A tidy, neat looking and cosy park in the middle of hustle and bustle. Lots of people enjoying the weather and peace for lunch or coffee breaks.

Beautifully tended by a Trust that is the oldest of its kind in England, dating back to 1726, this square does feel like another dimension -of beauty, of tranquility, especially being so close to Picadilly Circus- upon entering through one of its 3 entrances. Several sculptures under majestic trees and benches all around it offer a quality space for unwinding, for sipping coffee or reading a book or doing whatever one enjoys in peace. It's worth reading the history of the square on its site, linked here on Maps.

There are two very similar sounding heavyweight cathedrals in one vicinity but other than their common first names, they have nothing in common. The one in question Westminster cathedral is made only of bricks and surrounded by modern glass buildings. It's pale colour scheme doesn't help it stand out and it's unusual design doesn't let it blend in with anything either. It is very strange looking and despite its huge size, it's not imposing or serious like gothic architecture. It's almost like that it was designed for children because it can easily be in any Disneyland and no one will ask any question. I mean they gave it white stripy dress but also a very dull colour. Might as well paint it bright and avoid all confusion. However its interior is where it gets serious. It's not only huge but really beautiful too with multiple chapels within. Inside you'll find all bells and whistles that you expect in a grand church of this size.

(Translated by Google) My favorite church in London that no visit is missing. It's a bit off the beaten track and that's why it's never overcrowded. Beautiful little chapels. And the view of the city from the tower (with elevator) is great. Also cheaper than other viewpoints.

(Translated by Google) A beautiful building that is not as flashy as St. Paul's Cathedral Enter for free without admission Of course you can donate It seems that it is possible to climb the tower by elevator, but there seems to be a fee I'm not climbing so I don't know the details When I went, I think that the ratio of tourists and followers was about half There was also a souvenir shop (Original)

Amazing place to visit, if you are a tourist it is a MUST GO! The beauty of the park is at the highest level. Animals live there freely and have no taxes) of course the Buckingham Palace is close by but it isn’t always open and I personally preferred the park I’ve the Palace. I would rate it a 9/10.

A wonderful concrete, car graveyard whereby if you pay upwards of £7 an hour(for the diesel car driver)you can leave your car and look at the empty, overly expensive shops in Londons glittering west end.

A private square and gardens in the exclusive St James's district. There's a statue of William III in the centre of the gardens. The gardens are normally open to the public on weekdays from 7.30am to 4.30pm, other than that there's lots of very expensive occupied by very rich people and companies. Not much to see really and time would be better spent elsewhere, especially as Piccadilly Circus, Oxford Street, Soho etc are all so close by.

Idyllic and beautifully kept gardens. Some nice sculpture and they often show pieces of public artwork from local galleries. This is a lovely space not far from Piccadilly and the crowds and all the hustle and bustle. I really like the elk on the bottom South West side corner this is a really nice sculpture hidden away in the flower beds and have to say the planting is very nice. Westminster Council have done a really good job and this square is under constant attention and refurbishment so well done

A great place to visit, I implore you to ignore these false negatives reviews about this church is full of corruption and Smells clearly untrue this is offensive towards the church. This church has always been clean they only ask for a small donations if you can, how anyone can say this is corruption I think there visiting the wrong place clearly needs mental help. I'm sure the regulars that attend will agree with the accurate postive reviews. I can only assure it's fantastic to have this church much appreciated by many.

(Translated by Google) Little known to tourists, this cathedral, from the top of its tower, offers a beautiful view of the capital for a few books instead of the 25 books of The Eye (the tourist trap always crowded!). Lots of space to sit out in the summer, on a cold winter's day you'll have your choice of benches too! The falafel stall at the back of St James Piccadilly is only a stone's throw away - my top tip for a plant based lunch is to grab a wrap from there and then chill out in the park eating it and enjoying the surroundings

Elegant Georgian buildings surround this tranquil green space just off Picadilly. The gardens have the feel of a private garden but are open to the public till 4pm Mon-Fri. Formal but not stuffy. Good side view of the Haymarket theatre if you pick the right bench.

St james Square is to say the least beautiful its memorial to the police officer shot down all them years ago is just beautiful. The whole area has such amazing history and its my advice if your a keen walker and history lover head down that way explore and take in the such beautiful history.

What a pleasant green park in the middle of London. The only one in all of Westminster! Faced by some magnificent buildings that are home to various private clubs and the London Library. Infamously, Policewoman Yvonne Fletcher was shot and killed here during a demonstration outside the Libyan Embassy. You can find the site on the eastern side of the square, denominated by a historical marker. The gardens are normally locked by 4.30 pm.

Visitation here is the Cathedral was very well organised for Confessions. No long queues, it was super quick. The Crib was situated as you entered the main front door. It was much better here than it's usual location down the far end of the Cathedral. It was well managed with social distancing throughout & no long queues which was great and a huge improvement to the normal Christmas long queues. Everyone could go in & pray in a very safe environment. Well done to all involved.

What a wonderful surprise of Westminster Cathedral. This neo-Byzantine architecture catholic church is one of my favorites. Although the mosaics work hasn’t been completed yet, it’s still very impressive. In fact, the black brick walls and ceilings make it more dramatic. They have been working on the mosaics since then, piece-by-piece but I can’t imagine when the whole walls and ceilings will be completed any time soon. The sun shines through the back windows adds a lot of characters to it also. It was a special thing for us to attend a mass conducted in Latin.

Someone in this area has put up laminated 'no dogs allowed' signs despite the fact it is not listed as a 'no dogs' park by Westminster Council and despite the Google listing saying it is dog friendly. I think local residents have taken to policing this themselves for some reason... I got chased off by a nasty woman who claimed to live on the square (although did not seem like she did) who very aggressively approached me to tell me off about my dog. I live in the area myself and this seems so unnecessarily divisive and nasty.

This is the most peaceful and beautiful garden square in central London. Close to theatres and Fortnum and Mason. Quite small. The only square I like better is Edwardes Square in Kensington W8 near The Design Museum - but this is a private square for private residents. Members of the public can access it one weekend in the year during Open Garden Squares weekend .
