At this price, you could settle for a 2 star hotel or even a 3 star. At this hostel, you get no tissue, no hairdryer, a choked sink with shared toilet. I can look past that for a night, but they were extremely dishonest to state "luggage storage" when they actually did not allow me to store, claiming that "students were checking in today". Well then do not claim you offer luggage storage! To make it worst, the reception lady was unhelpful and condescending, which is an appalling attitude to have, facing tourist or students. Save yourself the trouble, stay elsewhere and do not let this unethical and dishonest accomodation spoil your holiday.

We stayed in a small but nice room. Very good student dormitories with shared bathroom and toilets, had a little walk to get to them. There was a kitchen right outside our room and a very good buffet breakfast. Good security cards to open the doors and laundry room with card or app payment. Excellent location, walking distance to Oxford Street and train station. Staff were helpful and reception friendly. We had a short but pleasant stay.

Only upside is the location and that it has good connections to bus and tube. My room (and from what I’ve heard, all other rooms) was badly isolated and you wake up from loud vehicles driving at night, also with the window closed. Cleaning staff threw away stuff that was not in the bin, like my face soap which I still had been using. Electricity was gone once for half an hour and one evening there was no warm water, all without any warning or reassurance. Reception people during the day are friendly, in the evening they tend to have superiority complexes. Breakfast is disgusting with mushrooms that taste like water. Sorry, but never again, for sure.

This is the famous university (London Economics School) student accommodation. The location is great and in walking distance to city center (20 minutes walk). Breakfast is great. The price is very reasonable. Just a few downsides: the room is not big and no table; shared bathroom and toilet are not convincing; the kitchen is not big and not well equipped. But overall it is worthy the money.

This is a nice little spot in London. They have an amazing breakfast and nice staff. They only thing I didn’t like is the fact that guys and girls share the toilets and showers. The website says shared facilities but they fail to mention it is with both sexes. This can bother some women and I feel like it should be posted. Women with a traumatizing past or Muslim women, this can be a huge problem. I am not either of these and I had a problem with it. I feel it is highly inappropriate to not mention this at all on any site. Other than that it was a very nice stay.

Spartan but clean rooms. Toilets and showers down the hall. Great cooked breakfast on the 6th floor but ridiculous 20 minute queue for a coffee or tea from one machine making one cup at a time.

Classic student accommodation, you can't expect much, but it meets several important criteria - late check-in, luggage storage, excellent location.

We'd considered our stay in LSE Carr-Saunders as overall pleasant if you disregard the unbearable heat in the room due to scorching temperatures in London at the time and the inability to open the window wide. But then something unthinkable happened that made us feel disgruntled and altogether disappointed with the place. The place has communal bathrooms, which would be fine if not for the fact that my friend got FILMED IN THE SHOWER on our last evening there. No CCTV in the corridors meant it was extremely hard to find the sleazy piece of garbage who'd been in the bathroom at the time and done it, but we feel the reaction of the manager was still far from adequate. First, she addressed us in an incredibly unpleasant way, making us feel like we where actually accused of making the whole incident up (for nothing like that had ever happened there before!) Then, when she finally saw how shaken my friend was and called the police, during the interrogation she made it abundantly clear she had no intention of informing the guests of Carr-Saunders that there was a creep among them and women ought to beware when they go in the shower (how considerate - she didn't want to worry them!). The whole thing ended the morning after with me recognising the guy, having no proof and no-one to report to (the manager was not there)... by the time she showed up and I informed her who the guy was, he had checked out. Much to the lady's badly concealed relief and our dismay. They will, of course, say they did all that was possible to help solve the predicament, but they didn't. We are grateful to the genuinely sympathetic Mr receptionist, but... Do I recommend the place? Not in a million years! I would not return even if they paid me.

