Very relaxing park with lots of clean benches. Nice to sit and watch people walk by and squirrels playing. There is a nice cafe in the park as well, with lots of outdoor seating. It's really nice and quiet here in the middle of busy area. Such an oasis.

Wanted a nice coffee and some reasonably priced lunch before visiting the British Museum, and found a fantastic Italian cafe in a corner of Russell Square. Think about it ... instead of sitting on a table next to the road, or being stuck inside a stuffy cafe on a hot sunny day, you can enjoy your food and drink in a park - including free use of a decent toilet :)

Massive food court inside the Brunswick Centre right outside the tube station exit and a big public park literally a stones throw away. Very well connected to nearby Central London with many bus routes plying from in and around the area. The station building has a proper old world charm about it as do a few buildings around it. Very touristy area and some great independent restaurants and coffee shops around.

The is small park in square shape in the center of the city. It is well maintained and is mostly used by people to go from one end to another. The park has a fountain in the center, and it makes children play around it. This place is very calm even though surrounding the city bustling with traffic. Best place to get some rest anytime in the day.

The area is a nice area in London, Bloomsburry. First the square, the park. You find recreation there, in summer there are fountains thst cool down the place. An italian restaurant invites to come by. Many benches in the oark to sit diwn, relax and enjoy. Next the tubestation. Its oart of the Picadillyline. So you have direct access to Heathrow Airport, many places (Leicester Square, Green Park, Kensibgton, Kings Cross, Covent garden and many more). Then there are many hotels, within few steps from the station. Lage ones and small ones. Its nice to hsve a walk in thst area, some other parks nearby invite to visit. Supermarkets, restaurants, pubs, everything there. British Museum is only one or two streets away. I must say, i really like this area.

Park and Gardens are natural habours for our bodies and souls. As my institute is at the Russel Square area, I am a lucky girl to stay close to the beauty of Russel Square Gardens almost everyday. Here, I have seen reading, running, heared laughter, whisper, and all the other things that we do from sunrise to sunset. Here, I have witnessed the change of seasons and weathers through the blossoming and passing of flowers and leaves. Here we rest, and we find peace. I believe that every garden has its beauty, and we just need to use our eyes and heart to discover it. Hope you also enjoy the Russell Square Gardens and its reflection of a treasure of nature.

A nice little picturesque park to visit for a stroll or to relax. There was quite a buzz when we visited. We came over after seeing the British Museum and were able to wind down after all the excitement. We had some ice-cream from a nearby van. There's some nice grassy areas to lounge on as well as benches. The fountain is also lovely. I would recommend a visit!

One of the better areas in central London to sit and take a break or a stroll. Good cafe and a lot of seating. Very popular and used as a cut through to the British museum.

Russell Square and its adjacent park offer a delightful escape in the heart of London. The serene ambiance of the square is complemented by well-manicured gardens and historic surroundings. As you stroll through the park, you'll find a harmonious blend of nature and urban life. The vibrant atmosphere of Russell Square is enhanced by its cultural significance and architectural charm. The square itself boasts an iconic central fountain, providing a focal point for visitors to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Surrounding streets feature Victorian-era architecture, adding a touch of timeless elegance to the area. The park provides an oasis of greenery, offering respite from the bustling city. Lush lawns, tree-lined paths, and colorful flowerbeds create a picturesque setting for leisurely walks or peaceful picnics. During my visit, I appreciated the well-maintained pathways that meandered through the park, providing a sense of tranquility amid the urban hustle. Google Reviews for Russell Square and its park often highlight the friendly atmosphere, diverse flora, and opportunities for recreation. Visitors frequently commend the cleanliness and accessibility of the area. Whether you're a local seeking a peaceful retreat or a tourist exploring London's gems, Russell Square and its neighboring park provide a charming experience worth savoring.

Russell Square is a large garden square in Bloomsbury, London Borough of Camden. It is close to the main buildings of the Univey of London & the British Museum. Historic Russell Square is a large, historic city park dating back to the early 19th century and is the second largest square in London. It covers an area of approximately 2.5 hectares and has a café serving refreshments in the northeast corner of the park. Caffé Tropea is open from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM every day on weekdays and until 8:00PM on weekends, and is a London cafe with an Italian attitude run by the Tropea family. The Russell Square area is one of the most popular places to stay in London. As well as the iconic Kimpton Fitzroy Hotel (formerly Hotel Russell 1898 - 2019). The area is home to a cluster of some of London's largest hotels, including the three-star Royal National, President Hotel and Grange Whitehall Hotel.

