car park.

I have just spent a wonderful few hours here with three grandsons 16, 13 & 12 . I was looking for somewhere to go while we were waiting for my granddaughter who was in Peel House . I was so impressed with it all . Totally well planned re covid measures well done to you all . We will return with the rest of the family for sure. The only thing I would have brought and feel your merchandise department missed ut on was selling the fabulous mask. with the RAF symbol on that some of staff were wearing ! thank you for a great day

A nice museum with plenty of real planes, models and flights equipment. The route in the museum can take an hour, while all the exhibitions are in four main buildings. The museum itself is free, payment just for the parking. It's a nice place to take the kids or go for a nice and interesting attraction. No many shops near by, but there is a small cafeteria inside. Worth to bring some take away for lunch. Enjoy :)

Amazing museum...free entry and plenty to see! Great for kids but I was utterly enthralled also! Lovely outside play area plus a large cafe with both inside and outside seating. So many planes to see and information to read about them. Everything running well with COVID measures in place. Highly recommend and will visit again!

Very nice place to visit and it’s free entrance. Parking is £5 for 2-3 hours I think There are 6 areas(buildings) and one play area~ we only visited H1 and H2 as it was raining, it does get busy. Very interesting for the kids too they have some games too…

A dream museum for military history and aircraft buffs. The museum is a treasure trove of combat aircraft since the advent of flight with many classic prop and jet propelled types to savour. If you have a genuine interest in the RAF and aviation history you can easily spend the whole day here as there's a lot of interesting information to read accompanying the exhibits. It took me 5 hours to get through most of the exhibition halls and even then I didn't see everything. Will happily return one day to see the rest of what I missed.

Very well set-out museum, and very spacious. A lot to see and entertainment for toddlers upwards. Wisely gets you to consider the morality of warfare. You could easily spend more than a day here, although my son and I got around it in about 4 hours, even though we went into some of the specific exhibitions. Fantastic, and free!

A must see museum for those who appreciate the engineering marvels of this world. Great display and set up, amazing pieces of the aviation history are being arranged in different halls and periods in history. The experience is one of a kind! Seeing these planes in their real dimensions is definitely worth it, the designs are inspiring.

A small kids playground also inside and lods of places to sit and eat (inside and outside). Very good overall.

Blown away by this incredible place- AND IT’S FREE!!! If you or your kids are remotely interested in aircraft & the history of the RAF or just fancy doing something different- go check this out! Hangar after hangar, building after building of every air raft you can think of. Good quality on site cafe, restaurant & shop, loads of outside space and a cute kids play area.

I am a big fan of ww2 aircraft, seen only in movies and read in books before my visit to the RAF museum, London. I was so excited to see allies and some axis aircraft and I have visited with joy and full of energy. Get planes and information at display. Highly recommended.

A very interesting & well-managed museum. Entrance to the museum is free (open from 10 am). They accept donation. Better to book online before coming. Very recommended to go there with family or friends. So many knowledge and history to learn. They have 6 hangars, some activities you can enjoy with affordable price (£5 per person or £16 per family of 4), a nice restaurant, a cafe, an outdoor children playground, etc. Every hangar is clean and tidy, the toilets are also clean.

The staff's knowledge and enthusiasm added to the overall enjoyment, creating a memorable outing for aviation enthusiasts and casual visitors alike. Highly recommended for a captivating exploration of military aviation's rich heritage.

An incredible, interesting day out. I visited the aircraft museum with my boyfriend as he has a passion for war planes and aircraft. The experience was great, all the staff were very friendly and informative and knew their stuff. It's the kind of place you can go to many times and never get bored of. The only slight negative is that some of the hangars close at 4:30 everyday so it's best to take a visit in the morning or early afternoon to ensure you see all the incredible jets. My favourite get is the Blackburn Buccaneer they used in the Gulf war in Hangar 6. Beautiful piece of machinery. Love this place and 100% reccomend!

