I love Osterley house. The house is amazing ( couldn't get in last time as it closes in winter). But the park is amazing and worth the visit.

This has to be the worst National Trust I have visited. Everyone who works there lacks any enthusiasm to offer good service. A couple of the volunteers excelled but it did not make up for the shocking service in the cafe, 3 jacket potatoes later resulted in a refund and going hungry. The staff were clearly disgruntled and had no idea who was in charge. The toilets were filthy and the human waste on the floor and toilet seat there when we arrived in the morning was still there when we left in the afternoon. A completely wasted property in the portfolio and needs better management and care.

Osterley Park is one of the last remaining complete country estates in London. It is over 500 acres in size, of which 356 acres are under the management of the National Trust. In the centre is a Georgian mansion with Tudor stable block complex and surrounding this are the formal gardens. Some blossom going on, but not much at the moment. It is a great place for your furry friends. The dogs are allowed in many places ( including the cafe where you can purchase some dog treats too, including ice cream!). Although check the map for restricted areas. Acquired by Thomas Gresham (1519-79) in 1562, the Osterley estate was a simple farmhouse before it was converted into a grand mansion. As we have been told by one of the guides, it was a summer house. The high profile status of Osterley Park in this period was cemented through Gresham's own reputation as a financial adviser to Queen Elizabeth I. The house is open, but only some rooms on the ground floor with a guide available to walk you through the history of the house. Apparently, the mains rooms ( upstairs) are under renovation at the moment. The Osterley Park & gardens It is currently operating by National trust. Plenty of parking spaces available. For members it is free, but for non-members it is £7 for the whole day. The cafe has a good selection of hot ( very well prepared ), cold food & drinks. We have really enjoyed that too! There is also gift shop available. All the staff there were very polite & helpful. We really loved our visit there & planning to come back again when the work on the mansion ( summer house) will be finished. Definitely recommend!

Lovely house and garden along with lakes, wooded areas and parkland. An oasis of peace and quiet in London. Although the house is not fully open, there was a small interesting exhibition on the ground floor, when we went. Plenty of parking, small cafe in the stable block. Very helpful and knowledgeable volunteers. Worth a visit!

Peace & tranquility in west London. Good car park, lovely walk around Osterley House with expert and friendly guides, nice tea room in the old stables, cute gift shop with picnic tables in the courtyard. The gardens were gorgeous, so well maintained and a nice lake with a variety of birds and ducks. You can also hire a bike if you don't fancy walking around this gorgeous National Trust property. So glad we visited. Brilliant all round.

Visited due to waiting for clients at Twickenham. Nice place to visit as a National Trust member, plenty of open space, only downside was the house wasn't fully open due to upgrades for the summer months, otherwise a relatively good experience, friendly staff & nice cafe. Definitely worth another visit once the house reopens.

I loved walking from Boston Manor House along the Brent, through horse filled pastures into Osterly Park finally to arrive at Osterly House's café. It was a glorious day and I felt like I was taking a walk in the countryside. No need to drive hours outside London when you can hop on the Piccalilli line and within 30min be amongst nature, riverbanks, pastures, forests and stately manors. It is fantastic!

Osterley House, also known as the Party Palace, quickly became one of our favorite historic houses. While it may not be the absolute best, it was the volunteers who truly made our experience exceptional. Their enthusiasm while sharing stories about the family and the house was infectious, leaving us with a strong desire to ask even more questions. We were so captivated that we ended up being the last ones to leave, and the staff had to literally shut the doors on us. It seemed they genuinely enjoyed our company as well. Unfortunately, as we made our way to the park, we were greeted by a sudden thunderstorm. While it provided a much-needed break from the heat, it also meant we had to forgo exploring the gardens. However, my wife managed to make a quick sketch, and we made a point to visit the gift shop. I highly recommend stopping by the shop solely for its aesthetic appeal. In summary, Osterley House is a must-visit destination for families. The combination of its rich history and the engaging volunteers create an unforgettable experience. Don't miss out on this hidden gem!

One of the biggest park in West London under London borough of Hounslow. What a lovely place for walking and jogging early in the morning. Lovely paths and tracks which is a huge enough for cycling as well as walking. The house is not opened yet and there's a nice coffee shop near which serves a good coffee and snacks with a reasonable prices. Plenty of benches outside the house for a good relax and eat. Toilets are close by near to the house and coffee shop with a restricted timings. Car parking is at good place and near which has plenty of space with a fixed pricing. There's a big pond with swan, ducks and geese which makes park looks very beautiful. Overall a good location to visit and relax our day. Only it lacks of children's play area and an open gym for public.

