Really great place in a perfect location. The staff were really welcoming and helpful, the hostel itself was all around very clean, with many facilities such as a kitchen and a lounge. They offered complementary drinks and pastries, and the room itself, although very small, was clean and the beds were comfortable. Our room also came with a sink, a fan and sufficient storage closets. There were lots of private shower cubicles and toilets, which were never dirty and had great water pressure and temperature. The only issues I had was that the lift was broken so there was quite a few flights of stairs to climb every day. However, they said that this will be fixed soon. Overall though, very good hostel and would be happy to come back again!

The hostel was super cozy and perfect for a night stay! We booked a four bed female room which was super comfortable and clean, like the rest of the hostel. It's in a great location on the third floor of the building (it can get a little noisy at night though). There is luggage storage available (three pounds for a big locker, but you can pay with card at reception if you need -- we were able to fit two big backpacks and extra bags into one big locker)! Would highly recommend this place to anyone!

We found ourselves having to stay over in London unexpectedly. So I looked for YHA accommodation as a reasonably priced solution. Oxford St YHA offered a 2 person room for £45.00 - central London - very good!! We had a great stay - the dining area and kitchen has air con as does the bar / reception area. We spent a couple of hours there before bed enjoying some wine - under £10.00 for a bottle. Our room was comfy and the fan helped keep us reasonably cool. So 5 star success! Breakfast for a fiver will be a pleasant ending to our stay.

Pros: in a good location, rooms and bathrooms are new and nice. Showers are great. Good price. Cons: in summer time it’s ridiculously hot in the room. There was no air flow in the room at all and the wall-mounted fan faced away from the beds. You have to pay £3 for luggage storage which is a bit of a joke

Really enjoyed my time here in an all female room. The rooms were clean, bathrooms were cleaned regularly, and the staff were hopeful. The area is also extremely busy and safe which was ideal as a solo female traveller. My roommates were also very understanding and made minimal noise during the night. The lockers were very safe and large. If you’re looking for a social or party hostel, maybe look elsewhere, however since I dont care about social aspects of a hostel, my stay was perfect.

Best hostel in town. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms and shared amenities. Located in Central London. Comfortable and peaceful night's rest. Be prepared to climb 5 storeys.

My brother and I stayed here last year on a private room, without private toilets, and it was perfect. Comfy, clean, and the staff was super friendly! Plus, the location is great for a newbie in London. (I did a whole research to see where to stay, and I do not regret my choice) Thanks for everything! - Also, they have a room where you can leave your bags if you do not have access to your room yet, which I always find really useful.

Great location with helpful staff and overall good rooms. This wasn't the most social hostel I've stayed at, but my dormmates were pretty friendly. Thankfully, the bathrooms were kept pretty clean. I think the biggest issue is that it seems like their elevator has been out of service for months, which is a big problem for a lot of people. But overall, a small negative out of a big list of positives for this place! The location is definitely amazing.

Perfect size hostel. If you can get the men's room on the first floor at the back right...comes with it's own private bathroom. Worth it for your own bathroom with 3 other people. Cozy vibe and even more central location.

The hostel is in the middle of the Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Circus underground stations and I think it's the best location for London visitors. Hosts were super friendly, especially at check-in and our room was a little "spartan" but clean. I absolutely recommend this hostel if you're visiting London, especially if you're young, the ambience is super friendly (and also LGBTQI+ friendly ;))

Fantastic place. Was worried about staying in a hostel with a family, but it was wonderful. Be warned: There are 53 stairs to reach the reception desk, hallways are tiny, and you might share a bathroom. It's a hostel, not a hotel. Beds are spartan. I brought a camping blow-up sleeping pad and it helped a lot with the bed. It's not luxury. However, if you're looking for a bargain place to stay right in the middle of London, this is it. Near Covent Garden, Leicester Square, tons of restaurants outside the front door. Nice people. And it felt like a safe place to stay with two young teens. Only minor quibble: I'd like a door you can bolt from the inside, to keep anyone from getting a key and getting in. That might be an issue with all hostels, since the rooms are shared. I'd go back again any time except summer, since there's no A/C (they do have a big fan in the room.)