Impressive museum. Everything is very clean. Amazing staff. Beautiful playground for children.Very informative and friendly staff.Great place to go on a day out suitable for all ages and buggy friendly. Free entry, but parking is chargeable capped at £10 I think. Has a large car park. Entry though main department where you have a shop and a cafe a few planes and interactive bits for you and the kids, then there are 5 out side building that show different periods of time and a cafe and a small play park. Building 3/4/5 are all the same building and the best one to visit in my opinion. Cafe outside serves proper food but £11 roughly a meal so if you want to save cash bring a pack lunch.

The museum offers a very quality time spending for children, adults, war veterans or people that worked, working in aviation. You can spend a good amount of time walking, taking pictures or reading the different articles. The staff is nice and helpful. You can get aboard of a plane and see it they looked in the older days. The museum has a snack and coffee bar. Parking in front of the museum with plenty of space. With public transport depending from you come the closest bus stops are Royal Air Force Museum bus stop dropping you right in front of it or Cherry Close bus stop on Bristol Avenue, from here it's a 10 minute walk.

Our family's first visit to RAF museum London , also first day out post Covid 19 lockdown period, we had a great time. Super interactive from start to finish.Engrossing for any age from toddlers to grownups. History of RAF, recent times, exhibition (currently Battle of Britain) - all distinctively laid out. The plane-themed playground is compact but well laid out. Plenty of parking, you can pay for parking in advance too. Entry to museum is free. Covid wise : super hygienic, all touch points were frequently wiped, entry controlled, numbers ticked on entry and exit from every Hanger. The cafe offers take away and plenty of sitting well spaced out in open. Sanitizing points at all the points including the cafe and playground. Some of the interactive zones and activities are closed currently like stimulation activities or climbing steps to touch and feel the planes from inside, costumes not allowed. It was fun, despite these restrictions. We spent around 4.5 hours in the museum.

Some amazing planes here. Particularly liked the Lancaster, Battle of Britain Spitfire, and the evil looking 109. If I could give one criticism, I'd of preferred more reading material, and better placed beside some of the pieces.

Loved this museum, plus it's huge! Or at least a lot bigger than what I thought... There's an insane amount of planes, 6 big hangars with different types. Also on a sunny day the little parks outside the hangars are great for a picnic. A museum for everyone, and if you like aeronautics than it's great!

As good as ever. They have implemented a good one way system, and limiting numbers making it not feel crowded, and safe. Plenty of sanitising stations. Just be prepared not to be able to bumble around bouncing from one exhibit to another. Due to the one way system we saw things this time, that we have missed previously.

A must if you love aviation. It’s also free to enter, donations are warmly received. Many examples of old and new aircraft and vehicles on display. A great play area for the kids too (under 12s). Car park charges (at time of review) 0-3hrs £5, 3-5hrs £7. Book before your trip to aid in COVID measures as they don’t want to exceed number of guests on site. See their website to book. Enjoy!

Always has been a good museum, But now it's been upgraded, it's fantastic. Lots of interactive activities for all ages, Great place to learn or just browse. The only thing the museum has got wrong is not charging an admittance fee, I suggest £1 for adults, free for under 16's No-one would mind paying a pound, And the extra revenue could be used to purchase more exhibits. 🥂

Absolutely amazing, lots of aircraft with good information boards too boot (they are lacking in some places but the abundance of information videos with first hand experience speakers helps to fill the gaps). The shop on the other hand is a slight let down their wasnt as much stuff as before and it felt more targeted at smaller children (which is fine as long as it doesn't take over a shop) but in general the staff were friendly and the displays amazing and interesting and we had lots of fun walking around and marvelling at the planes.

This is a firm favourite with the kids. Lots of interactive and informative displays, plenty to see across the 6 hangars and exhibitions. The aircraft are amazing and the museum has definitely got better over the years. Large on-site car park (£5 for 3 hours). Clean facilities, friendly staff, children’s outdoor play area. Free admission, but you can donate and there are lots of donation stations dotted about. Food and shop are as expensive as you would expect at a museum.

This place is really cool! It a FREE place to go in London that not far from colindale tube station. As a plane fan, it's really cool. They have different planes from all countries based around WW2 and WW1. They have a spitfire wing, bombers, a 'beginning to the RAF' hanger and the WW1 hanger. When we went the museum had a crazy golf themed as planes. There is a park for kids, 2 cafes, interactive games and videos to watch.