It’s a very beautiful and amazing park. Feels as if you are amidst nature in the busiest city. One of the biggest park near Hounslow Borough. They have a beautiful word swans and ducks. There is a cycle for hire. Cycling locally would love to cycle here as there is good Cycle tracks. The entrance to the Osterley garden and the house is charged. You need to get a ticket if you wish to visit it. The park and pond views are totally free

A lovely place to spend a few hours. There is a good size garden to walk around with half of it planted up with herbaceous plants and the other informal woodland. There is also an estate to walk around with a couple of waymarked routes. The house wasn't open when we visited but looks great from the outside. There is a large carpark which is about 5 minute walk from the house and garden. Cafe sells a good range of hot and cold snacks and drinks. Staff are really friendly and always helpful.

The park is big enough to ride a bicycle 🚲 we may come back with bicycles next time. It’s a fun to visit the party place of house and garden. They have toilet and cafe too.!! And little store. Great fun 🤩

Nice place for adults and kids alike. If you like to walk in the nature undisturbed, this is the place to be. Despite the cold weather, the kids liked to find the Pater Rabbit clues and watch the nature around.

The park is a magical place that I enjoy going to with my loved ones for some peace and quiet. It brings harmony to my life, especially on weekends after work. The peacefulness of the area is unbelievable and I feel grateful to have such a wonderful place to retreat to.

2 car parks, parking £7 for the day for non national trust members. Dog friendly place to visit. Dogs welcome inside the cafe with dedicated area for visitors with dogs, dogs allowed in the gardens in winter only. House tour had very experienced and enthusiastic staff giving information. Lovely place to visit with children and dogs.

A little visit before picking up someone from Heathrow. Lovely house and would definitely go back to see it all. Nice grounds for a walk, and loads of dog walkers taking advantage. Nice tea room.

Nice open space, about a hundred and forty acres. There is a charge to enter the house but the park is free. Parking can be had on the road outside at weekends only, if you can find a space or in the official car park on the grounds. There are two lakes some scattered trees and not much else.

What a lovely place! We live so close but never actually visited. The kids all loved it!! Lovely paths and tracks as well as some good off-road walks/paths through fields and small wooded areas! The terrain all round is reasonably flat so easy to get round with a pram or junior bicycles and even easier for larger bikes or scooters. There is a a nice coffee shop which serves a good range of drinks and snacks/bites and the prices are reasonable. There is also a lovely seated area with plenty of benches just outside. Handy toilets are also close by - just be aware of timings. One surprise was the pretty cool bike track which has some good turns and undulations which is suitable for all ages - even with stabilisers!! Car park has plenty of space and again fixed pricing is reasonable, whether you want to visit for a couple of hours or spend the entire day! Really enjoyable, relaxing and highly recommended. We will definitely be visiting again.

Amazing place, lovely wide paths for people and bikes. Lakes are clean and tidy. The main house is also stunning. Points to note: 1. Parking is £7 (all day ticket only) this is by paybyphone app no cash no. 2. Bike hire in the main park and only £5 for two hours 3. Cafe, shops and second hand book shop in the main park.

Lovely spot. Very scenic and beautiful. Had a picnic with my boyfriend. You can rent a bicycle and a canoe. Lovely option to go for cycle along the cycle trail. Can't wait to go again with bikes. We drove and there was free parking along the ramp up towards to park. Flat ground for yoga and badminton. Osterley house is gorgeous also. Spacious enough to not be too busy so we had privacy for our picnic.

A very grand house with lots of history, designed so beautifully and a lovely quaint place for a walk... We parked just outside, the main road has free parking after 12pm vs. £7 car park fee. A nice walk in past lots of horses..only downside were the renovations on the cafe, outdoor space surrounded by scaffolding which took away the charm.. . We had a lovely tasty lunch followed by a cream tea that was yum

  • 5/5 okay, this is e. 1 year ago on Google
We had a great day out here. The house itself is magnificent and filled with lavish decoration and furnishings to admire. There are staff members located in each room who provide information and can answer questions. The grounds are extensive and a great place to go for a long walk or a cycle. However, the kitchen garden was the highlight for me. A beautiful walled garden overflowing with vibrant colours and smells. Definitely don't miss that.