Overall I was happy with my decision to go with YHA Oxford St. Just be alarmed that the elevator (or the lift :D) is out of service and the staircase is very narrow. So be prepared to climb lots of stairs just to get to the reception which is on the 3rd floor. Staff were friendly; they had to move us after the first night because of another group booking which was not fun, but they'd communicated it with us in advance. Rooms and restrooms were very clean, but I found the restrooms very tight as there was no room to move. I would recommend if you want to be close to Oxford and Regent streets which are very live at nights.

Clean rooms. All the staff was crazy helpful and friendly. A great experience that I would highly recommend. 8 minute walk to The Tube. 3 minute walk to pubs, shops, coffee, etc. Hostels kitchen was clean. Stayed for 8 days with my wife and teenage daughter! We got a negative Covid test result right before we flew back to the USA. That tells me that the hostel was cleaned very well. A+

Excellent location in central London. I stayed in a private room with friends. We found it was very clean and the staff were friendly. The bathrooms were cleaned regularly and showers were very good and hot!! We stayed while it was very hot and the fan in the room didn't do anything to help. In future, it would be nice to have a better air conditioning feature. Otherwise, a very lovely stay as always with YHA

Located a stones throw from Oxford Street, a short walk to the tube and also just along from the London Palladium, couldn't get a better location. There are 53 stairs to the reception and we were 2 floors above that and the lift was broken. It really wasn't ideal as my sister has mobility problems but we were warned prior to arriving and the lovely (Aussie/NZ? Sorry couldn't place the accent) lady on reception was super helpful carrying our bags up. The room was absolutely fine. Clean and basic. The window opened but didn't make a difference to the heat and the fan just blew warm air around. Proper air conditioning is required in rooms. There was a continual humming sound from outside (probably air conditioners and vents etc) so we shut the window anyway. The bathrooms and showers were clean and didn't feel like we were sharing them at all. Communal areas were clean and comfy. We even got to watch the tennis in the lounge entirely undisturbed, it was so quiet. Kitchen was small but totally fine. Tea and coffee can be ordered at Reception though £2.10 for a cuppa tea is a bit steep so we bought our own milk and tea bags. I didn't bother bringing any as most hostels (in scotland) I've stayed at have provided teabags for free. We used the lockers in the basement on leaving. Large ones are £3 and small £2 and you need pound coins for them. Also, especially for UK residents who wont necessarily have ID on them, bring photo ID to check in. We had a panic as we couldn't find passports etc before leaving for London. I would stay here again but only if the lift worked. Staff were friendly (except for one very aloof lady on checking out who started serving the next person without telling me I was checked out and free to go) and the location is hard to beat.

Would question their id policy and GDPR Stayed at good quality hotels and they don’t ask for id Also potentially discriminatory Member of staff didn’t know why etc..

Although the hostel was great, be prepared to be woken by bin men emptying the bottle bins at the pub across the street at 3.30am and then woken up by multiple noises before and after. Could do with triple glazing or wear some earmuffs.

This is a super convenient, safe and cheap place to stay 100m from the heart of Oxford Street and just a few minutes walk from Oxford Circus tube station. It has hot showers, a great self catering kitchen, and a large lounge dining space. It also has luggage storage lockers in the basement so you can go shop till you drop with your hands free! Be mindful that you will be sharing a 4 bed dorm room so the quality of your stay is often defined by those you share with! But that's the nature of hosteling, be kind and considerate to those you share with and be easy going. Would I stay again? Yes😁

Don't stay anywhere with this poorly-run crooked 'charity.' You don't have any rights and they take advantage of you. H.I. cancelled my booking, but refused to refund my deposit, claiming it was against their 'new' amended 'policy.' They even suggested that I leave my deposit as a donation to them. As a charity, they're very poorly run. Lots of other honest, ethical and better run hostels in London.

I spent a few nights here in a private room last week. It is a great place to stay- excellent location, friendly staff, comfortable room (and bed) with good facilities. The breakfast available at a small extra cost is excellent. And you don’t need to be youthful to stay there, either.