Fantastic day out! Loads of parking. You can get discounted parking if you pay online in advance. Or you can pay when you leave. Tickets You need to pre-book tickets but I booked these 18hrs before we went. Tickets are free but I tried to spend money while at the museum to support the museum. Nice gift shop lots of items. Very accessible site, I went round with a buggy, lifts and ramps available throughout. Cafe in hanger one is OK but the Hendon cafe which is further into the museum is bigger and has more variety of food. They do good hot food at fairly reasonable prices for London. Lots for kids to do, they have fantastic mini planes for the kids to play in while you are reading about the real life plane. Lots of interactive displays. Highly recommended visiting. Great variety of planes and helicopters all in amazing condition. Also from a range of countries mainly UK but lots of German and others from other nations. They are also presented in a fantastic way allowing you to see in many of the cockpits and many are hung from the ceiling which is really cool.

I visited the museum on a Monday lunchtime, it wasn't busy. The entrance is free (you have to pre-book a slot online). The museum has a lot of interactive activities, several flight simulators and small planes that children can get into. There is a lot of exhibits that are thoroughly described, you can look inside of some of them. A lot of exhibitions of uniforms, and memorials of aviation heroes. The museum is divided into sections, you can find a cafe there, they serve good coffee, and some food. There is a great playground by the cafe, there are big planes, cars and a house that children can go inside and climb onto. Both inside and outside of the museum is kept very clean. The staff was kind and helpful.

Great day out. A nice mix of aircraft, bombs, missiles and other exhibits. Even though it was busy, there was more than enough space to maneuver around. Definitely worth a visit. If there was 1 thing that could be better, it would be that there should be more interactive things for kids especially and some video showing the history of the items on show or showing them in service. Doesn't take away from the fact that this is an awesome museum!

This is popular with kids and adults, so many interesting hangers with several you can interact with, and I've lost count of how many times we have been. I highly recommend it, and my little ones love it. Free to visit, for peace of mind you can pre book tickets but not essential, but you do need to pay for parking. If it's your first time, give yourself a few hours. There is a cafe there and places to eat a pack lunch. Great little play area if the weather is dry.

I had a fantastic experience at the Royal Air Force Museum in colindale ,London! The museum was clean, well-organized, and had a wide range of fighters aircraft. The staff were friendly and helpful, making my visit even more enjoyable. Plus, the prices to enter were free , and I found some great fighter aircraft that were used in past wars. Overall, it was a pleasant and convenient trip, and I'll definitely be returning to RAF Museum in the future. Highly recommended!

Visited for the first time in a few years with the kids. Wasn't too busy when we arrived but the car park was almost full by the time we left at 1pm after around 3 hours. Still an excellent trip out with some fantastic exhibits and interesting stories. If the weather is good there is quite a neat playground for the youngsters (under 12's) to burn of some energy. The reason for the low rating is down to the number of exhibits either not working or broken.

Great family day out over half term. An amazing free attraction with lots of fascinating and interactive exhibits, great facilities including food and play areas. Can't reccomend highly enough to other families. Staff were enthusiastic and friendly throughout. We will definitely be coming back. Thanks for a great day out.

It’s not a place, it’s a dream. It preserves a collection of aircraft like nowhere else, from the first fabric planes to jets, of every size and type. There are provisions for every need, such as a cafe and playgrounds for kids. The volunteers are kind and helpful. The museum can be reached by tube and a 10 min walk. You can’t miss this experience

Great place to visit, it's free (by donation, you can donate any amount at any time around the facility to help sustain it), lots of interesting things to see, a lot of history and great for kids as well (in fact there were many families there and there are many things also souvenirs of of kids). It is good to reserve a time on their website just in case and go with some good time to explore everything, especially if you want to read all the information and are interested in war vehicles, helicopters, artefacts... We had a great time there!

Lots to see and learn, great for kids. They take social distancing very seriously with one way systems and hand sanitizers at the entrance of every hangar. The staff are friendly and helpful too.

