The front desk receptionist has an attitude problem. Came here for a medical emergency and got yelled out of the A&E room as only patients are allowed to wait there (photo of the reception waiting area). Really disappointing experience. No need to be so hostile when there is a medical emergency - serious chemical burn in eyes requiring immediate attention. Apparently double standards as other patients with their guest are going up to the A&E while I’m not allowed. Reading other reviews, it’s clear I’m not alone. NHS HR should take note. Update: one of the nurse staff in the A&E (Jisenta?) was godsend and really helpful/caring.

Terribly dated / disorganised hospital - patients were not informed about the process at all upon arrival and often left waiting for hours. For example, I was not aware of the 2 step triage process and waited at front desk area for hours without knowing what’s going on. The major problem of this hospital is that their staff generally gets annoyed(or at least they showed it) when being asked questions. I understand that NHS is seriously under staffed however both the process and service were very poor. I was referred by a local optician due to retinal uplift risk at the back of my eye. The doctor was super opinionated. She challenged the referral and refused to conduct the OCT scan (the examination when my symptom was diagnosed) again. I tried to address my worry but all she responded was “opticians are not doctors”. That was such a arrogant statement and didn’t ease my concern at all. Throughout my time there, most people left me the impression that they just wanted to get me out asap so they can get to the next patient in the queue. Overall I am not impressed by the experience and felt worse when I left the hospital. It was a painful 5 hour wait for me as well.

Coming to this hospital cost me part of my sight. My name is Elodie Monthe, I am a french woman who was visiting London for a professional event in July 2019 when I faced some real troubles with my eye. While my vision was still perfect (with my glasses), my eye was red and the pain was excruciating. I even passed out several times because of it. I arrived at the hospital on a Saturday morning. The doctor told me I had an eye infection and still discharged me. They gave me some drops to put on my eye every hour for the next 48 hours and told me to go see a doctor two days later, on Monday morning, after coming back to Paris. Thank God I didn't wait that long. As soon as I arrived in Paris I went to an eye hospital... That's when they told me the eye infection was extremely bad, that I would have permanent damages and that I could even loose my sight. It was already late, I couldn't see anything anymore. I was hospitalized for 8 days. I came close to needing a corneal craft. I am left with a huge corneal scar, a very very thin cornea at some place, a big opacity and of course, a very impaired vision that can't be corrected with glasses (!!). To this day, I am still working on finding what could help me get a good sight. Had I been taken care of properly at this hospital, while my vision was still clear, none of that would have happened ! I am only talking about the physical consequences, I let you imagine how psychologically hard the situation is. Every ophthalmologist I see tells me how bad the situation is, how late it's been taken care of and somehow, how lucky I am that I escaped the corneal craft. I can't understand how they let me go with a growing abscess on my eye !!!! I trusted them to do what was right. I came to the hospital for help and because of them, I lost 36 precious hours. I will now forever have to live with the consequences of their carelessness.

After 2 disappointing visits to Moorfields Eye Hospital, where I was only prescribed Virgan gel, that had no effect and caused my eye more pain. I knew my eye needed more care and attention as it was seriously infected with inflammation - the nerve pain on my eye, it was agony! So after attending Western Eye Hospital, I met a fabulous, most amazing, and fantastic doctor who goes by the name Jeanette. I immediately felt comforted in her care and knew i was in the right hands. Within a minute, she knew what I needed. As soon as I applied my new drops, the eye pain relief was instant. One bottle for pain and a 2nd bottle of drops x2 for the viral inflammation infection. The following day, the inflammation went down, and the redness was gone. She is pure magic! A well-deserved box of chocolates from me and a thank you card. If you have an eye problem, that is the place and the lady to see.

Very bad experience ever! Our first and third time for reviewing were so nice for doctors and PAs. But this time when we came today with different PAs and doctor they are extremely so RUDE! Seriously must improve their service!! Especially Indian lady doctor with black eye glasses should be more polite and not be so rude when responding or talking with the patients.

