I'll start with the pros: the location is good, as it is only a 5-minute walk to the nearest tube and grocery store. The flats are spacious and modern, and amenities are included. The view from the sixth-floor balcony is stunning. Some staff, particularly the security staff that are available after management leaves for the day, are helpful and kind. Cons: the exorbitant cost of rent is ridiculous and definitely not worth it. I've seen more spacious flats in London in better locations that are a fraction of what you will pay here. Additionally, the cost of doing laundry is very expensive; you'll easily spend 7-8 quid each time you do a single load of laundry, especially since the dryers don't work well at all, and you'll have to do at least 2 rounds for your clothes to dry. My main concern is the noise levels in the area and inside the building. Nowhere on the website does it mention that there is an overground train literally right outside your window, so when I arrived to the flat and was shown to my room the first day, I was very surprised that there was a train outside that is frequent and loud. The other thing about living here is that the walls are quite thin, and you can hear the music from your neighbours and the footsteps from people above you if you're not living on the top (fifth) floor. I wish someone had warned me about this beforehand, because when I kindly asked staff to switch rooms several times (literally since the day I moved in), I was met with apathetic, passive responses that proved that they didn't really care or were too lazy to do anything about it. You probably won't get a good night's sleep here, and for the cost of rent, it's better to look elsewhere. I didn't want to leave a negative review but for incoming students, it's only fair and better to understand the full picture of what you're signing up for before you actually arrive here so you're not in for a shock like I was.

Nice building and nice room too though it is not big enough. Neat and clean corridor and reception. Receptionist’s service can be improve and satisfy the customers/visitors. Great location. Just couple of minutes walking distance from Bethnal Green Underground Station and Bethnal Green Overground Station. 24 hours bus service available as well.

Pros: Close access to the tube (only 1 stop from QMUL) and very close to Sainsburys main store as well as an express version of the grocery store. The furnishing is very modern and sleek. Great storage! Only wish there were some drawers. Really meets all of your basic needs while still feeling clean, fresh and new. The rooftop terrace is beautiful and the common room is great. The laundry room works well, if you have too large a load you may have to turn the dryer on twice (just fyi). Lighting in the room is great, no need to buy a lamp at all! And they have a vacuum you can borrow anytime to clean your room (so no need to purchase that either). Cons: No air flow! Floors were either locked on heating up the room too much or locked off causing you to be really cold. Fire alarm EVERY Wednesday. Staff intrusions into room almost on a weekly basis. Additionally I felt like they were trying to steal as sometimes they appeared shocked that I was in my room, entered without knocking and once even entered while I was showering, thank goodness my bathroom door was locked. The bathroom constantly stinks. I've tried pouring a drain cleaner down the drains, air spray etc and nothing works. My friend has the same issue in her room too. There is a train that regularly comes by, people getting in fights and yelling or drunkenly singing in the middle of the night which can be annoying. I find the auto shop around the corner is more noisy, particularly in the morning. After traveling around, I feel there are nicer areas to live. Bethnel Green/ White Chapel are dirty and as a female I didn't feel safe in this area. I have been harassed by the men in the area and assaulted on the Bethnal tube station. There are constant homeless people around and drugs discarded on the ground. Aside from these issues, my major issue of complaint was upon moving in. There was a major crack on the kitchen counter and the sink was leaking. Luckily maitenance fixed the leak within a few days but seemed to have prior knowledge of the issue. In addition to this, black mold was underneath the sink. When I spoke to the maitenance man that day he stated someone else would come by to fix the counter. After a few days, didn't hear anything so I submitted a maintenance request and after numerous emails and no responses from staff (aside from counter will take some time to replace but it has been ordered) i had to tell them they either had to move me to a new room immediately or I was moving out. By the end of the year, counters were just beginning to get checked on. After paying so much money to live here, I will say that experience was extremely disappointing and I did not feel I had privacy in my room all.

Studentenwohnheim mit Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten für Touristen. Man hat alles was man braucht. Küche ist im Zimmer vorhanden. Bett für zwei ein wenig klein und die Matratze war schon gut durchgelegen. Zum günstigen übernachten ohne viel Luxus.

I went for a viewing and the entire building was being renovated. It was pretty much just a work site on every level so I can't comment on what it looks like but what I will say is that the lady that gave us the tour(Tara) was an absolute diamond. SO friendly and SO welcoming. Regardless of how the interior turns out, it'd be worth staying there just for her. 10/10 for customer service.

