Hard to review a venue without reviewing the show you saw there. We saw Marcus Ryan, and although we have seen him before, this show was superb! The best we've seen. Funny and emotional. The venue handled the crowd well and though there was quite a queue at the bar, it was served quickly.

Wonderful place. Lovely cozy mini museum underneath the big one, with a wealth of unique comedy artefacts and history, regularly putting on some of the best comedians to be seen in an intimate (50 person?) room. Lovely bar, too, and the staff are wonderful people. Can't recommend more.

Stumbled upon this place by pure chance. I was with my sons for a night out in the centre of London and decided to try a stand up comedy show offered at this venue. My eldest son was very apprehensive about the whole thing, but after some persuasion gave it a go. The act was Ms Anna Mann and she/he was fantastic, my boys had a great laugh. Thanks.

Very interesting place. We were there for a private party with use of the bar (bar staff very quick, professional and friendly). The venue was laid out with lots of small areas, old church pews and quaint seating and so much memorabilia to examine - both on the walls and in cabinets and displays. Lots of posters of great comedians, books, nik-naks, larger ornaments and models. On a slightly negative side, perhaps, the venue is a little dark and is perhaps a little small for big parties, because of the layout (check recommended numbers with the venue). It's definitely different and makes for an interesting place to visit. Nearest tube: Holborn

I love this little venue for just how relaxed and friendly it is. Been several times for both established and new comedians, often trying out new material. The Monday Club is especially good with up to 12 (yes, twelve!) comics doing short sets!

A quiet, little gem containing a variety of comic history memorabilia, books and more, especially including the comedy shows in a very intimate space. I see it not only as a performance space for Work-In-Process performers, like Bill Bailey, but also for newbies and others who want to share/practice their art. And tonight, an engaging bartender.

A nice museum with comedy memorabilia. Plus shows and workshops. The free comedy shows on Monday evening are great.

I was there to hear Dominic Frisby's lecture on gold, which was very informative and entertaining. The venue itself was quite interesting with a nice bar for refreshment.

It is a quirky place that is an ideal venue to hold comedy events. The staff were polite and courteous. It holds a goldmine of comedy material. We went to see Marina Joy and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

I am totally biased about this venue, as I have just performed in cabaret there! The staff and management were very helpful in my securing an evening there, and all acts and booking links are advertised online through the Leicester Square Theatre organisation. There is a marvelous cosy bar with tables, and the main room can also be laid out as a cabaret room, or with rows of seats. The foyers are brightly decorated with posters and photos of famous comedians as well as the fascinating history of St George's-- the Museum is located in the roomy crypt. The bar remained open until 11 on my evening, and I would enjoy coming back to see some of the stand-up comics who strut their stuff here. At a dirt-cheap price for admission! Rex in the City

Fabulous venue and really enjoyed it. It's decorated with loads of comedy legends on the wall. The performance space is small and perfectly formed.

Saw some pretty disappointing improv here. It felt like it never got out of first gear but maybe it just wasn't my comedic cup of tea. The host/MC was great but the theme decided by spin wheel didn't help the performances. The venue itself is cool, with a great bar space and feels intimate. I'd visit again but for a more established comedian/night.

Fab venue - quirky with a retro feel, and very friendly and inclusive. We go there so often that the staff know us by name, and we always have a nice chat with them.

This place is fantastic. I recently took my improvised comedy group, Insert Laughter Here, to perform for our London/Camden Fringe debut shows, and we had an absolutely wonderful time. The museum itself is beautiful, houses a great many treasures and tributes to comedy legends new and old. The staff were a delight to work with, constantly helpful throughout the runup to our shows and then during the show days themselves. I have since recommended it to several friends who are now considering performing there in the future. As an audience member it's a great place too, we visited to see a stand-up night a few weeks prior to our performances - the room is very intimate and perfect for comedy - got to see Mark Watson and Vix Leyton as if they were sat in our living room talking to us. Cannot do anything other than sing the museum's praises, the fantastic team are keeping a lovely thing going beautifully. Visit!

Went to see ‘Medico’ thus evening. With everything that has been happening over the past two years in hospital, this could have been a golden opportunity to put on a hilarious comedy show. Instead, it was not in the least funny. No-one laughed. It was absolutely terrible. The worst ‘show’ I gave ever seen. It just wasn’t funny. I LOVE comedy. I hated this performance, and from what I could see, the rest of the audience hated it, too. Very disappointed.

Watched the quarter final heats of New Comedian Of The Year on Sunday 6th Nov 22. Quickfire acts of 12 performers who only had about 10 minutes each, they all did a great job, we were laughing all the way through and it was really difficult to chose only two. Compere was very funny too, think he was a previous year's winner. Lovely little bar in the crypt there. On stage were Rohan Sharma, Kate Martin, Ed Mulvey, Paddy Young, Becky Walker, Sharlin Jahan, Omar Badawy, Aldis Hamilton, Joe Bingham, Elliott Dallas, Roger O'Sullivan and Dane Buckley.

Tiny venue with lots of heart. Fantastic staff and as the name suggests, there are comedy artefacts to browse while you're waiting for the show. Nice bar too.

Monday try out new material is a terrific start to week. Lovely friendly welcoming atmosphere. It's free for about 12 acts with reasonable bar, some comedians well known.

Look around, it might be open but it is venue more than anything else. Sure, there are good shows. 18+ is age limit. Leave yougsters behind the door. Beacause they are not clever enough to understand us. Or because they are.

I love MOC as it is easy to get to, theatre is small and there is audience participation of the comedy shows I have seen. I have not visited to see anything else. The criticism I have is that the seats are hard and too close together so for more than an hour of the show would be most uncomfortable.

I try not to make hanging around in the crypts below churches too much of a habit but sometimes in life comedy can be found in the most absurd of situations and in this case , places. This may be one of the first museums dedicated to artefacts related to comedians and if I am right then it is shameful given Britain's place in the world as one of the great industrial engines of mirth. For those that are sinful enough to considert drinking below a house of God , there is a bar and in addition there is a 100 seat space / theatre / purgatory for those that wish to laugh before they are made ready for eternal heaven / damnation. You may think hanging around underneath a church would be chilling enough but these wags have installed some ice cold air - con ! Oh yes I have laughed a lot here but for reasons of respect / fear would not dream.of admitting that to me Mammy .... I would have given this august establishment five stars but who in their right mind wants to admit to enjoying hanging around in a crypt even if it is filled with comedy greats such as the great Tommy Cooper lookin' at ya' ?

This is our favourite Comedy Club in London, by far. Quirky, Welcoming, Retro, Inclusive, Eclectic… by far the best comedy club slash yoga studio you’ll find under any church in the city! Check out the Monday Night comedy club (only £5 at the time of writing) and the yearly Sketch Off Competition heats.
