Pretty dire. We weren't expecting a lot for the price in London, just a place to crash after a night out visiting friends. The room was fine but the shared toilets and shower were beyond gross. We've stayed in hostels before but this was by far the worst condition. Reception felt clinical. Having breakfast included was great, but the staff member dishing it up looked horrified when I asked if I can do an extra egg instead of bacon - certainly no favours done/personal touch there. All in all, felt like a conveyor belt trying to push one lot of people out the door to get the next lot in.

This is a really clean and recently renovated place, it doesn't feel like a hostel but rather a home. I stayed in a single room and it was cleaned everyday. The community is very welcoming and you don't feel left out. The manager Ibrahim was great and took care of anything that was needed right away by going out of his away. This place is highly recommended and I'll come back again to stay there, if I have an opportunity.

It is a great place to live. It is nice and clean and probably the most affordable place in central London. Location is amazing, right in front of Hyde Park and next to major markets. Amenities are great too. Facilities are clean. It is catered and food tastes good. But most of all, it boasts of a very welcoming community. People are super nice and accomodating, cheerful and with warm smiles. :) I spent 8 months here and I couldn't have picked a better place.

I lived at New Mansion house for 2 years back in the early 2000s and I still miss it. One of the best experiences of my life. Great people, great service, amazing location, and all around a formative experience that will stay with me forever.

Arief stood out during my stay. He had the perfect balance of friendliness and professionalism. There were several staff/volunteers that cleaned my room. However, I knew that when Arief cleaned the room, it would be done to the highest standard. Additionally, I would like to commend the reception staff. They are always happy to help.

The location, the building and above all the attention of the staff has been a very pleasant experience. Then add to that the three meals a day and the price per stay, it is very competitive. I recommend everyone to spend some time in this magnificent place.

I have been living in New mansion for almost a year. Fairly priced i first stayed in 4 bed dormitory £135 weekly later moved for a twin room £169 weekly, is really clean. Excellent location, five minutes walking distance to shops, Hyde park and underground. Volunteers and the management team are very hospitable and nice. Thank you Ibrahim for helping me move to the spacious twin room that I am really happy about it, thank you all for everything. I recommend this place not only for students , young people but also for professionals. Thanks

I have stayed at New Mansion House for over one year, while studying at Imperial College London. The location is absolutely excellent, the staff is very friendly (special mention to Ibrahim) and it does feel like home away from home. Considering its location, it really offers a great value for your money, and the two meals served each day really make a difference when you are busy and don't have time to cook for yourself. I would definitely recommend staying at New Mansion House if you want to save some money, make new friends and/or be within walking distance of many attractions.

I spent really nice days in New Mansion. I was here to study so the thing that the hostel have the dinner was really useful for me. It is situated in a really good place, safe and near the main attractions. The manager was really kind to answer all my doubts. I’ll recommend New Mansion.

The place is great, perfect location. You feel at home, even with the stairs, it was not a problem for me. The only problem was sharing a room with volunteers, unfortunately it was a problem that I didn't want to take to the reception for fear of creating a bigger problem inside the room. The volunteer had zero sense of collectivity, very cheeky, when I found out that she was a volunteer, I was more indignant, she should be the most respectful person with paying guests. she make a lot of noise at night, even after 10pm. It was 1am on the first night and she was making her bed which was completely messed up with several things on top, light on, she didn't even have the care to be delicate with the noise of the bags. The room had a bathroom, and it seemed that she thought she had priority to use, I went in with my things for a shower and she knocked on the door asking if I was going to be long, since outside there are several bathrooms with showers to use. I took a quick shower to make the bathroom available for her. After that I only showered outside the room to avoid stress. One day she entered the room and saw a hair straightener inside my closet and asked to borrow it, I lent it with a good heart but the next day I saw her using her own hair straightener and I wondered why she asked to borrow it if she had hers. Last night it was midnight and the light was on, there was another girl sleeping in the room and I got up to turn off the light out of respect for her, I was also almost asleep already. The volunteer entered the room, turned on the light, made noise, slammed the door and left the light on, I thought she would come back but she didn't. Very cheeky and problematic. Even she always slammed the doors hard. So I recommend that you don't mix paying guests with volunteers or that the volunteers strictly follow the rules of coexistence, it was the only thing that got in the way of my stay. I've stayed in several hostels and I've never seen anyone so problematic, I tried to be very nice to her, she seemed nice too, but she has this territorial behavior. Thanks for the meals too. I loved the place as a whole.

I have been volunteer in New Mansion house and has been the worst ever, the costumer were happy with me and me available to do my duties. The management is the worst, who was working and who was sitting on the table, carry cans full of oil and have pain in the back for months, not possible any kind of conversation bacause the manager was overlapping the discussion and the assistant manager was to busy to choose the leggings of the same color of my wardrobe.. mediocracy is a luxury for this place

Avoid this hostel! Very small rooms, twins are roughly 10 metres square, there is not enough space for your clothes or your stuff. No desk or chair. If you share a room, keep in mind that there is only one communal area that closes at 8.30pm-9.30pm for cleanings and from 11pm to 7am; the study room is tiny with 3 chairs without a window, laundry is super expensive on top of your rent. Very poor food quality, repetitive menu. Customer service and strategies on how to handle conflicts are non-existent. Unacceptable and not worth it!

My experience as a volunteer in this hostel was incredible thanks to the team of volunteers and especially the management of Lenny, the head manager. I would return a thousand times

New Mention House is a cosy accommodation, and you will find friendly staff. They clean your rooms daily and provide bedding every two weeks. Catering is available but not that tasty food. Breakfast is okayish - you'll get the same breakfast all week. Catering staff sometimes doesn't know what they're serving, so I can't eat without knowing what it is for me. Bathrooms are shared and are maintained very well. One can use any bathroom in the building, so no need of waiting. The rooms are good but not worth the money if we have to share with someone. The accommodation is in a good location. Almost all the shops are available within a 10-minute walk.

Stayed here for a month while I complete my dissertation. Location is excellent, staff and volunteers are responsive and the food included was great. Arief does an excellent job cleaning the rooms every single day without fail, he's also very friendly and diligent in his work. Meticulous and efficient as well. I would say the rooms are very clean but showers are a little dirty after other guests using them.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my stay, always ready to assist with any queries or requests. Their warm hospitality made me feel right at home. I highly recommend New Mansion House for anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in the heart of London.