Visited during COVID-19 restrictions. It was more of a walking sightseeing day rather than the full interactive experience due to COVID-19 restrictions. Many interactive facilities were shut, including the stairs up to look inside the planes and simulators. Some very cool planes to see but in my opinion not enough massive planes. Those were absolutely the highlights of the visit

The covid protocols didn't detract from the experience. I've been to the RAF museum many times and it improves all the time. I took 2 of my grandchildren for their first visit. They both loved it and I'll be taking them again soon

Fantastic free (apart from car parking) fun afternoon. Wonderful displays, amazing information and brilliantly restored plane's, helicopters and all things RAF.

Cracking museum. Currently free to visit. They have taken the Covid situation seriously, well worth booking a time slot. Allow around 2 to 3 hours to take in the six hangers. Currently, you only need to wear a face covering when inside the museum gift shop. Other wise just follow social distancing, etc. Went with my 2 sons, they also loved it.

Awesome morning out at RAF museum Hendon. Our son is autistic so towards the end of the visit he did start to struggle with how much there is to take in. However, the staff all autism trained and really tried to help throughout our visit. A special thanks to Vanessa and Tracy who both went above and beyond, plus a fair few others who helped make the day. A one way system is in place and multiple hand sanitizer stations. The vast majority of people did stick to 2 metres.

Vampire, Vulcan,Lightening,Spitfire... they're all here, a real treat if you love aircraft..well managed COVID measures (some exhibits were closed sadly for this reason) shame as they looked really good. Easy walk from Colindale tube syn or plenty of parking.

Great place to take children. Entry is free, but plenty of opportunity to make a donation at the contact less points around the buildings. Plenty of knowledgeable staff around to answer questions. Massive car park. Lots of aircraft on display, unfortunately due to Covid there are fewer hands on exhibits for the younger ones, but our grandchildren were happy to look at the old aeroplanes and helicopters. Well worth a visit.

First time going to any museum since lockdown has eased. The hole day was safe and easy. The museum has being mapped out so there's is plenty of room to socal distance but sill be able to enjoy the exhibits on show, and there is lots on show. The added bonus is the out space. There is a large green that you can have a picnic on and there is a cafe if need be. There also is a very well thought out children's playground. All in the day was very enjoyable and recommended ?

Came here with my family we really enjoyed it here. So many planes to look at my kids loved it.Plenty of hand sanitised stations around and you have to wear your face masks only inside but that wasn't a problem. Lovely area to sit and eat your food shame about the cafe. It was about 2pm they had no hot food all they had was crisps ,kids sandwiches which was only half a sandwich and salad. Very disappointed with them they should have been well stocked with food with the amount of visitors they get. The had a menu up but they had nothing left. Bring your own food or visit a McDonald's.

Such a pleasant surprise! This place is amazing. You only pay car parking (up to 3h is £5 and up to 6h is £7 as of August 2021) and you need to book tickets for crowd control/ Covid purposes. But once inside there's so much to see and do. The playground is so fun with the planes turned into slides and helicopter into climbing frame. Plenty of space to eat your own food or cafe and restaurant to buy from there. The 4D cinema was horrible, couldn't see anything from the movie but the flight simulator was a lot of fun. Definitely planning another visit!

Shouldn’t knock a free attraction really but in this case I’m going to. Was last here 15 years previously & there was a great interactive section where you could drop bean bag bombs into a basket from a plane running along a track on the ceiling, and another where you floated a ball with an air gun to control it into a basket etc. Was a great way to round off a visit here. Why have you got rid of it? :(

Visited today. Not been for a few years. Quite a few changes. Aircraft added, some removed. Miss the Battle of Britain hall. Everything from there has been spread around so focus is lost on this important part of history for the RAF. Having said that, it's still an enjoyable place to visit and it's free.

Amazing array of RAF equipment, history and information from 100s of years!!! Very well presented and plenty hands on touch, hear and feel for the more "jumpy" children! Needs plenty time as there are 6 larger hangers to walk through!

