Beautiful NT house & garden, well maintained, staff were extremely welcoming they went above and beyond to answers all the questions my little ones had to ask😊 our house tour was excellent. Our added bonus was we were the only visitors on the premises. Located in Hampstead, a short walk from the family friendly Golders Hill Park made our day an excellent one My only negative would be... I wish we stayed longer Tip: bring a picnic!

4.5 stars. A National Trust home with a small entry fee. The home houses several collections as well as art works. There are needlework, porcelain and harpsichords. The harpsichords are played daily, a very good experience, you dont get to hear a harpsichord played very often. The gardens are worth the price of the visit. Essentially as they were originally designed with formal and working areas.

The floors are manned by volunteers who are so helpful and knowledgable, they will explain anything to you The garden is a joyful place to wander round and loved the orchard and the small greenhouse. Walled gardens are just such brilliant places go grow healthy and vibrant plants, the garden is kept in really nice condition. Fenton House is a must visit place which I hope people do in numbers as this is somewhere I am going to visit whenever I get time. Highly recommended and such a nice place to visit

House full of porcelain, variety of paintings and harpsichords galore. Lovely formal garden and orchard. Limited opening, so check before going and no cafe.

Beautiful house, scarce on the furniture at the moment - and none of it is the original - built up from local collectors to the area. 17 authentic Harpsichord and occasionally a gentlemen who plays them will be in once a month to wow you with Tudor sounding tunes while you walk the grounds and house. fantastic gardens, hard to believe they’ve only been around for 30 years. Would highly recommend a visit.

I recently had the chance to visit Fenton House and Garden. While the house, boasting a collection of paintings and musical instruments, didn't impress me as much, the gardens were a standout feature. They offered an array of horticultural wonders that left my wife and I brimming with ideas for our own future garden. The staff greeted us warmly and accommodated us graciously despite our last-minute visit. The volunteers were kind, though the narratives could use a bit more flair. The introductory tour of the house was interesting but paled in comparison to the allure of the gardens. On a sunny day, the gardens offer an idyllic spot for a picnic. While the house itself might not be the main attraction, I'd recommend Fenton House and Garden to anyone looking for garden inspiration or a peaceful retreat in the city.

A beautiful stately home in Hampstead either a wonderful walk through Regents Park (appx 6 km) or a short walk from the underground. A beautiful sunken garden can be visited before you enter the house. A selection of old keyboard instruments are displayed and often played.

Fenton House is a hidden gem. The gardens are a quiet place to escape the hustle and bustle of London. So much so that it's easy to forget that you're in a city. Despite visiting in autumn, they were still beautifully overgrown and a delight to explore. The house itself is an interesting collection of porcelain and antique musical instruments. If possible, visit when they have a musician in playing one of the pianos to keep it "living". It adds yet another layer to the overall atmosphere of the attic spaces.

Lovely 17th century house in Hampstead. This National Trust house has a large collection of porcelain, tapestries, paintings and over musical instruments. It houses one of the oldest harpsichord in the world! Very lucky to actually meet Nick, a musician who played three of the harpsichords beautifully. This was oyr highlight of the visit. Nick also explained how the instruments worked and their history. Great to listen to him, he was amazing. The gardens are gorgeous and well maintained. There is an orchard with a large number of apple trees. Lots of visitors which was nice. The house is only open on Fridays and Sundays and you need to book your visit. If you are an NT member you will need your card even if you have a digital ticket. Absolutely no idea why. Fenton House is about a 15 minute walk from Hampstead Heath overground. You have to walk past another National Trust property to get there but 2 Willow Road is not open on the same days which is a shame.

Excellent collection of Chinese porcelain and hand embroidered portraits and one of the largest collection of working harpsichords. Gardens are well maintained.

This beautiful 17th-century house is a hidden gem in London, a place of unique charm and ambience. Lady Binning bought the house in 1936 and filled it with her highly decorative collections of porcelain, Georgian furniture and 17th-century needlework. Boasting plenty of English, european, Chinese and Japanese historical items. The sound of early keyboard instruments (approximately 12 throughout the property) and the colours of early 20th-century drawings and paintings add to a captivating experience. A lovely location if you’re around Hampstead. I had not expected the size of the gardens and orchid area. It really does feel like your out of London. There are nicely locate chairs and seats for the public to just enjoy the environment, sunshine and the insects and birds. And those apples, very tempting to taste it’s juicy inner! Helpful national trust staff as always.

Beautiful house. It's not really meant to be a house of significance however has a fantastic collection of playable harpsichords and lots of porcelains. If you go on Sundays the person in charge of maintaining the instruments actually plays them!

A gem of a National Trust property a short tube ride from central London. It is a 10 minute wald from Hampstead tube which incidentally is the deepest station on the network. The house hosts a collection bon klaviers and harpsichords in almost every room. The garden is also a must, spanning either into next doors boundary or the servants quarters. We went when the orchard was fruiting which was very fortunate.

Fenton House is a 17th-century merchant's house in Hampstead in North London which belongs to the National Trust, bequeathed to them in 1952 by Lady Binning, its last owner and resident. It is a detached house with a walled garden, which is large by London standards, and features a sunken garden, an orchard and a kitchen garden.

Visited last weekend. The staff welcomed us very warmly. We thoroughly enjoyed this visit as the house, paintings, furniture and artifacts are very unique. The most amazing thing is there are many old harpsichords in working condition. We heard most of them as staff in the house are very generous. Last but not the least the garden is very beautiful and worth a visit. Lots of apple trees.

What a gorgeous hidden gem! Hampstead Village itself is charming and attractive. Walk up Holly Mount and you'll discover this historic oasis with beautifully landscaped walled gardens. The house is charming yet the gardens are its crowning glory. Well worth the visit!

When they say former trader's home - I think they mean former slaver. Back when it was first built, this must've been like watching a footballer move in. It's worth a nosey around (unless you really hate The National Trust) and must be one of the highest vantage points over London. You get a good view looking over to the South East, towards The City and Docklands.

Great house and garden. But entry price expensive. Try to go on an "open door" day. There is a great collection of musical instruments and if you like it porcelain figures. The garden is really worth going on a nice day.

This is a lovely National Trust Property just up the Hill from Hampstead Tube Station. The house is very well kept inside and from the top floor you can see Canary Wharf. The gardens are large and very well kept and would be a joy to sit out in on a hot summer;s day.

The best collection of the old keyboards ever. They are all playable unlike in many other museums. You just need to pass the exam to be allowed to touch them. Simply incredible. All in perfect order, very well maintained. The house is a treat. And the garden is a dream. Do visit.

Gets an extra star for lovely, well-maintained garden (hidden levels which go beyond the apparent view from the house). House interior lacks information boards to help guide and interest the visitor. Pictures and artefacts were also quite unimpressive.

This is a lovely house set in the leafy area of Hampstead. Spread over 2 floors and a loft area that gives access to an external balcony with great views. Each room has various items of interest, albeit Porcelain jugs, cups, saucers, etc, or musical instruments like harpsichord and old pianos. On a Wednesday many of the instruments are professionally played starting at 1430. There is a lovely garden area to take in the sun during warm days. There are volunteer national trust guides on each floor who are more than willing to pass on their knowledge about the house. The only improvement for me would be for them to provide a small tea, coffee and light snacks area, as it would be nice to sit the gardens with a coffee and a biscuit

Beautiful middle class vintage home. Servants quarters upstairs were very sparse and little disappointing. The people on each floor knew their stuff, and were quirte happy to share and answer questions. The garden was stunning, and also had garden games out to play. The butler's quarters has a few books and activities for the kids to help fundraise. Very reasonable. Lovely place