I can honestly say I hate this organisation at the moment. 5 cancelled appointments. I went to A&E because I was in worried about flashing lights in my eyes. I would not have done this if my appointment was not constantly being cancelled by them. I was supposed to be seen within 3 months of my last appointment due to scarring on my maculars and reduced vision in both eyes. 5 months later still being fobbed off by them. Each time I have an appointment, I have to take time off work and arrange my time, only to have them change it at the last minute. Shameful. Doctors striking get no sympathy from me when they can't even offer a basic service and put people off, cancelling appointment after appointment after appointment.

The worst experience of my life. Initial nurse was arrogant and rude. Her name is Maria, if I don’t mistake, she made me down and pushed me to go private. After waiting 2 hours Doctor didn’t want to visit me either since I wasn’t “too urgent” to be in an A&E department. Before covid the service was much better. Now They just ignore you and push you to go private. Such a shame.

Dreadful, send me an appointment, went I get there, which takes me 2plus hours, they tell me I don't have an appointment. I said I will not leave until I see a doctor. They finally agree, I see a nice Dr who tells me I have a build up of fluid behind my eye. I knew that, had it before. I told him it was very painful and my eyeball was bulging out. He said it could not be done that day but I would be sent an appointment in the next couple of weeks. Which I got, so back again to be told there are only 2 Dr's so 2 hour wait. I hit the roof and I saw a Dr, now get this, she was a Dr who takes out eyes to replay with false ones, yep that's right. Can you tell me who is running the appointments department, they should be sacked. Why make appointments for patients when there are no Dr's to see them. I have been coming to thus hospital for 2 to 3 years, do you know what they have done for me......absolutely nothing. Am I happy not one bit. I need to speak to the head boy. But when you ring no one answers the phone, unbelievable. What more can I do .

This is specific to the pharmacy there. I was given a private prescription so I can only get from their pharmacy. It took them 30 mins to give me my medication which on normal pharmacy would have taken 1/2 mins. All the time they were just chatting

I'm really quite sad that I'm having to write a negative review about this place but it has to be done. I was referred to the A&E department at this hospital after going to the opticians with vision loss in one eye; sever inflammation around the optic nerve. So.....a pretty serious case. After getting there, granted the wait wasn't long however none of the doctors there could diagnose me. I have an ongoing condition that has caused vision loss before and upon telling the doctors, they had no idea what it was. I was diagnosed with something else and not given anything for my eye. Over the weekend my vision got progressively worse and when I came back, I went to outpatients. At first, my faith was restored; the doctors agreed that it was probably my condition flaring up, I was also put with a doctor that was lovely and prescribed medication straight away and my vision improved! Yay! My doctor was then changed. Upon arrival the new doctor informed me that the medication I was given should not be stopped abruptly (which I realised myself as I was having horrendous withdrawals) however she also failed to give me a new prescription so...can't really take my medication if I don't have them. To add to this, my new doctor didn't know anything about my condition, where it came from, what it is etc. so this did not give me much faith in being treated. Would like to say thank you to the first doctor that was seeing me as he was brilliant, and the lovely nurses working over at outpatients. The However the rest of my experience was poor and it put my vision on the line due to the poor organisation skills and lack of knowledge of certain members of staff. If your eye condition is serious, be careful going in....

Appalling. Disorganization incarnated. Machines not working (“camera’s offline, sorry can’t do the exam”), ink running out, staff getting your metrics completely wrong, doctor telling your vision is perfect after 6 hours of waiting, while gradually losing sight over 10 days. It happened to be a eye emergency they haven’t picked up and can lead to cornea transplant if untreated. Only the head surgeon saw and pointed in the right direction (cornea complications); yet also missed the exact diagnosis and the treatment urgency I am now getting elsewhere. Not recommended

Referred to Western Eye as a case of emergency after visiting my optician (same day). Sent home from hospital because they couldn't be bothered/too busy to see me, was told I have a hospital closer to home that I could've gone to - even though I was specifically sent to Western Eye due to the seriousness of my case - told to come back Monday to Friday from 8am. Appalling.