(Translated by Google) «Great stay for students, between areas 1 and 2 of London» Positive aspects: Good location, a stone's throw from the metro station. Nearby there are several pubs and restaurants and supermarkets are open 24 hours and 7 days out of 7. In the rooms is the kitchen but there's nothing to use it (pots etc.). The rooms on the opposite side of the railway are silent. Comfortable bed, excellent bathroom and shower. There are also two chairs and two tables / desks. Overall a great property to keep in mind when staying near central London. Cons: Not including towels (as shown), in the kitchen there are no pots plates etc (so useless if you need it); only a roll of toilet paper is given. At first it was given a room with a view of the railway (double) where there is a train every five minutes even at night and the window was broken. Room however promptly changed after 10 minutes. Keep in mind that if you happen room with railway view, that you are the first or sixth floor could be a problem.

I have lived in the hive for the past two years and I must say it has been such a wonderful experience. The hive is basically a home away from home. They are all very nice..from the team to the residents. They are also very welcoming and attend to your needs. Its like a big family over here. I love this place so much and I will be returning next year and I will probably be here till I'm done with University. It is such an awesome experience.

At first it was good but when you need help there are not here! Because of covid I went back in my country from November to the end! My studio is empty ready for someone else and they don't want me to stop paying. I just ask for not to pay from April to June, I pay 5months without being and using my studio! Rude people and don't even want to talk to you.

I've lived in The Hive for 4 months and it was just amazing! A rooftop with an amazing view, some cucumber water at the reception, some candies sometimes! The studio are also really great with all the fitting out that you need.. The personal is really helpful and nice also, if you have any problems they are here to help you!! It's also a good place to met people if you want to, The Hive organise some party with all the student of the accommodation.. The Hive is really the best student accommodation that I know, I advise it to every student who want to study in London!

I stayed there for two years, the building and rooms are really well thought and great designed for students. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The studio extra deluxe room is absolutely amazing for the asking price. However, the area being Bethnal Green was slight shady at late hours. Regardless, my experience with the hive has been an absolute pleasure! Definitely recommend this place

I currently live in The Hive and it's a wonderful accommodation, you can live in a private room which look like a small apartment, it's very cosy and modern I totally love it. The areas proposed by this residence are very cool, you can receive visits and enjoy moments at the 6th floor with an amazing view on the London City. You can find somebody 24/7, it's very calm and safe, I recommend !

I've been a resident at The Hive for three years, and the fact that I am rebooking for a fourth year is a testament to the great experience I have had. The Hive is superbly located, in a trendy area of London and on the doorstep of Shoreditch, Hackney and Dalston. On top of this, it has great transport links; it's just a stone's throw from Bethnal Green and Whitechapel stations, so you can be in central London in no time. The rooms themselves are of a really high standard. Beds are spacious and comfortable, each room comes equipped with a kitchen and dining area, and the en suites are a very high spec. Facilities are great – laundry is on the top floor, as well as a newly refurbished common room, and the rooftop garden provides breathtaking panoramic views of the city of London. Lastly, living at the Hive takes some of the anxiety out of living in a big city. The building is highly secure – the reception area is manned by security at night, and utility bills are all included in the rent, so you don't have to worry about dealing with them separately. All in all, living at the Hive is both fun and highly convenient. I couldn't recommend it more!

I have been staying in The Hive for about a year and my experience has been nothing less than exceptional! I attend a business school in the Moorgate/Old Street area. Over the past year, I have visited a few other student accommodations within a 5-mile radius from The Hive and I would say that The Hive gives the most bang for the buck! The Hive is well-connected by means of the Underground (Central Line, Hammersmith & City Line and District Line), the Overground, Santander Bicycle and bus links. Therefore getting around London will never be an issue. If you are planning to commute by bicycle, the London East-West Cycle Superhighway is right along Whitechapel Road (5mins away from The Hive)! In essence, you get to stay in an area that is free from congestion and well-connected to most parts of London. You will also live near many of London's attractions - Shoreditch, Spitalfields, Columbia Flower Market, Brick Lane, Olympic Park, etc. Staying within walking distances from all these places is definitely a big plus. For grocery shopping, you have Sainsbury's (5-min walk) and Tesco (8-min walk). Or if you fancy taking a stroll down Whitechapel towards St. Katharine Dock there is a Waitrose (20-min walk). For non-local products, there is a huge oriental supermarket in Stratford (two Underground stops away). You can also get Indian/Middle-eastern produce in Whitechapel area. In terms of safety and security, The Hive has a 24/7 concierge that is manned by the Management and student wardens. Besides, the building can only be accessed by an issued security pass, which gives you a peace of mind whenever you leave your apartment. It is a close-knit community in The Hive where everyone recognises one another. This makes living in The Hive feel like a 'home away from home'. The rooms are well-furnished. It has a dual-purpose microwave/oven, two induction hobs, a dishwasher, a compact fridge with freezer and a storable bed. There is a laundry room located on the top floor that has many washing machines and tumble dryers. The quantity of machines has served the student community well. One will almost always get to use the machines without having to wait in line. You can also borrow the vacuum cleaner (hoover) from the concierge whenever you need it. Last, I would like to commend the Management for its attention to details in ensuring that everyone who lives here is well taken care of. They organise regular hall gatherings, arrange surprise treats when you return back to the hall, etc. They are always thinking of new ways to raise the standard of living. Kudos to them! I would definitely recommend living here!