Really enjoyed my experience staying here, its comfortable and is in a very convenient area for getting around. It was really nice having a kitchen with a fridge so I could save a little money by cooking and storing my own food. The breakfast is great, they actually have a nice selection of options especially compared to other places I've stayed at. I also enjoyed talking with the other guests. Very relaxed vibe here. Amazing value all around, this will be my spot to stay at from now on whenever I'm in London

Best things: perfect location and having the possibility to use a kitchen. Worst: the Mattress! If I knew I had to sleep in that bed for the rest of my days, I would jump out the window. Thanks LSE for making me appreciate my own bed! The rest is ok, keeping in mind that you'll share showers & toilets. It is a good low-cost choice but don’t expect lots of comfort.

The room was alright. However the washroom was on a sharing basis (both genders) and some of the lodgers were definitely with poor hygiene, whenever they use the loo it is always not flushed down properly. Other than that it was okay. Would not recommend to couples.

I stayed there in September, 2019. The room was what we expected (great!), the shared bathroom was clean and the breakfast was delicious! But the best of the place was the staff. I can't remember his name but the man who worked at the reception during night shift was the nicest person I have met in London. Also the location is great and there are several Santander cycles stations near.

Very good place cost its money. Some moment good to know before you go there. showers and toilets - common space 1. Hooks in shower rooms are bad, everything falls off them 2. There is a wardrobe in the room, but there are no hangers in it 3. Electrical sockets are UK type, take adaptor with you. 4. Brecfast offered is good, has a lot of vegan options, but not healthy - no fresh vegetables or satals. 5. There is s kitchen you can use if you would like to cook something.

We absolutely loved our stay here! Location was perfect. It's very close to the tourist locations in London and there are restaurants, supermarkets, and cafes nearby. We booked a private room for 2, and it was very clean, spacious and smelled good. We stayed in another hostel the day before and LSE was waaaaayyy better! There were also a variety of food options to choose from for breakfast. Laundry machines are available, but a little troublesome to use if you're using international credit cards. Highly recommended and will definitely stay here again in the future! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My bedroom was nice and clean as well for commune bathroom. Staffs are helpful. I would have avoid breakfast because of long queue and guests can be very greedy filling up their tray not just plate but tray. One staff serving hot breakfast making it waiting longer. Don't both go to coffee machine take a minute to make coffee and there are more than 50 guests waiting for it. Need to restructure the breakfast layout, separating hot and cold meal and get rid of coffee machine.

Great place for short stay. You have to share bathroom it says but actually there are showers and toilets so better than 'a bathroom". Very well situated, supermarkets, restaurants all around walking distance to any places or lots of buses, underground stations around. Breakfast included is good and there are kitchens you can use. Rooms and beds small , no tv, but internet connection .Only thing I didn't appreciate was dirty bins in the toilets.

Breakfast was FANTASTIC. lots of options to choose from, and great quantity too. The place was clean despite of having to share toilets and bathrooms, but a nice place for low cost travel. Bedroim was cleaned every two days, fresh towels provided. You can't fully open the wimdows, I guess for safety reasosns. The location is simply awesome for a touristy visit to London

A god location city centre for a reasonable price, an ingenious use of spare room from the uni when the students are away. Communal breakfast on the top floor close to Warren and great portland tube stations, bed was comfortable, just a shame it wasn't en suite but for the price paid some establishments expect you to stay in a dormantry so for privacy I suppose it's a winner.

Great location and breakfast, overall a great deal for what we were looking for, would definitely stay again, maybe this time with a private bathroom in our room.

My stay in the student accommodation was comfortable and the communal areas were clean and maintained regularly by staff. Breakfast was provided with many options including vegetarian and the reception staff were continually available for queries.

Lived there for 2 years as a student, it's a very good price for the quality given. Internet is good, food is fine, and the rooms are very modern ! I felt at home. Of course sharing kitchen, showers and toilets can lead to a few surprises, but I would still recommend ! Also, the social life at Carr Saunders is one of the best in LSE Halls, if not the number one...

Location was great. Rooms alright. However we booked this place mainly because of the free breakfast. First day there we had to wait for over half an hour to eventually find out that they ran out of food. There were only some beans left… Second day the line was even more massive. We waited for 20 minutes and we were not even close to the buffet. Also no one was very helpfull, no excuse at all or anything. It was a nice, affordable place to stay but they should’nt offer free breakfast if they can’t handle the amount of people.