One of London's many green spaces. On the small side compared with other parks and gardens, yet still projects that feel you get when your in a London green space. It's kept clean and well managed, litter bins are regularly emptied, a very pleasant little area.

Lovely place to spend an afternoon. Breeze combined with the high fountain made for just the right amount of cooling on a warm day. Shame about some shady characters hanging around, but was a lovely park.

Mostly uncrowded, with social distancing mostly observed. Although today I did not walk across the square through the gardens so could not say for sure how crowded (or disciplined) those walking or exercising are at present.

Good size square with lots of shade. Cafe in the corner if you want some coffee or use the loo. Close to the tube so easy to get too. The fountain in the centre gives it a great sense of calm as the water gurgles away.

Be aware that this station requires either a trip in an elevator or a long trip down the stairs. This can be a right pain during rush hour and it is a station where I thoroughly suggest to avoid peak times.

Pleasant if unremarkable garden square in Bloomsbury. Lots of shade & an impressive fountain which kids love on hot sunny days. There's an expensive cafe which always has lengthy queues. Unfortunately a lot of dog walkers let their dogs off leash resulting in the flower beds being trampled. So Russell Square is not as pretty as it could be but still a nice spot to relax.

A small park and green space that is located near the Russell Square Tube Station. There are numerous entries to this park in a very busy area of London. 15 minutes walk to the transport hub, Euston Station and 25 minutes walk to King's Cross or 5 minutes by the underground. There is a cafe located in the park, but there are many places to eat outside. The are quite few hotels located within 5 minutes of the park, so if staying in London it is a good place to be.

This is such a lovely square. In it's so nice to see it full off happy children and people who've managed to escape Afghanistan especially in the evenings. The garden are so full of life and activity. My only complaint is that the bins are never emptied properly so there are rather a lot of mice.

Quick access to Covent Garden are surrounding areas via lifts. Would not recommend the stairs. Station gets very busy on weekends so often there are queues. Leicester Square station also on Piccadilly Line is a 6 minute walk away, if you are willing to go the extra distance.

The Monday morning leading to Christmas. Non peak hours for a square/garden in the city of London. Winter scenes. Good place for some quick solace. Located in Bloomsbury bang opposite Imperial Hotel and close to the tube station of the same name. A little greenary, a little relative quietness, can work wonders.

Very nice park spot, perfect for taking the dogs and family for a walk or for having a quick bitw drying your lunch break. There are several bus spots nearby so it's easy to get around. At night, the hotel from across the street is lighted on like in the picture, which makes for a breathtaking view from the park.

We came across this Lovely Garden whilst out on a walk and visiting from Scotland. What a Lovely tranquil place, there are also a few benches where you can sit and read a book or just sit and listen to the birds. The Gandi statue added a pleasant surprise and a little history and talking point. Would recommend and really worth a visit

This is a lovely little park. We visited in January 2022. There’s the cutest little area called the Russell Square Bug Hotel. Please see the photos for more information.

On a direct underground line from Heathrow. Lots of hotels in the area. Round the corner from British Museum. Short underground ride or 15 min walk to Leicester Square. Nice cafe in NE corner of the park.

What a lovely park to shoot the breeze in! Or cut through to reach other destinations 😁. We did both! Clean benches, nice grass area and well kept throughout. The water feature a great central point!

The park is meticulously maintained, with well-manicured lawns, vibrant flowers, and neatly trimmed hedges. It is evident that a lot of care and attention goes into keeping this park in pristine condition. The cleanliness and tidiness of the surroundings added to the overall charm of the place. The park also offers a variety of amenities to cater to different interests. From well-maintained walking paths for a leisurely stroll to spacious green areas for sports and recreational activities, there was something for everyone. I particularly enjoyed finding a quiet spot under a shady tree to relax and read a book. It was a tranquil oasis amidst the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Furthermore, the park's location is quite convenient. Whether you're a local resident or a tourist exploring the area, you'll find this park to be a welcoming and accessible destination.
