This was so much fun for my family. We loved all the unexpected things that happened with the interactive machines. (No spoilers!) If you come you have to try iZombie though. Best game there. Prices are fair and totally worth it. Will definitely come back!

I highly, highly recommend! A delightful and surprising room of fun. Nestled just near Oxford Street and between some top notch London caffs, definitely give this place a visit. £8.50 gets you 10 tokens, £25 for 33, and you'll want to go back to try all the machines you didn't! I'm telling everyone to go!

I have been a fan of the amazing Tim Hunkin for years and when I realised, I would be a short distance from his location I leapt at the chance to visit! Crazy, 'Heath Robinson' machines with a delicious political satire as well as dollops of fun! My son and I were delighted and loved every moment of the intelligent and well-engineered machines. You must visit and enjoy a different view of reality!

It's small, it's cramped, but damnit it's walk to walk fun and excitement. The automation in these machines is incredible along with the delightful satirical bent of some of the machines. Pedal incredibly hard as an Amazon worker collecting products from shelves, avoid phone zombies posing attention to their screens not where they're walking. Fully recommend getting the full set of tokens and trying everything because you don't want to be stuck with hard decisions between operating nuclear material or probing an alien jelly monster!

Very unique arcade games found at novelty automation! Good way to kill some time if you’re in the area. The staff was super friendly and recommended games that were interesting.

Super charming and interesting. Bring cash to buy tokens, preferably £25 so you can try all the machines. I didn't have much cash but I'll be back to try the others. Just a fun artsy unique experience. Not for people who take things too seriously.

Spent a good ninety minutes and £18 simply having fun and playing with these mechanical arcadeachijes that are both current and relative to today but whimsical and creative. Giggles, delight , and laughter assured . Not every machine is suitable for less able bodied so be aware this is a very mobile space and cramped when busy . Worth the visit though

A quirky little shop where you can tell the owner poured their heart into their creations. We shared 34 tokens (£27) between the two of us and managed to try everything. I would suggest having a look at all the machines and deciding which ones you're interested in before buying tokens. The machines all share a great sense of humour with very topical themes, and some will catch you by surprise. Overall a true hidden gem that I would recommend to anyone looking for something new to do in London.

A must visit if you're in London. All ages will love the fun and sheer eccentricity of the machines. A fun and memorable place to enjoy, and you might even take home a Nobel Prize 😁

A fun and charming little place off the beaten path. Free entry, open late on Thursdays (until 8pm). Pick up 10x tokens for £8.50 and enjoy yourself. Recommend money laundering, cycle pong and fulfilment centre!

Each of the games have witty concepts and its all for you to find out. Its not your typical arcade. My favorite is the money laundering game. We paid £27 to experience all the games there. Photobooth is already included for the £27 package. Also, There are cheaper options wherein you can pay like £9 and £5.

Unique and cool little shop! Hidden in london; only found out about it from Secret London guide! It is such a cool place and can easily spend an hour there! I went with my friend we got 20 tokens between us and explored nearly everything. Only down side is that its too hot inside as its small and if its crowded it may not be comfortable to everyone

Absolutely brilliant fun. Took my husband on his 70th birthday as have visited Southwold pier in the past. He loved it & so did I. Bought enough tokens to try every machine & well worth it.

Amazing experience, games are interactive and thrilling. Prices aren't so cheap it's 9 pounds for 10 tokens which is not enough if you want to try more than a couple games. We used 20 tokens and still haven't tried all games.

So glad I saw a recommendation for this place on the Atlas Obscura website. Many a fun and strange game to play but also just a joy to walk around and check out. Definitely a fun and diverting stop off. I visit London a few times a year and often have guests with me so I’m always on the lookout for a new cool place to take people and this place has been added to the list for sure!

Wonderful! I have been enjoying Tim Hunkin’s Component series on YouTube and visiting here and seeing some of his machines close up was a real treat. I absolute love your work Tim. If you are in London and esp if you are a maker, go here!

What a fun experience. Would really recommend it if you've got a spare hour in the area. It does get quite busy though on the weekends, and is quite small so it might be best trying to visit in a weekday. Make sure you buy plenty of tokens or do a round to look at how much the machines cost since it's definitely worth buying more and saving on their bulk token deal

Super fun and educational place, mechanical-electrical machines created by Mr. Tim Huninkne, moderator of the series The sectret life of... Payment cards accepted.

Great place to spend a few fun hours. Whether you are a fan of Tim Hunkin or not, it’s a great place to see some truly wonderful, handmade entertainment machines. As a fan of the late 1980s series ‘The secret life of machines’ this was a place I wanted to visit for many a year. It did not disappoint, and I must give credit to the guy the front desk as well: As some machines are two players, he told me to go and grab him and he will play with me as the two player person. (we played Pong (on exercise cycles controlling the bats (obviously)). £27 to purchase tokens to play all the machines. It’s not that cheap, but all the effort and time that’s gone into marking them, it it’s gotta be worth it. But you can buy less tokens for less money, if only a couple of machines, take your fancy. It’s probably worth taking a minute to look at the machine and read the instructions before putting your tokens in.

Is it an arcade? An interactive kinetic art museum? Subversive political propaganda? I'm not entirely sure, but it's an awesome experience. It's well worth the trip over, whether you live in London or are just visiting for a few days.

Such a fun and quirky place to visit. Spent an hour playing the machines. It was a little crowded but that's only because it's such a popular place.

I wouldn't put it in a museum category. Its a cool cosy exhibition place with some fun and really enjoyable pieces of interactive art. Visit it with someone you love or want to have fun with. Its a cool filler when you are fed up with consumerism in the neighborhood.

I visited with my boyfriend as he wanted to go and was pleasantly surprised at how fun it was. A variety of fun games to play including some two player ones. It was a tad on the busy side but everyone waited to use the games they wanted

Been wanting to go Novelty Automation for a long time - absolutely loved it! The machines are quirky and funny, and you get prizes on some of them. We arrived for opening and got to go on all the machines in just over an hour. Recommend getting enough tokens for all the machines so that you don't need to pick and choose.

I stumbled across this place with a group of friends by chance and It was absolutely fantastic! We had a go on most of the machines and they were all so clever and jolly and different, my favourites were the nuclear facility, the holiday, the chiropodist and photobooth but they were all excellent. We were lucky enough to meet the man who thought up this place and most of its creations and had a lovely chat too! Such a gem of a place and I will definitely be taking friends and family here in the future!

Have a great time at novelty automation with friends on Tuesday morning. There’s no one here. Every game is cleverly designed and beautifully crafted.

I was really excited to discover this place! And it didn't disappoint at all. The games are extremely well designed and thought. Not all of them are great to play necessarily, but definitely it's a great experience. The best aspect of it is to unfold the social/political comments that the maker left there for us, regarding the the way we live and the rat race.

Was great! Made the kids laugh, only downside would maybe some of the machines look a bit tired. Young man behind the counter was lovely and helpful. It's definitely unique!

We went there with friends and have an amazing experience! The amount of mind blowing machines is impressive! Four of us bought 30 tokens overall and we could explore almost all the machines. It was a lot of fun and we recommend others to go there.
