Receptionist Laura is the worst I ever dealt with. Extremely lazy, unhelpful and rude. Mistaken the keys. Hardly answered any simple question. I've been in 100s of hotels and never seen something like that. This is unacceptable. All the other receptionists were lovely.

Feeling very ripped off. Not usually one to complain but the room and bed size are definitely NOT as advertised. The two rooms I rented are nothing like the photos, and “deluxe double” is a gross misnomer. I’ve stayed in lots of European hotels and so don’t have outsized expectations. But here, in addition to ridiculously tiny room, bed is less than a double size barely fitting two adults. When I raised my issues right away, was stonewalled by a surly staff member and then lied to a second time. Was assured we would be moved today to a larger room/bed - but am now told it’s not possible. And they have already taken full payment on check in…. Don’t be taken in by the false advertising.

Room was a bit small but hey it is London. The amenities were everything we needed. The location was central to transport. And when checked out, they kindly offered and held our bags for 3-4 hours until we had to catch our flight. Overall excellent experience with staff and accommodations. Thank you!

It is a typical British hotel with all the advantaged and disadvantages. Pro: bathroom facilities, tea and water boiler in the room. Helpful staff, excellent location, close to metro and Sainsbury's Local shop, as well as Kensington and Hyde parks. Cons: not soundproof rooms even with the nice full carpet. We could hear our upper level neighbour's steps on the wooden floor and our neighbours' fight, and the lift bell. And the lift goes on forever, it's tough luck if your room is next to the shaft. It was really hard to sleep. Earplugs are recommended if you prefer to sleep in silence! Also, you cannot make the room completely dark as you only have curtains to do so that have a small gap at their endings. So if you are sensitive to light, make sure to pack some blinders. The room gets pretty hot easily, but you can open up the windows to compensate without having to turn on the AC. Probably most of these nice and cozy hotels have wooden floor with carpets.

Really small room for 2 adults...won't go into details, but even sitting on the toilet was interesting! Lack of space for clothes. Service was ok when there was enough staff on. Lack of restaurant, lack of bar, bed was knackered (springs were protruding)....all reported to the hotel. Fixtures and fittings in the hotel in poor state of repair. Bought one room through Wowcher, other room direct with the hotel. Won't be staying again.

Read for full detail Not going to lie for the price I paid £79 in London for one night it wasn’t bad great location near lots of Malaysian restaurants and that evening we went to watch uncle roger tour. Best place for Malaysian food before the show. 2 min walk to central line to the main city or Bayswater less than a min walk. Down side is that the under counters are dusty and we had a 6 am wake up call by someone pulling the fire Alarm twice! The showers was a little scaly and brown but just don’t look at it. Bed was alright did the job just to sleep and explore the next day. Doors are not well sound proof as there’s gaps at the bottom. We stayed in top floor right next to the lift. All and all perfect for one night decent hotel

Well it wasn't whether I liked it or not but I stayed there as a key worker it was pleasant but the beds weren't like home no lumps and bumps but I appreciate their kindness when I stayed there saved me having to cross town thank you

Club rooms were not very big but well appointed, including refrigerator and microwave facilities. Our friends in a non-club room found it to be uncomfortably small with access to only 1 side of the bed and cramped access to the bathroom. Well worth the upgrade...

Great location and lovely staff. Decor a bit tired. My room was rather small , not enough room for a chair or to walk around the bed. Area around is nice with good access to the tube network. Probably would look for somewhere else to stay in the future.

I have been at 301 room, there was a big problem with polluted air in the bathroom due to the absence of a siphon in the drainage system of the shower tray, the stench was unbearable. Not so pretty to enjoy stay.

Not the worst hotel I've stayed in, but definitely in the top 3. Being mobility disabled I checked for accessibility and booked a club room for extra space. The only dining room was downstairs, and having just booked breakfast they took payment. I then discovered the location of dining room, so I asked for a refund. I was informed they couldn't because manager was away, but would bring breakfast to my room when I rang reception. Phone didn't work so I went to reception and back to my room. Breakfast was cold and unpalatable, so a waste of money. The roo. Was so small that there was only about 12-15" all around the bed. Difficult to open the wardrobe etc without squeezing past first. The furniture provided evidence of this with all the bangs and scrapes, and the room was fundamentally filthy. See photo behind bedside cabinet. Not to be recommended.