31 Dec (5pm) - I was referred by my optitrician to the hospital and the triage reception staff refused to admit me and asked me to go home. Without even fully appreciating my symptoms or circumstances, they said that my situation is not an emergency and told me off saying its a 4-6 hrs wait. They didn't ask me about my condition and wouldn't let me even choose for myself if I wanted to wait and told me to go to my GP for a referral and book an appointment. I had travelled 1 hour to the hospital due to increasing eye pain and got told off. Very poor and rude service, the reception staff need more training and empathy! That is just not acceptable!

I self referred to the walk in A&E department and was very pleased with my treatment. The receptionist was polite and helpful. I didn’t have to wait an inordinate length of time and when I saw the charming nurse practitioner she diagnosed the problem immediately, explained why it had occurred and put my mind at rest. I was then given a full eye test as a precaution.

I’ve been asked to go to Western Eye Hospital for treatment by my GP. This is Walk in Eye Clinic, you don’t need to make an appointment or referral letter from GP. When I got there, the receptionist ask me to right my full name and date of birth and then ask me to take seat and wait for my name to be called. I then got seen by the Eye Dr and then when through examination process which led to my treatment and prescription of necessary medicine I found all staff I’ve got into contact with very helpful sympathetic to my need and professional. I am genuinely grateful for their help and support.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID! I turned up this morning after receiving referral from my GP. I was experiencing blurry vision in my left eye, pain, discomfort and pulsing sensation. My eyelid was swollen. After one hour of wait I was ‘assessed’ by one of the representatives and then informed that they would be ‚happy to see me on 12th of May’. This płace is a JOKE. Avoid at any cost. In the End of the day its a freaking A&E and patients should be given medical attention the same day! The place is absolutely disastrous!

1 star reviews????? Are you kidding? My experience here was excellent. Ok, the lobby was worn, the reception staff a bit stoic. BUT, the nurses... excellent and efficient, and the person I saw Charlotte was extremely thorough. There was an inconsistency with one result and she ordered a retinal scan to be sure, plus had a colleague double check to make sure there weren't any holes or tears in my retina. They showed me the scan results and explained exactly what was happening to my eye. My anxiety went from 10 to 0 after going here. Losing sight in an eye is scary, but I'll sleep like a baby tonight. THANK YOU!!!

I just want to say a big big thank-you to the team at Western Eye. A foreign body embedded in my eye around 4:30pm on Sunday. I was welcomed by the hard working staff at 7:00pm and had it removed at 7:45pm. Was also given eye-drops on site. We are so lucky to have a facility that can offer help, government funded at that! God-bless the NHS. 🌈 . Thanks to the team once again!!

I read the reviews on this site and was worried about visiting this hospital with my eye issue. I couldn't have been more pleased though with the efficient and exceptional service. I visited at 8:30am on a Wednesday and was handing in my prescription by 9:45am following my pre-inspection with Matt the Matron who was exceptional and who then referred me for a scan followed by another test with the Consultant. I expect it depends what time of day you visit, however even on this day they were short of staff but were still efficient and well managed. This place is like a well run machine and I really think we need to value the service hospitals like this offer in our NHS. Wonderful wonderful.

I’ve been to this hospital twice in less than 2 months, both times my wait has been over 5+ hours. It’s beyond ridiculous to expect anyone to wait THAT long for an emergency. I don’t blame the actual staff at the hospital, but they’re so utterly understaffed and under-resourced that it’s a joke. This cannot and should not be acceptable.

