A beautiful park green right beside the river Thames and the splendid Palace of Westminster. A favorite spot of mine for a stroll and some photos of the palace.

Victoria Tower Gardens South, located in the heart of London, adjacent to the iconic River Thames, is a charming riverside park that offers a tranquil escape from the bustling city. Situated south of the Victoria Tower, part of the Palace of Westminster complex, the gardens provide a serene retreat with beautiful views of the river and several notable landmarks. The park's lush green lawns, well-maintained flower beds, and towering trees create a peaceful and picturesque setting. It offers a serene ambiance, making it an ideal spot for picnics, leisurely walks, or simply finding a peaceful moment amidst nature. Victoria Tower Gardens South also holds historical significance, as it houses several notable monuments and memorials. One of the key attractions is the Buxton Memorial Fountain, a striking monument commemorating the emancipation of slaves in the British Empire. The fountain is adorned with intricate carvings and provides a poignant reminder of the historical struggles for freedom and equality. The gardens also offer a prime vantage point for admiring the neighboring architectural marvels, such as the Palace of Westminster, with its iconic clock tower known as Big Ben (currently undergoing restoration), and the stunning Victoria Tower. These landmarks add a sense of grandeur and historical importance to the park, immersing visitors in the rich heritage of London. Additionally, the gardens are conveniently located near other popular attractions, including the Westminster Abbey, the Churchill War Rooms, and the Tate Britain. This makes it an excellent starting point for exploring the surrounding historical and cultural treasures of the area. Victoria Tower Gardens South provides a peaceful respite from the bustling city, allowing visitors to unwind, soak in the scenic beauty, and reflect on the historical significance of the nearby landmarks and memorials. It is a hidden gem that invites both locals and tourists to discover its tranquility and immerse themselves in the rich history of London.

Another wonderfully historical and important location in London. I believe the British government is resides here. As you walk the grounds you will come upon the Thymes river and a nice spot to rest for a moment and take it all in. FOLLOW ME for more thoughtful recommendations as I travel the world 🌎

Right next to the Parliament, this lovely park makes for a nice refuge since it is often quiet though being next to one of the busiest touristic areas. With an sculpture group by Rodin and a playground for children, it also offers from its many strategically positioned benches great views over the Thames, towards London Eye and both Westminster and Lambeth Bridges.

A beautiful retreat after a busy day. Victoria Tower Gardens is a small pocket of green space in the heart of Westminster, between the Houses of Parliament, the River Thames, Millbank and Lambeth Bridge.  It contains various monuments and a good view of the River Thames. Entering through the north-east gate, the first monument you come to is one dedicated to Pankhurst - a political activist and leader of the suffrage movement in Great Britain.

Lovely relatively small park next to the River Thames near the House of Parliament and Lambeth Bridge. It is a long thin park that runs along the riverside so perfect for a stroll through it from part of London to the other. Also benches and covered areas if it’s a hot sunny day. Well maintained when I visited in August.

Absolutely stunning slightly secluded gardens/park.. very easy to walk past without even knowing, and considering you’re in the centre of the capital, it’s very quiet and tranquil. If you want a nice hour to yourself or with your partner then it’s worth a walk just behind the Houses of Parliament and slab bang along side the Thames.

Victoria Tower Gardens is a public park along the north bank of the River Thames in London. As its name suggests, is adjacent to the Victoria Tower, the south-western corner of the Palace of Westminster. Very nice and green park where you can seat and enjoy of a thames river. Very close to Big Ben. Recommend to visit in autumn.

A very quick visit with our little dude after a boat trip from Tower of London. Took him to see all the County flags outside parliament before coming to the park. A lovely wee spot by the river where he could run and enjoy himself surrounded by trees and greenery. You'd almost forget you're in the city. Well worth dropping into if it's on your route.

Absolutely lovely little garden/park space with a great view over the Thames. Fantastic place to come and have a little picnic in the summer. Would be a great spot for tourists to sit and relax for a while as it’s in the Westminster area and you’re close to many tourist locations and sites.

This park has one of the most beautiful view of the Houses of Parliament and River Thames. Looks so pretty in Autumn with all the leaves on the floor. Perfect for quick stop lunch by the river Thames if you are working around this area.

Lovely quiet little garden by the Thames next to Westminster Houses of Parliament Has the statue for Emmeline Pankhurst Political activist whose direct action helped obtain the women’s vote. Her most famous quote “You must make women count as much as men and You must have an equal standard of morals”

Wonderful space for a stroll. The views of the Parliament on one side and the river flowing on the other side makes for quite a scenic walk. Its usually busy in the afternoons. Westminster Station is a short 10 minute walk from this park.

This is a nice little park situated near to the Houses of Parliament in Westminster, London. You can see the London Eye and a few other landmarks in London from this park. It’s also safe and fairly well lit in the evening (I visited at 18:30). The flowers also appear to be well cared for (i.e not dead or wilting). If you fancy a rest, this is a good place to visit.

It's nice to walk around this small open space near the parliament. The Buxton memorial is remarkable too! We walked all along the River Thames from the Tate Britain.

Lovely little park by the river next to the Houses of Parliament. Plenty of benches to eat your sandwiches on as you watch the river traffic and wonder what nefarious nonsense they're up to immediately downriver. The compact playground is thoughtfully equipped and seems safe, with a little sandpit and a stream of water you can pump yourself.

We love this park, a great area to run around. Even my 12 year old liked the park. The water rill was great fun and we all loved the chiming bell ground panels. My 12 year old loved the spinning roundabout thing. Great fun.

A lovely little park for kids. Cafe on site. However the toilets were closed which made it difficult with children. Not a lot of stuff but enough to keep kids happy for an hour. Lovely sandpit and is right by the river.

A beautiful Royal Park, as close to the fantastic Houses of Parliament as you can get. This park never seems to be as busy as some of the others nearby but boasts amazing views of Parliament and river Thames. The children's play area is really fun and safe. Amazing for a lunch/dinner time picnic in good weather.

Right next to Houses of Parliament, bordered by the Thames on one side. A lovely place to sit and relax in the centre of London.
