Malet Street Gardens

Park

👍👍 A little oasis, shaded by tall trees & green bushes in the middle of concrete town. No grass, only hard soil. About 10 benches scattered around the gardens. Open April to September, Monday to Friday from 11:00 to 15:00. Love coming here at lunch time. Very peaceful & relaxing. People often mention Ramadan,

This small sunken park the aggregated former private back gardens of a Georgian terrace facing Gower Street. Enclosed by a formidable 'stubbed' wall and magisterial gates, find mature trees and a few desultory plants. The space is saturnine, dull and enervated. The elaborate 'over' wrought-iron gates and fences delineating entries to the properties in the park an inkling of the historic perceptions regarding privilege, privacy, permission and the public.

A gloomy space which hasn't been well tended for years but generally quiet. Good for eating some lunch

It has approximately 10 benches and is a great place to read a book under the trees. Being in London, I can tell you that an other great thing about the thick canopy of the trees is that when its slightly rainy, you don't get wet. Only ten benches and below street level, but it has high walls and so its not visible to the street which makes it feel more "hidden". Always stop here when i get a chance.

The opening hours say 11-3, Mon-Fri, April to September. However, they seem to open and close this park at random times. It's currently closed right now (Monday Lunchtime)