Loved the location of this place and the staff were super lovely. Stayed in a 4-bed room with my friend and had pretty good space, compared to other hostels. Very secure system too which was important for us young female travelers! Would definitely recommend, particularly for those eager to check out the Soho night scene :)

A good place, though a bit too cramped. The kitchen was perfect: despite so many people using it, it was kept clean all the time. I was not afraid that my food would get contaminated or me - sick. Bathrooms could be improved though - a shelf for cosmetics and other stuff would be good. The room was small, but the bed was very comfortable. Although for single/double rooms please consider installing beds without metal frames overhead (our bed was a bunk bed turned into a 'normal' double). The staff was helpful and always available; we always had our needs addressed. Thanks a lot.

It's a nice and relaxing retreat from the rest of the busy and active area surrounding Oxford Street. The showers and toilets were always clean, which is something I critically check for wherever I stay. The rooms have safe places to lock your things, bring your own lock. The beds arent the most comfortable but they serve their purpose just fine. The staff were always happy to help with any questions or requests and their 24hour service is great. If you happen to be a night owl there will still be someone around to help with anything you might need. The lounge is a very cute social space with comfortable seating. We spent a lot of time there reading books and chatting with strangers. We had a great time at our trip and we're already looking for a suitable time to come back for another trip!

The hostel was overall very professionally run and the location cannot be beat. Great convenience to two tube stations, plenty of bus stops, two+ supermarkets, nightlife, pubs, and restaurants. Amenities are pretty sparse but hey, you should have an idea of what you're getting into at a hostel. Room was comfortable enough to not have any serious problems over 9 days. Road noise and hotel noise were nonexistent - nice thick walls. Bathrooms are well looked after. Reception was super helpful, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Would definitely consider staying at this or another YHA in the future!

The staff are very friendly and helpful. They went over and above during my stay. Rooms are clean and tidy. Bathrooms are quite small but that is to be expected in London. Could use a shelf to put things on rather than just hooks. The mattress I had in the dorm was quite thin so not super comfortable for me. Everything else was fantastic. There is a lift to the third floor where reception is, then it’s stairs only for the top two floors.

Great location, good prices. The room was small but a good size, the beds were a little harder than I'd have liked. Unfortunately our room was beside the shared toilets so the plumbing made noise in our room whenever anyone used the sinks.

It was amazing the food was great, the staff were helpful. Me and my friends had an on-suite, making us feel very special. While it was amazing there was a leak in the upstairs showers but we weren't on that floor. Overall amazing.

I stayed in mid September in a private room for 3 nights with my sister. This is my third time with YHA London, previously in central London and St. Paul branches and had pleasant experience. This time I did not feel comfortable for the following reasons: 1- room was very tight, hardly could put my baggages 2- no Wi-Fi in the room (it did not bother so much as it’s common in all yha hostels) 3- my room was in fifth floor, and lift only takes you to the reception in third floor so I had to carry my luggages 2 floors up, but at time of checkout one of the staff generously helped me with my luggage. 4- I had unpleasant experience with one of the staff.. we were bringing things on our way back including a box of homemade pizza.. he looked to our stuff and said: you will not be able to make this because there is no oven.. I told him that I know and will use the microwave.. then he went to close the entrance to the staff kitchen that contain oven! I was not intending to use the staff kitchen I can read the signs!! but I felt it very rude and he had not any right to check my stuff from the first place. Overall, it was average.. but next time I will book in one of the other branches.

Very reasonable accommodation if you don’t require all the amenities of a hotel although definitely didn’t miss out on any major ammenities, over all good place to rest while exploring London

We booked a 4 people room, but two of us has issue with UK transit visa (the Government was overwhelmed due to high volume of visa processing and cannot send the visa to us before we left for UK). I requested to cancel the room one month before, YHA refused and didn't give any refund back.

Heating diddnt work, fire alarm went of at 3am, 5am for a few nights and sheets weren't clean. Sink also diddnt work. All things considered, it's a London hostel so you get what you pay for. Do have to say a positive is that the rooms seemed quite quiet and you couldn't hear neighbours through walls.

Situated near a metro station, in a quiet area, it's a really cost effective stay option. The girls dorm rooms are neat and the bathrooms are very clean. The have bunk beds, all the guests were very considerate of others, making sure not to disturb anyone. They have a kitchen downstairs where u can heat up food and socialize. I'd recommend opting for their breakfast option as it's really reasonably priced and they have amazing croissants. You can have toast and butter, cereals, fruit etc. Loved it!
