I wait for More than half an hour for warm water until shower but it's still cold. I called the counter number and told them, he told me go to reception!!! I don’t know they are too smart as their name or “helpful” He told me wear clothes and go to reception however!!! my body is wet and dirty and i’m saving money so I won't use laundry. if I do so, I need to wash my clothes tmr. . I having shower with cold water, nice one. Don’t go this hostel if you have other choice. I haven't said their other problem before.

We are here now, in a 6 bedded dormitory which is really small, looks exactly like a train sleeping wagon, 3 bunk beds each side, the ground level one being a mattress directly on the floor!!! The room temperature is FREEZING, the radiator is stone cold all the time. Staff at reception tried to help by adding an electric small one, that worked for an hour than died. There is no maintenance team in the hostel and managers do not care. The location sells anyway so they do not have to show respect for their guests. For your own good, please AVOID this unit!

I would not recommend this hostel… On the first night we saw a mouse in the hang out/kitchen area and beside that the hang out area was limited to a small and old couch so you couldn’t really sit comfortably anywhere. The room was also extremely hot so you couldn’t really spend much time in there unless you were sleeping and even then it was almost unbearable. Also at check-out you had to pay if you wanted to leave a bag there for a few hours, I haven’t experienced that at any other hostel, neither have I experienced that you need to dress and undress your own bed, that is usually included. I will say though that the staff was friendly enough and the location was good!

The location is great 5 min walk to Hyde park or tube station. I stayed in 6-bed female room, they gave me bed sheet and linens which were clean. Overall I can say it was clean. It is good for the value. Of course it can be cleaner..

Fantastic location (5 mins walk from underground, shops, Hyde park) nice and helpful staff, very clean. Nice and quiet at nights. Little noisy early in the mornings. Great breakfast included in the price. Facilities little old but still a comfortable stay. Totally recommended!

Smart Hyde Park is one of the great hotels and I enjoyed my presence here. The staff were really nice, and there is a washing area where you can wash and dry a load of clothes for 5 pounds. I think the only thing I want to report is the guests - one night, there was a very aggressive man and my colleagues and I heard him housing in the halls. I think the administration has handled it well, but just be aware that there are some guests who can act somewhat oddly sometimes. The room was clean and the storage areas were enough and the hall areas were nice.

I stayed here for 4 nights. Pros: Bathrooms are clean, lounge is cool and good to stay (except for rats, see below) Cons: I saw rats in the basement lounge area at night. The rooms are too hot to stay during the day. Also, it can get smelly. Finally, the staff can get quite rude and unfriendly. The receipt they gave me had the wrong checkout date (one day extra), and I made the mistake of not double checking. I had left the room early on the morning of the checkout date, and when I came back, they had cleared the bed and misplaced some items I had on the bed. Then the receptionist gave absolutely no help in looking for the missing items, and said it doesn't matter if the checkout date on the receipt was wrong, the customer should check the right date. I mean fine I made a mistake, but what kind of customer treatment is this? At least try to look for my missing items? I wouldn't recommend this place, it would ruin your holiday plans

Stayed at this hostel for half a week, they checked in at 2pm and checked out at 10 am. If you decide to arrive early to check in you can keep the luggage for free and freshen up but if you decide to check out and want to keep the luggage they charge a fee of 3 pounds. They have around 6 beds in mixed gender dorms, and toilets are maintained clean. They give duvets and bedsheets. They have a kitchen where you can cook your own food or can buy breakfast for 6.5 pounds. The location is at a prime location and the Paddington station is at a 10 minute walk.

I was expecting a friendlier staff. They sent me 11 emails only for asking me to check in online and to leave a review. So annoying. Room in the dorms are super small and didn’t look so clean. The fire alarm activated at 12 in the night just because it was not working properly. Kitchen clean and furnished.

Avoid if disabled!!! This hostel does not let you stay with government issued ID and the staff are rude and hostile then when you try to communicate they constantly talk over you and call you rude when you try to explain but they don’t want to listen. The hostel manager believes unless you sleep on their premises you can’t complain and the reception staff won’t deal with problems because they are just receptionists. This hostel also ignores all paperwork presented so avoid staying here Further to hostels response have tried to communicate with them again to be hung up on again if disabled please avoid!!!

The price rooms are upstairs and very quiet. There’s Netflix in the rooms. The room is serviced every day. The breakfast is adequate. The wall outlets also have USB plugs so I didn’t even need an adapter. The elevator was working. The staff is helpful with storing your luggage and everything.

I don't know what more someone could want. I booked a double and the check-in was easy, the people on the desk were friendly, the room was a good size, the bed was comfortable, the shower had good pressure . . . It was the perfect place to lay my head after Bruce Springsteen. And it's just a 15 minute walk through the park to the north entrance for BST Summertime. I know where I am staying next time!