Very good it is well laid out in generations and ease for the children to understand. It's free to enter but you pay for the car-park. Also after walking around the various hangers there is also a play area

  • 5/5 Katherine C. 2 years ago on Google
Entry was free. Had interactive screens with games to play or to use your skills to see if you could be a pilot. The collection includes planes through the ages. Only draw back is the restaurant doesn't start serving food until 11am and the cafe which serves tea and coffee and pastries is very full most of the time. Overall worth a visit and staff are friendly

Visited mid January 2022 and the place was super quiet, more parking than you could shake a stick at. Went with a friend and 2 2 year old who loved it. Plenty for young children to see and interact with. Really enjoyed it myself too as my first visit for 30 years, and a lot has changed, grown and improved in that time. Aircraft enthusiasts and children will love the many aircraft and exhibits to be viewed here. There are plenty of areas to relax outside the hangars and the grounds are clean and well kept. Young kids will love the aircraft themed playground. From a Tiger Moth to a Typhoon fighter jet there is a huge amount of aircraft and vehicles on show here. I recently had the pleasure of visiting the RAF Museum on a pleasant Saturday afternoon, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. The weather was perfect, and to my delight, the museum wasn’t crowded, allowing us to explore at our own pace. We began our adventure by exploring hangars 1-5, which housed an impressive collection of aircraft and exhibits. The museum did a fantastic job of showcasing the rich history of the Royal Air Force, with informative displays and well-preserved artifacts. As an aviation enthusiast, I found it fascinating to learn about the various aircraft and their role in shaping aviation history. One highlight of our visit was the playground, where our daughter had an absolute blast. It was a great addition to the museum, providing a fun and interactive space for children to enjoy while parents can take a moment to relax. The fact that the museum caters to families with such thoughtful amenities is truly commendable. Although we didn’t have the chance to enjoy the food on-site, I appreciated knowing that it was available. If we had arrived earlier, we would have definitely considered trying it out. However, since we had already eaten beforehand, it wasn’t a necessity for us on this occasion. Overall, our visit to the RAF Museum was a memorable one, and we left with a desire to return. The museum’s extensive collection and well-curated exhibits offer a captivating journey through aviation history. With the added bonus of a pleasant atmosphere and the playground for children, it’s a perfect destination for families. I highly recommend visiting the RAF Museum, and if you can, try to arrive early to fully take advantage of everything it has to offer. I’m already looking forward to my next visit, eager to explore the other hangars and delve deeper into the fascinating world of aviation.

A wonderful reminder of how much the RAF have contributed to the safety of our island. Fantastic for children without being condescending to adults, there is a history for ever age and perspective. They have one of everything! If you've heard of a plane used by our armed forces, it's probably here. I love Harriers and Tornadoes, and one hangar contains both. The staff are great, very friendly and informed. I loved directions given in terms of the planes - "keep going past the Lancaster and turn left at the Phantom." The restaurant is a little pricey, but remember that entrance is free and this place deserves our support. Plenty of parking.

This amazing museum for aviation buffs is located on the outskirtsof London. Huge, well done displays and so, so many airplanes...my husband was in his element! They have a pretty good cafe for lunch as well.

Such a brilliant day out learning about the different aircraft used between 1918-2018. Seeing the Lancaster was jaw dropping, the sheer size of the plane and the bomb itself was incredible. There were interactive parts throughout the hangers which the kids loved (so did I) and it was great being able to go in some of the aircraft and have a moment of reflection. The parking was reasonably priced as was the restaurant. Overall it was a good day out and I would recommend.

Brilliant museum with an enormous range of military aircraft through the ages including icons like the Spitfire and Lancaster bomber made famous by the Dam Busters. There are some challenging interactive exhibits such as piloting a drone. It's free but worth booking a place during busy periods.

It’s a bit out of the way from central London, but when you get there you won’t be disappointed with the collection of aircraft in there. The collection ranges from the early days of the RAF to their current times. Love the fact that admission is free as well.

  • 5/5 Alex F. 3 months ago on Google New
Had a lovely visit to the RAF museum with my family, the amount of history on display is breathtaking, from the bleeding edge of tech to the first ideas of flight. A lot to see and a lot to read, we spent about 5 hours in the museum which takes you on a journey through the RAF. There is a café on site which does a variety of hot food, drinks, bottled beers and snacks. Considering this is free to enter and parking is the only thing you need to pay for, it's an ideal day out. I'd recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment.