A really pleasant experience visiting this for a check-up if my uveitis auto-immune eye inflammation. Dr Parsafar was superb and very thorough on her examination, it was very reassuring and helped me with my diagnosis and treatment. The wait wasn't too bad, especially due to thr doctors strikes. Was expected a few hours, end up being seen and treated within 2 hours. Pharmacy took another 30 mins ... All in all a satisfied experience and appreciate the care and treatment of the practitioners. Thanks

I would just like to say, that since being a patient from May of this and till now. I must say a big thank you to the team. I have always been treated with respect and honesty. I must also say a special thank you to the professional who saw myself today. He went into great detail with the issues that I have. Where I understood all that was being said. Yes people complain about the building being out dated, and the front desk. It's what's inside that matters.

Was referred to this A&E Eye hospital by my GP, and despite a potential 5h wait, they was me within a couple of hours. The doctors were very professional, pleasant, gentle on my eye and hard working overall! Kudos to them for getting that seed stuck in my eye out so effortlessly for them and sending me home with antibiotic drops ‘just in case’.

Had a concern over extremely bloodshot eye over a couple of days. Went to this clinic, filled out a form, handed it over, was seen by extremely professional and friendly staff who reassured me that my ailment would clear in a couple of weeks without the need for anything other than an eyewash if required. I saw a nurse who assessed me,another doctor who tested my eyes thoroughly and a final session of advice and reassurance. Absolutely brilliant. I suggest the rest of the NHS takes a leaf out of this hospital for walk-in services. Excellent.

I have attended A&E at Western Eye Hospital in July after being turned away from Moorfields Eye Hospital A&E. I have been treated politely and professionally from the reception to the medical team, they took my emergency condition seriously, did a lot of blood tests and investigations and found out my diagnosis. Since then, I had regular reviews in the Outpatients department and I received the same excellent care, and my condition is resolving. Thank you WEH!

Incredible staff. Visited with a problem with my right eye - checked in at reception, then saw nurse practitioner who will perform triage and then wait to see the eye doctor, and then final wait for prescription to be issued for eye condition. Thank you to all the professional staff working with kindness and empathy - definitely felt it.

The A&E area is a little cramped, although additional seats are available on the ground floor. Takes about 1 hr to be seen by a nurse and another 2-3 hour to be seen by a doc. Overall experience could have been better if the water dispenser is working. Staff are helpful.

Had great service here from a professional medical team, from reception through to pharmacy everyone was helpful and friendly. Sorted out my eye problem and the medicines are working quickly. The other patients were generally good too but there are some real idiots about, complaining about waiting for their free treatment, being rude to staff, not wearing masks in a hospital waiting room… The hospital staff take all this in their stride and still smile, amazing…

Very disappointed and bad service. I had red sticky watery eyes for months and GP’s medicine just not helping. The guy just asked me a few questions and have a look at my eyes and offered me ARTIFICIAL TEAR, it seems ARTIFICIAL TEAR is the only and best solution for all eye problems. If it’s some problem my GP can sort it I will definitely not visiting them. They don’t even looked into my eyes by using any facilities they have, maybe the guy thought he’s got X-ray eyes can detect every problem without using professional facilities. Again bad service and my poor eyes still red watery and sticky especially every time I wake up. My eyesight is getting worse, a simple examination by looking into the eyes may find out what problems is but that guy just don’t want practice it. Artificial tear is NOT solution for any eye problem.

I have to say that I received the poorest service ever. I visited the hospital yesterday (8th July) around 3am. I went to the hospital because one of my contact lenses got broken inside my eye during the afternoon and I couldn't remove all the pieces from inside. My eye was really in pain and I could feel I had something inside. Nurses were really nice but when the doctor saw me the first thing he said was: "this is not an emergency, you shouldn't be here". He checked my eye for less that 30 seconds and send me home saying that I had nothing. I tried to explain myself because I had keratitis many times in the past and several problems with my eyes. But he didn't even listen/reply to me and he was just waiting for me to leave the place. I assume there are more serious problems than a contact lense broken inside an eye. But sleeping with that piece can cause severe issues to the eye (like a corneal ulcer - even if I'm not a doctor, I know it). The biggest problem was not just the poor attention, but how rude he was with me. Anyway, today, after more than 32 hours, a piece of contact lense came off from my eye. So, I wanted to express how bad I was treated by that doctor. P.S. A doctor shouldn't question a person when it's trying to express what feels. That's their JOB. And it's about people's health (which I think it is quite important). Really Really bad service!!