In general, I am satisfied. The price for London is favorable, it is convenient to get to the city center. Service is good, room is clean and quiet. Breakfast saves time and is quite good. Small space, more suitable for short people🤣. Good budget hostel.

It's not the best option. The location is good, but it is still a little far away from many points of interest. The staff was super friendly! I stayed in a room just for girls. It was small and felt dirty, the beds were of three levels :( they gave me the one in the top, I'm a short girl, so that was very unfortunate.

I came to the hostel at 9am. My check in was from 2pm. I arrived earlier for my stay than expected due to the strikes had to travel earlier. I was more than happy to wait in bar area. Did not expect to be checked in that early Tiffany (staff member) quite arrogant. Mo was great. I asked if I could wait aorund in bar area until it was time to check in… Tiffany said hmmm so I asked should i be standing until 2pm then ? That’s when she allowed me to sit down. Paid for breakfast at 0930. Breakfast area was cramped with everyone. Long queues. Cutlery fell onto the fall and I saw the domestic staff giving it quick wash only. The same staff that were cleaning the water spillage in bar / reception area were the ones serving breakfast. There was no hot water on arrival due to the big splash that came from the ceiling. Check in for 2pm… room still not ready. I was checked in and then went to room and housekeepers had only just started to clean it Manager at this place has no people skills. Not once did she apologise for any inconveniences causes

Overall, okay experience. They accommodated my group in one room. Room was small but clean. The kitchen is quite small and there’s not napkins and things to clean. You have to make your bed yourself and bring the covers back to reception when you check out!! That’s a first! There is a socket in every bed and a usb port. Storage available in the room, under the beds. Very good location, but you can hear everything from outside. Check in is at 10am, not enough time in the morning. I don’t know much of the rest if the facilities since the room had a private bathroom. I wouldn’t book again, if I’m traveling by myself.

Best experience for short stays pocket friendly...good rooms for 6 bed dorms was clean and tidy. Staff is very friendly and helpful...super easy check in and check out. Location is also great close by bus stop to central London. Overall review...👌

The private rooms are great and offer everything you need at a great location. They were also able to accommodate us for two more nights (our flights got cancelled). The staff is friendly enough and the area is quiet and seems safe. The breakfast is meh so we usually grabbed a coffee at Costa and went into the park to watch dogs.

Stayed 4 nights in a 9 beds shared room. En-suite toilet and shower was a nice surprise. Hostel is similar to Hyde Park Inn. Clean and functional facilities, warm enough to sleep with the window open. There are also shared bathrooms at basement level.

I had a good stay, this hostel is great for two days. The team is nice and the common room is super large. The kitchen is quite small and not very easy to manage when several people are cooking. The room is okay, clean and fresh sheets are given when you check in but you have to make your bed yourself (not easy when you arrive at 11 PM, when you have the highest bed and when everybody in the room is already sleeping). There is a socket in every bed, very convenient. Storage available in the room and there are hooks for towels / coats. Very good location, close to Hyde Park and to the subway. Things to be aware of: The glass of the window is very thin, you can hear everything that is going on in the street. Earplugs are available in the lobby if needed. Mattress is quite thin but still okay. You have to pay extra if you want a towel. Check-out is at 10 (it is a bit too early, 11 would be perfect).

for a hostel isnt bad but u have to pay extra for a lock, otherwise the locker is useless? and at the end of ur stay u have to take the bedding to reception, when there are maids and room service available..? Plus in this hostel there is a basement, I feel it would be fair for people to know if they are booking a room in the basement or not. At the end of the day is a cheap hostel at a good location, but I would not come again.

I stayed in a private twin room for one night on a business trip. I've stayed in lots of hostels and when I was backpacking it probably would have been luxury. The room was fine, though little things like there being a TV remote and no TV, the toilet roll dispenser was right where your head would go if sitting down because the loo was so close to the wall, the paint job in the bathroom had left drips down the walls. Nothing drastically wrong, just showed a bit of lack of care. The staff looked and acted thoroughly bored when I arrived, half asleep lounging across the front desk on their phones. I was woken up by a noisy car outside the window at 4am. But for a night it was fine, the bed was comfy, it was clean, the location was great. I'm not desperate to go back but I wouldn't mind if I had to.

Overpriced for what it is. Wouldn't recommend. The staff are varied about their customer service and quite a few are simply rude. My bed was cleared during my stay and I couldn't find some important stuff like my phone charger. I'm lucky enough that i could leave a day early and not have to travel too far because that did make me uncomfortable. The bedroom bathroom smelt like urine and was quite old (always wear flip-flops). The beds aren't clearly numbered. The plug sockets in each bed look like a fire hazard and the lift moves like a death trap. The bed was practically kissing the floor they tried to cram so much in a room. This isn't a normal hostel. I've stayed in many across the world but I wouldn't touch here again.