Avoid this place like the plague, it is simply disgusting. Meant to be there for the weekend but left after 1 night. Riddled with damp (simply move the bed and look behind the curtain) and our bathroom stench was vile. Truly one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in.

Very bad experience in here for 2nd time. It’s clean but very rude reception who’s not even helpful at all. We booked with cot bed 2 weeks earlier and today they said the room in full and they don’t have place to fit the cot bed. So there’s not space for us at all.

Good hotel to stay at. The location is excellent. There are 2 tube stations nearby and multiple bus stops as well. Takes 15 to 20 mins to reach any most important locations from here The rooms are small for the price. But the location of the hotel compensates for it Lot of places to eat nearby as well. But most restaurants nearby were always fully booked and needed a reservation

Location is amazing, hotel is just across the road from Bayswater tube station, and is right round the corner from Hyde Park. Upon arrival, staff member at reception wasn't welcoming and had headphones in while talking to me. However the staff member on the way out was polite and friendly. The room itself is small, definitely not deluxe, however we were just staying for one night so was sufficient. The bed is a small double so is not that comfortable for my tall partner. Room is tidy, but there are signs of wear, sink had a slight crack in the bowl and the bed had stains and scruff round it.

Located close to Underground and a commercial area is perfect for a visit to London. Be warned that the rooms are small and ask for a room far from the elevator - which is quite noisy. Cleaning was superficial, but was fine. Would book again, away from the elevator.

Our room was small bit functional. Dated, but clean. So set your expectations accordingly and you won't feel let down. So handy for Hyde Park concerts which was our aim! Very friendly and helpful staff

Great location, VERY SMALL ROOMS!!! Bath doesn’t have a plug so I couldn’t bath my baby. They should state that it’s not a bath that can be used. Staff are nice. Location is great. Very close to everything.

August 4th me and my friend checked into Hyde Park International at roughly 3pm after looking around for a good 10 minutes since the outside has no proper signanage and the name of the hotel is literally faded out and barely shows when you are up close to the door. After check-in we went up to our room and immediately were shocked to see how dirty the room was. There was white crusty stains on the bed runner, the bedsheets had very obvious blood stains, the soap holder in the bathroom was falling out of the wall, the shower area was filthy with grime and mold on both the outside and inside, all the walls in the room were dirty with what looked like spill stains that clearly were never cleaned. We then proceeded to call down to concierge and told the receptionist about how dirty the room was, he came upstairs and we explained everything to him and he just stared at us and said he will see if there anything he could do. He didn't even look at all the dirty things we pointed out and left the room. We waited in the dirty room for 30 minutes or so before we called him again, since he forgot about us, and finally had someone in the cleaning staff show us another room. The second room the cleaning lady showed us was just as dirty as the first one and the same issues, dirty walls, dirty bathroom, and again uncleaned bedsheets with stains on them. We pointed this out to the lady and just like the receptionist, she just stared at us and didn't even look at the dirty things we spotted and rudely said she will let the receptionist know and left us in the room. Again, we waited for 15-20 minutes and got frustrated and brought all of bags down to the hotel lobby and asked the receptionist what was going on. He finally responded saying he was speaking to his manager and then proceeded to show us a third room. When we went to the third room he walked in on another guest sleeping in the room. That guest yelled at him to get out and I was standing outside absolutely horrified that he would take us to a room already occupied by another guest. After a few minutes he showed us a fourth room and left without any word. As soon as he left I immediately spotted all the same issues as rooms 1, 2, and 3, and again blood stains! Absolutely frustrated, angry, and tired (mind you, this was going on for almost 2 hours since we originally checked in) we went down to the receptionist again and he said he had no more rooms to show us and that maybe tomorrow morning he could show us another room but nothing guaranteed and lacked any compassion and very unprofessional as if we were the problem and not the dirty rooms. We were very frustrated because we would not have anywhere to sleep for the night and it was getting late and we were tired after a long day of travelling so we asked for a refund so that we could try to find another hotel so late in the evening and last minute. The receptionist said his manager said the refund was okay but had to go through Expedia since we booked through them. I proceeded to call Expedia and the agent said they would need to speak to the hotel to confirm everything so I handed the phone to the receptionist and he told the agent everything that happened. The agent then needed to speak to the manager to confirm a refund but for some reason, the manager was not responding to the calls. So we had to book another hotel at the last minute for $1,000 more since it was getting late (almost 3 hours dealing with this ordeal) and were told that the manager would get back to us, and Expedia, as soon as possible with our refund. Its been a month now and no response from the hotel whatsoever. I have called multiple times and left emails and keep getting told the manager will contact me and never does. THE WORST, DISGUSTING HOTEL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. And I have stayed at some pretty low budget hotels before and this one was was nasty. I tried leaving this review on Expedia but for some reason it said I was not able to... **the pictures attached from all 4 rooms don't even show the nastiness properly but gives an idea**