This hospital need a refurbishment every thing literally there whole equipment it’s old and rusty looks so bad as this hospital like this is in Central London I can’t believe where all other hospitals like Hammersmith and Charing Cross are well improved and upgraded. It’s embarrassing to see patients will say what sort of hospital. I’m sure many patients in here will say about there facilities absolutely horrible.

Looked after me well .GP told me to go here as it was my closest eye A&E was seen within an hour as I'd arrived early morning and given medication. Follow up a few days later it was very crowded and I waited for a couple of hours but received good treatment and discharged all together a good experience .Thanks to our NHS

A good way to lose your eye. Extremely old facilities, tiny waiting area, all contagious patients are left with Everyone else. I inevitably went to Moorfields when my viral conjunctivitis got worse and I lost faith in western eye. I had psuedomembranes on the eyelids which required a doctor to scrape them off every couple of days..... western eye also identified that I had pseudomembranes .... but did nothing about it leading to more and more of a build up and my eye to swell completely shut, they only even looked under my eyelid the 3rd time I went there In the space of a week, the first two doctors told me completely different things, the first one gave me tear drops, the second one gave me steroid drops and the third one told me the dosage I’d been given on the steroid drops was too much as well as finally identifying the pseudomembranes on my eyelids and NOT removing them (he was possibly incapable as worrying as that is, or more likely didn’t want to spend 30 minutes on a delicate procedure) after 3 different sets of advice I had the good sense to google best eye hospital in London and Moorfields is actually the best in the country. Moorfields facilities are far more modern with multiple spacious waiting areas, I was immediately quarantined to keep my contagious infection away from others and there are far more doctors working in the A&E (there were 2 at maximum in western eye). They immediately set to work on clearing the pseudomembranes from my eyelid which is a delicate and painful procedure, they also prescribed me different steroid eye drops as well as an antibiotic eye drop, they asked me to return two days later, western eye never asked me to come back because they don’t want the extra work load, when I came back the pseudomembranes had reoccurred and the same procedure was done to remove them again and then I came back two days later again as per their request and they removed the new build up again, my last appointment there was today and the pseudomembranes finally disappeared, quality staff and modern facilities. DO NOT go to western eye hospital if you value your eyes. In Moorfields doctors confer with other doctors and ask them to look at your eye too if they need clarification on what they believe the problem to be. Western eye try to rush you out the door as soon as possible because your eyes mean nothing to them, you are a number that needs to be erased from their work load as they are woefully understaffed. The only bad thing about Moorfields was a horrible little receptionist who told me that I couldn’t use Moorfields because I had already been to western eye, naturally I refused to leave, explained national insurance contributions to her and explained that I would not lose my eye because “policy”, a nurse over ruled her and I received the best eye treatment in the country unfortunately a week later than I should’ve simply because western eye is closer to me and I did no research online. The takeaway point from this is that pseudomembranes need to be physically removed from your eyelid, not only did the first two Western eye doctors not even check under my eyelids (despite me telling them it hurt when I blinked) the third one identified it and sent me on my way with no treatment other than to keep using my eye drops. God knows what would’ve happened to my eye if the pseudomembranes had been allowed to build up for weeks and weeks but thankfully Moorfields doctors spent 30 minutes removing them the first time, 10 the second time and 5 the third time. Western eye saw me for a total of 10 minutes over 3 occasions, rushing me out the door with next to no treatment. Moorfields took samples for tests to diagnose me accurately, needless to say at this point but western eye didn’t do that either. Amazing professional negligence. I’d sue if I had legal insurance.