I enjoyed my stay here. The clerks were really nice, and there is a laundry area where you can wash and dry a load of clothes for like £5. I think the only thing I would flag up is the guests- one night, there was a man that got extremely belligerent who my roommates and I heard in the halls. I think the management handled it well, but just be aware that there are some guests that can act a bit odd at times. The room was clean, the storage areas are sufficient and the lounge areas were nice.

Overall, had a great stay at this hostel. Pros: Location (near hyde park, groceries, restaurants, paddington train station, tube, quiet, safe area, far from the crowds of the tourist attractions) Friendly staff and bar Good kitchen and space to eat downstairs Good wifi Picnic tables in front are nice to have a drink, some food, or a morning coffee or tea and appreciate a genuine London street. Cons: The lockers below the beds are loud, and annoying to access especially when people are sleeping, rooms are small for the amount of beds, but nice to have a private bathroom per room. My main complaint is the fact that we are not technically allowed to access the kitchen during breakfast hours (which you can add as option). Personally, I bought my own food for breakfast and grabbed it during those hours in the common fridges (not normally permitted during 7am and 11am I believe). I tried to make myself scarce but the lady running the breakfast was very annoyed with me and made it clear. The breakfast room was very busy and she rudely had me move across a table to have other people eat. This is understandable given the people present but asking the guest to move to the corner of the table more politely would have been appreciated.

It is a nice hostel. Plenty of rooms. With lift. Dorms with shower ensuit. They also has double room for two. The price is good for a tourist nights. They have a small area like pub.

I've been staying in 3 out of your branches so far (also Hyde Park Inn and Russell Square) and this one is most certainly the best of them and my first choice if I'm looking for short budget accommodation in London. Not only the rooms and cleanliness but also the staff are on much higher level here. What a difference from Hyde Park Inn, which is literally few minutes walk away ;p This is a hostel in the end so obviously guests can't really expect luxury but for London standards I really can't complain about this place. Especially people in the reception are very nice and professional. The ONLY issue I had during my stay was the bunch of guys at the convenience store opposite... Every night they sit at the entrance of the store, laughing and shouting until 1-2 in the morning... with the window open (it's too warm if it's closed) it makes it almost impossible to sleep until they're gone... I'm still giving HPV the highest score since the issue is not something depending on the property or staff but someone really should do something about it...

Decent price for the average cost in London and good location BUT the rooms are dirty, at least the one that I was in. It seems some of the people in the rooms lived there and they had stuff everywhere, the bathroom was a mess, the room was a mess. Broken locker in the room and poor maintenance of the curtains and beds. Also, 3 level bunkbeds so bottom one is at floor level

Location is within walking distance to the underground and a bus stop. Staff is nice and welcoming, room is cozy and clean, the only thing with the hostel is that the elevator is extremely slow and can only take max 4-5 people.

Stayed for a week in London in a private room with private bath. Very nice time, clean, great staff, no headaches. Would stay again. Tip - The rooms don’t have USB chargers on the wall so use the back of the tv :)

Stayed in one of the private ensuite rooms for four nights. Location was great, very close to paddington station, and the central line, as well as hyde park. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I didn't know they would come in to make the bed and change the towels everyday which was great! They even. put the roses I received in a vase for us! Breakfast was included with the room, even if it wasn't it was only about £1 a day extra. I have nothing bad to say, one recommendation would be to fix the window in the room as i noticed it didn't lock, but it wasn't a major concern. Would definitely stay here again and I 100% recommend this to all!

DO NOT BOOK. TO AVOID. We stayed for 2 nights and we did not have hot water on the top floor. Let me rephrase: we did not even have water, as the pressure was so low that we could not even flush the toilet or brush our teeth. The receptionist told us that this happens when the students on the second floor use all the water. We tried also during the night, we had to let the water run for 30 minutes to have lukewarm water, so basically we did not shower. On the second day in the morning, we did not have water at all. In the night, we had hot water but while showering, it was being cut off and when it came back it became boiling, with no possibility to moderate it towards colder. The staff of the morning shift was rude and unpleasant. The girl on the afternoon shift was helpful and we thank her for her help, however, her male colleague was scrolling on his phone and completely ignored us. The funny thing is that in the reviews on Google, the property replies in the same way to all comments, which are basically a) rude staff and b) no water. One could assume that they would have fixed these two but they do not seem to care. Positive: The beds were comfortable, the location was safe and well-connected, and the room was quiet (top floor). We also had a kettle.