The location of the Hotel is perfect. Near to 2 main Underground stations and several restsurants, supermarkets, eletronic stores, things that a tourist would need. BUT... The room a fairly small, mold in the bathroom, some damages around the room. For exemple I hurted myself while seeting in the bed by one piece of the spring of the matress that was bronken. The toillet paper holder, broken. Shower, mold and dirty. And it is a not cheap hotel. Recommend only because of the location.

The rooms were extremely tight and congested. The AC filter was blocked. Some electrical points were damaged. The location is nearby all the necessary shopping.

Not really what I'd call a 4 star hotel, tiny rooms which can get loud at times. It might be typical with most British hotels especially in London but it was also extremely expensive to stay especially for what you get and this should not the standard....It's getting 2 stars simply because of housekeeping which clean your room daily and refill water/tea/coffee (instant).

It's nice enough, staff are friendly. Breakfast is good. Rooms are very small and dated. Shower is amazing, however fittings need cleaning and updating. Not much attention to detail. Rooms are very warm, air conditioning only produces noise. Can't imagine how it would be in the height of summer, there is no cool air. Very noisy between rooms and floors. We could hear other people's conversations. Also, there are lilies everywhere. Even if you're not allergic, which I happen to be, they are overpowering. Location is great and i guess that's what you pay for.

Pros: -Great Price -decent rooms -Great location(near Hyde park and a tube station) -Helpful staff Cons: -door keycard takes several times to unlock the door and sometimes doesnt work at all -rooms are a bit small —almost no noise isolation between rooms In summary: Great bang for your buck, and for the price and location I can ignore the cons.

I had a really enjoyable stay at this hotel. I was over in London for work and I had a wonderful room, in Room 304. The room was really good and the shower was wonderful. I was very relaxed going to work next day. Many thanks to Shirly, Jeana and also Matian who helped sort a safe issue. I will certainly add the Shaftesbury Hyde Park International to my list of great hotels in London.

Very nice place to stay if you do not mind you are not staying in a centre. It is clean hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful. on a arrival you will receive a welcome drink which was actually very nice surprise. It's located near Hyde Park. Easy to go for a walk. Good connection to Circle and Central line.

Great people working at the front desk. The single room is very small but cozy. Clean rooms, and helpful personnel. A nice stay, all in all. In the past year I saw the prices float up and down, and for what I saw, they're sometimes a bit too high, compared to the quality of the hotel. You can always find a good offer comparing sites, though. I must say the position of the hotel is very convenient: 2 tube stations nearby and multiple bus stops. A nice place, not terribly luxurious but well kept, clean and above all, you'll find excellent people assisting you.

We are a group of 3 who stayed for a week at this lovely hotel. The location of the hotel was great, near a tube station with plenty of shops and restaurants for shopping and meals. The hotel itself was under renovation when we checked-in, and came as a surprise because we were not advised when we made the booking. However, despite this, the rooms were very clean and comfortable although a little small. The front reception deserves a Big Thumbs Up, especially Gabriella, Angela & Vincent for their excellent service. Rebecca from the Restaurant is so good at her job that it is a pleasure going for breakfast every morning. Her sunny smile and excellent service also deserves a Big Thumbs Up. These are the staff that makes a Hotel a great place to stay and is indeed a great asset!!!