Visited here when the house was closed over the winter. Access to the car par is along a drive which opens out to the car park. Free for members or £7 per day otherwise. It was fairly busy even for a weekday afternoon, as this place is popular with dog walkers. The main focus seems to be on the house, boundary walk, garden and meadow. There are also a couple of parts where you can cycle, seemed to be a lot of walkers on these tracks though when I visited. There was an opportunity to see some of the house during my visit. Due to an excellent exhibition on the ground floor describing the conservation work carried out over the winter. All the volunteers inside each room were extremely helpful and happy to provide information. You get a glimpse of the impressive staircase and ceiling murial from the ground floor. Really impressive garden even during the winter months. The trees and plants are very well looked after with lots of name tags so you know what you are seeing. Well worth taking the boundary walk to enjoy views of the house across the lake. Good place to observe planes landing at Heathrow. Definitely going back once the house opens up again around February-March time

My first visit but I hope not my last. Stunning house, could have gone round twice. The grounds are beautifully laid out and so peaceful. Lovely facilities and welcoming, helpful staff. Delicious food. Extra thanks to the kindly cafe staff member who gave us a free fresh scone at closing time so as not to waste it! Prepare to spend all day here!

Opulent house and beautifully landscaped garden. You can find respite and serenity in the garden away from the crowds in Osterley park. The benches are so inviting specially at this time of the year (summer). 1 less star because they don’t have enough volunteers and the upper floors of the house were not opened when we visited.

  • 5/5 Maroushka W. 1 year ago on Google
Beautiful house, with amazing highly decorated ceilings. Exceptional Asian artifacts. Very nice garden, left mostly wild except for one corner behind the stables. The shop had the usual NT stuff but not many specifically related to the place.

  • 4/5 David S. 1 year ago on Google
Beautiful house, with lovely walks around the formal gardens, wild meadows and lake. There are lots of seats scattered around where you can just sit and take in the views. The café/restaurant in the old stable is cosy with plenty of outdoor seating, but only had a very limited menu (although I visited on a quiet day in midweek). The staff were friendly and helpful.

  • 5/5 Chris G. 10 months ago on Google
Great place for a family outing, walk in the park or even a weekend ParkRun. It’s a huge site with loads of paths to explore, green space and lakes. You can access the front of house and most of the grounds without paying an entry ticket (though you may need to pay for parking if you aren’t a National Trust member). House and formal gardens are well worth a visit if you’re a fan of classical houses, Georgian history and landscape gardens - it’s worth viewing the house for the Long Gallery alone! The wisteria was out last time I was there and also a snap ahead of a running race!

  • 4/5 Valerie G. 10 months ago on Google

Such a hidden gem on the outskirts of London! Well worth a visit. The volunteers are incredibly knowledgeable and happy to share the history of the house with you. The bluebells were still out when we were there and it was great to see a carpet of them.

I did not expect such beautiful and spacious park here in Isleworth. Tried it once, and really liked it! Beautiful mansion, large green areas, walking paths, pond with a lot of birds and big trees, ideal combination! Dogs allowed. There is a coffee point at the entrance to park near the parking, and a cafe located just near the main mansion in the building that was stables in the past (so it is called "Stables Cafe"). Due to COVID restriction there was no seating place at all and no benches nearby, so I preferred to take a coffee at the first location as there was a bench to sit on. You can pay to enter the so-called inner gardens, 5 pounds per person (I bought beforehand online, as there were COVID limitations), free for toddlers, it is kinda botanical arrangement, nothing to see in the winter really, but anyway very green walking paths, fresh air, much recommended. There is only one toilet at the site, near the Stables Cafe. It is quite clean and free. There was soap, warm water, toilet paper in place. Good job. Parking located inside the park is costly, 7 pounds no matter how long you stay. So I preferred parking my car free on Sunday on side roads and taking a walk there. And take good boots, in autumn and winter it is super muddy!

Very nice park, lots of lovely trees and ducks, swan, horses, 🐄. I really enjoyed the views and the house. Park parkings is expensive, cost 7 pounds per day. If you pay with app regardless of you stay less, you still have to pay 7. Park closes at 5pm.

Never gets old and still one my best places to come ... besides the new way of living and practicing social distancing I think the number of people who come have increased to the pandemic and seeing lots of people being active is great to see and I guess using their time spent outside is better than indoors... thanks osterley park for being a great space for me and for others during this last year. Looking forward to coming by a few more times this year 🙌

Went on a Sunday and got there around 2.30pm when most things close at 4pm. It was still an amazing experience and my first national trust visit. The bike hire was very enjoyable and fuss free - although they only had hard-tail bikes for general usage (as opposed to a suspension bike which I would have preferred). Nevertheless it was cheaper than a boris bike. £3 per person per hour. It was refreshing riding around the whole park with music playing from my phone, very idyllic. Only downside was I thought the experience at the house would last longer, it was about 20 minutes. Nevertheless it was my first national trust experience so it is probably standard.