From the time we phoned Faysal and he agreed to do a same day showing we knew we were off to a great start. The Hive staff and facilities are top notch. Their location in Bethnal Green is awesome as it is 5 mins walk from the tube close to many other amenities. Not to mention Shoreditch where there's a lot for students to do. Imagine having a dishwasher in your room! The Hive was by far the best we saw. Shout out to Amarez who holds down the front desk and is always willing to help.

The Hive allowed me to really enjoy my university experience, having been provided with excellent living facilities, and top-notch service from the friendly staff who are always willing to help. Whether you want to study or play a game of football on the games console, there are lots of areas. It is a friendly environment and the building is always cleaned and maintained. The Hive is not far from the city centre and the tube station is just seconds away! I would definitely recommend it to anyone studying in London.

(Translated by Google) It was quite a disaster. First of all, this is not a hotel or an apartment block. It is a student residence, and that is noticeable and reflected in the environment. They treated us quite badly. First, when we arrived before check-in time (which is at 3:00 p.m.), we asked if they could store our suitcases, since we arrived at 9 in the morning and we had to run several errands. They told us NO, and we had to go from top to bottom with suitcases and backpacks. The best thing is that we saw that other customers did store their suitcases upon arrival. Why not us? Then, when we arrived at 3pm to access the room, they made us wait a long time. They said they had to check that the room was okay. If the check-out is at 10 in the morning, they had had 5 hours to check that it was okay. A scam, really. The room was not very clean, and that, in times of Covid-19, inspires a lot of mistrust. The sink and shower were also quite dirty, and there were hairs. The bed was a kind of mountable sofa-bed, extremely uncomfortable. The first night, the fire alarm went off at midnight, and we all had to run out of the building. No one gave us any explanation of what had happened nor did they compensate us for the inconvenience and fright caused. Wi-Fi leaves much to be desired: each guest can only have one device connected, so if you have a mobile phone and a computer, you can connect only one. Also, he was disconnected quite frequently. When we left, they did not want us to keep our suitcases either. The girl at the reception was very unfriendly and did not help us at all. I do not recommend it. A big disappointment.

I would never recommend anyone to book this hotel as an overnight stay! It is impossible to get any sleep. The accommodation are right next to a railway, which in itself is not the big problem - if only they had isolated the building. There is no sound insulation at All! You could pretty much sleep outside, so loud is the noise from the train! Really bad place. And there wasn't much help to get from the staff. The only thing we got from talking to them was: well you will get used to the noise! Well that’s a great answer! If you don’t have an other room, what about some refunds then!? People pretty much book these kind of hotels I London, just to get some sleep! When we booked the hotel, there were no information about the noise. And I know for sure, that they know about the noise problem, so it’s really not okay, that they don’t have something about it, in their information when you make a reservation! For if we had known about it, we had not booked the nights here!! The hotel gets one star, but only for the rooms where clean and in good condition.

I am currently staying at the Hive, and it’s the perfect place to live here in London. It’s well located, you can find everything you need in the area. The Tube station and Overground station are both within 5 minutes walk. The crew is awesome, very kind, and always helpful ! Beside that, it is highly secure, a security guard stands at the reception during all nights and the week-ends. They sometimes prepare some parties, where each student is welcome. The rooms are comfy, clean, and modern. Which is a very good point (knowing some places here in London). You get everything you need, a big awesome bed, a kitchen, a fridge, Internet, Facilities (which are very good). The common spaces are great. Coming from another country, I had so many things in my head, I had lots of problems when I first arrived in London, and I was happy that the accommodation wasn’t one, in fact, living here is so good that when I was there, it was as if these problems didn’t even exist. After less than a week, I felt like home. I highly recommend this place, you couldn’t find a better place to stay.