I was advised by my GP to attend A&E here after months of painful sore eyes. Arrived 8.15am, was seen straight away. Diagnosed, treated and sent to the pharmacy within an hour. Can’t speak highly enough of the fantastic service I received and all during Covid. Thank you all.

Everyone is polite, helpful and supportive, especially Dr. Beng who explained my eyes situation and answered queries patiently and also helped me to get the follow up appointment quickly. It is just being brilliant!

Overall poor reception area and waiting room and too busy. Went to 2nd floor at 7.15am with only 1 other person waiting, the reception staff messed up my details on the computer. Did an initial assessment and told me to wait. At 8am, they told everyone to go to A&E on the ground floor. Waited there 1 hour, they called everyone else's name but me. I had to ask them again to be seen. After the doctor's diagnosis (who was really professional and good), the letter I was given had the wrong patients details.

Vasant,it’s because not all are being treated the same and fairly therefore your not in a place to speak for all, correct?,now I highly suggest you stop with the ignorance since this hospital has been rated poorly by the majority’s experience which makes it not so good after all,the majority’s opinion overrules an individuals opinion.

Visited the a&e on a Saturday and had tests done for a retinal detachment after getting an urgent referral from my GP. Told to come back again on Monday (with an appointment but still waited 3 hours just to see the surgeon) for a surgery (was told to fast the night before). Arrived at the centre again only to have the exact same tests done by different people and was told that someone would call me to schedule a surgery. No one has called and I had to get the retinal detachment fixed by a private surgeon. Great way to lose an eye.

I was on four visits 21, 23,24 and 26/07/19 with a very serious eye infection. The all staff it was very professional and helpful. I recommend to all who have problems with eyes. And the waiting tim, hmmm, you have to understand tens of patients so you have to be forgiving and patient . Perfect A&E thanks very much for help

The service at the hospital till September has been superb. I am unsure as to why but they rescheduled five apps without asking myself. The latest app given no letter was sent out. On the email no number or email was written at all. I just found out today that they changed there number without anyone letting me know. I believe there doing this to everyone so be aware.

Longish wait in A&A. Looked chaotic but actually all was well-organised. Saw a brilliant doctor, helpful and astute. Performed laser surgery. We're so grateful for this service. A big thank you.

Staff very helpful, but very busy. Easy to find. Victorian building. Small waiting areas, with very limited seating. Overcrowded. I was there for over 4 hours.

  • 5/5 R R. 2 years ago on Google
Thank you very much to all the staff. The male receptionist at the A&E was very polite. I was attended to in less than 2hrs and both the triage nurses and doctor who checked my eye were very efficient and reassuring. I was given a leaflet to explain my condition. Thank you very much.

Staff Ok. But waiting 3.5hours is expected of a hospital of a non developed country. In the UK and in London this wait is shameful.

Yes, the wait was over two hours, but I was treated by an excellent nurse and doctor. They went above and beyond what I was expecting, and treated my injury (caused by my own stupidity of not using eye protection when cutting some metal) with the up most professionalism.

I regularly accompany my mother to this hospital for macular disease treatment. I have always found the entire staff very professional, caring and helpful. My mother is under the care of Dr. Nancy Khairat who is very knowledgeable, meticulous in her work and at the same time very kind, patient and caring.

Rude and disorganized. Was referred to this hospital by GP for a 5 year old with conjunctivitis and blurry vision. Told to go within 24 hours. Called the hospital first as advised and was told the wait would be 15-30 MINUTES for small children if we came in after school. They repeatedly said "the wait is NEVER long for children". Went all the way to the hospital with my kids and was told very rudely the wait would be 3 hours and I could go somewhere else if I didn't want to wait.

