Postman’s Park is one of the most beautiful gardens/ parks in the city. The park occupies the space of previous churchyards as you can see in many of the gravestones placed around the walls. The park opened in 1880 becaming very popular leisure time resort for the post office workers based nearby. As a result, the park soon became known as "Postman's Park." In the park you can find a moving memorial to “ordinary” people who sacrificed their lives to save others.

This is a lovely quiet and secluded park just round the back of St. Paul’s Cathedral. This is my go to destination to have my lunch when I have a walk around London. It’s beautiful in the summer when the flowers have all bloomed and it’s a little oasis in the middle of the City of London. The other reason I first visited was to look at some of the plaques and tributes on display under the covered area of people who have done something very heroic. Some of the stories are truly amazing and heart breaking. It’s a nice place to take a small family for a picnic as there is plenty of grass to put a blanket down. I would highly recommend a visit. I’ll be going back in May 😊

What a hidden gem. Whatever you see online doesn’t do any justice to the beauty of this garden. The sound of the water combined with the sounds of the bees in such a busy place in London hits differently. The place is located between building and seems very small and hidden at first sight, once you’re in you can feel the fountains and the smell of the flowers everywhere. Beautiful place!

A super beautiful little garden/park wedged between two major streets in the city of London. Has a wonderful ‘wall of remembrance’ which is worth venturing to and looking at. Has a pond with tropical fish, which is well protected! Well landscaped, good amount of benches and a great place to relax or have lunch or go on a date! As seen in closer 😅

A great spot for a bit of lunch, but also if you are looking for an interesting and thought-provoking part of London. Aside from the beautiful gardens check out the sad, inspiring and heart wrenching memorials to those who lost their lives rescuing others. A truly unique part of London.

A beautiful little park at the center of London. This park is dedicated to those unsung heroes who put their lives on the line to save others. People from all walks of life are honored here. There are some very old plaques as well as a few new ones. Ages are varied, from children to adults. It was heartbreaking reading the information on the plaques, especially when the soul lost was that of a child. The park is very clean and kept up. The noise of the traffic doesn't interfere with the serenity of the park. There are plenty of benches on which to sit and have a lunch. Wheelchair accessible.

Such a peaceful place in the middle of the city, you couldn't hear any traffic! Garden in full bloom and somewhere quiet to relax. The memorial wall was very moving, but sad. If you are nearby, I would recommend a visit, perhaps take a book or some lunch.

A beautiful, tiny garden that seems hidden and enclosed by tasteful buildings. A nice spot for a quick rest and lunch bite near the busy St Paul area.

Beautiful, cosy park situated between two main roads, nearby the hospital and commercial buildings. Perfect place to take rest, read a book and have a coffee. An asylum in the roaring city that never sleeps! The unique thing about the park is the garden of rememberance of heroic self sacrifice. Ordinary people that devoted their life are memorized on the wall. One of many is Alice Ayers whose name was "taken" by Natalie Portman in the movie "Closer".

One of the hidden delights proving that the City, the Square Mile has so much. Next to the old GPO home, aside from the church, it's main piece is Watts' memorial to those who gave their lives trying to save others including a ten year old lady in 1894. Quietly moving place.

A place I learned about some time ago and finally got to see. A wonderful, quiet, meaningful space in the busy City of London. Poignant and thoughtful.

Located between St Paul's and The museum of London is this beautifully well kept park. Has loads of history and commemorative plaques of the heroic saviours of London.

Postman’s Park is a delightful retreat tucked behind the Anglican Church of St Botolph. It would be easy to walk past the narrow entrance, but once inside a shady oasis opens up. Mature London plane trees, ferns and even a banana plant flourish in this tiny park so called because workers from the once nearby General Post Office used to come here for lunch. It was created from the amalgamation of three church yards but it’s most notable feature is the memorial created by GF Watts at the turn of the 19th century. His inspiration was those ordinary people who had sacrificed their lives in saving others. A wooden shelter houses ornate Victorian tiles, each one commemorating someone who made the ultimate sacrifice. It makes for sobering reading. Benches and grass provide a rest spot for weary travellers or workers.

A very calm place in the busy city to relax and enjoy the beautiful flowers in the small garden. There were memoirs about the person's bravery on a wall too.

I enjoy visiting this small patch of green to get away from bustle of tourist sites. The memorial wall is touching, wonderful, as well as quenching need for history.

A lovely and peaceful place to come and reflect or simply take a break from the busyness of life. Come to read the commemoration of heroic self sacrifice plaques, admire the flower beds or enjoy the architecture surrounding the garden.

Very peaceful even with lots of people taking their lunch break here. Quaint and beautiful but at the same time poignant. The stories of those who gave their lives saving others are absorbing and inspiring. Bring back faith in humankind.

A lovely tranquil quiet spot in the heart ❤️ of the city! Especially good at the weekends as there are less people around.

Lovely spot for peace and quiet. The place was the lunch venue for postmen as the name suggests. Incredible touching memorial to civilians who lost their lives saving others. Very touching and sad. The setting is often used in films and drama's. Great place to relax and thin.

Such a beautiful memorial. There should be more memorials like this one, honouring the heroes of daily life who gave their own life for the sake of someone else.

A little disappointed by lack of flowers. But in general still a very quiet place to hide away from the hustle and bustle on a day out. Lots of green grass to sit on and plenty of free benches as well.

An oasis of calm in the city. This is a small park with plenty of seating on which to rest and relax. The Memorial Wall is a moving tribute to Londoners' self-sacrifice when saving other peoples lives. I would definitely recommend visiting here if you are in this part of London and need some peace and quiet.

Such a lovely, little oasis, tucked away in the centre of London. A 'must visit' place - if you can find it!

A fairly small, peaceful park in the city. The big differentiator is the wall of remembrance, commemorating people that sacrificed for others. Worth a 10 minute walkthrough of in the area, though wouldn’t necessarily seek it out.

A nice peaceful pocket park to sit in. The memorial is very interesting too.

A quiet gem just away from the bustle. The Watt’s Loggia with beautiful ceramic plaques dedicated to sad tales of self-sacrifice gives the place a still, melancholy atmosphere suited to contemplation.