I am giving 2 stars only because the doctor was amazing I did wait 4 hours to be seen. Apart from that new patients and existing were given scrap paper by the Indian man on reception to write your name and address . At one point a lady that had been waiting asked reception how long she would be as she needed to breastfeed her baby and the response I'm registering people. Appaling reception area no covid questions asked. After attending moorfields the service and unprofessional behaviour here is something I have never seen before. When attending moorfields you are seen quickly professional registration forms. I still can't believe he was making people fill out details on scrap paper.

Favourably impressed by the service I received from this hospital. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Apart from the eye trouble I was suffering with I felt extremely comfortable here. Not something you can say for most hospitals. There was a short wait for consultation, diagnosis, prescription, e.t.c, but I was in and out within two hours. Amazingly speedy. I'd expected to wait twice as long as that. The Western Eye is an interesting place to visit in it's own right too. Lots of unexpected passageways and doors. Looking for the loo was like going on a magical mystery tour. The main loo in the foyer was being cleaned at the time so I was directed elsewhere. Fun exploring, but there was a question whether I'd ever find my way back. Excellent service, brilliant building. I Hope you never have to go there but if you do you are in expert hands.

Had something stuck in my eye. There were only 6 people to be seen but it took 3h before the doctor saw me. Receptionist is unnecessary rude, helpless and unintelligent. Took her 40min to put my data into her system.

I have been to the eye hospital three times. I have found it then necessary to get advice privately. It seems to be a training situation.you sit for hours and then end up seeing an “Advanced care specialist” ie not a doctor. I had to return a week later as no better and it was a battle to see the “doctor” rather than advanced care specialist again. I had the same situation years ago and ended up going privately to sort it out. Patients are seen in order priority. The wait room is packed full of people. I would not go this route again. Fine if you have conjunctivitis and plenty of time to spare but not for serious complaints where you actually need to see a doctor or haven’t have hours free to sit in the wait room

I went to this hospital because of my blurred vision that I have been suffering from for quite some time. I was advised by my GP to go to this hospital, and when I went there I was asked to read things on the wall, then the guy tells me you see better than me and there is nothing they can do about the intermittent blurred vision, they did not even bother to examine my eyes further or at least advise for more tests. What a waste of time and effort.

You always have to wait for two hours when you have an outpatient appointment also sometimes the doctor missed their appointment and somebody else visit you. And always cancel your appointment and give a new one

I attended the walk-in emergency care on a Saturday morning. Absolutely faultless service. Great staff (many people working here). I arrived at 8:30, was soon evaluated, waited for my turn , Dr took great care of me. A brief wait for some medication (which they bring to you). Couldn't be better in anyway as far as I'm concerned. Place was quiet, organised and well run. I felt I had to place a review today due to the faultless service I received. Go the NHS! 😻 Don't be worried by the one star reviews - ( many of those seem around hospital appointments/schedules etc - rather than the emergency eye care unit.)

Susannah is a true gem and bundle of joy in this hospital. She ensured that we were comfortable, well informed and looked after during our visit with her outstanding bubbly and positive attitude. She is the epitome of the kind of person hospitals are in need of ensure vulnerable patients are in good care. Thank you Susannah 👏💗

I had to attend the A&E department yesterday due to a flare up of uvertis which I had in 2021 as was treated for at this hospital...I arrived at 9am checked in and waited half an hour before being seen by a triage nurse...drops administered and back to the waiting area....waited another hour and then seen by a doctor...waited another 3/4 hour for prescription.... the whole visit took just over 2 hours...not bad for an A&E visit. The staff were pleasant and answered any questions I wanted to know further information on. Nothing is perfect but I would recommend this hospital wholeheartedly

😠 First impression, poor! The staff had no idea about parking fair enough, eventually found a car park around the corner. Came back, toilets are grim, tea machine had a sign "ask a member of staff if you want a hot drink" so I did and they said they have no idea. Let's hope everything else is perfect....
